Hey, everyone!

Nothing says “welcome to spring in Wisconsin” quite like two feet of snow and 50+ mph winds. Historic Snowstorm Elsa delivered both over the weekend without apology, including rain, sleet, ice, wet snow, dry snow, heavy snow, light snow… all the flippin’ snows! She ran through the whole menu and ordered one of everything before calling it done, shutting down portions of major highways and leaving many small towns and rural areas still waiting to see their first plow even today. The absolute nerve of her — what a stitch! And the irony? After all that hype, the prep, the panic, and several days trapped inside… just about all of it will most likely melt by the end of the week.

Ah, but such is spring — in like a lion, out like a lamb… exciting, isn’t it? The battle of the change of seasons has officially begun! You can tell because Mother Nature doesn’t know which kid she’s yelling at half the time. One minute she’s dumping two feet of snow on us, the next minute it’s 50 degrees and sunny — annoying and typical for this time of year.

Speaking of problem children, special thanks to Scotty and Nick who have been hard at work keeping snow removal and the parking situation under control all weekend. Retreaters lucky enough to make it through the storm to The Gathering for my annual Cabin Fever retreat were able to check in without a hitch, all thanks to the guys who kept the driveway and parking lot as clear as possible so people could get their gear safely unloaded. Thanks again, guys — we all appreciate you both!
