Ring in the Weekend with Weekend Quilt #9!

Hey, everyone! As promised, I’m back in the studio to ring in the weekend with the latest addition to my Weekend Edition Quilt Series! I know, I know – we’re a little late this month, but as you probably heard, the sample quilt went on a slight “hiatus” while it was out in the world getting its finishing touches. Not to worry though. I’m happy to say that it’s now back in the studio safe and sound for everyone to enjoy. So, without further ado, let me introduce Honeybloom Garden – the quilt that finally bloomed into existence and made it here to PG!

This little beauty might have taken its sweet time getting here, but it was definitely worth the wait! Designed by 3 Sisters Designs, Honeybloom Garden is #9 in our Weekend Edition Quilt Series, and trust me – when I say simple, this is about as simple as it gets. Basically all you need to make it is just four charm packs (or one layer cake) of Honeybloom fabric by 3 Sisters, 3 1/4 yards of Bella porcelain for the background, 4 1/2 yards of backing fabric, 5/8 yard of binding fabric, and you’re all set to go!

Did I mention Honeybloom Garden is the true definition of simple??? As always, there is a correlating video tutorial to go along with this Weekend Edition Quilt release, however, because the project is truly so very simple, it isn’t much of a tutorial at all. I think it’s only maybe two minutes long tops, because there really isn’t a whole lot to say about it aside from the fact that at as you can see, simple can also mean stunning.

Not a fan of the Honeybloom fabric line, but love this quilt? No worries! Honeybloom Garden is not only easy and quick, but it’s also versatile! It’s a super slick solution for several gift ideas, including a wedding or baby shower. In other words… pick your favorite charm squares or layer cake and go to town! Then feel good about giving it away because it only took you a couple of days to make!

All this talk of the weekend has me ready to hang it up for the day so I can get outside for some fresh air while the weather is still behaving. The next couple of days are supposed be to freezing rain and icy so I’m going to soak up the good stuff while I can – I recommend that you do the same! The cabin fever struggle is real this time of year… Thank God for stitching! Before I go, I do want to remind you that if you haven’t gotten your *FREE Hoppy Gnomes pattern (with $25.00 purchase) yet, you still have until the end of the day on Sunday, March 30th, 2025 to get it. Haven’t heard about it? Click HERE for the details. Then click the “order” button… THEN, enjoy, have a great weekend, and I will see you all back here next week. Bye for now! ~Lisa

Love this :0). Yes you should do a tutorial on cutting squares! Many quilters do NOT understand that the ruler must be on the fabric when cutting squares. Our guild has monthly block exchange from mostly Moda Blockhead sew alongs…..we couldn’t figure out why so many blocks were the WRONG size. Bingo! After I did a tutorial for the guild it turns out quilters were cutting their shapes with the ruler on the side of the fabric instead of ON THE FABRIC. Wonder how many make this simple mistake? Happy Sewing!

I really like this pattern!! It is very versatile – I can envision this done in seasonal fabrics or brights punched with small black squares and many other directions! (I do really like it as pictured, too!) Hope you’re having a good week!
