Hey everyone! Welcome back to… Reality??? The holidays are officially in the rearview mirror, and it’s time to trade wrapping paper, tinsel, and holiday cheer for thread, needles, and fabric scraps. On the bright side, the new year is the perfect time to hit the reset button and dive headfirst into all the creative projects waiting to be stitched in 2025!
So! How is everyone holding up now that the dust is finally starting to settle? I hope you’ve managed to shake off the post-holiday fog and that you’re ready to get moving on making 2025 your most creative year yet! If you’re not sure which project to dive into first, or need something fresh to reignite your brain, don’t worry. I’ve got you covered with the perfect project to get the ball rolling! Back by popular demand, I’m happy to announce that my monthly Wooden Mini Barn Mini Quilt Series is once again open for a limited amount of new sign-ups!
In case you haven’t heard about this adorable AND functional new BOM, let me tell you about it. Fans of traditional barn quilts are in for a real treat! As you probably already know, the idea of barn quilts started gaining popularity hundreds of years ago when immigrants from central Europe used to identify and decorate their barns. Fast-forward to now days, and you’ll find that barn quilts are one of the fastest-growing, community-driven grassroots public art movements in the country. They can still be seen decorating the sides of barns and other buildings across America – including Primitive Gatherings!
Of course, being the quilt fanatic that I am, barn quilts also have a special place in my heart for so many reasons. They blend art and tradition in a way that feels both timeless and fresh. Each quilt pattern tells a story, often reflecting the history and culture of the community where it’s displayed, and I just love that. When I see a barn quilt, I’m reminded of the craftsmanship and creativity that went into its creation, as well as the rich heritage of quilting that has been passed down through generations, just like their fabric cousins! That’s why I thought it would be a fun idea to come up with a project that honors this traditional outdoor art – inside!
If you love the look and charm of handcrafted home décor like I do, my Wooden Mini Barn Mini Quilt Series might just be the perfect project for you! A great pick for the seasoned crafter or the greenest of newbies, this adorable project offers you the chance to create your very own piece of art while combining old-style tradition with your unique personal touch.

The project consists of an adorable wooden mini barn, and 12 interchangeable wooden mini barn quilts – one for each month of the year. The barn will come pre-assembled complete with a heavy-duty magnet already attached, along with 12 primed, blank wooden squares for your mini barn quilts (paints are not included). Not a painter? Not a problem! We offer pre-printed images of barn quilts that you can Mod Podge onto the wooden squares if that’s your preference! Each square will also come with a metal washer already attached, making changing your quilt blocks from month to month as simple as it gets.
Want one? They’re easy to get and even easier to afford if you do it as a “Block of the Month” or BOM. As always, Jess has provided you with a couple of options to participate. They are as follows:
OPTION ONE – BLOCK OF THE MONTH:
• Available to ORDER NOW BY CLICKING HERE on a FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED BASIS!!! Remember, these little barns are HANDMADE by our in-house carpenter Scotty, and are limited due to supply quantities and time restraints. That being said, we have already sold out of them once, and will not be able to make any more after this batch is gone. In other words, THIS IS YOUR LAST CHANCE to sign up for the project as a BOM!
• The first shipment will include your pre-assembled wooden barn, all 12 blank barn quilt blocks, and February wool kit. The shipment will also contain the pattern for February’s painted barn quilt. Each shipment thereafter will contain the following month’s block so you will have time to get it done for the upcoming month. PLEASE NOTE: You’ll be given the option to purchase a, “Catch-Up Kit” for all past months up ordering.
• Each month you will receive a new layout for the wooden mini barn quilt, along with the kit and pattern to make the wool appliqué project, which will go onto the barn clipboard.
• The wooden barn and quilt blocks are available for purchase on our website for $75.00 by clicking HERE.
• Barn measures 17” x 15” – Blocks measure 3″ x 3″ – Wool portion measures approximately 11” x 8″
• As a “Thank You” for signing up and committing to all 12 kits and patterns, you will be receiving a discount on the project kits AND have them before they are available for others to purchase – woo hoo!!!
• This will be a 12 month program. The cost will be $26.00 per month. You will be charged a $1.00 reservation fee when signing up, and $26.00 each month thereafter.
• Monthly kits will ship on the 1st day of each month and will include a design for the following month (ie. November 1st = December theme, December 1st = January theme, etc.).
OPTION TWO – ORDER BLOCKS SEPARATELY:
• For those of you who do not want to commit to a 12 month BOM, this à la carte-style option is for you! By choosing this route, you can purchase each month’s Mini Barn Mini Quilt Kit separately, letting you pick and choose which designs you want to create without committing to the full series. Perfect for those who like to take it one project at a time or who would rather test the waters before diving in! If à la carte-style works best for you, click HERE to order individually!
On the fence and want a closer look? If you haven’t seen it already, I highly recommend watching my LIVE show from a few weeks ago, where I originally talked about this new BOM along with details on my upcoming 2025 Unity Quilt-Along, which starts on Thursday, January 16th, 2025!
