Hey, everyone!
How many treasures are you hiding in your sewing room that someone else would probably just loooove to have? For me, come to find out, the answer is more than I ever could have imagined! That’s why I’ve spent this beautiful fall Friday afternoon doing the last of the sorting and pricing of my items for our annual Purge & Splurge Sale tomorrow. After the girls organized the studio while I was gone earlier this month, I was left with a mountain of random items to find new homes for. Turns out, some of the clutter in that studio may or may not have actually been mine all along… who knew!
Speaking of fall cleaning, apparently, the studio wasn’t the only sewing space of mine that needed a good purge. Madeline and I spent a considerable amount of time going through my home studio this week, and I’m pretty proud to say that I was willing to part with quite a bit once it was all said and done. My table at tomorrow’s sale will be piled high with an impressive amount of fabric, including out-of-print collections, layer cakes, jelly rolls, and honey buns. United Notions homespun fabrics, panels, patterns, and plenty of other random notions and goodies made it into the purge bin as well, so if that sounds like your jam, come and get it! I’m also clearing out home décor and projects I started but never quite finished. You know how hard it is to part with a good fabric stash, but it’s time for some of these treasures to find new homes!
Now that we’ve gotten the purge part out of the way, it’s time for the fun part… the SPLURGE! If you’re close enough to make the trip, I’d love for you to come visit me and more than 25 other vendors tomorrow, Saturday, October 17, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. CST at The Gathering for our annual Purge & Splurge Sale! The Gathering is located at 8567 South Loop Rd.—which is right next door to the Primitive Gatherings retail store, so if you don’t find what you’re looking for at the sale, you may just get lucky and find it in the shop!

Purge & Splurge is one of my favorite events of the year! I get to clear out things I’ve been hanging onto, and someone else gets to take home a few treasures. The only problem? I’m pretty good at finding things I suddenly can’t live without, too. I may be making some room in my sewing room, but I know I’ll come home with a few new additions to my stash, it’s inevitable!
Friday night is here! Time to wrap it up and enjoy the rest of this beautiful day. It’s pretty windy here in Larsen, and it rained pretty hard earlier today, but that’s ok. Right now, it’s sunny and gorgeous outside so I’m going to go enjoy it before it turns back into shh…lop! Have a great weekend, everyone! ~LIsa
