Twilight Stars Quilt-Along – Block Release #47

Hey everyone! As you might have heard, my quilting buddy Darci and I spent most of our day traveling over five hours north for the 13th Annual Spring Quilting Art Seminar in Mackinac Island, MI. The event is held May 4th through the 10th, 2024 at an award winning resort on a beautiful island, and offers dozens of creative classes taught by seven awesome instructors – including me! The route to Mackinac is mostly by car, but we can only go so far until water gets in the way and a ferry is pretty much our only option to take us – and all our stuff – the remainder of the journey. I always love a good road trip, but at this point it’s been a long drive and I’m definitely ready to be out of the car and settled into our hotel room for the next several days.

Darci and I only have this afternoon and tonight to get situated before the opening reception, trunk shows, dinner and welcome speeches all kickoff tomorrow, so we’ve got a bit of work to do before the real fun begins. Before I can get to that, however, we can’t forget that we also have Week #47 Twilight Stars block releases to talk about, so let’s do it! Please add block numbers 71 and 73 to the list!

Since you’ve all been following along with this QAL just as long as I have, well all know what comes next – prizes! Special thanks and a high five go out to Rosemary Connelly for not only quilting-along, but also posting a photo of her progress on our page! Want in on a chance to win a prize too? You only have a few weeks left, so the time is now! All you have to do to for a chance to win is post a photo of your completed blocks for the week along with the required book, Triangle Gatherings and Primitive Gatherings Triangle Paper included in the picture. You can post it on either our Facebook or Instagram pages, or both! Just remember to also include the hashtag #TwilightStarsQAL in the photo as well.

Well friends, as much as I’d like to stay and chat, like I said – there is a lot of work to be done to get ready for the seminar before we can play, so I better get on it! What about you? What are your big plans for the weekend? Will you be at the Mackinac seminar? If so, let us know how it’s going in the comments! And speaking of comments… It’s apparently the week of the “Lucky Lindas” because Linda K. and Linda V. are both getting a prize for their comments on the blog last week (if you think this could be you, please check your email for a prize confirmation letter from Heidi) – woo hoo!!! Really though, that was just coincidence. I really don’t care what your name is as long as you comment. Give it a shot – you might just win a prize for it!

Alright! Off I go… I will try and get some pictures to share with you all but you know how that goes… We’ll see what happens! In the meantime, if you would like to learn more about the Annual Spring Quilting Art Seminar in Mackinac Island, MI, you can visit the Mackinac Island Tourism Bureau’s website by clicking HERE! The seminar itself also has a Facebook page you can join for ongoing information by clicking HERE, and a full brochure that you can view by clicking HERE. Wishing you beautiful weather and a wonderful weekend from Mackinac Island… See you soon! ~Lisa

Oh how I’d love to be there, but it’s a little farther than 5 hours so guess I need to stay home and stitch from here.
    Have a great week!

We’re having beautiful Spring weather here in Williamsburg. My weekend consists of prep for a Kentucky Derby dinner tomorrow night. Thankfully, only salad and soup for my part. No sewing til Sunday.

Hoping that wonderful ferry ride calmed you and wasn’t too chilly. There’s just something about being on or near the water that soothes us. Enjoy Mackinac!
