That’s a Wrap!!!

Hey everyone! Welcome to my final post in the Twilight Stars Quilt-Along! It’s an amazing feeling to be able to say that it has been an entire year since we started this QAL, and that we are finally at the finish line! Now all that’s left are finishing options, which I know you’re anxiously waiting for, so I won’t torture you any longer. To view, download, and print the Twilight Stars Quilt-Along finishing options, click the button below!

Before we can officially say, “That’s a Wrap!” on Twilight Stars, we have two more winners to announce. First up is our weekly share winner for Week #50. Renee Stapleton came sliding into home base with last week’s blocks after getting caught up just in time to be our final charm pack prize winner. Way to stay on it, Renee! Yet one more example of how a bit of perseverance goes a long way… Your Starlight Gatherings charm pack and caramels are in the mail!!!

The second name I need to announce is the final, FINAL winner of the Twilight Stars Quilt-Along – our Grand Prize winner! In case you don’t already know, the Grand Prize winner was drawn from a pool containing all 50 of our weekly winners. The prize is the winner’s choice of either having their quilt quilted by the BERNINA Brothers in our Longarm Department, OR a $250 Primitive Gatherings gift card. I’m happy to announce that after 50 consecutive weeks of hard work, commitment, social media posts, and project loyalty, Kathy Kurtz Spannaus has won the Grand Prize!!! Kathy reports that she does indeed have all 100 blocks completed, plus a few extra! She put 72 pink and brown blocks into one quilt, which is already finished. She also has several blue blocks that still need to be put together, but plans to wait for the finishing instructions to make an additional, smaller quilt with them. After all is said and done, Kathy is also happy to say that she has, “learned a lot, and my points are much better.” Music to my ears, Kathy!!! THANK YOU for quilting along. Enjoy your prize!!!

Can we actually say it now…? I think we can! THAT’s A WRAP on the Twilight Stars Quilt-Along!!! I want to thank each and every one of you from the bottom of my quilty little heart for participating in this wonderful thing we call a QAL… Like I always say, there is truly no better way to commit to a project and stay on task than joining a stitch or quilt-along! Not only do you have a reason to stay on task, you also have an entire group of supportive people to quilt with (Celebrate with? Commiserate with? Whatever works…) along the way! If you’re interested in joining a quilt-along, I will have a new one starting this summer! In the meantime, you can find a slew of my past QAL’s to explore by visiting www.lisabongean.com and clicking the “Quilt-Alongs” tab.

That’s all she wrote for this week! I can NOT wait to get this weekend going. It’s supposed to be even more beautiful than it was last weekend. Then comes a solid week of rain so I better get out there while I can. I suggest you do the same! One last quick note… Jean G. and Sandra J. need to check their emails becaussssse – they win a prize for their comments on the blog last week! Gosh I love giving stuff away… Have you noticed? You can get in on it too, all you have to do is leave me a comment! It really doesn’t get any easier than that. Have a wonderful weekend and I will see you all in the comments during CommentSold on Monday at 10:00 a.m. CST! ~Lisa

Lisa, I’ve enjoyed seeing the blocks you’ve been making. I admire the people who have made 100 pieced blocks this past year! What a commitment. Will there be a place that people post their finished quilt tops? I’d love to admire their fabric choices and hard work.

I really enjoy learning from you, the joy of the quilt community for encouragement and inspiration , the creativity is endless just like the half square triangle designs in your book.
    Thanks again,

Thank you for the prize I won a couple weeks ago for commenting. Lovely gift of needles stickers and a Florida Manatee panel. Quite a surprise.

What an awesome accomplishment for all that participated. I did the original blocks many years ago and was excited to have my quilt on display at Houston and in the book. Thank you Lisa for bringing back those great memories for me.

Thank you so much Lisa for first the Oh Say Can You Sew and then the Twilight Stars quilt-alongs! I enjoyed both very much! I’m looking forward to finishing up a few quilts over the summer and hoping you’ll entice me with something new in the fall 😁

Congratulations on another QAL finish! Although I haven’t been sewing along, (due to health reasons), I have been checking in to see the blocks. Can’t wait to see what you have for the finished piece!

Congrats to all the winners! I tried to win every week, but it wasn’t meant to be. I love all my 100 blocks. I guess that’s enough of a win for me!

I haven’t made any of the Twilight Stars blocks yet, but I did save the instructions and photos of the blocks each week. Great quilt-along, and I look forward to the next one!
