Hey Blockheads! Ready for your next MBH5 assignment? I’m proud to say that this week’s block comes from yours truly, Lisa Bongean! The pattern was particularly fun for me to dream up because if you know me at all, you know I am definitely a quilter who loves stars and half-square triangles equally. Conveniently enough for me, most star blocks just so happen to be made up of half-square triangles so obviously, this made my block “All Stars” a joy for me to design, and even more fun for me to put together.

Not a fan of half-square triangles? Don’t worry, this is actually great timing! My block, “All Stars” is a fun way to try your hand at one of the best quilting hacks ever discovered – triangle paper! My custom designed Primitive Gatherings Triangle Paper will make your fear of the infamous HST a thing of the past. If you need to see the proof in the pudding, take my blocks for instance. I used 1″ Triangle Paper for the 6″ blocks, and 2″ Triangle Paper for the 12″ blocks, which made them super easy and fast to make. Ready to give Triangle Paper a try? Check out my video tutorial on how to use them by clicking HERE. Then grab a set or two by clicking HERE!
In case you’re wondering, for my blocks I’m using Bella Solid Silver (9900 183) for the background of my quilt, and Bella Solid American Blue (9900 174) consistently throughout the entire thing. The additional warmer selections are from the same soft, muted collection of Bella Solids that we put together for this project called “Sundown.” The entire collection is available for purchase on our website by clicking the buttons below!

OH, and by the way – BIG NEWS! In addition to the Sundown Collection, I also plan to throw some new colors into the mix as soon as I have them in my hot little hands… Cozy 2024 Bella Solids are coming to Primitive Gatherings, and will be available to purchase soon! Stay tuned for more info on that as soon as we have it…
I think it’s time for a progress report. How is everyone doing with this QAL? Are you on schedule or still trying to get caught up? Let me know how it’s going for you in the comments… You might even win a little care package for it – never know!!!
Alright everyone, time to get back to it! I’ll be traveling today and home on WI ground by tomorrow, so I’ll be seeing you all sooner than later. Until then, take care and happy stitching! ~Lisa.
