Welcome to the Weekend!

Hey everyone. Welcome back to the weekend! Once again we’re coming at you from Madison, WI where my crew and I are attending the 2024 Great Wisconsin Quilt Show! Those of you lucky enough to experience this iconic quilting event are undoubtedly having a blast taking in all that there is to see – which is a LOT! There are multiple quilt exhibits, a huge vendor mall featuring the latest notions and fabrics for sale (our booth is: BERNINA/Primitive Gatherings 1135-38, 1201-04 – find us right next to the event classroom), raffles, live music, and a 10-category juried and judged quilt contest exhibit!

If you’ve ever been to this epic show, you know what a huge sea of “all things quilting” it really is! Whether you’re looking for the latest industry gadgets or you’re on the hunt for your new favorite fabric, there’s something here for everyone! And as far as the crowd goes, I surely don’t mind it – especially when it results in enough sales to create a line that wraps half-way around the Primitive Gatherings booth!

I have really enjoyed being at The Great Wisconsin Quilt Show show so far this year! It wasn’t that long ago that events and gatherings like this were being cancelled all over the country due to COVID 19, and the show was temporarily closed. We all know how unpleasant it was to be stuck at home isolated from one another, so I really appreciate being able to see so many of you up close and in person again. If you were one of the people I was lucky enough to meet at talk to yesterday, thank you for coming to see me! I absolutely love meeting my fellow stitchers. You are literally a huge part of what inspires me to continue to create what makes up the heart and soul of Primitive Gatherings!

As the weekend approaches I can’t help but look forward to a little wind-down time over the next couple of days. Trade shows are a whole lot of fun but they are also a whole lot of WORK, so it will be nice to be able to relax a bit. What are you doing with your weekend? If you’re still trying to figure that out, I might have just the solution… It’s the first Friday of the month which means I have a new “Weekend Edition Quilt Series” release that just debuted today!

Like all the Weekend Edition Quilt Series quilts, “Cozy Starry Night” is a fast and easy pattern that will go together quickly. It consists of two different sizes of half-square triangles and one large flying geese unit, and measures 66 1/2 x 66 1/2″ when finished – simple and small enough to finish in a matter of days! For all the details on my “Weekend Edition Quilt Series,” please visit the Weekend Edition Quilt Series Information Page by clicking HERE!

With that, I am just about ready to bid you adieu but before I go, you know what time it is! High fives and shout-outs this week are going to Lynne F. and Pat P. for their comments on the blog last week. Thank you both! Heidi will be sending you something as soon as she gets your contact info (if you think this is you, please check your email)! If you still haven’t won a prize yet, keep on trying. Your time will come! Have a great weekend everyone. See you soon! ~Lisa

I couldn’t go to the show this year so it was fun to have you walk through on your “Live” Thursday. Thanks for sharing the show with us!
