Shake Up Your Holiday Wardrobe with a Primitive Gatherings Snow Globe Sweatshirt!

Hey, everyone!

Is it just me, or does Christmas seem to sneak up faster and faster every year? We may still be soaking up the dog days of summer here in Wisconsin, but that doesn’t keep us from dreaming of twinkling lights, winter projects, and all the fun and festivities that go along with the upcoming holiday season. In fact, though it might seem early, I’m super excited to be able to share the first peek at our 2026 Primitive Christmas theme with you already: the snow globe!

When the girls and I started planning Primitive Christmas 2026 months ago, I knew I wanted a theme that felt nostalgic, fun, and that brought back memories of a simpler time. I wanted it to remind people of their family traditions, old-school handmade decorations, and the magic that made Christmas so exciting and special when we were young. We tossed around a lot of really great ideas, but at the end of the day, my brain kept looping me back to this classic holiday favorite that seemed to represent everything we were going for.

If you’re thinking you’ve seen this design somewhere before, you’re probably thinking of our 2026 holiday mugs, which went up for pre-order earlier this spring. Over the years, our mugs have featured everything from stars and snowflakes to reindeer, Christmas trees, gingerbread men, ornaments, and even the fat man himself… but a snow globe? Never — until now!

You might recall that last year we offered two mug color options for the very first time, which worked out better than we expected. In fact, the response was so great that we decided to do it again! This year, you’ll also have two striking color schemes to pick from, including Navy and Night Sky. Navy is a rich, solid dark navy that is timeless and classic, while Night Sky takes things up a notch with a dreamy two-toned look featuring speckled navy on the rim and a softer gray-blue on the body.

Want one? How about one of each? Two of each? Three? You’re in luck! Now through October 2026, we’re waiving the usual additional $5/mug shipping fee and offering them to you for just $32.00 each + our flat-rate shipping. Please keep in mind that since each one is made specifically to fill your order, a non-refundable $16 reservation fee is required when you place it. The remaining $16 will be charged closer to the ship date in October 2026. Want to wait until closer to Christmas to pull the trigger? That’s totally fine too… but please remember that due to extra shipping and packaging requirements, mugs purchased after the designated pre-order period will be $37.00 + flat-rate shipping.

Once we had our theme nailed down, in addition to the mugs, the possibilities of where to apply it seemed endless. Given the fact that it’s consistently over 85° outside right now, obviously one of the first things on my list to do was create our 2026 holiday sweatshirt. I mean, hey — we live in Wisconsin. In this state, sweatshirt season is 365 days a year, whether it’s cold out or not! Just because it’s 85° at noon doesn’t mean it won’t be chilly enough for a second layer once the sun goes down. The moral of the story? Don’t learn the hard way — never leave home without your trusty Primitive Gatherings sweatshirt!

As Wisco girls will tell you, most of us have more sweatshirts in our wardrobes than we’ll ever know what to do with. Still, somehow, that doesn’t stop us from wanting to add to our ever-growing collections the minute we see one we like. What can I say? Guilty as charged over here! Especially if it’s cute, has a Primitive Gatherings logo on it, and is from a brand I know and love called Oat Collective.

Tried and true by all of us here at PG, these sweatshirts are unbelievably comfortable, soft, warm, and cozy — all the things that make for a great sweatshirt in my book. It’s no surprise they have quickly become a Primitive Gatherings favorite for both customers and staff. In fact, if you were lucky enough to snag one of our Poinsettia sweatshirts from last Primitive Christmas, you already know exactly why we’re so excited to work with Oat Collective again this year for our Primitive Christmas 2026 snow globe version.

More cool news! Featuring a nice blend of 50% cotton and 50% polyester, these logoed sweatshirts are available to pre-order NOW through September 1st, 2026, in a variety of adult unisex sizes from S to 2XL. I will say this — if you’re even thinking about ordering this sweatshirt, I wouldn’t wait. Pre-ordering helps us determine accurate numbers; however the trade-off is a deadline we can’t miss if we want them to ship on time. That being said, the anticipated shipping date at this point is this October.

Well, everyone, I’m pretty sure I hear the cleaning crew arriving downstairs, which means I am here working way too late on a Wednesday, once again! Time to get home, put some decent food in my belly, and get ready for my most favorite day of the week tomorrow — Thursday! We go LIVE at our usual time of 1:00 p.m. CST on my YouTube channel, STITCH with Lisa Bongean, and I hope you’ll tune in for the fun. We’re going to be getting everyone up to speed on the O’ Say Can You Sew III Quilt-Along, which actually reminds me to tell you about a tiny little snafu in regard to that QAL before I go…

If you are participating in the O’ Say Can You Sew III QAL: while there are a few updates to the pattern, none of it is crucial (meaning you won’t need more fabric than you already have), so don’t worry. You will just have to make a few more blocks or cut a few more pieces of fabric. Jess is working on getting the fix done so please bear with us! Once it’s all figured out, she will let you know and the new download will be in your account. You will also receive an email with the download from Jackson. For those of you who have not purchased it yet but plan to, it will be back up on the site for you to purchase as soon as it’s ready to go. If you have questions, please feel free to email the shop at store@primitivegatherings.us!

Ugh — snafus. Gotta love em’! Keeps us on our toes, anyway. Have a great night everyone! ~LIsa
