Hey, everyone!
Raise your hand if you’ve been meaning to get more serious about your personal fitness, but just can’t seem to stay motivated on your own — because, same. That’s exactly why I’m super excited to share something a little different with you today that pretty much has nothing to do with quilting or being creative… for the most part.
You may know Vanessa Christenson as the Moda fabric designer behind V and Co., but what you might not know is that she is also an NASM-certified personal trainer and nutrition coach who has also successfully built an impressive fitness career alongside her creative one.
Great for her, right… but what does that have to do with us? Vanessa’s passion lies in helping people — particularly those in the creative industry — find physical and mental balance. She brings the same level of dedication to her fitness clients as she does to her creative life, which is why when she reached out about putting together a small group strength training program focusing on people just like me, I was immediately interested.
Let’s be honest — most of us aren’t getting enough movement in our day, and I’m no exception. I’m turning 60 this year, and that reality has me thinking a lot about how the choices I make right now are going to determine how strong and capable I am, well into my later years. I’m happy to say that after working with Vanessa one-on-one since November, strength training has really become something I’m genuinely passionate about. That’s why I decided that I’d really like to keep it going, but in more of a small group type setting this time around. I don’t know about you, but personally I need help staying motivated when it comes to something like this, because if left to my own devices, chances are I’m not going to follow through. Sad, I know — but at least I’m honest! Something tells me that at least a few of you can relate…
We plan for this new strength training program to run for three months (start date T.B.D.). I’d like the group to meet virtually three mornings a week — Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 7:00 a.m. CST. With Vanessa’s coaching and guidance, we’ll work through guided strength training sessions together, focusing on building real, functional strength through compound movements and solid form (there will be options to adjust as needed so everyone can work at a level that feels right for them while still continuing to progress over time). As I mentioned, we’re keeping this group intentionally small with around 8–10 people so it stays personal and supportive. The goal is to create a space where we can get to know each other, offer encouragement, and help keep one another accountable along the way.
Investment wise, this small group strength training subscription is $35 per session, with three sessions per week. To put that in perspective, the average personal trainer typically runs anywhere from about $55 to $120 per session, depending on experience and location. A gym membership on its own might be cheaper, but it doesn’t include coaching, programming, or accountability — so most people either go without guidance or end up paying significantly more for one-on-one training that can be hard to sustain long-term. This format sits in the middle: structured coaching, consistent sessions, and a small group environment that keeps both cost and accountability balanced. I love it!
Well? What do you think — ready to get motivated and make some changes for the better? If this sounds like something you’d like to be part of, I’d love to have you join us. All you need to do to get the ball rolling is sign up for an initial 45-minute consultation with Vanessa by clicking the button below. From there, she’ll explore your individual needs and expectations, and help you figure out how to reach your fitness goals through strength training.

Like I mentioned, I intend to keep this group small so if you’re thinking you want in — don’t wait! Click that button and get yourself signed up before you have another lousy excuse not to. Remember… nothing about your fitness level will change if you don’t actually do something to change it yourself. Just sayin’!
Alright, gang! That’s all she wrote for today. I’ll be back in the studio tomorrow – Thursday, April 15th, 2026 for LIVE with Lisa at 1:00 p.m., which you can watch on my YouTube channel by clicking the STITCH icon below. Come hang out with me and the girls as we dish the PG tea for another week. Stop in to say hi in the comments or drop any questions you might have — you might even win a prize. Hope to see you there! ~Lisa
