Hey, everyone!
Remember the May release for Val Krueger’s All About Quilts Fat Quarter Series that got held up by a fabric delay? Well, good news! The fabric is finally here — and now that I’ve had a chance to come up for air after what has been an absolutely nonstop few weeks here at PG, it’s high time we gave this fun little quilt the proper introduction it deserves!
Measuring in at 56″ x 70″, Flower Power is everything the name implies — fun, cheerful, and bursting with bold and adventurous color that you would not typically find in my sewing room… LOL! The quilt is done in Elizabeth Hartman’s Scenery fabric line, a nature-inspired collection of tone-on-tone prints featuring an array of sun-warmed colors that range from vibrant to soft and everything in between.

Flower Power features 12 colorful blocks, each built around a large flower-like shape constructed from four unique snowball units. The pieces are large and simple, making the construction refreshingly straightforward. It’s both a nice starting point for beginners and a welcomed break for seasoned quilters who just want to enjoy the process without a lot of fuss. Not too big and not too small, Flower Power comes together fast and efficiently.

Val describes this groovy little quilt as quick, easy, and great for a weekend project or last-minute gift idea. Not to mention, with the ability to work in any color palette that suits you, the design is as versatile as it is fast. Make it in soft pastels for a baby shower, bold brights for a birthday, or go for a more primitive approach like I would do — change up the colors and you’ve essentially got a brand new quilt every time! Whether you’re just starting out or you’ve been quilting for decades, Flower Power is a project that can work for everyone.
Peace, love, and quilt kits, mannn! Patterns and kits to make Flower Power are available now both in the shop and on our website by clicking the link above! And don’t forget… order your backing fabric along with your kit and you’ll save 20% on it! You’ll need four yards for this project, so you might as well grab it while you’re already shopping and get a deal while you’re at it.
Alright everyone, it’s supper time so I’m going to head out for the evening. But before I do, I should remind you that tomorrow is Thursday (my favorite day of the week!), which means I’ll be going LIVE on my YouTube channel at 1:00 p.m. CST. Session three of my annual Red, White & Blue retreat is well underway, so once again I’ll have a live studio audience keeping me company from behind the scenes. As always, I’m hoping a few, or even all of them will be brave enough to join me on camera to show off what they’ve been working on and share stories about their experience at The Gathering — it always makes for a great show when that happens, don’t you think? I do… Tune in to see who’s got the guts to go LIVE by clicking the STITCH button below. Hope to see you there! ~Lisa
