Quilt-Along Double Whammy!

It’s an exciting day here at Primitive Gatherings with not one, but TWO quilt-along block releases coming at you hot off the PG press! First up we have our usual Friday Twilight Stars blocks because, well… It just wouldn’t feel like Friday without them. Block numbers 36 and 82 are the stars of the show for Week #38, which should bring you to 76 total blocks once you get the latest two completed.

As crazy as it seems, the fact that we’re on Week #38 also means that we’re only 12 short weeks away from the end of the road! Are you going to finish on schedule??? Thanks to those of you who continue to post photos of your finished blocks each week. Your hard work has not gone unnoticed! If you find yourself falling behind, don’t worry. There’s still plenty of time to catch up to the group. Take it from Louise Charlton, who managed to get herself up to speed just in time to win a prize for Week #37! Great job Louise – and you are right! It’s hard to pick you for a prize if you don’t post! As the WI Lottery loves to say… You can’t win if you don’t play!

Switching gears over to O’ Say Can You Sew 2, for those of you who haven’t already downloaded Clue #2 of the O’ Say Can You Sew 2 Quilt-Along series, it is now available to download on our website for $5.00 by clicking HERE! This time around, you will be making 36 total 9 patch blocks to complete the clue. As promised, I put together a short video tutorial guiding you through the clue, which you can find on my STITCH with Lisa Bongean YouTube channel in the videos section by clicking HERE.

If you’re new to either of these quilt-alongs, you can find information for both at http://www.lisabongean.com under the “Quilt-Alongs” tab. Of course, if you have any questions on either Twilight Stars or O’ Say Can You Sew 2 – or anything else for that matter – please don’t hesitate to give the shop a call at 920-722-7233. You can also email store@primitivegatherings.us!

Well stitchers, I’ve only got a few minutes before I have to hit the road for the airport to catch a flight, so I better wrap this up! You might have heard me mention that I’m taking a solo trip to Nashville this weekend to attend the 2024 Nashville Needlework Market – the premier wholesale trade show for cross stitchers in the U.S. The show is geared toward vendors and shop owners like me who want to see the latest and greatest tools of the trade up close and personal. I really enjoy attending this event because it’s an exclusive shopping opportunity that also helps me keep my finger on the pulse of what’s new and upcoming in the world of cross stitch. Hopefully that means I’ll find some cool new things to add to our ever-growing cross stitch supplies here at Primitive Gatherings, which you can check out by clicking HERE!

One last thing before I go… Since yesterday was a leap day and something that only happens every four years, I thought I would pick FOUR people who left me comments over the last couple of weeks and send them a prize! Sound fun? Let’s do it! Congratulations to Deb C., Linda S., Wendy L., and, Karren M. (check your email for a prize confirmation letter if you think this could be you!)!!! They get one of Heidi’s famous prize packs – just for leaving here on the blog! Have YOU won a PG prize yet? If not, that’s a real shame. Especially since it’s so darned easy to do! LIKE, share, comment, have a great weekend, and I’ll see you soon! ~Lisa

I am enjoying both quilt alongs! Thank you for the videos—I don’t know why, but sometimes I have a hard time comprehending quilt patterns. (?) And have you thought about adding a few old school embroidery projects for those of us that don’t have the vision for cross stitch anymore?

You are in my neck of the woods now. Sorry the weather is so gray. But you will be indoors with all the excitement. I think the weather is supposed to be better tomorrow. If you are staying downtown of course there are a ton of restaurants. Most I have never visited so can not give you recommendations. Enjoy your trip📍

I cannot wait to see what fun cross stitch designs you will pick for your shop! I’m currently working on a fun one I got a month or two ago from your shop. I’m taking it to Florida with me and hoping for some extra stitch time! Have fun in Nashville!

These are lovely blocks and I am excited because I have my fabrics all starched and began cutting out my lights today……..hoping this weekend finds all cuts made and the beginning of the sewing! I also purchased clue #2 of Oh Say Can You Sew and anxiously awaiting those fabrics so I can starch, cut, and start sewing.
