We’ve Got the Blues (and Greens, and Oranges Too)!

Hey, everyone! When was the last time your wool stash got a proper summer glow-up? Summer stitching deserves better than last year’s leftovers, so if you’re still working with the same old faded colors, I think it’s safe to say that it’s time for a serious collection refresh! Lucky for you, we’ve got just the thing to shake that stash out of its slump. Four brand-new colors have joined the Primitive Gatherings Hand Dyed Wool lineup, and they’re ready to steal the show!

Meet your new summer wool obsessions: Blue Spruce, Green Bay, Caribbean Blue, and Firebird! Each one of these brand new beauties brings its own vibe—whether you’re leaning toward earthy elegance, dreaming of cool coastal shades, or craving a pop of fiery heat, these colors weren’t just made to blend in… Oh no—they’re here to stand out, spark ideas, and turn even your simplest projects into total showstoppers. Think of them as the secret weapons your wool stash didn’t know it needed—until now!

Have you noticed how some colors quietly command attention? That’s exactly what our new hand-dyed wool color, Blue Spruce does. This rich, sophisticated blue-green is inspired by the evergreen trees that line our landscapes, bringing a natural and calm feeling to your wool projects. It looks good on its own or paired with brighter colors, giving your work a cool and grounded elegance that never goes out of style!

Loving the green but need something warmer? Check out Green Bay! More subtle than a Spring Green but not as dark as Forest, Green Bay works beautifully in both modern and traditional patterns while still feeling fresh and current. Whether you’re creating intricate leaf motifs or bold geometrical shapes, this versatile green shines in both supporting and starring roles.

We’ve got the blues—and I’m not talking about the Monday morning kind! Also brand new to our hand-dyed wool lineup is, Caribbean Blue – a stunning, tropical-inspired shade that’s both bold and breezy. This cool, clear blue brings a splash of brightness that stands out beautifully. Whether you’re stitching ocean waves, summer skies, or just need a blue that won’t get lost in the mix, Caribbean Blue is a color collection you’ll find yourself reaching for again and again.

Ready to embrace your inner rebel? Add a bold burst of color to your wool projects with Firebird—a vibrant, fiery shade of orange that’s as warm as it is eye-catching. This new addition to our wool collection will bring attitude and energy to any piece, whether you’re stitching up a seasonal project, adding contrast to your appliqué, or creating a standout centerpiece for your next quilt. This sassy new swatch is just what you need for autumn leaves, sunset skies, or any project that could use a little extra dash of heat.

See anything you like? I hope you’re as excited about these new colors as I am. You may have noticed that I have been quieter than usual after losing my mom unexpectedly last week, so having something beautiful and creative to focus on has been especially meaningful for me lately. Needless to say, it’s been a very emotional time. Thank you to all of you who have taken the time to send me your condolences. I am blessed to be so loved and cared for by my quilting community!

Now that the dust is starting to settle I’m really looking forward to hanging out at home this weekend, doing some peaceful stitching, and taking a moment to reflect—it will be nice to have some time alone to let it all sink in. But don’t you worry about me… Next week I’ll be back good as new and raring to go! Until then, take care and remember to hug the people you love whenever you get the chance because, you just never know… Peace and love to you all! ~Lisa

Oh Lisa, I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your mom. She is a permanent part of my memories forged at your former retreat house. Saturday night root beer floats, homemade soup, slaw, cake, you name it… an incredible cook. Loved chatting with her, I miss her… and am grateful for the time spent. 💖
