Sip Into Something Cozy: 2025 PG Holiday Mug Pre-Orders Are Here!

Hey, everyone! Is it just me, or does talking about the holidays in the middle of a major heat wave feel a bit on the premature side? Today, along with much of the U.S., Wisconsin is experiencing temps close to 100°, with hot and sticky air thick enough to slice with a rotary cutter — yet, here I am getting ready to talk about our annual holiday mugs like it’s snowing outside!

It might feel a little wild to say the holidays are “just around the corner,” yet here we are. Whether you believe it or not, the design for our 2025 Primitive Gatherings Holiday Mug is already here, and this year it comes with a fun little twist! We couldn’t bring ourselves to pick just one color (OK, OK, I’ll admit it — we actually couldn’t agree!), so for the first time ever, you get to choose between two very merry styles! Whether you’re into something bright, bold, and festive or lean more toward a softer, more subtle look, we’ve got just the mug to match your holiday mood.

First up is the red version — a deep, saturated holiday red with a glossy finish that adds just the right amount of shine. Just below the rim, a gorgeous embossed poinsettia design brings a delicate, handcrafted touch. It’s classic, festive, and feels great in your hand. Plus, if you’re anything like me, you misplace whatever you’re holding as soon as you walk into a room. You couldn’t lose this beauty of a mug if you tried!

Ready to slow down and savor the upcoming holiday season? The Strawberry Shortcake version wraps your favorite beverage in cozy cream with a subtle hint of red, and features the same embossed poinsettia medallion as the red version — a simple and thoughtful design that feels just right, no matter the time of year.

Now, If you’ve been hanging around PG long enough, you know these mugs tend to fly off the shelves faster than you can say “peppermint mocha,” which is why we’re opening up pre-orders now. That way you can reserve yours early and be sipping your first Hot Toddy of the season long before the holiday madness kicks into full gear.

So, which one’s calling your name? Bold and festive, or warm and cozy? Both mugs are handcrafted right here in Wisconsin by Sunset Hill Stoneware. They hold a generous 16 ounces and are 100% lead-free, dishwasher, microwave, and oven safe (and yes, the handle really does stay cool in the microwave). Each mug is made to order and expected to ship around October 1st, 2025 — just in time to stay ahead of the holiday rush (that date is subject to change, but we’ll keep you in the loop if anything shifts)!

One more thing… If you have your heart set on one of these beautiful collector’s items, don’t wait!!! After Primitive Christmas, the price goes up! As a special thanks for pre-ordering your mugs we’re waiving the usual $5.00 extra shipping fee per mug and offering them to you for $29.50 + our flat-rate shipping rate! Mugs purchased after pre-order will be $34.50 + flat-rate shipping.

Ok… back to summer heat wave reality! If you’re sweating through the swelter like we are right now remember, don’t just survive — thrive! Keep yourself cool, drink plenty of water, and consider this your official excuse to pull out one of your holiday mugs from years past. Challenge yourself to down a full 16 ounces as often as you can throughout the day. It’s hydration with a guaranteed 16 oz and a side of festive flair — LOL! Take care of yourself and I will see you soon! ~Lisa

Lisa, I grew up in northern IL so I totally get the humidity. How many oz do the mugs hold. Are they hand made?

I ordered the Strawberry Shortcake version. Love the red too, but something about the cream color got me.

Yes, I preordered a week ago, the Strawberry Shortcake one. What? No caramels?
