Woo hoo – the weekend is here! If you’ve got dreary weather in the forecast over the next few days like we do, you should be in no shortage of projects to keep you occupied indoors. I count at least four quilt-alongs that I’m currently involved in, all of which have recent block releases, so there is plenty to do to say the least! Aside from participating in Moda Blockheads 5, as you know I’m also hosting O’ Say Can You Sew 2, Black Star Flower Farm, and of course today’s muse, Twilight Stars.
If you’re on schedule with the Twilight Stars Quilt-Along you should have 68 completed blocks in your finished pile so far. Doesn’t it feel great to have so many beautiful blocks to show for all your hard work? And just think, it’s going to keep on growing all the way to 100! This week you can add two more to your stack with block numbers 76 and 93!

New to Twilight Stars? Welcome! Block patterns can be found in my book Triangle Gatherings (required to participate along with a few other items), which can be purchased on the Primitive Gatherings website by clicking HERE. Blocks will be posted every Friday around NOON Central Standard Time, with a correlating blog post shortly after on that same day. Block releases can be found both here on the blog, and in the “Quilt-Along” area under “Twilight Stars” at http://www.lisabongean.com. Never even heard of Twilight Stars? You can read all about it by clicking HERE. In addition, a full list of details and required supplies can be found at the Twilight Stars Info Page by hitting the button below!

I put together “Twilight Stars“ using my recent Rustic Gatherings fabric line combined with Jackie MacDonald’s Halloween-themed collection, Spellbound. Both lines feature color palettes with rusty oranges and rich blacks, along with some nice grey selections from Rustic that go together beautifully. If you’re not familiar with my Rustic Gatherings line, click the button below to take a look!

And just so you know… Stitchers who post photos of their work on our social media pages are eligible to win a small weekly charm pack prize. Sound like something you’re into? All you need to do to be entered to win is post a photo of your completed blocks each week before the release of the next batch, including the required book Triangle Gatherings and Primitive Gatherings Triangle Paper in the picture. Please also include the hashtag #TwilightStarsQAL in your post! Heidi will choose a winner each week until the end of the QAL, which we will announce during my LIVE show on Thursday. We will also choose a grand prize winner once the QAL is complete. The prize for sharing block photos for Week #34 goes to Daryl Magnuson Begley! Thanks for taking the time out to get your blocks done in the midst of packing, Daryl! We all know what a pain that is. Don’t worry friend, we have your back… Emergency caramels are on the way!

Now that we have Week #34 under our belts and Week #35’s assignment in hand, I think we can officially get on with the weekend! Though I always appreciate a few days of down time at home, I will admit that I’m pretty bummed to say that’s where I’ll be hanging out for the next couple of days. You might have heard me mention during my LIVE show on Thursday that I was super excited to be getting ready for a family trip to Wisconsin Dells in honor of my grandson Jace’s 9th birthday this weekend. Sadly enough, the little guy managed to snag himself a nasty case of the flu just in time to ruin his party – for now, anyway.
I had planned a fun-filled couple of days at The Wilderness, which in case you’re not familiar, is the largest waterpark resort in the U.S. Yep – it was going to rock. All I can say is that Jace wasn’t the only one excited to go… I mean, you should see this place. It’s huge! And when I say huge, I mean it literally takes up more than 12 football fields of space all together. It features EIGHT waterparks with over a dozen indoor and outdoor attractions, three mega arcades, an 18-hole championship golf course, and an award winning spa for Mimi to sneak off to when no one is looking. Not to mention, just about any kind of restaurant that your little heart desires! Sounds good, right? I mean of course I’m bummed that Jace is sick and that his brother is probably next… But having to postpone our trip was the bummer flavored icing on the bummer flavored cake! The good news is that the resort was gracious enough to allow us to reschedule for another weekend coming up soon, which I am truly grateful for. A delay is better then a cancellation all together, so we’ll take it!
Anyway, before I say goodbye I need to mention a couple of quick things. Number one is, if you’re participating my Black Star Flower Farm BOM, heads up! Block release dates for Black Star Flower Farm are typically the 10th day of the month unless that day falls on a weekend or holiday. That just so happens to be the case this month, so the February Black Star Flower Farm block release will come out this coming Monday, February 12th by 5:00 p.m. CST. As usual you can find it at http://www.lisabongean.com under the “Quilt-Alongs” tab.
Secondly, I want to say congratulations and give a big thank you to Kathy K. and Gloria Y. for posting their comments on the blog last week! To show how much I appreciate it, you each have a nice little gift coming your way from the prize vault (if you think you are one of these lucky winners, please check your email for a prize confirmation from Heidi)! Want to win a prize too? Hit that like button and leave me a comment… You could be next! See you next week! ~Lisa
