Hey Everyone…today is my day to post!….I would really love to thrill you with all the wonders of my “Hometown”-but If I am really honest…I have never felt like this is my hometown…I have lived here in Menasha, WI for about 20 years…my real hometown is 10 miles away…Little Chute WI…but this post is supposed to be about where I live now…Menasha is just under 20,000 people. Everyone knows Menasha by our sister twin city Neenah…they always say… yes…Neenah/Menasha….Neenah is the city on the right side of the tracks and we are the other…Menasha is home to mostly hard working blue-collar folks who love their High School Football, Green Bay Packers and the Milwaukee Brewers. ย We are sitting right on top of the biggest inland lake in the state…Winnebago, which means stinky water, by the way…and this year is was really “stinky”…but we will not go into that…It’s a sore spot…we have a nice boat that hasn’t moved since July 4th, which is supposed to be my escape… ย I will talk about this in another post…
Lately I feel like my home is at the next “Quilt Show”….I love the thrill of wondering who I will meet, quilters are the best people, how will my class go?, ย Will the quilts be awesome or just so so? ย Will our sales be higher than last year’s? ย When you work as hard as my crew does, you want to always to better than the previous year…and I have to admit…only twice it has not happened. ย Part of my home is on the road traveling by plane or a truck, pulling a 24 foot trailer loaded to the max with all that wool and quilting stuff! ย This week coming up is the 2nd time this summer I am not going to a show…I am trying to not have to do every show. ย I need some time to work on this Fall’s Market Quilts featuring my next line called -Snowman Gatherings. ย Nick will be gone and I will have a week before I have to leave for MN to teach at Gruber’s Quilt shop…This is kind of how my life works…home and on the road.
Now in the post I am supposed to talk about some of the best places in my hometown…hmmm…I’ve been thinking about these questions and I have even asked Luke and Jake these questions while were were driving home from the Madison quilt show last night and they kind of laughed…and then the answer from them was Primitive Gatherings!!! I have to admit I think the best thing about Menasha is Primitive Gatherings!!! When I was in front of the town board earlier this year, one of the board members kind of admitted it himself…he stated the only reason women come to this town is for your shop!!! So I think we are the best thing in Menasha…and the best place to eat is where??? my friends from my quilting retreat house know…Terri’s cooking!!! ย Enough said…
So lets get to the real reason for this post…what is my project!!! It is pictured below…you know I had to add some wool to those little charms…and most of you know I love 9 patches…so this is what I came up with for you!!!
Below are three little gifts Moda has sent for this blog hop…By the way…Moda is the best fabric company! Right????
They sent a fat 1/8 pack and 2 honey buns…
I am also going to give away the kits for this project!!! Now here is the problem…I know I have about 10 of them….but if I only can come up with eight or nine you have to forgive me…
To try and win one of these awesome prizes….
comment on this post…tell me who you are, where you are from and if you love your “hometown” or if your heart is really in another place….
Jeter and Presley will be picking the winners…how I don’t know yet, but we will figure it out…lol
all for now…good luck! I will post winners on the 15th of September!!!

My name is Kristy and I live in Cincinnati, the home of the International Quilt Festival in the spring. I look forward to talking to you again in your booth. Be sure and get some Graeters ice cream while you are in town. You will love it. Be sure to get something with a chip in the flavor.
I live in my husband’s hometown of Sheldon, WI, a very small town in NW Wisconsin. It is nice and quiet here, perfect for quilting when I’m done with the farm work.
my name is Sue and I live in Wytheville Virginia, This is not my home town but I live here. I have lived here almost 10 years. I was transplanted here. But the town is not bad and I have some really good sewing friends. We call ourselfs the Bitchin Stitchers as when we sew we usually talk more than sew.
My name is Nicole and I live in Carrington, North Dakota. A nice small town with a wonderful quilt shop. I like my town, very similar to where I grew up. Small town gal here. ๐
I live in Breezy Point, MN and I do love it here. Sometimes I wish I were living in the city (when it comes to shopping opportunities!) but for the most part I like the lake shore living.
My name is Lia. I love living in my small village in the south of the Netherlands. But there are times I wished I’d live in a real town: with quiltshops to visit! Love your work.
Well I live in Boynton Beach, FL so I guess that’s my current home town. I grew up in Boca Raton but was born in St. Louis. So you could say I’m conflicted about which is my home town. I love something about each one and still visit St. Louis. If I could move myself to a new home town it would have to be New Mexico. I know it’s a state but I love the whole place and wouldn’t be choosy where I settle down!
Sounds like you need a break – success can do that to you…! We love your designs and your creativity. Looking forward to visiting your booth in Des Moines. But – take care of you. If you burn out – we won’t get to ‘experience’ Primitive Gatherings for many years to come.
my name is gloria and my hometown is san antonio texas. i love it here, born and raised here and can’t imagine living anywhere else. we have cool springs, hot summers, warm fall days with chilly nights and not too cold winters. one of the things i love most are that people are friendly here, we have a lot of tourists, it’s kind of like a small town feeling but it’s actually a mid-size city, and of course we love our Spurs! But mostly, I love my town because it’s where most of my family is and that’s good enough to make me want to stay here forever!
I currently live in Grand Ledge. I was born in Battle Creek; grew up from age 7 to 25 in Ionia; moved to Lake Odessa and then on to Grand Ledge for the past 25 years – all in Michigan. I believe ‘home’ is where the heart is. And I love it here. A small town but close enough to the ‘big’ stuff.
My town is called Herscher and I am proud that we reach out and helps our neighbors and take pride in our community. We are so small that we lost our only grocery store this year and have to drive to do any shoping etc. The pride of our town would be our churchs, the school district (go TIGERS) and the community with a big heart to the world.
Donna…. lake Elsinore , CA…do I LOVE it?? Hmmmm… Not sure… I don’t think I have ever lived somewhere where I absolutely LOVE it. It’s the only area I know…. I need to go exploring I guess and find a place to retire so I can LOVE that place! ๐
Can’t believe I get to comment this soon. Usually I only remember at the last minute but I so love the Primitive Gathering site so I was looking for Lisa’s blog post right away. My hometown is State College, PA, also known as Happy Valley, home of the Penn State Nittany Lions but our community and university is not much of a happy place these days. It is beautiful in the fall and football games and tailgating are a special part of the season. Looking forward to seeing all your special “woollies” for the holidays.
Sheila
Lisa,
I live in Cambridge, MN, if it weren’t for family and work, I guess, I would be back home in
Grand Rapids, in Northern Minnesota, back to slower quieter times and peaceful surroundings.
Love the prints and thanks for the chance to win.
My name is Lise Russ and my hometown is Green Forest, Arkansas! I love my hometown!! The best thing about where I live is the scenery, we are nestled in the hills of northwest AR and I wouldn’t live anywhere else! Love your stuff!
I’m Cindy, born & raised in Eau Claire, WI, where I still live. I didn’t “love” EC until I got involved with various volunteer opportunities, and then I fell in love with all our community has to offer. Plus, it’s a nice 3-4 hour drive to Menasha and I love that!!! Good get-away with the quilting girls!!
Hi I am from Copperas Cove Tx and the only thing we can really boast about is that we are right next to the largest miltary base in the world…. Ft Hood Tx! I ahve lived here for almost 40 years and because of the military there are a lot of people coming and going and not to many Coveites left around. We do love out football though!!!! Go Bulldogs, Longhorns and of course the Cowboys!
Hi, my name is Marcy and I live in Cedaredge Colorado. It is a very small town , but full of beautiful orange Denver Bronco sunsets.Since I’m so rural, I drive 65 miles to my favorite store Hi Fashion Fabrics to buy your patterns. Thanks
I love your fabric, would love to get to your shop but it is not close. So I drool over your things over the internet. I met you once a few years ago at the Chicago Quilt Festival and wish I had known you would be my favorite place to shop. I was just a newbie at the time. Keep doing what you are doing as it is beautiful stuff. My hometown was a great place to raise families, as it was about 5,000 residents and we all loved being in such a small community, though I grew up outside of town on a farm. i wish our kids could live in the world that I did where it was a lot simpler and scarey than our world is now.
I’m Sharon, originally from England, living in Canada for 9 years now (where I learned to quilt!) I’d love to live in California where the sun seems to be always shining and there are loads of quilt stores! Love your work Lisa!
I live on a lake in Central Minnesota and love it! We loved raising our 3 boys in this small town but now I’m dreaming of trips to other parts of the country! I’ll have to try working with wool again…..beautiful ๐
I live in Ma. I’ve always lived in the same city. Some family members have moved away. Holidays and birthdays bring everyone back home again. This is what makes my hometown special.
I live in Lancaster, CA. This isn’t my hometown but I have lived here for 25 years. I can’t say that I love it here but I like it fine because this is where my family is (except for my two older kids who are away at college).
Hi! My name is Judy. I live between Sharps Chapel, Tn and Sebring, Fl. My real love is Lakewood, Ohio where I was born and lived for 42 years. However, there is no quilt shop in Lakewood, darn. Also love the team spirit in Knoxville, Tn. GO ORANGE!
Love the hop project. Also, enjoyed talking with you in Madison. I live in Woodridge, IL but spend my summers up in MINOCQUA, probably because I loved working at The Quilt Cottage! Enjoy some down time!
Sharon
Hi! My name is Sandy and I live in New Lenox, Ill. No shops in this town so I need to travel a little or mail order to get what I need. I love your shop and am so glad you mail. I wait at the mailbox for your stuff to arrive. My dream is to live in Arkansas and for sure will need your mail order then.
My name is Deb and I live near Richmond, VA. I’ve lived in Virginia for over 28 years, most of them in the house we built in the countryside. I love living in the country, with access to the city, but my heart is in Iowa, which is where I was born and raised.
Hi, my name is Tammy. I live in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin but grew up in Menomonee Falls Wi until about 10 years ago. I started quilting about about 25 years ago, and i would agree, the only thing i visit in Menasha is Primitive Gathering!!! I wish i lived closer to the shop than i already do, but overall i would say Wisconsin has some great places to shop & visit so i am pretty lucky.
Hey Lisa, Thank you so much for the pattern and I would love some of your fabric to jump accross the pond here as I love this range:) looking forward to seeing ‘snowman gatherings’!! My home is in the country-the emerald isles of Ireland but I would LOVE to live in the USA! I have the solution ……..you should think about opening a ‘Primitive Gatherings UK’ for your UK followers and I wouldn’t have to move???
I live in Harlan, Iowa, but my heart is in the little town I grew up next to — Maloy, Iowa which only had about 35 people living in it when I was a kid, and I’m sure there are fewer than that now. I lived on a farm to the west and Maloy had a beautiful Catholic Church and a telephone office (which gives you a hint as to how old I am) and Frank’s store where we loved to go pick out strawberry, orange and grape pop. Maloy’s most recent claim to fame is that Hilary Swank’s father bought the Catholic Church after it was closed. He was planning to make a retreat center out of it.
Love your stuff!! Just spent the weekend in Menasha. You are absolutely right, PG shop is what brought us there. We stayed at your beautiful home and Terri cooked. It was the best food ever. Your mom is great. Looking forward to seeing you at Grubers next Monday!
Hi, I am Connie and I am from Columbia City, Indiana. I have lived here my whole life and I do love it. I just wish that we had a quilt shop!
Oh, I almost forgot to tell you, I love your project!
Hello I live in beautiful Green county, my address is Albany, I love my home and my country living, I like the Albany Library & thrift store, other than that I never go to town but the place I work, shop & play is Madison, WI. Doesn’t get any better! I am lucky enough to be coming to your shop this Saturday on my way to Door County for a week long quilt retreat. Looking forward to visiting Primitive Gatherings. Thank you for all your beautiful inspiration. Barb Glaeser
My name is Suzanne and I live in a small town in Northern Vermont (population 3,500…there are more cows than people here). I live on a beautiful country dirt road where traffic is minimal and I can go and get my mail in my PJ’s if I want (and no one would know). I can’t imagine living anywhere else. You have your privacy, yet the community is so close that whenever anyone is in need, there are many, many people rushing to lend a helping hand or a prayer. My heart is nowhere else but here.
Hi Lisa!
I have to say that your pattern with the candy squares is by far my favorite! I love, love, love it!
My name is Joy and I live in McKinney, Texas, 20 miles north of Dallas. I am much like you…we have lived here for almost 5 years now but have never really felt that connection of a hometown. My husband is retired USAF (22 years). Our last assignment was in Wichita Falls, Texas. We were stationed there for 10 years (not a common term). Wichita Falls felt like home. We are small town people; the hustle and bustle of the Metroplex is just not our cup of tea. We stay in McKinney because the schools are exceptional and our two children have absolutely flourished here! So, who knows where our “hometown” will be in 3 years after our youngest graduates high school. ๐
Hi…I’m Kris and I’m from McCook Nebraska….and of course I’m a huge Husker fan! GO BIG RED! I love college football and qulting….My town of McCook is a nice place to live. We really don’t have much to brag about here, though the high school football is good on friday nights.. My true hometown where I grew up is 25 miles to the east….Cambridge also has a great high school football tradition. I love you wool patterns and enjoy your blog…
Cheryl. Home to me is Cave Creek AZ! I still consider Doylestown Pennsylvania my hometown, even though we have lived here for 22 years! I look out from my window at some of the most beautiful mountains in the West (just a bit biased ;)). One of the best things about living here, is our local quilt shop! Oh yes, they have lots of Primitive Gatherings books and wool kits. What’s not to love out all your creations!
I have lived in Ottumwa, IA all my life and its home. I would love to move to Branson, MO where my sister lives but that won’t happen. Thanks for all the great giveaways and love your designs.
I’m Shawna and I live in Springfield, OH. I grew up in the Rocky Mountains – in UT and CO – and they will forever be my home. I just wish I could move all my friends and family out there. It would be wonderful!
Hi, my name Toni Anne. I live in New York in the south eastern part of Long Island in a town called Yaphank. Do I love it, I guess I do. My parents live around the corner, to be close to us and their only grandchild (my son A.J.). I have the best neighbors in the world. We live on an Island, we’re close to Manhattan and a few hours to the Adirondack Mountains. I don’t think (for me) it gets better than this. I’d love to come your way and see your shop it sounds wonderful. ;-> Toni Anne
I live in Milledgeville, GA, a town close to the center of the state. While we’ve been here for almost 27 years, it has never felt like a true “hometown.” We don’t have any quaint little shops or quilty shops that I would love to frequent. The closest quilt shop is at least 1 1/2 hours away. But we are here and as far as I know, plan to stay. I’d love to win some beautiful Primitive Gatherings fabric! Thanks for the chance!
My name is Dana and I live in O’Fallon, IL (about 14 miles east of St. Louis, MO). I find I am just the opposite of you – I grew up in the next town over (and never even came to my current town as a kid – there was nothing here!). I moved here after college and have lived here nearly half my life now, so I feel that this is home.
My name is Phyllis and I live in Longmont, Colorado. We love our town and living here in Colorado is incredible. We are blessed with gorgeous weather and awesome quilters. I love Primitive Gatherings.
I am Brenda and I live in Epsom, NH a small town. My hometown is actually the next town over and would still really like to live there. I do like where I live but I guess my heart will always be where I grew up.
I live in Fall River MIlls, Ca. We moved here in 03 from Smith Valley, Nv. I had been there for 32 years, and raised my family there. It was a hard move, but I cowgirled up, and made it. We are in ranching, and I don’t have a lot of quilting time. I joined the local quilt guild, a month or so after moving here. It was wonderful, and all my friends here seem to belong. Best group of ladies in town. ๐ . I couldn’t have made it without them. Also try to go to the Thurs AM quilting group-The firehouse quilters. Because we get to use the Soldier Mountain Vol Firehouse, thats what we call ourselves. But got to admit part of my heart is still in Smith Valley. If my husband is happy, then I am happy, and that is where my happy heart home is. As long as I get to quilt and have quilting friends. Would love to win a pack of the colors you used in your pattern. Using those colors in the Temecula stars block of the week. Great colors and great project you put together. Good job Lisa.
Greetings from Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan CANADA! I love my hometown. Born and raised here. Wasn’t planning on it but married a farmer – we live on what used to be my uncles farm. Raised 2 beautiful boys. The lord new me better than I knew myself. Isn’t it wonderful how life turns out?! I love everything Primitive Gatherings! And wool – am addicted to wool these days! Thanks for the chance at a giveaway! Love your free pattern – thanks!
Hi, I’m Terri from Lawton, Michigan. I live 5 miles from town and it’s a very small town, no stoplights, but home to Big T and Decoy Duck’s restaurants (both yummy!). We’re close enough to Kalamazoo that I have access to quilt shops so that’s a plus. Love the small town life! Also loving your Summer BOW wool project.
Hi, I’m Melanie and I live in Canton, GA. But my heart is really in Arizona, which is where I am originally from and definitely feel a pull to. Thank you for the great giveaway!
My name is Shawn and I live in Michigan. It is the only place I have ever lived and I love it… the great lakes are the best. I could do without the long winters though. Thanks for the chance to win.
Tazewell, TN is my adopted hometown and I have lived here for 31 years-much longer than my “real” hometown!! This town has truly made me who O am tody-911 Dispatcher, farm girl, quilter, crafter, Grammy, -you name it! I would not change a thing! Just celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary yesterday with my high school sweetheart! Let’s just say we were very young teens (17) when we married!!
When I was graduated from college, my parents moved from Iowa to Weyauwega so although it isn’t my home town, when my folks have lived in the the area for nearly 40 years I feel like the Fox River Valley is my home area. Love your shop, the sisters will be visiting you in October when we are in town celebrating Mom’s and Dad’s 86th and 87th birthdays. Thanks for the give away.
Hi, my name is Elaine. I live on the central coast of California, San Luis Obispo county and I have to say its a slice of paradise. Mild weather, friendly people and beautiful! I came up here 42 years ago from southern Califirnia to attend Cal Poly and I’m still here. Pace of life s slower and our little town even has been on the Oprah show… It’s been deemed ” The Happiest City” in America, my heart is here…
My hometown, Ottumwa, IA, has lots of pretty parks. One nice thing is that it’s somewhat centrlly located to see many things in the midwest. But, I’m a transplant and my heart will always be on the Oregon coast. Just LOVE your site, products, etc. Would love to win. Your little quilt is adorable and I’m going off to make. Can’t wait to see you and all your goodies at the AQS show in Des Moines. Sure hope that is one stop you’re planning on making:)
I live in terrell, Texas. It’s nice and hot here but I live out in the country and really love it, Don’t know about much famous except that’s there’s a state hospital here and sometimes when you tell people you live in Terrell they will ask how close I live to it.
I live near Elmwood NE, but out in the country so I don’t consider living in that small town, but the community of quilters is great! I grew up about an hour away and I think the home is where you make it! Love the country living!
Also love Primitive Gatherings!
I live in a small town called Big Rock, Il. We have lived here for 40 years and love the quietness of it and the friendly people. Stayed at the Gathering last year and enjoyed it and loved your shop as well.
Lisa my hometown is Rice Lake and I am currently living in Eau Claire. My new favorite place is our land near Birchwood. We hope to build a cabin there next summer. It will be tucked into the woods. It’s such a pieceful spot that it’s hard to get in the truck and come home on Sunday nights. I love your wool projects, they are just the greatest.
Oops, I think I left my comment on the wrong post! lol It’s early here, what else can I say? My name is Beth Strand and I live in Oregon City, Oregon. I love my (for me) little town of 30,000. I say little because I was raised in Orange County, California. However, there are days I long for the beach and the feeling of driving on Pacific Coast Highway!
My name is Janet….my hometown is Fowler, Kansa (pop 500). I acutally live on a farm 15 miles from town. Although I don’t “Love” my hometown…I certainly love my farm!!!
My name is Mary Jo and I live in a suburb of Detroit but was born and raised in the city of Detroit. I moved out when I was 21 and have lived in Detroit suburbs ever since. My dream home would be in Fairbanks, Alaska. Our daughter lived there for a year following law school and I visited a lot but couldn’t convince her to stay there.
I’ve visited Menasha several times just to shop at Primitive Gatherings. It’s well worth the 9 hour drive.
My name is Karen and I live in central Arkansas, we have lived in so many places over the years though that I don’t know where my heart is – I do no that it is not really and truly here in central Arkansas – if I could live any place I wanted to it would be somewhere in the Rocky Mountains.
I live in Houston,TX and it is ok. My heart is definitely still in England where we lived for 2.5 years, but this is home for now! Thank you for sharing about your home town!
Well, I am just a skip and a jump away from you in Mason City, Iowa. I have lived here all of my life. We have great local cuisine…greek, ribs, pizza, mexican. This is the birthplace and boyhood home of Meredith Wilson, and we have recently refurbished the Frank Lloyd Wright – Park Inn Hotel. It is fabulous. Right now we sit at about 28,000 people and sit mostly surrounded by corn and bean fields. Yes, I love it here. The changes are beautiful every season. We lost our local quilt shop about a year ago, but we are lucky to be within 30-45 minutes of 5 really good ones, so…life is good.
Hi, Lisa, my name is Betty. I moved to Madison WI four years ago and love living in Wisconsin. We love everything about Madison except I wish it were a little closer to Menasha and the shop
I love your addition of wool. I agree with you…nothing exciting about my town except that I am in the middle of California and can easily travel to quilt shows and shops in other places.
Hi Lisa! I’m Kathy, we got to chat at one of those “quilt shows”! I live in metro Atlanta, but my heart is really wherever family is…which is scattered from coast to coast! My oldest and family live here, so that is good! I can’t wait to see the Snowman Gatherings – I’m sure it will be as great as the other lines. Love the project, hope to win something!
Beautiful fabrics Lisa. Thank you for the wonderful quilt pattern. I live near Rockford, IL in a town right on the IL/WI border called South Beloit. I am really indifferent about this town and wouldn’t be upset if we had to move because really, there isn’t much here. I was raised in another small town five minutes from here and always wanted to live there after growing up and having my own family. I never did because property taxes are four times higher than where I am living and that also is another reason we’ve just stayed here. It’s a nice quiet town for the most part with under 5500 residents. I love that we can hop in our car and drive anywhere and not have the concern of a bigger town of traffic. I also love that we can drive an hour to Madison, WI or 1 1/2 hrs to Schaumburg, IL to do shopping at the larger malls and at our favorite store, IKEA. The drive into Schaumburg is enough for me of the busy traffic. LOL
I hope you did well at the quilt show in Madison. I really hoped again this year to get up there but as it has over the past three years something happened once again this year to prevent me from going. ๐ Hopefully next year I’ll finally make it up there. (I say that every single year)
Hi, my name is Joyce and I live in Palos Heights, IL. I have lived in the area my whole life. I would love to have your shop in my hometown! I have only been to your shop once, and just recently found your blog. Thank you for your posting and I hope to visit you soon.
I live in a small town called Genoa City WI. I have lived here all of my life. I can’t say that I love it here but it is my home. There is really nothing in our town and we have to drive a minimum of a half hour to get to any shopping. I am about 2 hours and 45 minutes from Primitive GAtherings and have never been there. We always shop your booth at the shows we go to. I think the first time we shopped your booth was in Houston and we loved it from then on. After taking your lecture in Madison, we are planning a trip to your shop in October or Novermber. Thanks for the pattern. It will help me as I start with wools.
YES by all means MODA is the best fabric company there is. My name is Sandi and I am from Sonora, CA where this city is my hometown. I was actually born in Jamestown where my mom and sister still live there. My mom’s house is directly across from Railtown where engine #3 is the famous train used in movies. I have a lot of autographs that I still have from famous movie stars. However, my heart belongs to Sonora, CA forever. It has become a much bigger city because of people moving here to retire and just get away. We are actually 2-3 hour drive from San Francisco. Just like to visit but not live there. Thank you so much for the quilt pattern and the chance to win your giveway.
Well, Lisa, if i lived in a small town with you and your quilt shop I would tag it a bit of heaven! I am blessed to live in two places. I call Houston my home from Nov. until mid-June. Then I bug all your wonderful ladies to change my BOM.BOWs address to Jackson, WY. This land calls to me and I travel with my five cats and dog (all rescue) to this enchanted land. It’s a little rugged, a little sophiticated and a lot QUIET. I span three seasons here, work at the Animal Adoptioon Center five afternoons a week, call these wonderful people my “family” and rejuvenate. I am truly blessed.
I’m Janet and I live in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. I’ve lived here for 10 years and I love it! It’s near the mountains and we have the most beautiful summers :0) Your fabric line is lovely – thanks for the chance!
Hi Lisa,
This is Peggy, the potter, quilter and mom/gramma. Currently I live and work in Saint Germain WI, way up north. I enjoy your posts alot, especially this one since it cements for me how blessed you are with your family, crew of employees and your business. Your posts don’t say it, but we all know how hard you all work to keep it all together. I have to admit I have gotten to know Menasha solely because of coming down to Primitive Gatherings!
Thanks for letting us into your family too.
When I think of the many places I have moved to in 59 years, mostly I consider Langlade (a speed bump east of Antigo) and my folks home on the Wolf River as my mostly hometown. But since they sold it years ago, it’s more a memory page. Living up north in vilas county has never seemed like home since this area is too seasonal to encourage a hometown feeling. But I love the woods, the soaring eagles and osprey. I guess my “heart” is wherever my daughters, Amanda and Brandy, are. All else is temporary. When I lived in Iowa, I could come north for my woods and water fix! I love the shores of Lake Superior from Duluth to Marquette, but best of all I love being with my grandkids, Anna and Andrew. Family is a blessing, but it takes hard work to achieve that. And all good things are worth working for.
That’s my home story.
Peggy
My hometown is Shawnee, Oklahoma. I grew up on a farm north of town, and I am the fifth generation of my family to live in the area. I think Shawnee is a great place to live and is home to two universities and has a rich heritage of industry and agriculture. Love your design for the hop!
Anna from Arlington VA, Great city, love it !!! Grew up in Washington, DC – great city too but Arlington feels more like home after living here 30 years. So much to do, culturally diverse, great restaurants, great parks and rec, nearby hiking along Potomac river and Great Falls, could go on and on. Cannot wait to finally meet you at the Dulles sewing expo next month. Your class was full so I guess I’ll just shop at your booth. Bring lots of stuff with you! Im telling all my quilting buddies to come out.
I have been waiting for this design! I saw it on your cutting table back when you showed a tour of your quilt studio, and have been watching for it ever since! LOVE this!! My hometown is Libertyville, IL, and I have to say I really like it here. It’s a great little town with big old houses and tall trees, fun shopping and eating, and lots for families to enjoy. I loved seeing your booth at the Madison show this year, and picked up some more wonderful woolie treasures to make. ๐ Looking forward to seeing you guys at the reinstated Chicago area International Quilt Festival next summer!!
I live in McCammon, ID–population 800, but I am from a suburb of Detroit. Talk about culture shock. I have lived here since 1999. It’s been a difficult transition, but I think I am finally starting to adjust. There is a great sewing/quilting community in Pocatello which is about 25 miles from here. I was just introduced to Lisa via Mary Fons’ show online!
I’m Julie and I live in Paducah, KY. I don’t have a “hometown” as I grew up in several places. What I do like best about living here is the AQS Quilt Show every spring! Primitive Gatherings has the best booth! Love the free project and would love to win a kit!
My name is Phyllis and I live in Mabelvale, Arkansas. This is actually a community outside Little Rock, the state capitol. My heart is really in the northwest part of the state where my daughter lives. I would love to someday move up that way to be closer to family.
Love the new Hometown blog post. I was raised in a small town outside of Atlanta that has since been consumed by Atlanta.
I love Jefferson GA where I was able to raise my daughter in a small farming community near Athens GA.
Hi Lisa! I live in Hollis, New Hampshire a quintessential New England/New Hampshire town and truly enjoy it. I have the pleasure of being in an agricultural community with fruit tree orchards and farms running throughout the town. We are close to the mountains, seacoast, and major cities like Boston. Lots of quilters here!
Small towns are always interesting that way! We have lived in Central Virginia for 16 years now, just outside Charlottesville, VA which as you know is all things Thomas Jefferson. We are from South Jersey and although there was no Jefferson, we had the Cowtown Rodeo and Richmond’s Ice Cream and on and on and on! So yes, maybe I like where I grew up better, but this area with the Blue Ridge Mountain and the Skyline Drive and the Appalachian Trail is by far, one of the most beautiful places in the country so we feel blessed to live here! And I get to work at Mr. Jefferson’s University (UVA) which can be very entertaining at times to say the least!
I live in Uithoorn, a small place near Amsterdam in the Netherlands. I love Amsterdam because of the many restaurants, shops, museums, canals… And two quilt shopss!
I live in Glen Dale, WV, and I like it here because it is pretty quiet yet close to many things, such as shopping and parks to visit. Lots of festivals are held throughout the year in various neighboring cities, and I enjoy visiting Oglebay Resort, which features a lake, paddle boating, walking trails, a nature center, and more.
Cute project! I live in my ‘adopted’ town of Laramie, Wyoming and it is truly ‘home’, now. It is always nice to go back to Canada to visit but I am always ready to come back home to Wyoming and the soothing muted colors and big, big sky.
I am sure your shop is the best place in town! We don’t have a fabric shop here but if we did I would love it and give it a lot of business. we do have a couple of handmade chocolate shops so I have to give them my money instead. My name is Kay and I live in Lincoln, England. I have lived here for 14 years and my children call it home but my heart is in London. I lived in London for over a decade and miss the shops, the theatres, the amazing multicultured lifestyle where you can eat any kind of food and know people from all over the world. Thank you for the generous giveaway.
HI! My name is Karen and I live in very small farming community of Richmond Twp. Michigan. I am surrounded by soybean fields and very tall corn fields. I keep expecting the baseball players from the fields of dreams to step out of one evening! I love to quilt, x-stitch and do any other projects that make our house a home for my family! Autumn is fast arriving in Michigan and it is my favorite time of the year! Hayrides! Apple picking! Sitting on the porch with a hot cup of tea! Watching the combines pick there harvest! Sleeping under piles of quilts!
I am NancyB ani live in Maple Grove, Mn. I guess my hometown is wherever I hang my hat. I often wish I lived in a small town. I was just in Menasha this past weekend with a great group of gals. We stayed in your wonderful home and ate great food cooked by Terri. I have to agree, the best part of Menasha is anything to do with PG. the best food?? Anything cooked by Terri. Looking forward to taking your class next Monday at Grubers.
My hometown is Plymouth Nebraska. As much as I love that little town, I’m very happy to be living out in the country now. There is just nothing like the calm of the country.
Hey Lisa, My hometown is Franklin, TN set in the beautiful rolling hills of middle TN. I totally love my hometown and have lived here all but 3 years of my life. We have 3 great quilt shops here in Franklin and one of them carries your patterns. I met you on the quilting cruise and took all your classes. I came home with great projects and have been a fan ever since. Thanks for the great project. I can’t wait to get started.
I love your fabric and your patterns. I am working on one right now! My Hometown is Kirkton, Ontario, Canada. We really enjoyed seeing you and your booth in Grand Rapids. Keep up the great work!
Hi Lisa! I live in Plymouth, Wisconsin… but I can’t wait to leave. I want to live in Minocqua… that is where my heart is… up in the pine trees and lakes so my husband can fish and i can quilt :o)
My hometown is Mishawaka, Indiana but I left there in the late 60s. It was a nice hometown to grow up in, but my heart has always been living country-I loved loved living in Denver co especially the mountains, that was back in the 70s. My true heart now belongs to the ozarks of missouri where we retired to about 9 years ago. eldridge, mo is the tiny village near by, we live in the woods-awesome! I just love it here.
I love your awesome giveaway-yours is my favorite giveaway so far-would be so thrilled to win. thanks for the chance-I am off to copy your pattern thanks Kathy
Hi, I live in the Des Moines, Iowa area but I love the Rocky Mountains in Wyoming and we have been there so many times it feels like going home to me. I would love to live there. And since I have found Primitive Gatherings and your great teaching Lisa, I always have wool projects with me to work on. What could be better than being surrounded by beautiful mountains and working on something fun?
Hi Lisa,
My name is Lynn and my hometown is Manhattan, Illinois. Even though I haven’t lived there for 30 years, it will always be my home town. It was a small farming community and hasn’t changed much over the years. I only live about 8 miles away and my Mom still lives there so I get to visit often. Whenever anyone asks where I’m from, I automatically answer Manhattan! Love all things “Primitive Gatherings” and really enjoy your blog!
My name is Nanette and I’ve from Vancouver, WA. I’ve lived here most of my life and think the Pacific Northwest is one of the most beautiful places in the United States to live. I’ve been fortunate enough to have traveled to most of the 50 states at one time or another and actually lived in Tennessee for a year, but Washington is a place I’ll always want to call home.
I have lived in Grand Island, NE for 32 years, raised our 5 children here, but like you still don’t feel like this is my hometown. I was born in Germany as my Dad was in the Air Force & grew up living all over the country. My mother’s hometown which is 30 miles from here probably feels the most like home since we would move there whenever my Dad had to go overseas & my parents ended up retiring there. We have 3 quilt stores in this city of 50,000 which is pretty amazing & can travel to other good quilt stores all over the state. Thanks for your little pattern. I can’t wait to get start sewing with some of the candy charms.
I consider Cozad, NE my hometown. We are located on the 100th Meridian. I’ve lived in Cozad for 30 years. It is a small town where everyone knows each other. (Something my kids didn’t like when growing up, because they couldn’t get into trouble without everyone knowing.) My other hometown is Hastings, NE home of Kool-ade.
My home town is San Antonio, Texas. I’ve lived here my whole life & I like it a lot, but I am not sure if it is my “place”. I lived in New England for one year, 27 years ago, & *that* touched my soul…But life brought me back here & has not (yet anyway) made a clear opening for me to go anywhere else.
Thanks for the chance to win.
And, YES< Moda is *the best*.
Hi,, I live in Carrollton, Texas. Although I love it here, it is not my hometown. Home is still upstate NY and will be as long as I have family there and keep going back to visit. I love the wool/ fabric project as I am a quilter and a rughooker and love to do wool applique as well. Fun, quick project.
Connie
I’m not sure if where you live is your hometown or if where you were born is your hometown-so I will give both. I was born in Boon, MI, population maybe 100. I was taken there to be born MANY years ago in my Gpa & Gpa’s old farm house. They passed away a long time ago but my wonderful hubby and I still do drive-bys several times a year even though it is a very long way (an overnighter) from our present home. When I am sad-back I go! Now, since marrying “wonderful hubby” 20 yrs ago, my home is Dexter, MI, the hometown where I think Laurie Simpson was born. It’s a very nice town with a fairly new library, a brand new trail park system and a cemetery where President Millard Fillmore’s brother is buried. And if that’s not exciting enough-we can always go to Ann Arbor. I love your blog and was so pleased to see you vendored in Grand Rapids this year! Yea!
I’m Vio from Seattle, WA. I’ve lived here since I was 13 years old and it definitely feels like my home town. My heart will always hold Mexico (where I was born) in a special place, but Seattle is where I was “raised” and where I am raising my family. It’s a wonderful place.
Hi Lisa, I live in Comanche, Texas, have for about 5 years and I finally feel like I’m where I belong. We lived 60 miles south of here for 27 years, it felt like existing.
Hello, I live in Englewood,Fla gem of the suncoast. Is beautiful and have lived here for 33 years but my heart is back home new york-change of season and miss manhattan. love primitive anything and wool thanks for the great giveaway
Hi Lisa!
My home town is Flower Mound, TX. It is a nice suburb outside of the Dallas/Ft.Worth area to raise a family. It is not where I am originally from, but it is where I have raised my family the longest — 10yrs. Although we are not military, my family has moved a lot, and we have things about each area that we find to love. My home town is were ever my family is. Flower Mound — or Flo Mo as it is often referred to — is an easy going place that is a mixture of other transplanted families. Like all Texas towns, football is king. My dream is to make it back to Houston to see you there and get to shop in your booth. Back in 2006, I went with my Mom who recently passed away, and my sister. It is a memory that I treasure, and I have several projects that I bought on that trip that got me started loving wool including “Jack” and “Burl”. Snowman gatherings sounds like an awesome fabric line. I can’t wait to see it. I love your projects! Michelle S.
Hello,
thanks for the pattern. It’s gorgeous!
I live in a small town in Northern France (Europe). I love life here, the farmers’ market on Wednesdays and Saturdays, the belfry tower and the bells ringing on the hour, the Speculoos-flavored ice-cream for sale on the main square … Only thing missing: a quilt shop, so winning one of the prizes would be most welcome! Beatrice.
I do like my town, I have lived here in LaPorte, IN for 36 years and it is most definately home. If you ever get to LaPorte you must eat at Mucho Mas fresh Mexican Grill. We have 3 lakes in town which are great for boating or just a scenic drive.
Always thank you for your beautiful designs and the chance to win some wondrful fabrics.
Hi Lisa! My home town is Naples, Florida. You have visited near to my hometown, but I sure hope some day you will make it all the way south down here to Naples because you have a lot of fans in this quilting community. The beauty of Naples is the Gulf Beaches, the incredible expansive sky, and the weather; which I know you will be jealous of in just in few months when it starts to get cold up there. Thank you for your beautiful designs and your creative spirit. You inspired me to try wool applique, and I love it! Lisa Z.
My hometown (where I live) is Costa Mesa, CA – it’s just about 30 miles from where I grew up, but I consider Costa Mesa home. Love it? Well, no, but I do like it a lot – and I love my home, so I guess for me, hometown is wherever home is!
My home town is Dighton, KS. Lived away from there longer than I ever lived there but my mom and bro are still there and it will always be home. Even to my kids who never lived there!!! I like to say I am from Little D and presently live in the Big D (Dallas)! My small attempt at humor :0) I have the best quilting buddies here in Dallas so don’t plan on going anywhere any time soon.
I have lived in Milford, PA for a little over a year and it is starting to feel like home, but I am a Southern girl at heart. I still wave at people I don’t know and say “Good Morning” to strangers in WalMart – people think I am a little out there (but that is OK ’cause I think we would all be happier if people were a little more friendly). My heart is in Macon, GA while my roots are in Shelby, NC. Thanks so much for the chance to win!
I live in a smal village (population 400) in northern Germany and I feel like home. I lived for almost 20 years in Bremen, Germany (population 500000) and felt at home there too. The only thing missing is a quilt shop ;).
Greetings from Germany, Inka
My home town is Aldergrove BC Canada. I have lived in this area my whole life. I love this location firstly because my family all lives close by, but secondly because we live within a short driving distance to the ocean, the mountains and to the US border. All great vacation locations. Thans for the chance to win!
I was born in St. Paul, MN., lived in Chicago for two years which I don’t really remember, then back to St. Paul. I now live in Woodbury, MN with my husband of 46 years. 45 of those years have been here so Woodbury feels like my home town. It was mostly cornfields when we moved here and if you needed to shop or wanted to go out to eat or a movie, you went elsewhere! Now Woodbury is a huge suburb of St. Paul with over 65,000 people and every restaurant you could want!
I have fallen in love with Primitive Gatherings and have been fortunate enough to visit the shop two times. Wool applique is my favorite thing right now. I did both the pieced and wood BOW this year and kept up with both of them and also the freebie. I also did the miniature Home for the holidays and won a Blue Ribbon for it at the Washington County Fair!
I live in upper Westchester County, NY and am quite happy here. I have to say my heart is on the coast of Maine though, Boothbay Harbor or the Acadia area. We vacation there when we can, and I love it! Thanks for the giveaway.
I have the same thing going on. I live about 30 miles away from my home town which is the West Side of Grand Rapids Michigan. the west side was an ideal place to grow up though much has changed there now. I do just love Michigan. It is so pretty and the fall is stunning. We go for walks in the woods and there’s always a pond within a few miles. It is horribly crowded now and there seems no place for the wildlife to live.
Hi My name is Tina, My home town is New Orleans, LA. I now live in Destrehan, LA about 20-30 mins west of NOLA. I love my cities because of there uniqueness. Of course NOLA has Mardi Gras, French Quarter, Good music and great food. Destrehan has more of the old southern plantation feeling. With 2 plantation homes less than a mile from me on River Rd.Thanks for the give a way.
My heart too is in another place.I was born and raised in Ottawa Ontario Canada and moved to a farming community 50 miles away.I love a big city there things are so much more to do.Big stores are right there. Now 3 of our 4 daughters along with their families are in the city and I miss it more and more each day.The place we live now was a good place to raise children , It is my hubby’s hometown and my DH loves farming so I guess this is where we will be.
My name is Judith, and I live in Victoria, Texas 10 miles out-of-town where I met my DH. Mostly our home for the last 12 yrs. has been on the road for his work. So many beautiful places, we called home temporary, but nothing is more better than our own home. Thank you for sharing…Judith, Texas
I just moved here to Yorktown, VA. Moving is common for us, because my husband is in the Army. I’m from South Dakota, but as of this May, I have no family left there. I guess I do the best to feel “at home” where ever we are. There is a common saying, “Home is where the Army sends you.” So far, I like it here, but we haven’t done too much exploring yet.
Hi I was born and raised where there is 9 months of winter and 3 months of hard sledding!! Really most call it Michigan but my my heart is where my parents loved the most and wintered there due to health issues for the past 20 plus yrs, that is Black Canyon City in AZ. They have passed over the last 3 yrs and knew How much I love it there they left it to me. That is my very own peace of mind place where I box up and send quilting stuff to arrive 2 days after I do and sew my heart out for 3 or 4 months! Then of course I ship back the day I am leaving!!
Hi Lisa! I’m Kathi and I live in a sweet little village in western New York called Lima. It’s famous for (surprise!)—- the Lima Bean Festival! There is a lima bean cooking contest, bed races and all sorts of other fun activities.
I live in Salem, Oregon. I would prefer to live in a small town but then I might not have 4 quilt shops to enjoy. I guess its a trade off. Love your work. Only recently got into working with wool and I love it!
Hey Lisa, I’m a farm girl from SW Iowa (Massena, pop.300)and I have meet you a couple of times. Once at Primitives of the Midwest and the other time at the Des Moines AQS show. Love that you vend there so we can stay up-to-date on what you are doing. We will be seeing you in a few weeks. Oh Boy, Oh Boy!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I actually grew up in Audubon, IA and then married a farm boy from where both of my parents were originally from. I’ve always felt that when I married and moved to Massena that I was coming home because so many of my family relatives live in this area. I feel truly blessed that I was able to raise my family in a small loving community. Keep cranking out all the wonderful primitive wool and quilt designs. But be sure to make some time for you….it’s good for the soul.
I live in Tennessee, which I love, but was born and raised to adulthood in Alabama so I’ll always be first and foremost an Alabama girl in my heart. Thanks for chance to win!
Hi I am Liz from Arlington Hts, Il and I suspect by evenings end there will be so many replies to your blog that it will knock off the whole blog. LOL Illinois is Illinois can’t say very much about it except it’s the home of governors who usually go to jail, politicians that leave you wondering and I am sorry I left Michicgan. The people however are wonderful as it is in most places. My town is nice an politically clean one quilt shop and one knit shop who needs more? I never knew I would be fit for the dogs but if Jester and his pal choose me that would prove my case. Thanks for Lisa who will forever be famous for her shop on Menasha.
Hi Lisa,
My name is Bonnie and I live in the town of Menasha right across the bridge from your shop.
I am a fairly new quilter, started out doing traditional stuff, then discovered wool and your shop.
I agree with you that the best thing about Menasha is Primitive Gatherings and I consider myself lucky to
be so close.
I live in Coppell, TX – there are good and bad things about everywhere. I grew up about 60 miles from here but it’s no longer my home. I love my town because my friends live here and my kids were raised here. It’s close to DFW airport, everything Dallas and Fort Worth has to offer – shopping, tex-mex, Dallas Stars, Mavericks, art, The Dallas Symphony, concerts, etc. I love that my family – all my brothers and sisters and parents and in-laws – live within an hour’s drive. I love that we don’t get long, cold winters but summers are somewhat of a challenge when we have many days of 100+ temps. I love that there are fabric stores and quilt shops close around. Overall, I’m grateful for where I am and probably would fight to stay and not have to move.
I was born in Newport, RI, lived in Fl for about 40 years and now call Dallas, Oregon my home. Small town of 15,000, has a quilt shop and fabulous people. Love your project am starting it tomorrow. Thanks
I live in Belgtrade Minnesota, a small town of about 500. I grew up here and lived in big cities for many years and finally arrived back at home. I love being here where it is a peaceful life and I always feel safe. Love all your products escpecially anyhting wool.
Hi I’m Pat and originally I’m from New Castle, Pa and I loved it. But I came to Ohio when I was 10 and to Berea Ohio when I started to work. Been here 55 years and I really love it. We have a college, arts, good hospitals, great library system and plenty of recreation called “The Emerald Necklace” and everything within walking distance for me.
Hey Lisa,
I live in Garland, Texas, suburb of Dallas, sooooo you know I live in the big city world and have for 44 years! My hometown is Little River, Texas, population 1200. It was a shock to move to a highly populated area! I agree that Primitive Gatherings and the Gathering are the nicest and best places in Menasha! Love your shop and can’t wait to see it again, soon! Your hard work is appreciated by your fans and faithful customers. See y’all soon!!!
I live on a farm outside of Monkton, Ontario, Canada. I love this town! It has the best little library with the greatest librarian. We also have a great community center and arena. A friendly town where everyone works together to improve it!
Hi, I’m Wanda wejust moved to this area in Iowa,so no it’s not home…actually home would be in another state which is Nebraska .Thanks for sharing and your giveaway!
My address is Elwood, Nebraska, but we live between several towns and have only had this address for 8 years. Lexington, Nebraska is the next town over and that is where our kids went to school and where we go to church and do our shopping so that is really home.
Hi ! My name is Beth, and I live in Jamestown, ND, (pop. 17000 approx. ) but my hometown is Luverne, ND ( about 60 miles from Jamestown, and with a population of 28 when my DH and I are up there. ~ yes… 28.) I prefer my hometown, in fact, so much, that we are restoring a 1917 home there and will be moving there in a couple of years…hopefully we are done with the house by then ! ! ! Thanks for the opportunity to enter the contest !
I currently live in Long Beach, CA but am originally from a suburb of Chicago, Maywood. My heart is in CA where I raised my kids and who all are definitely Californians but sometimes when I am asked I answer with Chicago…I think that’s about the lake, food and all the folks I loved growing up. Thanks for the opportunity to win some great Moda fabrics too.
It’s not so much about the hometown for me as it is the area I’m in at the moment. And that “area” is in the country. I feel very much “at home” if I’m anywhere but the city.
My hometown is in Casnovia, MI — about 20 minutes North of Grand Rapids (I saw you at the quilt show but didn’t get a chance to say hi). This is a very nice small community and I grew up here so love it!! Thanks for a wonderful giveaway.
For the last ten years I have called Murrieta, CA my home. I enjoy the weather, scenery, and my kids live in San Diego but sometimes Illinois where I spent the first 55 years of my life seems more like home.
Just love the project – it is going to the top ten of the to do list!
My hometown is a little town in Southern Utah called Washington. I love it. It is homey and quaint. We are also surrounded by 3 great quilt shops so life is good! Thanks for designing beautiful fabrics and I love this cute project ๐
I am a mother of four, quilt teacher, seamstress. I am from Oil City, PA. I used to feel like this
town was a good place to be but since I divorced after 27 years you see things in a different light.
My place or hometown is with my quilting friends and quilting. I love your shop and quilts. Quilting heals the soul.
I live in Sarasota, Florida and do not like it at all! Summers are way too humid and hot and winters are too crowded with tourists! I don’t really have a hometown as my father was in the military and we moved a lot when I was a child.
Hi, my name is Samantha. I live in Surrey, BC Canada. I love loving here because it is where my family is. There is lots to do here whether we go into the city or go see historical sites. Or if you want to hike there are plenty of places to go ๐
Hi Lisa, I live in a small town in Michigan, Lake City, population about 900. My husband and I have lived here our whole life and love it here. It is so nice to go anyplace and know everyone there. That is in the winter, but in the summer the population increases 10 fold because we have a beautiful lake. We think it is the prettiest lake in the state. Earlier this summer, we were in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, and made a special trip to visit your shop. It was worth the trip!!
I grew up in Colorado and live in Utah now. I’ve always lived near the Rocky mountains and have loved where I live, but my favorite place on earth is near the sea.
My hometown is in rural IN and didnt’ have much there pop 1,500. I now live in Lafayette In and love it! Home to Purdue university and lots of culture! I fell in love with Primitve Gatherings at Chicago quilt show also. Great candy project as always!
My name is Misty. I live in Godley, Texas. I have live her since I was about 4 so it is truly my hometown. I love living here and I am so glad I am able to raise my daughter here as well!
Hi, I’m Bunny and I leave near Elora, Ontario. It’s a quaint little town that attracts tourists. It’s interesting that people come from miles away to visit and yet I spend very little time in the shops. Maybe if there was quilt shop that would change!
I am Tammy and live in Woodland, CA. I have lived in a few places, all within 30 miles of each other! I feel like the town I spent my teen years and early twenties is my home town. Even though I have lived in Woodland 25 years!!!! I still go to Davis, CA for the movies, dinners and the farmers market. So I get my fix!
My home town is Copperas Cove Tx, which is a bedroom community for Fort Hood TX. I have lived here for 49 years and I do call it home, however, we have an HEB grocery store and a Walmart. If you want to shop, be it quilting or clothes, etc, you must go to Austin which is 65 miles away. Thank goodness for the web. I so enjoy your blogs and of course your “stuff”. Look forward your seeing you in Houston in November.
I consider my hometwon to be Clara City, Minnesota–even though I really live 10+ miles out of town. I love the small town atmosphere and knowing my neighbors. I also LOVE your project out of the candy!! Very cute
My name is Carol and I live in the northwestern part of Nebraska. I have lived in this area my entire life. I am a ranchers wife and wouldn’t trade it for anything. I love to quilt and watch Cornhusker football. Thanks for the great give aways.
Hi Lisa,
First of all, thanks very much to you for hosting the hop, and to Moda (yes, best fabric ever!) for supplying the candy for the giveaways!
Secondly, my name is Erin and I live in Evanston, Il. But, like you, my heart is somewhere else.
My husband and I moved to Chicago last year for his job. We’re originally from Vancouver BC. It’s been a tough transition but we’re making it happen. We were just back to Vancouver for 2 weeks in the summer and although it was nice to be there, it was also nice to get back ‘home’ to Illinois. ๐
Thanks for everything Lisa!
I’m Rose and I live in Peru, IL which is centrally located in the state. Not too far from any of the big cities! I have always lived within 5 miles of where I grew up so this is “home” to me.
You are so right…Moda is the best! I live in Waucoma, Iowa…grew up near New Richland, Minnesota. My hubby has a job that has made him move several times. I have found my real home is where he is….sappy right??
This is Jo from Lees Summit Missouri a suburb of Kansas City. I like my town but over the years it has grown a lot, and I yearn for a small town as long as it has a quilt shop!
Love your moda candy project Lisa! Looking forward to seeing your snowman gatherings. I sure don’t know how you do it all. My hometown is Peachtree City GA. I have lived here for 17 years and do really like it. If I could live anywhere it would be in the mountains but this is a good place too.
I live in Selah, Washington – a small town in the center of the state. I have lived in this area all my life (that is to say, quite a few years) and I love the small town feel and the small farms and orchards. We aren’t too far from the big city – Seattle or Portland – if we want to check those out but our daily lives are quiet here. Thank you for the opportunity to win some lovely fabric. P.S. I love your patterns, they are just my taste.
I currently live on the edge of a large city in Yorkshire, but my real hometown is a small town about 25 miles north of London. It was the world’s first Garden City, and also home of the world’s first traffic roundabout.
I now live in Appleton, WI after living and raising our children in Fond du Lac, WI. However, Lisa I agree with you, in that, my heart is in where I grew up in my childhood, which was Menasha! What is the best part of Menasha? Without a doubt, it is Primitive Gatherings which I wish would have been in business when I lived there! Your girls are the best and your store is just the therapy my doctor ordered!
Demetria W
Fox River Grove IL has been my home town for 21 years. Living here is wonderful because we are an hour outside of Chicago and an hour from WI what more can you ask for. We can pick and choose what kind of day we want fast pace or relax in the country. Or stay where we are at HOME!
I am from Buffalo MN – just 30 miles Southeast of Gruber’s Quilt Shop. I have to check out your class there!
Yes, it feels like my hometown because I have lived here for 40 years and raised both of my children here. I live on the lake which is the best place in the world!
I live outside a small town in Alabama. The name is Trinity and it is very small, a spot on the road. We are outside of Decatur and Huntsville. I have lived here all my life. I recently moved back across the road from my mom in the country and I love living in the country. It is so much more peaceful. I don’t miss the train noise I used to live with and the traffic noise. Although some of the night noises here are scary, trying to figure out what it is. I still love it. Thanks for a chance to win in the giveaway.
My name is Dyann and I live in Gilbert, Arizona where the sun shines more than 310 days a year. I love the sunshine and our winters are fabulous. I grew up in a small farming community a few miles from where I live now, but progress has changed it into a booming town that I don’t recognize but I still have many wonderful memories of growing up there. Home is where the heart is and my heart is here in Arizona where my children and grandchildren live.
I live in the farmland of Eastern Oregon, I like it fine here, but the mountains are always calling. We do live close to some of the mountains of Idaho & Oregon. Love your fabric & your patterns. Wool is good! I’m just wondering – would you like to move to E.O.?
Hi, I’m Barb and I live in Winterset, Iowa home of Fons and Porter! I have the joy of living in the country but only 20 minutes from Des Moines and big city shopping! Lisa, you ate lunch with us last year at the DesMoines AQS show.
Loved meeting you cause we’d just spent and hour (and lots of money)in your booth and there you were in the food court sitting alone when we asked you to join us! Loved hearing about your quilt shop and hope to visit it some day.
I live in the country near a small town in central Minnesota. I love our home but not that connected to the town although I like it. I grew up in Minneapolis and left when our 1st child was one. I liked Minneapolis and now 3 of my 6 cheldren live there. But the country is a great place to raise children.
O O Ohhhh! This fabric has been on my wish list!! My hometown is Pinedale, Wyoming, 77 miles from Jackson Hole. I LOVE it. It’s a little mountain town, and very quiet and peaceful ๐
Had a wonderful time with your class and booth at Madison. I live in a small town in Illinois, but at heart I’m a city girl from Chicago. Gotta love all that ethnic food! Can’t tell you how much i enjoy your style!
My name is Janet Glover and I live in Buford, GA which is about 30 miles north of Atlanta. I was born about 5 miles from where I now live. I have lived here all my life and I can’t imagine living somewhere else. Of course, over the years the area has grown and changed a lot. Buford is the home of Lake Lanier and the Mall of Georgia. I love all things Primitive Gatherings and look forward to seeing them in Oct at the Georgia Quilt Show.
I’m Linda and we live in Strasburg, PA in our 18th century fieldstone farmhouse. It’s filled with quilts, including Garden of Stitches which is currently resting on a loveseat. We love everything about this area – from the farms to the fabric stores. It’s only recently that local shops are carrying primitive type fabrics thanks to your recent lines. Thanks for all you’ve done to spread our love of wool and all things primitive.
Lisa, It was so good to see you in the town where I live – – Madison, WI My hometown is actually Gaylord, MI but I haven’t lived there in 38 years….odd how we think about hometowns! I agree completely with your comments about Menasha — when I go to the Fox Valley (frequently for work) Primitive Gatherings is my destination of choice and my reward when I’ve worked hard at my job. Driving home after a stop at Primitive Gatherings I feel this sense of calm. Thanks for coming to Madison last week – -we were glad to haveyou in town.
Hi Lisa! I live in Anderson SC in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mts..for past 10 yrs…lived in Houston and Dallas for 25 years but born and raised on a farm in Western NY. We live on Lake Hartwell so enjoy the water and woods. Guild is where most of my friends live!!! Love your STUFF….met you a few years ago in Paducah and since in Atlanta…you are down to earth and a talented designer…we are so lucky for you to share your talents! Stop by for coffee on the deck anytime!
I live in Covington, Ga. also known as “The Hollywood of the South” . There have been many movies and television shows filmed here. I suppose there are other places I would like to visit but anywhere in Georgia would be suit me fine. Thanks!
Love your project. It is so sweet!
I live in Roanoke, TX and we are home to the original Babe’s Fried Chicken. They don’t offer a menu because they only offer Chicken Fried Steak and Fried Chicken. For sides… Mashed Potatoes and Cream Corn. That is it. They have built Main St around this little hole in the wall.
I don’t think Home is just the town you live in but the surrounding areas. I don’t spend any time in my town (unless I’m home) since our town is so small. No shame in that.
We live in Eagle Mountain Utah. We just moved here from California at the end of last year. I am really enjoying it though. The weather is better suited to me than the desert we left behind. I melt in the heat. It has been hot here, but not as hot as in the California desert! I can’t wait for cooler weather and snow. Hopefully we get lots more than we did last year. We really need it! Thank you for the chance to win.
My name is Cheryl and home to me is where I live although some places are better homes than others. We have lived in IL, CA, SC and GA and are now back in IL to stay.We lived in Charleston, SC when my husband was in the Navy and I loved it there. I agree that Primitive Gatherings is the only draw to Menasha WI and having been at your retreat, Terry’s food was good too. I love your wool designs and hope that I am one of the lucky winners.
Thank you Lisa!
I live in Temecula, Ca, which is in Southern California. I’ve been here for over 20 years, so I consider it my Hometown. I was born in Southern California, but my first hometown is very run down and a scarey place to go, so I won’t even mention it. Temecula has hills and vineyards and orchards, lots of people and two great quilt shops and loads of wonderful, friendly people!
I live in Charleston, SC. You are my favoirte quilt store hands down. I’m coming for a visit at the end of September just for that reason. We are going to a Brewers and Green Bay packers game while we are there. Wool is one of my favorite things to work with, but quilt shops here don’t carry it. Guess it’s too hot. Thanks for the give-away. Love your fabric lines.
Hi! I am Joan Jeffers and I have lived in Reno, NV for 16 years. It is a wonderful place to live…I feel I could work for the chamber of commerce. We have the gorgeous Sierra Nevada mountains and about 30 minutes from Lake Tahoe. On top of that, we have 4 seasons…I am originally from Louisiana where we have one season…hot. Summer nights are cool and winters give us lovely snow that seldom stops us from doing what we want. Reno almost always has a breeze and for that reason we gave been dubbed the City of Trembling Leaves. We are a beautiful green oasis in the high dessert. I love it…come and visit!
My name is Regina and we have lived in the Village of Holland, Ohio for 40 years .Almost everything I need is within 5-10 mins. from my house, The park and the library are at the end of my street. BUT it’s 20 mins. to the closest quilt shop. But I’ll drive for fabric. Love your little pattern, thanks for the give away.
Hi Lisa, My name is Marjan and I’m from Nootdorp, a small town in the Netherlands near The Haque. We also lived on Bonaire a Dutch iland in the Caribian. In that time I went to Houston to The quiltfestifal you signed your book for me but probably can’t remember sibce you meet maby people. My friends and I are planning a trip to WI and your shop or maybe a retreat are on top of our list! Love your designs and fabrics.
My name is Diane and I live in Visalia, CA. We’ve lived here for 35 years, and although we are originally from the Midwest, this is now home and we really enjoy it. We’re midway between our two daughters – a good place to be!
Gulfport, MS is, for the past year, now my home and (rumor has it) where it will be for the rest of my life ๐ However, OK is and always will be where my heart remains. It was where I was born and spent most of my life, until 15 years ago when I married a corporate guy…which meant moving about every 4 years. Amen to Moda being the best!
I live in a small community about 20 minutes north of Victoria, BC, which is on Vancouver Island. It’s not my original hometown, but I do like it here. There’s plenty of farmland around, so lots of fresh produce, eggs, etc., all available within walking distance. I love your sweet little pattern, so have downloaded it. If I don’t win, I will definitely be making it.
Hi Lisa, My name is Karen. I am hoping to meet you in Oct. when I am coming to spend some time at your place with a friend. I have heard wonderful things about your place and follow your blog. I love working with wool and I can’t wait to get my hands on yours. I live in my home town and just love it. I was born and raised here. I love this little pattern and would love to win a kit to make it. Thanks, Karen
My name is Hildy and I’m from Munich, Germany, and for me it’s the best cities in the world! I was born here, raised here, still live here … and will always live here. I love that although we’re a big city with about 1.4 million people the city still have a small town flair. Thanks for the giveaway and greetings from germany, Hildy
My name is Stacey Larson and I’m from Apex, NC. I do love where we live but “my heart” is in Jamaica, Vt. at my Aunt & Uncles Farm / Bed & Breakfast. It is so peaceful and a special place for me. The view is amazing and it’s just an awe that is priceless. I hope to come and visit Primitive Gatherings and it is a dream I have.
thanks for all you do – from on of your Rock Star Fans ๐ from Raleigh
My name is Christine and I live in Chalon sur Saรดne, Burgundy, France. I like my town and I don’t speak very well english, sorry. Yours fabrics with colours red and blue are beautiful and I like the free with the sheep. Good end of afternoon
My name is Wendy and I live in San Diego California. I was born in Pasadena CA so didn’t really move too far away from my original “home town” but SD is the best place to live. The weather is perfect all the time. Being along the coast brings an even climate year round. I wouldn’t trade it with any other place. I love your booth at the shows I go to. I hope to make it to your shop some day. Please pick me for your wonderful gifts.
I live in Taylorsville Utah the same town I was born in. I love old Taylorsville back when it was mostly a farming community. Now it is a suburb of Salt Lake City with all the traffic and people and lines to stand in if you want anything. When I was 16 my Dad took a job in Kellogg Idaho for 4 years. I thought I had moved to the end of the earth but learned to love it.It is a BEAUTIFUL place and I would move back in a heart beat.
I grew up an air force brat and can’t say I really have just one hometown, I have many! After a long stinit in the DC metro area I relocated to Austin, TX last year and so far enjoy it. I think the beach will eventually call my name though, so I’ll keep adding to my hometown list ๐
Hi! I’m Chris from Geneva, IL. My original home town is Sterling,IL, but I haven’t lived there since I got married. When we moved to Geneva, it was a small, quaint town. We really liked the ‘small town’ atmosphere. Now, 30 years later, it’s grown and feels more like a suburb of Chicago. There are many quilt shops in this area that are easy to get to. Course, I wish I could visit Primitive Gatherings all the time!
I live in Lehi, Utah, but consider Clayton, CA my hometown. I grew up in Clayton and loved the small town. We have also lived in Tigard, Oregon and loved the home feeling we received there. I love gardening along with quiliting and especially four seasons.
Hi Lisa – I moved to the Neenah/Menasha area the same time you opened your shop. You, your employees and fellow quilters welcomed me into the community with open arms. I am forever grateful for the hospitality. Sue D.
I live in a small community in the Central Washington Cascade mountains. While it is beautiful here, my heart is still on the west side of the mountains in Everett, washington.
I live near Rochester, MN where I was transplanted about 20 years ago. Having been a military wife and moving all over the country, I guess where I hang my hat is home. I was originally from Philadelphia, Pa. I have been to your shop and it is a great place to visit.
I live in a small town for California – Visalia, which is in Central California but I do love it. I was raised in a big City (San Jose) and after living here and then visiting home, I wonder how I survived all that traffic every day. I have lived here now for 24 years so I do now consider this home. And luckily my folks moved out of San Jose to an even smaller town than mine so it’s a pleasure to go visit them.
I am Joanna from Fall River, Massachusetts and this is my hometown, but no longer where my heart is. I would love to live in a more rural area and hope I get to one day. The advantage to where I live is that we are near beaches and wild life refuges so when I need to see that kind of beauty it isn’t hard to get to.
Just love the project you made. Thanks so much for it.
My name is Carolyn. I was born in FL and have lived here most of my life. I have to agree with you about “hometown” – I grew up in Orlando and my parents still live there, so I think of that as my hometown, even though I no longer live there.
Hello! My name is Linda and I live in Montana in the beautiful Rocky Mountains;we are retired here and I’m enjoying lots of Quilting Time now! Thank you for your Blog+neat giveaway! HAPPY STITCHING !
Hi! My name is Cindi and I live in Stansbury Park, Ut. As much as I like it here…my heart is in Sandy Ut where I lived for over 30 years and raised my family.
My name is Donna andI live in Baraboo, WI, with my husband and our dog. We moved here from the Chicago, IL suburbs and YES, we do love it here. It is a small town with the Ringling Circus World as it main attraction. It may be a small town, but one does not have to go very far to get to a big town. And, by the way it is not that far from Menasha, so I can always make a trip to Primitive Gatherings! Thanks for the chance to win
Patti from SW Virginia. They say home is where you heart is and mine is here now though from Pittsburgh. The area is historic and mountains are all around us but most of us quilters/hookers/wool users are so glad for internet service and access to Primitive Gatherings. Thanks for all your great work.
My hometown is Washburn, Wisconsin. I am from the Twin Cities in Minnesota and my heart is really there but a job brought us to Wisconsin. I agree… Moda is the best!!!
Hi! I’m Lori Albrechtsen! I live in beautiful southern California in the City of Glendora (just northeast of downtown Los Angeles about 27 miles). I do LOVE living in SoCal, especially because of the weather. I grew up here. But, I do own another home in Morgan, Utah, in the country. My heart is more there than here. Our home there is near a ski resort and two lakes that we loved to boat on. Our family also loves to mountain bike so we can do that in both places.
I LOVE seeing Lisa and Nick at the shows and walking around the booth to pick up new things! I would love to win this kit!!!!
I love where we live now but to me hometown is where I grew up. So, I guess Highland, UT would be my daughter’s hometown. I do love it here though. We are nestled up against the mountains and live in a fabulous community! It has a small town, rural feeling but lots of options for entertainment and shopping only 15-30 min away. Cute project!
Hi, Lisa. My name is Marcia and you and I have met at several quilt shows (of course, lots of people can say that, can’t they?) I have lived in Forsyth, GA, an hour south of Atlanta, for about 7 years. The best part of living here is that all of our family lives within an hours drive and we are able to gather often. Your giveaway is so fun and I can’t wait to see your new fabric line!!
I live on Vashon Island in Washington State. Yes, I love it here. It’s rural, peaceful, artistic… We have many wonderful quilters who live and visit here plus a terrific quilt shop, tea shop and farmers market.
I am Conny I am from a small village in the Northern part of the Netherlands, called Tolbert. I love it but I can imagine nicer place to live…Italy for example , I lost my heart to that landscape, the culture, the people….so maybe once when I am retired….oer else I keep om dreaming!
Love you beautiful fabric, this bloghop and the change to win! Thank you.
Lisa, I’m so glad I found you in this blog hop… I’m also a Wisconsinite & Packer fan! My hometown is Cadott but I’ve lived here in the Madison area for about 30 years. I look forward to the day I can move to the Eau Claire area near my hometown.
I’m Bree and I’m “from” Clearwater, FL (as in, currently reside.) My heart is my real hometown of Gorham, Maine. Florida’s too darn hot and crowded for me! I totally long for the breezy, crisp fall days of home. Apple picking, Cider, real hayrides, and pumpkin patches that aren’t pallets in a church parking lot!
On an aside, this fabric is totally perfect for my husband – he does primitive camping and keeps bugging me for a real quilt for his camp set!
I live in Holt MI, which is just south of Lansing. My real hometown is a tiny town about 80 miles east of SanFransisco, but I have lived in various parts of Michigan almost all of my life. I’d love to live closer to Lake Michigan, but it’s easy enough to drive there. A piece of my heart is near Chicago where my daughter, son-in-law and sweet granddaughter live. We have great bike trails in the Lansing area as well as in other parts of Michigan. We have a beautiful state no matter what the season, but it’s especially nice in the fall. I like how you made your 9-patch scrappy.
i’m rita, i was born here in beautiful downtown seward, alaska, more than 70 years ago and have lived here off and on most of my life. now, i have a little bachelor ‘cottage’ where i installed cabinets and countertops here in a little back room so i can sew and stow my stuff. i take pix of the mountains and birds from my windows, from the beach and around the bay and out by the glacier … seward and its environs is known for its scenic splendor!
Hello Lisa, Jeter, Presley and family!
My name is Janet Richards and I live in Apex, NC.
North Carolina is really a great place to live. But when I think of my hometown… my heart is in Wisconsin. LaCrosse to be exact. Then there is Waukesha where a sister and family reside. Where if wishes were reality… there I would be.
Sure like the pattern you designed. Loved all the backgrounds and I need to be working more with wool. So thank you very much.
My summer thrill was visiting Primitive Gatherings for the first time and meeting Lisa.
My girl, Daisy, a good looking blue eyed mut, reminds me to say hello and to post for her as well. She thinks her hometown is just peachy. Though she’s not actually a quilter, she is very involved in my work. She has great taste, a good eye for color and she is especially fond of quality brushed homespuns.
My name is Marsha and I live in Fair Oaks, CA, a suburb of Sacramento. I love my little piece of California! It was much more rural when we bought the place, but still has some of that feeling. I am very lucky to have a nice array of local quilt shops. My family all live around the area, so keeps us from looking elsewhere to live. Can’t wait to do your project, Lisa, my fav: primitive and Americana! Thanks.
I love my home town: Lubbock, TX, and my adopted home town: Phoenix, AZ. I’m almost done with my Summer Block of the Week blocks and am looking forward to receiving my finishing kit! Safe travels and Happy Stitching!
I love where I live….Yuba City, Ca because that’s where a lot of my family is. My roots are in East Tenn and I long to visit. I spend a lot of time in the Pacific Northwest. I love all things Primitive so these give-aways look fabulous !!!
I really don’t have a “hometown” as I live in the country but I do love where I live at! I live near Calhoun, Ky which is a very small town. Everyone is friendly and there is always a small festival or something going on.
I love your little quilt! It is wonderful and I would love to have one of the kits or other prizes. Wonderful!
Hi – I’m Lana from Maryville, TN. I have a new hometown and I love it. We are nestled in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains, and we have a beautiful community of quilters. I enjoy being with my quilting friends which makes everything extra-special. Thanks for your giveaway!
My name is Susan and I live a long way from my original hometown of Greenville, SC. I now live in Kelowna, BC, Canada, where my husband pastors a church. We do love our adopted home country and city! Your little prim project is perfect for a friend of mine – so cute!
I’m Pat from Pittsburgh – our city is fantastic! Our sport teams, so many universities, the food, entertainment. We have so much and I’m proud of our city!!
I am Tami and I was raised in Northern California, but now live in Reno, Nevada. I really love living so close to beautiful Lake Tahoe. Thank you for the opportunity to win some of your beautiful fabric!
Hello – I live in Sunnyvale, CA. My hometown is the neighboring Los Altos, but to me “hometown” is the way it used to be 30 years ago with orchards, no sidewalks and a more rural feel. I miss the beauty of our apricot, plum and cherry orchards… The trade-off is the way our community has grown in diversity provides many opportunities to explore other cultures – especially when it comes to great food from other lands. Thank you for the chance to win some gorgeous fabric!
My name is Ramona and I live in Brandon, Manitoba Canada. I absolutely love all of your projects – I am trying to keep up with 6 BOM in addition to other projects. I am very appreciative that you thought of us “Canucks” when you designed your summer Freebee and added a Maple Leaf. I do love the city l ive in now, but I have only lived here for 7 years. Previous to that, I lived much further North in Gillam which is not far from Hudson Bay and the town of Churchill – Polar Bear Capital of the world.
I love visiting your booth at the Annual Minnesota Quilt Show – we missed you at Rochester this year but know that your booth was very capably “manned” by your son and friend. Both were very knowledgable about your products and great ambassadors of your business,
Being a dog lover and owner of three, I am hoping one of your dogs will pull my name. Good Luck to everyone.
I am Debbie and I iive in North Kingstown, RI. I love my hometown, I was born here and have stayed.
I am close to the bay and I can drive to the mountains in a few hours, so being the smallest state has it’s benefits.
I’m Janet and I live in a little valley at the northern most edge of Utah. I’ve spent all but about 3 years of my life here and I do consider it home. You will be in the valley just south of us in January and I will be there with bells on!!
Love all your stuff–have made a few of your patterns and have more in line to make.
Such a cute project!!
I am from Mankato, MN and love all things Primative Gatherings – can’t wait to see you in IA at the Des Moines show!!!!! The best thing about where I live is I am on the farm land I was born and raised on, and my children and brothers live close
Hi Lisa, my name is Nancy Allen. I was born in sunny Southern CA. But my husband and I left here some 28 years ago. We have had 9 regional moves across the United States and are now getting ready to move to Maryland for a total so far of 10! Can you say Gypsy? I will be moving into our 18th home. . . .wow just saying it outloud makes me wonder how we did it. As far as where my heart is? I think I have left a little piece of it in all of the places we have lived, especially when I leave one of our kids behind. This time I will be leaving our 3 daughters and 4 grandkids. But on a high note we will be close to our son and his family.
Anyway one of my favorite things is to get to see you and your booth at all of the shows close to wherever we live, and yes MODA is the best!
My name is Mary Campbell, and I live in Beaufort, SC. I love this town for its historic past, scenic beauty, lively arts scene, and great people. Thanks for the opportunity to win!
Greetings from Eagle River Alaska where I have lived for the last 35 years and it is home. I was however born and raised in a coal mining town in Pennsylvania.
I’m Lynda and I live in Vancouver, WA. I really don’t have a “hometown”. Spent the most years in Anchorage, AK but I go back now and really don’t enjoy it much. I think that friends make a place you have lived and liked a real hometown, and we just moved around so much that I really have no childhood friends – therefore I have no “hometown”
I’m Phyllis and live in Northern Wi, land of loons and lakes, I love my home town of OMA, peaceful, beautiful and most of all quilting neighbors. What more could a girl ask for.
Love all your fabrics and will have to get a road trip together to visit your shop.
My name is Marilyn and I live in Council, ID….not my true hometown but only a short drive a way !
Lisa..you’ve been to my town and to my home ! So I think you know why I love it so much ! Always
have a Primitive Gatherings project going on !
im from a tiny little town called yerington in rural nevada. growing up, i really wasn’t a fan b/c there isn’t really much to do, but now i love it there… really, b/c there isn’t much to do ๐ but it is a simple quaint little town where everyone is family.
I live in Pipe Creek Texas which is literally a dot in the road, have lived here for the last 12 yrs, don’t call it home though, have to call San Antonio home. I love your project….so cute.
My hometown is Youngsville, NC on the outskirts of Raleigh, NC, but to be perfectly honest, I don’t know that much about it. It’s so tiny that not much happens here. It’s mainly just a postal address. I’m really glad you’re designing your own fabric now. I love the colors and feel of your last 2 lines.
I love your mat, especially with the wool. Those moda candies look like a lot of fun. I am from west Chester, pa. Home of QVC. I love my hometown, lots of fun.
I was born in, grew up in and have returned to live here, in Vancouvetr B.C. This is were my centre is. This is home. During the earlier years of my marraige we saw different parts of Canada, most of them small towns, a couple of tours were in isolated spots. I have lived on the prairies , in Qubec in a time of political unrest, on an island with ferry dependancy, but they were adventures and tastes of my country, not home. Ethel Snow
My name is Patti and I live in the Milwaukee, WI area. Grew up here, moved for school and came back. I do consider this area my hometown. A great area to live with lots to do.
Hi Lisa, I’m Rebecca and I live in Utah, same town forever and I can’t wait for your retreat in January in Brigham City. I love your dogs names, especially Jeter since my whole family are Yankees fans and several of us have dogs named Jeter. Have made a ton of your patterns and this nine patch is now on my to do list.
Ilive in the UK in the town of High Wycombe. I don’t love this town but I do like the area it is in and all the pretty villages we can’t afford to live in. And I love the neighbours in our small cul-de-sac – and I have no idea what one of those is in US English! It is a short, closed end road of just 39 houses – a bit likeliving in a village really.
My name is Syd and I live in the small rural town of Franklin, Idaho. I’ve lived here for about 20 years. I love it because it is so close to the mountains and easy fishing. About 8 miles from here is Preston, Idaho known for the movie Napoleon Dynamite! And unfortunately that movie is so on the money of these two towns. Kind of embarrassing if you ask me!! Thanks for sharing your cute pattern.
Hello from Spokane, WA. I grew up in a military family so my roots are very short but I guess I have lived the longest time here in Spokane…so it is my home town. By the way, I love your fabrics! When I attend a large quilt show, I always gravitate to these colors and fabric. Thank you so much for this fun contest.
I am Tiara from the north Ga mountains but my hometown is in Gwinnett county. After having our first child we just thought it was time for a slower change of pace.
Hello! I am Mary and my hometown is Marshall, Missouri. It’s kind of hard to call it that now as I’ve lived about 24 miles out on a farm for 26 years, but when we go to town that’s what we’re referring to rather than the smaller towns that are closer to us. I did go to high school there and am proud to be a Marshall Owl. Not a ferocious mascot, but its ours.
I would love to visit your shop sometime. You designs are so wonderful.
My hometown is London, Ontario Canada, a fair sized city with a small town attitude, and not really in the good way.
My heart is actually in several cities, all to do with family. Peterborough is where my very large extended family is centered and growing up it was always more home feeling then home.
My husband is from a teeny, tiny hamlet in North Carolina and I did find it felt like home the first time I visited.
The whole of Scotland felt amazing but Gairloch really felt like a place my soul has known forever. The only other place that has felt like that is Muskoka, which is cottage country here in Ontario.
My name is Cathy and I live in the small town of Stevensville on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. I love living here and have for the past 37 years! We fell in love with our old farmhouse the first time we saw it and have stayed put ever since! Thanks for a chance at the giveaway…..
I live in the rival state of Iowa on a farm…..I mostly like where we live, but not so much in the winter. My heart really is in Arizona then. I have never been to your shop, but the next time we visit family in WI….I need to put that on my list. I like your designs and projects!!!
Love your hometown, and your fabric, and your project and your store ๐ !!!!
My name is Terrie and I live in palmdale california. I love my hometown and have always lived here.
Was never one of those “can’t wait to get out of here” kind of kids and at this point couldn’t really picture myself anywhere else. Thanks so much for sharing !!!
Hi Lisa, I’ve lived in Fargo, ND for 36 years and it’s a great place to live, but I grew up 45 miles away in Detroit Lakes, MN and I love it there. Great lakes everywhere and beautiful countryside. I’m lucky to be able to go there all the time.
I’m with you Lisa, my original home town of Harbor Springs is still what I consider home ! I like where I live but…
Why would I like to win one of these prizes, well because 9 patch has always been my quilting favorite since I started quilting, good reason I think !!! Enjoyed doing your class in Battle Creek, Mi., and still haven’t opened my bottle of wine. Keeping it for the last weekend I get to camp at my 5th wheel at the Double RR ! Julie
Diane here from Nashville, TN, Music City USA. Throught the years I have lived in the city and in rural areas. Enjoyed both for different reasons. Nashville is famous for a lot of different things. Music, NFL team, NHL team, numerous colleges, BBQ, lakes and humid weather. Love your project.
Hi, I am Nancy from Cedar Falls, Iowa. Cedar Falls has been my home town for about 24 years. We are located in prtetty northeast Iowa and we live on the edge of the community so we have the best of the community and country.
My name is Gaila. I live in Bridgeport Texas. This is definitely not my hometown. I was born in Cedar Hill Texas which used to be about the same size as Bridgeport, until expansion moved in. Now my little home town is a BIG citified town. I miss the country feel there. But my heart is really back in the Garland, Texas area. That’s where I have lived for over 20 years until moving here. I miss the city life and my friends.
My name is Pat and I live in Selkirk, NY. Transplanted here from Albany, NY in 1969. Have roots here now; however all my children have grown and moved away. Love the area and have wonderful friends here. Our local quilt shop has relocated even closer to me. Life is good.
I live in Cumberland, WI. I’ve lived so many places none of them seem like “home town” so I usually refer to the small town in Minnesota where I graduated from hight school. I’d love to win one of the prizes and really like your little project. I’d love to see you in Mesa or Tucson this winter.
I’m Candy. After 27 years following my Air Force husband from base to base, we have settled in Amelia, Virginia. One thing we learned along the way was that our home is where we are, where our children and grandchildren are, for however long we are there. Loving details, like your Old Glory Gatherings project, have helped make each house feel like a home. Thank you for sharing the pattern with us.
Hi Lisa. I live in Augusta, GA home of the Masters Golf Tournament. I do not golf, nor have I ever been to the tournament. The best thing about Augusta is my family; but if given a chance I think I’d rather live in New England, or North Carolina, or someplace a little cooler than Augusta in the summer. It gets really hot and usually really dry in the summer. I love to garden and quilt and would love to live where I could leave my windows open more than 2 weeks a year :D. Oh and my ideal spot would definitely have a wonderful friendly quilt shop that carries wool and wonderful Moda fabrics. We have two sewing and vac stores-not the same :(. I am enjoying reading about everyone towns, kinda like traveling but cheaper, lol.
My hometown is Alexandria VA, which I really do love, but I don’t live there anymore. I am in another seaport town of Annapolis MD. I do like living here, it’s quite beautiful with the Naval Academy here.
Joann in Annapolis
That is such a cute little project! I always like the mix of wool and cotton textures.
My true “hometown” where I grew up is a tiny, tiny town called Westfield, Maine; and I now live much further south in Winterport, Maine but my heart belongs to Boston, MA. I lived there for 7 years and loved it!
Hi Lisa,
Thank you for being so honest! We don’t all live in wonderful, fun-filled places but you are a great example of “blooming where you are planted”. And that is a major accomplishment for anyone. I live in Sping Hill, TN. It is a great little town but I think I would love living in the mountains of Western North Carolina. Love you little quilt.
Peggy
Although I love living on a farm in southeastern WI, I grew up on a farm in northeast Iowa. Thank you for your project – and, like everyone would love to win.
I live in Jamestown, NY, which is not my hometown. I grew up in a rural area of Genoa City, Wisconsin and would consider that to be my hometown. Nice area, but other than having family there, I’d rather be in the southwest. My sister was lucky enough to go to your lecture at Quilt Expo in Madison and said it was great. Wish I could have been there but hope I’ll be one of the lucky winners. Thanks for the cute pattern!
I was born & raised on the “right side of the tracks”. After being away from the area for 35+ years I moved to Winneconne, WI 10 years ago. The best part of living here is being 20 min. away from PG. Have to agree that it’s the best there is in Menasha. Love all the projects & just being able to hang out with your great staff.
I am from a town called Ramos Mejia in the suburbs of Buenos Aires, now living in Luxembourg… I have to say I will always love my home tome, but starting to like living in an old and tiny European city, with all its quirkiness, old streets, pathways that ends in old towers and so on…
I live in Neenah Wisconsin, which is right next to Menasha, so that IS the best part.
i feel fortunate to be so close to Primitive Gatherings. Some people that I met in Madison
said the same thing. a steak sandwisch fro Mihms in Menasha is GREAT!
Suzie Jankowski
I live in Foothill Ranch, California. But like you, my heart is always in Missoula, Montana. I was born and raised there, all my family, excepting my wonderful husband, is still there. It is only for the man I married would I leave the heaven that is Montana.
Hi I am from Winchester,Va and have lived here most of my life in the country. It’s part of the great Shenandoah Valley and I always have loved it here. I guess our claim to fame is the Apple Blossom Festival every spring which draws around 200,000 people. I’d love to win the prize and love appique. Phyllis
Hi – my name is Bari Jo and I live in the Land of Enchantment – Albuquerque, New Mexico to be specific. I do love it here…the other half of my heart is back at Clifford Lake in Stanton, Michigan, though, where my grandparents lived. :O)
Hi Lisa..I’m Pam from Kalamazoo, MI. I got my first chance to shop *live* at Primitive Gatherings, at the AQS show in Grand Rapids a few weeks ago and now have lots of fun things to keep me occupied at least till the snow starts to fall. I am not native to my town either and grew up about 90 north of here, very near Lake Michigan. I do like some things about this town tho. We have 2 colleges and a community college and with all that influx of students every year, there is always something going on. I think too that Kalamazoo has an amazingly active quilting community and active art community, backed by education. It looks like your little project is done with your Old Glory line (??) which I’m anxiously awaiting. Thanks for the chance to enter!
I love your designs– what a fun post. I live in Mission Viejo, CA and it’s a wonderful place to live. I’ve lived here for almost 30 years, and it’s really nice, but….. I don’t know why, I just can’t explain it, but a part of my heart belongs in England. I’ve been there twice and both times felt like “home”….. strange, huh. ๐
Hi Lisa,
I love anything you design and make. Hope I win!!! My hometown is in Jackson, Michigan but I live in Murphysboro, IL. Can’t say that I love this town but we do have a few good things here. The 17th Street Bar and Grill is the best place in town to eat. Mike Mills is famous for his BBQ ribs. Yummy! Also, we are getting ready for the Apple Festival. Everything made from apples. Big parade and apple peeling, pie contest. Sooo much fun. Wish you could make it to our event. Lisa if you ever decide to expand, please come down here to Sputhern Illinois and rock our qullting community. Everyone loves your patterns, wool and your amazing personality.
Hi Lisa:
My heart is still in New Mexico. The majestic sunrises and sunsets and the sky are just too wonderful to describe. It is called “The Land of Enchantment” which is so true. I live in New Braunfels, TX and have for 17 years. I love Texas and will probably not live anywhere else, but my heart is in those Sandia Mountains of New Mexico. Your little town sounds like a hoot…All the women just go there to go to your shop! Of course…I would love to try Terry’s one of these days. I ADORE your mini quilt and would die with pleasure if I won a kit! Your designs and your booths always take me back to a time when life was less rushed and life on the family farm or ranch was Heaven.
Hope to see you in Houston.
Thanks for sharing.
Love,
Mary
Live in Clayton, NC for a very good reason – quiet country community with the kindest people around. Having to drive into Raleigh is torture all via interstates – so when we come home it is a very big sigh of relief that we are on our shady and quiet tree-lined street and home safely once again. Wonderful giveaway and thanks. Judy C
We now live in Centennial, Colorado with the beautiful Rockies in the distance. We’ve only been here a short while having moved from California so we’re still a little homesick.
I live in DeForest WI and I love the fact that I am in the country but close to a bigger city. I also love the fact that I’m less than 2 hours from Primitive! Thanks for sharing your creativity!
I live in Mountain Home, AR, but my heart is in Baton Rouge, LA. I grew up there, went to school there, and got married and had my son there. When someone asks me where I’m from, I tell them Baton Rouge.
Sandi Hall, Mayville, MIchigan….. Retired here 18 years ago. All of 12 miles from where I was born. Three children… One in the Army, One in the AirForce, One in the Marines (now he and his wife are National Guards. Red ,White, and Blue are the basis of my decor and has been for years. Your fabrics are wonderful!!!!!
Hi, my name is Polly. I have lived in Mission Viejo , CA for 38 years. It’s been the most wonderful place to raise a family. My hometown is Bellflower, CA and it was a great place to grow up – a Dutch dairy town – “no flower like Bellflower” was the saying since there were so many dairies. It’s where I met my husband of 45 years. LOVE your fabrics and patterns. I belong to a GREAT guild, Beach Cities. When you quilt, life is good!
You are definitely my fav. fabric designer-oh I would looooove to come to Primitive Gatherings. I buy lots of fabric but always yours, it just speaks to me or something. I live in Canandaigua, NY-the Finger Lakes of Western NY. My hometown is actually 15 miles down the rd. in Geneva NY but I haven’t lived there since I graduated from high school.
Hi, I’m Laurel – Living in Elgin, IL , but grew up in Bartlett just a few miles east. My family owns a business there and that is where my heart is. It was a town where everybody new everybody, it had a soda shop and summer carnival. Much has changed since then, but it’s still my favorite. Love the little quilt and am excited about the new little candy bundles.
Hi Lisa, my name is Wendy and I live in Somerset UK but my hometown is in Lancashire…I’ve lived here for 15 years and have to say I much prefer it, thank you for the chance to win the giveaway x
Lisa, This is Laura B from Peachtree City, GA, yes the same town you are coming to at the end of the month. I am one of Sue Schultz’ Woolie Buddy converts. There are five of us enjoying your BOW and Freebies. I love my adopted hometown, Peachtree City. As a retired military family hailing from southern California Peachtree City is the perfect place for us. I am inspired daily by my quilting friends, the beautiful surroundings, and your wonderful Primitive Gatherings projects. See you soon, can’t wait to stitch on the Redware Crow and Patiently Waiting.
Oh my…I love your project!… and your fabric, and your patterns, and your blog!!! I currently live in the Seacoast area of New Hampshire, but my heart is most definitely further north near the mountains of New Hampshire where I grew up. My husband is from the seacoast and we’ve been living in his home town now for 22 years. I’m thinking when we finally retire in, hopefully, another 5 years…it’s MY turn to choose where we live! Mountains here I come! Thank you so much for your free pattern, and for all your wonderful prim and wool designs and fabrics. Your style is most definitely my style as well.
For the past 40 years I have lived in the Hamlet of East Northport, where every summer beautiful baskets of flowers hang from the lamposts and every winter Christmas lights are strung across the main road. The local library has a fireplace and coffee bar and a big wood carved bear holding books right outside the front door. East Northport is one of several towns in the Township of Huntington.
Just 1 ยฝ miles from my front door is Northport Harbor with so many beautiful boats at
anchor. The town park offers weekly concerts and family fun nights. On Tuesday nights the main street is filled with collectible cars and outdoor dining. We have more restaurants than can be mentioned and several with water views.
We are about 2 miles from Long Island Sound and views of Connecticut or a 30 minute drive to the Atlantic Ocean Both great choices for bringing a quilting project. East hamlet in this township has something unique to offer, garden tours in the summer and genealogy lectures in the winter; fall festivals and craft
Fairs. There are at least 4 farm stands and places to go pumpkin picking. We even have a quilt shop โ Pieceful Quilting.
This is home to me and I cannot imagine living anywhere else. Oh, did I mention the traffic?? Of course not! That would ruin everything!!
I live in Hemet, CA to be near my girls and grandson but my “hometown” is Albany, NY , upstate NY is a fabulous place, 4 seasons great food, family and friends. Love your patterns and material. Thanks for the giveaway.
Nancy A.
I live in upstate NY in the little hamlet of Apalachin, right on the northern border of Pennsylvania. Our claim to fame was in 1957 when the State Police raided Joseph Barbara’s home while he was holding a gangland convention, several of his mafia friends scattered through the surrounding woods and got away.
Our more recent claim to fame is Doug Hurley, the astronaut, grew up here. I love your designs and mixing wools and cottons together I always look forward to your e-mails.
Somehow I never realized that you travel so much for your work — loved that lifestyle when I was able to do it, way, way back when craft shows and fairs were happening. I live in Green Cove Springs, Florida now, a much friendlier climate than upstate NY, but I always seem to miss the Catskills, no matter where I am!
I live in Magna, Utah which is near Salt Lake City. I grew up about 20 miles east of where I live, but the area has changed so much I’m not sure I’d live there again. I love your project. Thanks for the giveaway!
My hometown is Auburn, WA and it is a great little town south of Seattle about 20 miles. Some of my favorite things about Auburn are the library and High School music and drama (love supporting the kids who participate in these programs).
Also I love Moda fabrics but I do not have time to buy and sew it all. Thank you for your giveaway of patriotic fabrics.
My hometown is Hamilton, Ontario, Canada & has been all my life except for a couple short periods living elsewhere in Ontario. See? You most always come “home”! I love having access to everything & living in Hamilton, you can even access the USA easily enough! Thanks for the chance at the give-away. Your fabrics & designs are fabulous…I love anything “primitive”!
I love my town, Portland, OR. I love its gardens, especially the Rose Test Garden, and the climate and especially I love that when peoplel come from afar to visit, they rave about what a great place it must be to live here. It is!
Hello my name is Jenelle Jo. I love my name. I was raised in Iowa and lived there until I was 39. I moved to Seattle, Washington for 11 months, then moved to Portland, Oregon for 22 years. Now we live on a farm in Kansas we have been here 11 months but this will be our home until the end. I still concider Iowa as my home. And I really loved living in Portland, my favorite place to shop was “Fabric Depot” in Portland. I could spend hours in the store at a time. So once I get use to the town in Kansas I can’t say if I love it or not. I just wish they had better eating places and there is not even one fabric store here. That is sad. Thanks for the wonderful giveaway and I love your project.
Lisa
I live in Topeka Kansas, Not the most exciting place in the world but it is home. I love reading your blog about all your exciting adventures. I had the pleasure of visiting your shop a couple of years agi0 and loved everything about it . Looking forward to visiting it again soon. Your designs are fantastic.
I live in Hampton, NH a village on the seacoast. I like it but it is not “my” hometown. There are too many tourist that come through here and always makes for alot of traffic all summer and the weekends . My house is in the woods and as long as we stay home it is nice and quiet. Someday I would love to live in Montana. After a few visits there I feel my heart would sing if I lived there.
I live in San Antonio TX and have lived here for the past 10 years but I have to say, I am not a fan of the hot weather here, We used to live up in the Northeast – Maine, upstate New York, Connecticut – and I would move back to that climate in a heartbeat! However, my husband does not share my love of cold weather… So, I hibernate in the summer and quilt! Thanks for the chance to win your giveaway!
Well.. My hometown is El Paso, TX and the best and only thing I like about it is the divine Mexican food. Due to my husband’s military service, we now live outside of Austin, TX which means great bar b que and Round Rock donuts. We also enjoy the out of doors activities, year round.
I am Cheryl and I live half way between Middlebury and Shipshewana, Indiana in the heart of the nation’s 3rd largest Amish Settlement. I was raised on a farm built by my ancestors in 1860 and after spending 25 years as an Air Force wife relocating 18 times I was delighted my husband agreed to bring me “home” to the family homestead in this beautiful communituy. Elkhart and LaGrange Counties, Indiana are home to the famous and beautiful Quilt Gardens and LaGrange County is proud of a newly developed Quilt Barn Tour. One of the many quilt blocks on the tour is on our 1860’s barn. There are also numerous quilt shops within a short driving distance which is a real plus for me!! Our communities are friendly and much slower paced than many and the countryside and homesteads are beautiful and quiet. We have wonderful small town restaurants and shops that sell many items from Amish made furniture to fabric and gifts. Tourists to our area have opportunities to learn about the Amish culture, visit the large flea market in Shipshewana or tour the campus of Notre Dame – a short 30 mile ride into South Bend. I am proud to call our community home and welcome all to visit someday! I love Primitive Gatherings patterns, fabric and wool. It was so much fun to shop in your booth in Grand Rapids! ๐
Visit: http://www.backroads.org and http://www.amishcountry.org
I live in the Seattle, Wa area now, but my hometown will always be where I grew up…in Edgerton, MN. It is small-town Midwest living at its best! I miss the quiet, slower paced lifestyle where everybody knows your name. That said, I don’t think I could ever go back and live there. I have gotten way too accustomed to the amenities of the big city!
I live in a very, very small town in the southwestern part of New York State called Leon. I’ll call it my hometown because I have spent two-thirds of my life here. The best part of living here is the fresh air, change of seasons, and of course my husband and our pets, Buford the Basset hound and Felix, the cat. You have THEE best wool and patterns – wish you were closer, but someday I hope to visit your shop. Thanks for the chance to win!
I live in a small town (only 80,000!) just SE of Phoenix. I do likke it here. But my most favorite of all places that I have lived – for the scenery alone – was Edmonds, WA. Driving downtown was always a treat as the Puget Sound folded out in front of you!
I live in the heart of the bluegrass at Georgetown KY. My favorite part is driving through horse country in the fall with all the fences and huge trees. We live on Cherry Blossom Golf course so that is our daily retreat. Thanks for the opportunity to win.
Kathy
Hi! I live in Cordova, a suburb of Memphis, TN. This has never felt like my hometown. When we moved here, we planned to stay 5 years, we’ve been here 20. My heart is in the Rocky Mountains.
Well, Lisa, I live in Schuyler, Nebraska. Yes, I definitely consider this my home even though I was not born or “raised” here. I came here almost 50 years ago for my first teaching job. I was going to stay two years and then “move on”. I never left. I really love the people here. We live on the very edge of the city limits on a small lake–we are pretty much out here by ourselves. We enjoy the ducks, geese, deer and other animals who visit us–this morning we had 8 turkeys by our deck! We just got home from a trip to Door County (with a stop at your great shop!!!), Duluth, and Detroit Lakes, MN. It was a wonderful trip but SO GOOD to get home! I think your town is pretty neat too.
Well.. My hometown is El Paso, TX and the best and only thing I like about it is the divine Mexican food. Due to my husbandโs military service, we now live outside of Austin, TX which means great bar b que and Round Rock donuts. We also enjoy the out of doors activities, year round.
Hi there, I love your small quilt. It will make a great x-mas gift!! I have been following all the moda hop and have found quite a great ideas for x-mas!! My name is Jennifer Thornton and I live in Dayton Tx the thing I lie about our home town is that it is quite and peaceful!! We live farther out in the country but can get to the town and stores with in a short time so we have the b est of two worlds!! thanks for the chance to win.
I live north of New Orleans in a small rural town in the “hills” of Louisiana – When people gossip about the going ons I don’t like my small town, but when you suffer from a death or disaster people are very supportive – a good place to grow up – the community grew so much after Hurricane Katrina displaced so many people in south louisiana – they came to our area
I have lived in the upper peninsula of MI, but grew up in Maine – near the coast, and while we are happy here and now – Maine will always hold a special place in my heart.
I left a comment so just in case I did something wrong I’ll write a little message here. I live in Plymouth, MI. I met you in Paducah at the AQS show and just recently Grand Rapids. Love everything you do!
My name is Karen and I live in a suburb of Dallas, TX. I guess it is now my “hometown” but I was born overseas to Air Force parents and lived all over for my growing up years. Thanks for the cute pattern! I love patriotic colors!!
Hey LIsa, I love in Silverdale, WA. I love my home town here in Washington, but my other home town in Hancock, MI. I love the people and hometown life. I lived there for 6 years and finally came home to be with my parents and grandkids. Thank you for the opportunity to win.
Elizabeth
My name is Melody and I live in Sugar City, Idaho. The area in which I live has beautiful surroundings with mountains, farmland and close to Yellowstone National Park and the Tetons. Ive never felt like this is home. I would say other than the place I was raised, the place where I felt more at home than any other place was when we lived in Laie, Hawaii. It’s on the north shore on the island of Oahu. That was home and we loved it there. Thanks for the give away.
Hi Lisa!! My name is Trelly and I live in the northwest of Spain, in La Coruna. My hometown is not very far from my actual home (2 hours by train) but love… oh love…. I moved because my marriage but I am very happy here. Thanks a lot for your project, it is very beautiful!!! Kisses from Spain
My name is Chris, I live in Pella, Iowa but part of my heart seems to be in Nashville TN where my sweet grandbaby is. I do love living in Pella–great friends, church, community and a quilt shop! Thanks for the opportunity to win some of your fabric!
My name is Malinda and yes, I do like the place where I live now, although some of the other places I’ve lived are pretty awesome, too. I’ve lived on Prince Edward Island, in the Appalachian Mountains of Virginia and on the north shore of Lake Superior – all lovely places with good memories!
Hello, Lisa,
My name is Diana, and I now live in Beaufort, SC. I was born and reared in Boston, MA, lived in NH for the past 30+ years and moved to Beaufort just over a year ago. I now consider Beaufort to be my home – I love it here and plan to stay. I, too, love your designs.
Have a wonderful week sewing! I live in the suburbs north of Atlanta. My “hometown” is Lafayette, LA. Would love to visit your shop and “hometown” one day:)
I live in Salem, Oregon. I’ve been here about 6years but it’s home for now. It’s a nice place to live, close to mountains, beach and 4 quilt stores within 25 minutes. Love that.
Hi Lisa…. For some reason this just showed up today 9/11/12 and not yesterday. If I’m too late to enter, ignore my response…my home town…a little bitty town in Northern Michigan called Mohawk.
Love it! But home for the past 20 years is Greenleaf, WI.
Thanks, KathyG
I am a native Californian, but don’t hold that against me. I have been at “home” in three other states and loved them all. Hollywood was my birthplace; Hawthorne (home of my classmates the Beach Boys) for school years and now Cypress,CA (formerly Waterville and then Dairy City)… are you bored yet? I met Lisa at Primitives of the Midwest and have been a fan ever since. Love when Lisa and Nick come to Road to California! Would also be less bored if I won the moda offerings..lol
I am Deborah and I live in Alabama in a small community called Harvest, outside Huntsville. We are in Northern AL on the Tennessee border. It is lovely here most of the time (except in the summer when it is hot and humid and in the Spring and Fall when tornadoes sometimes threaten us — the last 2 Springs brought severe tornadoes through our area and caused lots of damage) . The people are friendly and the trees and hills are pretty. I moved here from Southern California and I have to admit my heart is still in CA. I flew back to CA in July and attended the Long Beach Quilt Show where I spent LOTS of time and $$ in the Primitive Gatherings booth. WOW, lots of beautiful things!! I took a class from you in Cullman, AL a couple of years ago. Enjoyed it very much.
I live outside of Wetaskiwin Alberta. It is about half an hour south of Edmonton. Not sure if I love it but I do like it. My home town at heart is back in Ontario just outside Stratford. A small village called Brunner.
I am Elaine and live in Sanger, TX and in 2 months I will be at your shop! WooHoo! I have lived in Sanger for almost 24 years, and it’s a wonderful place to live. Small town and close enough to bigger cities for shopping, etc. Thanks for all the hard work you do for all of us. See you in a couple of months.
I love my little hometown! Its a rural farming community outside of Nashville TN. My family has farmed this area for about 200 yrs….now that’s some roots! I love the fabric and thank you for the chance to win some!!!!
I am from Grand Forks,ND and I love my hometown. I was gone for over 30 years but moved back in 2000 and am so glad I did. Great place to live. I was in Paducah two years ago and came to your booth and bought some wool kits. Your booth and all the wool was absolutely gorgeous. Wouldn’t it be fun to win one of the giveaways!
I am Linda Wilkinson and I live in Saint Michael, MN, but my hometown is just down the road in Maple Grove. It has changed so much since I was a child, but it is a wonderful city with some nice recreational lakes, parks, schools, shopping, and dining. The only thing they are missing is a quilt shop, but there are some nice ones close by. It is true, I started coming to Menasha because of Primitive Gatherings. I have spent several weekends at the retreat house and cannot say enough good things about Terri’s cooking! For those of you in the St. Michael, MN area that love the PG look, it is approx. a 5-1/2 hour drive, and well worth it.
Hi Lisa, My name is Henny and I live in Eesergroen in the Netherlands. It’s a very small town, only 150 people. But it’s a beautifull place to live! and a quilt shop in the next town. We have a farm and I help every day milking the cows and feeding the calfs. I try to work on my quilts every day. Love your fabric ! Thanks for hte give- away!
I live in Curtis, Washington. It is a tiny tiny little valley where I have always lived, so definitely my hometown, but I do love it here. It’s just home to me.
I am from West Memphis, but I prefer living in my current city, Benton, Arkansas. This city is the geographical center of the state and the home of Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Cliff Lee, a recent Cy Young award winner!
Hi Jeter and Presley ( I know who to butter up! LOL). I was born in Indiana, Pennsylvania – me and Jimmy Stewart but lived my growing up years in Apollo, PA. Not much there then or now and wouldn’t want to live there again. I’ve been lucky in that I’ve gotten to “live” even temporarily all over these great United States via a motor home. My heart isn’t tied to one place but to the people I’ve met and shared a laugh or a meal or even just a passing smile. Last winter I was fortunate that I got to spend time with all the good folks at Primitive Gatherings. As they tell me here in my latest home – I’m truly blessed. Love your wool Lisa, thanks for all your work.
My name is Gayle and I live in Utah. But I was raised in the Mountains of California and that what I consider to be my ‘home’. The smell of pine takes me back there instantly!
My name is Summer and I live in Kirkland, Washington. I love it here – awesome beaches, parks, restaurants and loads to do with the Kidlets. Also the Western Washington Quilt Shop Hop!
I’m Ursula, and I live in The Town of Fairview, where the motto is “Keeping It Country”! Love it here – feels like the country, but being just north of Dallas, I’m close to everything I could possibly want or need – except for my daughter and her wonderful husband, who live in Kent, Washington. Love it there, too!
Hown town? Military people always add a question mark to that. After 31+ years of our home being whereever the military sent us, we returned to our home roots of the Pacific Northwest. We picked Sequim, Wa to be our forever hometown and enjoy the beauty of this area and the rest of our lives. If it adds any plus to your pets picking the winners, we do have a dog and 2 cats in our family.
My name is Mary and I live in Bremerton, WA…it’s just across the Puget Sound from Seattle. I have lived here all my life…so has my husband, our three children were born here…so this is really home. I have been a fan of your work for a long time…and have supported your shop from a distance…glad you do mail order!! Can’t wait to see your new line.
My address now is Wadena, but my hometown is ‘Hawkeye’ IA (yes in addition to there being an Iowa Hawkeye Football team — there is a town of 450 people called Hawkeye – which is almost 2 hrs. from Iowa City, where the Hawkeyes play in Kinnick Stadium. Looking forward to seeing your creative designs at the AQS show in Des Moines next month!
I love adding a little wool to my quilts , too. I live in a small town next to the town I grew up in. I have lived within a two mile radius of my childhood home my whole life with the exception of 6 months after I was first married. Neither town is really anything special except to the people who live there. It is HOME.
Hi, my hometown is Lakeland, FL. Lakeland is centrally located and close to a variety of quilt shops in FL. We are the spring home to the Detroit Tigers, and close to many vacation attractions. I’ve lived here since 1982, but I miss the wonderful seasons up north since I am originally from MI.
My name is Marlene and I’m from Winnipeg, Canada. While I grew up near the small town of Carman, I’ve become quite used to my life in the city. Winnipeg is now home to me, but I still enjoy trips back to see people in Carman.
Your little quilt is so sweet. I currently live in a small northern Ontario, Canada town of Espanola. I never grew up in a hometown, but spent lots of my ‘formative years’ as they say {highschool and university} in Kitchener/Waterloo. Plus lots of my adult years {post children!} in North Bay. Home is where my family {and fabric!} is. Thanks for the chance.
Hi Lisa, I live in Northwest Indiana with lots & lots of corn fields. What I love best is the old time feeling of our downtown area. There are wonderful restaurants & specialty shops all around. It’s nice when you can walk your dog and stop for a hot dog (sorry). You can take your dog into the ice cream shop, one for me and one for my four legged friend. Smart business lady! We have a wonderful quilt shop in town too! What more could we ask for??
Hello,
I am Valerie from my new hometown of Boulder, CO. I have been here for 2 years, at the door of the Rocky Mountain National Park. This is a faboulous place. I used to live outside Philadelphia but I am originaly from France. I know know where I really bolong but right now I am enjoying the Rockies!
Thank you for the giveaway
Hi – I love where I live, Bella Vista, Arkansas. It is a small retirement resort community with lots of quilt shops. No, it is not my home town. It is where I want to be.
I live in Vernal, Utah and it is best known as “Dinosaurland” because of the Dinosaur National Park and quarry which is close by. I grew up here and raised our children in this small community and we love it–however, our roots go pretty deep into this soil since our grandparents and great-grandparents settled here. I love, love your blog and lurk around it really often. I think you’re very creative and I love everything you do. Thanks for the chance to win–I’m crossing my fingers and toes.
I agree, Moda is the best.
I live in Piedmont of North Carolina and my heart is here for sure. I love this state. thanks for the giveaway and the pattern. so cute.
Hi – my hometown is in the suburbs of Detroit. I love living in Michigan as its so beautiful and there is always something to do! Detroit can be a fun city! When we hit retirement we are looking to move farther out to the country and by a river or lake! thanks for the lovely project and the giveaways! thanks to Moda too!
I live in New York City. Is it my home town? I feel like it is, but I didn’t grow up here, my parents moved around a lot when I was small and we lived in different places, mostly in the MidWest (and I attended the U. of Wis. in Madison!). New York is my “soul mate” town though for sure. I like the privacy of being in the Big City where no one cares much want you do or what you look like most of the time. I like all the opportunity, the diversity, the art, theater, music, and museums. And I like the people — there is a sense of community here, really there is.
Born in California, moved to Utah and then Nevada, raised my children in Colorado, and now we’re back in Utah. I’d have to say my hometown is Logan, Utah where I spent most of my childhood. It was a great place to grow up. Would love to win some of your wonderful fabric, thanks.
Hi Lisa-I live in Gardner, KS (for the past 25 years) but “home” is Creston, IA. Love Gardner because that’s where my grandchildren live–enough said on that! But, I do spend time with my sister in Creston–stitching wool, quilting and having a good time. Thanks for the mat pattern and I do agree that Terry is the best cook around–hope to enjoy that again one of these days. Hope to see you at the show in Des Moines.
I live in Marne, Michigan, and love to call it home. We’re between Grand Rapids and Lake Michigan so we can easily enjoy beach life, city life, and everything in between. Hope you had a chance to enjoy West Michigan while you were here for the AQS show!
My name is Tami and I live in Upland, a city in Southern CA. I was transplanted to California about 25 years ago, a par tof my heart remains where I was born and raised, that would be, Seattle, WA. However, I sure do love seeing the sun almost everyday and all four of my sons were born here in Cali so, I guess it’s where I’ll stay! ๐
I grew up in a small town in north central Wisconsin called Tomahawk. The best thing about living there was we lived on the Wisconsin River. It was like being on vacation 365 days a year. My brothers pooled their paper route money and bought a broken down boat that they restored and turned into a water ski boat! I logged lots of skiing hours behind that boat! We had a beat up duck boat that we paddled in the back bays with to catch turtles for turtle races! After a really bad storm, my brothers rescued a floating canoe! Posted ads for it and it went unclaimed. We still use that canoe today when we go back home to visit Mom and Dad! I wish my kids could have experienced the same carefree, fun summer days that we did!
Is their a reason your photos are soooo close?? can not see . I have many of your patterns and block of the month and would like to see your work on the internet e-mail but it is so close that I can not enjoy it. thanks for all your beautiful patterns.
Hi, my name is Debbie. I grew up in the small town of Clio, Michigan. I was raised on a farm, which was great. Then after I was married, move just down the road from the farm. Great neighborhood, with lots of get togethers. A great place to raise children. Home is where family, friends and great neighbors are. Big fan of your work.
I’m with you! Your hometown isn’t always where you live now, it’s where you grew up, I live in Georgia now ( and I love Georgia) but my hometown will always be a little town in Southwest Michigan – Lawton. It’s the place where you walk down the street and there are a dozen memories…this is the tree that I fell out of and twisted my ankle. Or we used to go trick-or-treating in this neighborhood and remember this house, Mrs…. the librarian lived there, etc. This blog hop is bring back so many hometown memories. Thanks for sharing yours.
I’m Kelle from Red Wing , MN. A nice little river town south of the twin cities. My friend and I took a road trip over to your shop on the way to the Madison show. We didn’t see anything in town but your lovely little shop! We also enjoyed your lecture and booth at the show. “Wool dyed with love,” by your son was my favorite quote!
I live in a small town named Godley in Texas. It is truly my hometown. I have lived her since I was 4 years old. I love this town and I am so thankful that I am raising my family here!
My name is Charlotte and I live in Chapel Hill NC. It is not my hometown, but my heart is here now after living here for almost 20 years. I guess my hometown is Kansas City, Mo. That’s where I grew up.
Lisa, you really are the best place in Menasha. I am so happy that my son and daughter-in-law have moved to Greenville so I get to visit your quilt shop even more than I used to. My name is Kim Hartwig and I live in Door County, WI (Brussels) but I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago. It won’t take you long to guess which is my favorite. I absolutely love Wisconsin, in Door County you can be as busy or quiet as you want. You can go to Northern Door county with all of the tourists and gift shops or you can stay in Southern Door county where I live for some peace and quiet. Wherever you go there is lots of water, Green Bay on one side and Lake Michigan on the other. I guess that’s why they call us “Cape Cod of the Midwest”. It’s a great place to be! Great restaurants, state parks and lots of fun places to visit.
I’m Betty Jo and live in Plainfield, Illinois. Most people consider it a suburb of Chicago! I do like it here but only because we are close to the big city and also to small county towns. We have the best of both worlds. Your Old Glory Gatherings is great, but then how can you go wrong when you include a sheep?
Lisa–you are my favorite place in Menasha. I live near Chilton, WI which is only a 30 minute drive from your shop–lucky me. I have lived in this town my entire life, it is a quiet small town which has its perks and downsides. I enjoy our beautiful rural location and scenery–but would trade for the west coast!
Paula from East Bernstadt, KY. I have lived here all of my life except for one year when I was 6. This is definitely home. I guess I am old-fashioned because I don’t want to live anywhere else. I would love to visit your shop though.
My name is Nancy and I live in Erie, PA, on the shores of beautiful Lake Erie. It is my hometown and is a great place to live. Thank you for the giveaway and thanks for sharing your pattern. Love It!
Lisa, I’m Kathie from Allentown, PA, and you were here last year for a presentation at our Crazy Quilters Guild. I took your workshop and now know why people like wool applique so much. I also am working through your block of the week this summer. I’m almost done. I’m not a native Allentownian, but love it here. We’re celebrating 250 years and the past 40 that I’ve been here have seen lots of changes, but it’s a great place to live.
My name is Linda and I live just outside Boise, Idaho. Am I a native, no, got here by way of the Chicago suburbs and then a few years in Montana. Been here since 1989 but from the moment we moved here it felt like home. Lots of great restaurants, skiing and snow boarding in the winter, hiking, camping and kayaking in the summer and that is just the beginning. I think home is where you hang youtr heart.
Your quilt is the best of the blog tour so far. I love it ๐ and this is a sweet giveaway!
I live in Camrbria,Californina and I must say that I do love it. I love it for the cool weather and I love it because the town bought a ranch and turned it into a park/reserve where I can walk my dogs and enjoy incredible views of the ocean. We have some nice restaurants and some good artsy shopping but the ranch beats everything hands down.
Hi Lisa
My name is Nancy and I live in Lexington, Ohio. Though I love living in Lexington my heart will always belong to my real hometown in Pittsburgh, PA. Thanks for the opportunity to win. Love your store, your patterns and your fabric.
My home is in Warsaw which is located in Western New York about an hour from Buffalo. In the dead of winter I wish my home was in the sunny south, but Warsaw is a small, comfortable, safe village and my heart is here. It was a good place to raise our three boys, who have all married and moved out of New York State.
Hi, I am Lori Kae from DuPont, WA. My hometown is a neighboring city but after my DH retired from the Air Force we returned to our “home state” and built our home. While our hearts are scattered throughout the county this is truly home-we are surrounded by beautiful evergreen trees, fresh air, we can dip our toes in the gorgeous puget sound water daily, we have the breath taking beauty of the majestic Mount Rainier, the Olympic and Cascade Mountain ranges too and traveling to the ocean is achievable however along with these wonderful gifts come traffic and a high cost of living. We miss the peacefulness, friendships and quaintness of living in a smaller town but being back with our family and having so many outdoor activities accessible is a pretty big blessing too.
Thank you for the chance and pattern–LOVE it! ๐
That’s a pretty cute little quilt! I knew your post would be the best yet!! My hometown is a little rural community in Nova Scotia, Canada. I’m 48 years old and happy to say I’ve lived here all of my life. Went from my mom and dad’s home into a home that my husband built for us just a mile down the road and wouldn’t trade it for anything. I’m a country girl all the way, and life here suits me just fine!! Love reading your posts Lisa and seeing what you’re working on!
My name is Kathy & I live in Oxford, CT. I’ve lived here since 1994 but I always feel like Milford is my hometown. I grew up there. It’s also in CT but on the shoreline. I always enjoyed being able to walk to the beaches. I really love your pattern & new fabric line. I’m hoping I win!!! Thanks for participating in this bloghop, it is so much fun.
Hi, I live in Dallas Oregon. It is a great place to live. Not too big and close to the ocean, mountians and the big city of Portland. Love your style!!
Hi Lisa, it is Tammy, also from Menasha and you know me, or at least recognize me hopefully. Hope you are still enjoying the garden walk book I made for you a couple of years ago. I love your shop and visit as often as the budget allows. I know you probably don’t need help in sales when you are at a show, but I bet your handsome sons helped boost sales some! Hope your pups pick my name! Your shop gives me inspiration every time I come in!
I live outside of Howard City Michigan. There is not much in the little town we live outside of. I love the 10 acres we live on but I prefer to drive a little ways so a town nearby with a quilt shop in it.
HI – Love the little pattern! I do love my hometown eventhough I live about 30 miles away now. It is always nice to go back and see all the familiar spots.
I have lived in Ponca City, OK , three different times due to my DH’s transfers although OKC is my hometown. Both places have definitely changed over the years. PC has lots of historic homes/buildings [ex. Marland Mansion, the Palace on the Prairie], parks, and the LA Cann Gardens, etc. The the historic 101 Ranch is near here where Tom Mix was first filmed before heading West to Hollywood and Bill Pickett who invented bulldogging as a rodeo sport. Today, Ree Drummond lives East of here on the famous historic Drummond cattle ranch where her show is filmed for HGTV. She also lives near the Tall Grass Prairie Preserve where the buffalo still roam. As a flatlander, however, I still yearn for Rocky Mts. though I am an Okie at heart.
Hi! I am Jane A., and I live in Manassas, Virginia, a place full of civil war history. It’s pretty nice. I was born and raised i Racine, Wisconsin, and that is the state that I feel I am really from, and will feel that way for the rest of my life. Wisconsin is so filled with beauty, good food, and people like me, daughters of imigrants. My mother, as a young woman, was a house maid, and used to serve the rich beer manufacturing people drinks and food at garden parties back in the 30’s. I will never really feel at home here in Virginia. I was an Army wife for 24 years, so I moved alot, and maybe I feel I still need to move! I have been here since 1989, so I think I’m staying, although we are tempted to move back to Wisconsin. I love quilting, and prefer non-modern style quilts. Thanks for the pattern!
Hi, I’m Jackie Mason. I was born and raised in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. For those not familiar with Cedar Rapids, we are known as the cereal capitol because Quaker Oats is located here (remember Captain Crunch?). I haven’t lived in CR all my life. After I was married, my husband and I moved around for about 25 years About 5 years ago, we had the opportunity to move back to Iowa so we decided to go for it. Although my husband would prefer the Florida sunshine, I love being back in my hometown. Although the city has changed, the people haven’t–very friendly and welcoming.
Aiken, SC has been my home for the last 34 years. Growing up in rural New York State, it was quite an adjustment to move to the deep south. However, I have grown to love living here, my children were born and raised here and now my grandchildren are within easy driving distance. In a few hours we can be in the mountains or dipping our toes in the ocean. Aiken has wonderful historic districts and a thriving downtown. Although the summers can be hot and humid ( hooray for air conditioning! ) you can’t beat the mild winters. I don’t miss driving in ice and snow!!
I live in Leesburg, Georgia and my heart is in another place. I would love to live in Tennessee, but I don’t think that will happen, but at least, I can visit often. ๐ Thanks for the giveaway.
I grew up in Decatur Illinois but I now live in Lakeside CA and have been here so long it is home. I am heading to Wisconsin this weekend for a visit but sadly won’t be close enough to visit Primitive Gatherings. I will be looking for shops near Amherst Junction and Tomahawk. Anyone have a recommendation?
I consider Pittsburgh to be my hometown since I grew up there. But I have lived over half my life in a small town in Kentucky. I like both places pretty well.
I’m Billie in Elgin, Texas. We retired here from Austin. It would be fun to leave somewhere like Vermont at least during the summer. Otherwise, I’m content.
I am from Michigan and my HOME TOWN is DETROIT…it really is a GREAT place!!!! But… my heart is in northern Michigan, Lewiston, the simple life!!!!!, with lots of time to sew!!!!
My name is Joann McLean and I live in Mitchell ON. We have lived here for 15 yrs which is the longest we have ever lived anywhere..and I don’t know why we haven’t left yet because it really isn’t “our town” I like my old house, Il ove my studio and we enjoy walking along the nearby river but it just isn’t home! Home is about 2 hours from here and I have been hanging on to the house that my great-grandparents bought in 1863 on Nov 6th (which just happens to be my b-day) Hubby just recently gave his retirement notice and next year is going to be big for us as we finally move down and begin the huge renovation and rebuild of “our old house’ Thanks for the opportunity to win your lovely prizes!
My name is Kay. I live in Springdale, Arkansas. Growing up here, I couldn’t wait to leave. I joined the Air Force and spent 20 years trying to get back home. I like living here. Yeah, there’s some things I’d like to change but after living all over the world, home is best.
Hi Lisa, my name is Connie Spalding and I live in Fife Lake, Michigan. I love where I live on the lake and we also have a cabin on the Manistee River which is only seven miles from home. My husband and I are both retired and love both the lake and river living and all of the fun water activities and wonderful people we meet along the way. Of course, quilting is my biggest passion (or vices, as my husband says) and I love and use Moda fabrics probably 99 percent of the time. I love all of your Moda lines and was fortunate to take one of your classes in Bellaire, Michigan this summer (where I also received one of your Moda Candy packs) I am excited to make your project and also use your wools on it. I can’t think of a better place to live than in beautiful northern Michigan.
I love your red, white and blue fabrics and the quilt with the lamb on it. Manton, Michigan is my hometown. I moved here 35 years ago from Detroit. I love the woods where we built our home, with the wildlife, and raised our girls here.
Hi! I’m Tina and I live in Pendleton, Oregon. In about two days, the world famous Pendleton Round Up officially starts! The town is beginning to fill up with people from all over the place and you can just feel the excitement in the air! Pretty much the whole thing is run with the help of volunteers. It’s usually a LOT of fun. Let ‘er Buck!!
I am Bridgid and I live in Lake Elsinore, CA. I love the California weather but I also miss back east. I miss the food and the 4 seasons. Where I live we only have maybe 2 seasons. I miss the beautiful colors of fall and the white blanket of winter. Pick me Jeter and Presley, pick me!!!
Sharon from Central Jersey…. those that know me know I am always “planning my escape”… lol! Even though I was born and raised Central Jersey… I do not following the Jersey Girl profile. No long nails, no big hair, no “wanna piece of me” attitude… lol! Nope… I am definitely not living where I belong… I belong in an old farmhouse on a few acres of property out in the country… or a cabin by the lake… with plenty of wool and homecooked meals… lol! So, yes! Please write my name on a ball that Jeter or Presley always like to fetch! I’d sure love a kit of this great patriotic sheep quilt!
Hi name is Jo Ann. I live in Lancaster CA. I love my town because my Grandchildren are here. If I had a choice though, I would like to live on east coast near my sister in Annapolis MD. I triy and go back each summer and we take a 2 week trip to Maine. Love it there also. Thanks for the chance at your wonderful prizes.
I’m from Okemos, Michigan, and I do love my hometown. It’s a great place to raise a family – slower pace than a big city, good schools, safe community, lots of convenient shopping, and close to Michigan State University for sporting events, cultural events and lovely walks on campus. I don’t know that it’s my dream town, but it is where I raised my children and where we made our home, and that’s very important to me.
Thanks for your very interesting and frank blog report on your hometown, and for the chance to win some of your beautiful fabric.
I live in Walnut, Calif. So many people have asked “Where is Walnut? the City made a t-shirt with “Where’s Walnut/” on the front and a map on the back! I have lived here since 1976. Even thought it is only 30 miles from Los Angeles, the beutiful hiking and equestrian trails give it a rural feel. I am proud to be a native born Californian!
I live in Oskosh,WI, but I was born in Cincinnati, OH and lived most of my life in Fond du Lac, WI. I was a G&L kid, transported to Wisconsin with my parents in the late 50’s when Giddings & Lewis bought out Cincinnati Planner. As a child my Heart was in Cincinnati where we went for every Holiday & Vacation until my grandparents died – it wasn’t a Holiday unless you were in the car going there. Before the big highways, it was more interesting, at Christmas you could see all the homes decorated in every town you went thru. Somewhere deep inside me, I know houses should be brick and there should be lots of hills and a really big river with barges, lots of parks – one with a marble slide, you brought waxed paper to sit on the first time you went down it in the Spring. I love violets, I think because I remember stopping at a park to pick some with my Dad every Spring. And getting Opera Creams, hand dipped chocolates from Aglamesis in Oakley, the area of Cincinnati that we lived in when I was little – my brother sends me a box every year for my birthday, he took over that job after our Mom died, just like I took over buying her Red roses for every special date after our Dad died.
Thanks for the lovely little pattern & the chance to share memories.
I live in Bristol, UK but was born and raised in Denmark so I understand your dilemma. I’ve just spent the evening singing the Praise of Denmark, as I’ve just returned from there, with the comment “why do you live in the UK then?” Fair comment. Truth is that I LOVE where I live and I also love where I come from.
First time on your blog and I’m VERY happy to see the two (most recent ;-)) loves of mine; wool AND applique.
Thanks for the opportunity to discover you and your ideas.
My name is Barbara and my hometown is Racine, WI – so I do know where you live. Wisconsin will aways be my home – Racine is where I grew up and our cottage in the northwoods is where my heart is. I have been spending summers there since I have been 5 years old. It is located in the Harrison Hills, halfway between Rhinelander and Tomahawk. I have lived in Iowa, Florida, and now Georgia, Would love a chance to win!
My name is Pam Larson and I live in Sunriver Oregon. We are a resort community so the population ebbs and flows. My favorite time of the year is between labor day and memorial day…hardly any tourists. I can actually walk the dog without getting hit by a bicycle being ridden by a teenager. We have lived here full time for 4 years so it’s not my home town…it’s the place we used to vacation and fell in love with so built our dream home here.
We moved here from Portland Or. but my DH and I are both from other places. I lived and went to school in the Denver area but was born in Joliet Ill..but lived in Portland longer than any other place so I guess Portland is my home town..Best thing about Portland is you are 1 1/2 hrs away from the mountains and 1 1/2 hrs away from the beach. AND this is big….they film Grimm there..if you have not seen it try to watch it. They use every part of Portland..makes me home sick. Worst thing of course is all the rain…don’t miss that.
Hi, my name is Alice and I live in Bucharest, Romania. I was born in a city named Targoviste, about 50 miles from my current city. What I miss is my family, as I don’t get to see them as much as I used to before moving to the “Big city”,
My name is Beth and I’m from Saint Joseph Michigan. We are known for our sandy beaches on the shores of Lake Michigan. I don’t get to enjoy the beach very often because I’m usually at work! I love Moda fabric! Thanks for the opportunity to win the giveaway! Enjoy your fall!!
I’m Yvonne. I live in Los Angeles. Moved here for school & because my husband is in the TV industry. My heart is definitely somewhere else- Portland, Oregon, where hubby & I met in college. Thanks for the chance to win!
Hi Lisa, My name is Marie and I live in Grove City, Ohio. I have lived here for 14 years and am now starting to feel like this is my hometown. I am very blessed to have 3 great quilt shops with in 3o minutes of my house. Only 1 of them sells any wool or wool projects and that is on a limited basis. I was thrilled to find Primitive Gatherings on line and have signed up for the pin cushions, wool gatherers, and the autumn bom. I enjoy your site and your blogs very much. Thanks for everything. P.S.: the people that answer the phone are very, very helpful and nice. Marie
Lisa – I just made it to you store for the first time this Aug. I didn’t want to leave. Yes your store is the best thing in that town. I live in Oak Ridge, MO. You ask were is that, 1-1/2 hours south from St. Louis. I love your kits. Thanks, Nancy Pleimann
Hello! I am Karen Wheeler, and live in Fremont, CA. I love this place and yet am not from CA, but a small town in Oklahoma, (Idabel). Fremont has a multi-cultural community and that is wonderful. I go visit my family in Oklahoma, but my heart and soul is with our home and family in Fremont. I have been working in wool for a few months and love the example of yours that shows the wool on the patchwork. It is nice to see others comments and know that we are all connected and a community with our shared interests.
Thank you for making leaving a comment so easy, since I really don’t blog, twit, or do Facebook – just not enough hours in my day. I live in Brookhaven, MS – population about 13,000. I do love it – but must admit the summers are a little humid – however, after living in the Northern Virginia area for 35 years and spending quite a bit of time shoveling snow and sitting in traffic jams, MS is a piece of cake. It’s nice to be back near family also. Love your patterns and fabric – the highlight of going to the Houston quilt show is going to your booth – when you can get in that is. Thank you for the chance to win the great prizes.
Hi Lisa, Thanks for sharing your story. I live in MA and have lived in my hometown for 17 years. While I like it here, my heart is in maine where I have spent summers since I was little. I have lots of relatives and a family camp in Maine and it always feels like I’m going home when we head there for our summer vacation. Thanks for participating and offering a chance to win some fabric prizes!!
I live in Long Beach, California and it is a beautiful city to live in. But I will have to admit, it , like all pretty cities in California, have to many people on the roads. There always seems to be a traffic jam somewhere. Three out of my four grandchildren live in Colorado, and I just might call that home someday also. Thanks for giving us quilters a chance at a nice gift. Keep up your great work, your shop is my favorite also.
Hello! What beautiful fabric ; ) Such a charming wool lamb on your project. Very creative + fun. I live in Indiana and really cannot say that I love it here. We describe it as “Indiana, the state you drive thru to get to somewhere nice” If I could, I’d move to Carmel, IN – close to Indianapolis + always has something to do!
comment on this postโฆtell me who you are, where you are from and if you love your โhometownโ or if your heart is really in another placeโฆ.
Hi, I live in Leicestershire in the UK, whilst it’s ok here I would rather be near to a pebble beach on a quiet spot on the south coast, then I could fall asleep to the sound of the sea (in my dreams!! ) Love the colours of the fabrics.
Your little sheep quilt is soo cute. I would love to win a kit! My name is Carmen and I’m from Ord, Nebraska, but my hometown will always be a tiny little town 25 miles away, Cotesfield. Wierd name, I know. Not much there anymore, no businesses left, even our little church closed last year and the building was moved. Oh well, bloom where you are planted, right??
Your little quilt is so adorable. I love the little sheep. I used to raise my own sheep for their wool. I loved to spin their fleece and knit. Boy I miss them. I call home, Upstate New York and it’s right where I belong. We are transplanted from the hectic city life and I would never go back. Your right, Moda is the BEST!
Hi My name is Debby I live in Winterset, Ia Madison Co. Birthplace of John Wayne, known for the Bridges of Madison County, The Covered Bridge Festival and Fons and Porter. Wonderful place to live. I love quilting your shop and your blog.
I love my hometown in Utah. Lived there all my life, so I wouldn’t know better. People are friendly and willing yo help. You are coming to Utah (Brigham City) in January. I hope to see you there!
I live in Argyle Texas, we are a suburb of the Dallas Ft. Worth area. It’s not my hometown, just where we landed 26 years ago. Someday we would like to live in Colorado. Love your patterns, thanks for the giveaway and free pattern.
My name is Cheryl and I am from Sullivan, Illinois a small town of 4500 people. I love my hometown because all my family is here except my oldest daughter who lives about 1 hour away. Can’t get much better than that. Even though I have never been to your shop, I love your website and visit it at least three times a week (or more) to see what is happening on the blogs or what is new in the stores. Thank you for a wonderful site full of patterns and fabrics that always puts a smile on my face.
My hometown is Indiana, PA, which will always hold a special place in my heart. Now that my boys are growing up in Delmont, PA I’ve become attached to this sweet little town, too!
I am Lindi and I live in Williamsport, Pa. I met my husband in Cleveland , TN and tell him almost every week “The day you retire, we are moving back to TN. You have torture me for 12 years(…plus the 3 more), now I get to torture you!” Just can’t wait!!!
I live in Calgary, Alberta which is a great city. I love being surrounded by all the beautiful Rocky Mountains scenery. To make me truly happy, it is only missing one thing – the ocean. I miss the ocean and I will be moving when I retire in a few years. Thanks for the pattern and a chance in your giveaway.
Hi, Lisa! I’m Nichole from a smallish Philly suburb that has grown so much that it doesn’t feel so much like home anymore ๐ …itt’s certainly safe and just fine but just isn’t like it used to be. Our families are local so we are staying for now… Thanks for the cute pattern and giveaways !
I may have been born in VA, but I have lived in the midwest, California, Pennsylvania and now outside of Charlotte,NC. But my true home is Wisconsin. I grew up near Lake Michigan, and it can be stinky too!
My name is Kathy and I live in the Portland, OR area. We moved here 19 years ago from South Carolina but I grew up in New Jersey. I was not happy when we first moved here but I have grown to love it. My only bit of sadness comes from the fact that my daughter lives 2,000 miles away. But we are going to split our time between here (and our son and daughter in law) and there (with our daughter and son in law) starting in January.
Lisa, I always love to see your blog! I’m living in Lakeland FL right now, but hometown is Grand Rapids, MI and if pressed, I’d have to say my heart is still in GR – I have two wonderful sisters that I don’t get to see much…I miss them ALOT and if the circumstances were different, I’d move back in a heartbeat! Love your stuff – thank you for your hard work which is inspiring.
Hi, my name is Geri and I live in Schereville, In. We are planning a bus trip to your shop in Oct and can’t wait. I love my hometown, but am ready to move to have more land. Wish I lived closer to your shop, but shoping on line is also great!! Thanks Ger
Hi – I am from Eau Claire WI and I do like Eau Claire. But I too love Menasha/Neenah. My best friend from college grew up right down on 9th street from you and she is now living in Neenah on the “stinky lake”. We still get together often and I always feel like I am coming home when we arrive there. Some of my favorite places to eat in Menasha/Neenah is the Cimaron – good fish according to Sue. I don’t like fish. Another place we eat is Waverly – when they take me out on the boat or the Stoned Toad when the sturgeon season is coming around. Of course, I always try to make a stop to the shop – as well as visit Momma Joan. You do have an awesome place to live!
I am Barbara and I live and work in Wauwatosa, WI, just west of Milwaukee. Known as Tosa to those who live around here. It is beautiful place with great community spirit! I like it here and seldom need to drive more than five miles to get to any of my favorite places, except for Primitive Gatherings. I agree with the board member who said women come to Menasha just to shop at Primitive Gatherings – I’m one of those women! Thanks for your wonderful store and giveaway offer.
Hi! My name is Susan and I live in McKinney, TX. I have been here about 2 years so it is not really my hometown. I’m from a suburb of Cleveland, OH and during this time of year is when I miss the midwest the most! I dream of moving back up north someday, but I am trying my best to live in the present and enjoy my time in the south!
Hi, I am Holly and I live in Morris Illinois which is where I was born and raised. I went to school in Milwaukee and lived there for 11 years before I returned to my home town kicking and screaming. But, now that I have be back for more than 20 years, I am so proud to say this is my home town and this is where I raised my boys. Love your work, your shop and the Gathering….what else needs to be in Menasha besides that?
I live in Sidney, Ohio. Not my favorite place but I have lived here for thirty years. I would love to live in Freyburg, Ohio. Not even sure Freyburg has a zip code. Thank for a chance to win.
I love my hometown of Soda springs, Idaho; but for the past 22 or so years we have lived in Evanston, Wyoming.
Since our kids have grown up here, it certainly feels like home. Thank you for the chance to win!
My name is Cathy and I live in Anderson In. It seems that I have moved alot in my lifetime but, home is where the quilts hang. I have been to Primitive Gatherings once and I love the shop. I have been lucky enough to find you at quilt shows that are within driving distance and I know how easy it is to order online. Love your color choices and the wool is heavenly.
I live in Stevenson Washington and I have to admit when I first moved here in 1967 as a new bride it was cultural shock. I had grown up in a city and this is so rural. But, alter all these years I realized that I am truly home. I love your work. Thank you for participating.
My name is Liza and I grew up near Cooperstown, NY. I have lived in Utica, NY my entire adult life. It is a small city (60,000) ish. I love it because it’s small enough to know lots of people , but big enough to have several things to do. Tiger Lily Quilt shop is our local quilt shop. Thank you for the give away. I can’t wait to see how Jeter & Presley choose the winners ๐
My name is Trisch. I have lived for the last 18 years in Omaha, NE. I grew up in Topeka, KS. I like living in Omaha. Along with one daughter and my husband, I also have some wonderful friends here. Thanks for the chance to win. I have sewn for many, many years, but just recently started quilting. Oh what fun I am having!!!!
We live in Piedmont, OK. Although we lived in OK until about 16 years ago we never lived in such a small town. Piedmont just got it’s second 4 way stop (to go along with the first 4 way stop and the flashing red/yellow light). The town is growing and we’re starting to check things out.
My name is Kathie and I live in rural O’Brien, FL, close to springs and the Suwannee River. I love it here, it is peaceful, a slow pace and friendly people. Thank you for a chance to win your giveaway!
Good evening, My hometown is Dousman,WI home of the Bullfrog races. It’s a quite little town, with a bullfrog painted on the water tower. ๐ Primitive Gathering is the reason I stop in Menasha in Sept. on my way up to Shawano, WI for a basket workshop. I love your shop. ๐
My name iTeresa and I am from Hometown IL [no kidding] It ia a small town and I loved growing up there. and now when I go back 30 years later there are still so many people that I know!
This is Shirley and I live in Florissant, Mo. Florissant is French for Valley of Flowers and is a charming city. I absolutely love living here! So much to do, the city has several sponsered fairs, clubs, our own golf course (wow) and many more! This city is full of 50’s kind of residents. Children, your mom will know what you have done before you get home-LOL! Thank you for kit giveaway-just love the pattern and fabrics. I hope Jeter and Presley dig real deep and pull my number. Love to be a winner!
We live in the country but have a wonderful small town. We are known for the Lund boats they make. I grew up in the big City but love it here. Quiet and friendly and our grandson only lives 8 miles away:) As always love your patterns and work.
Hey I’m Angie from Ash,NC I’ve lived here all my life, and yes my heart is somewhere else. I would love to someday move to the mountains of NC to live. Most folks would like it here because I live on the coast about 20 minutes from the Atlantic ocean. We don’t have any quilt shops in my area have to drive a hour to get to one and then they don’t have the dark stuff like you do it’s all beachy, brights and I don’t care for it. I’m adog lover too hope they pick me. Thanks Lisa!
I’m actually from Winslow, Maine…similar to WI in lots of ways. I met you this summer in Raleigh and begged you to come to Maine to one of our Quilt Shows! The bad thing about my hometown is that there is no quilt shop, the good thing is the small-town feel, where everyone knows everyone else. Sometimes, that’s very comforting. Would love to win! I do have the small pack of charms you gave out at your class, so can start the project soon! Thanks again, Joyce
I live in San Jose, CA right now but it’s not my hometown. I’m originally from Eureka, CA and I miss it dearly! I will definitely be moving back up there sometime soon!
Hi everyone – I am Kate and I live in Assonet, MA. I live in a small town that is about 40 minutes from the Cape and about 40 minutes from Boston. I love this area – quiet when you need it, but close enough to the big city that you can have excitement and fun when you want it! Only bad thing about living here is that I am not close to any great quilt shops and do the majority of my shopping online.
Hi Lisa!
My hometown is Menominee, MI and the best thing about it is that I go right through Menasha to get there from Minnesota! I love your project and can’t wait to make it! Linda B.
I live in a small town called Kaysville in Utah. I have lived here for 17 years and do like it because it is so calm and quite but still close to bigger cities if you need stopping, etc. I would love to live in a smaller town where my grandparents lived that is where my heart is. I lived with my grandparents in the summers the best part of my life was with them. Thanks for your pattern, I really like your design and style of quilts.
YOU ARE MY QUILT STAR!!! I was able to meet you at the Spring Quilt Festival. Everything about your booth was warm and welcoming. I was hooked after I joined my first summer BOW a few years ago. I read every detailed instruction and now use your method on all wool projects and attempt to teach others. Your projects warm up my home and dazzle my quilt friends.
I live in a little place called Quiet Dell in WV. I love it here but not close enough to your shop. Northcentral WV needs quilt shops like yours. I would start one but too busy caring for veterans at our local VAMC. Maybe one day.
I live on Cape Cod and I absolutely love it. My original hometown is Brookline, a large town close to Boston. It was a wonderful place to grow up but my heart now belongs to the Cape
We sorta live in our home town. Our home is 10 miles outside where we grew up but we’re very much still in our “stomping grounds” . We love it because we’re in the country with plenty of room for the animals, etc.
My word, your pups will have a tough time with this number. I live in the country between one city and 1 town. Not really a city girl – love the country.
I live in St. Thomas, Ontario, and I love my life here. Good pace, countryside just minutes away, and good quilting friends. Love your fabrics. Thanks for the chance to win.
First of all, beautiful fabric and little quilt!!!! Gorgeous!!! My little hometown is so special to me. It’s where I live now and just grew up about 5 miles from here on a dirt road. It is where I had my first job. It is a one caution light town and I love it here. Down the road about 10 miles is Abraham Lincoln’s Birthplace National Park and each October we celebrate Lincoln Days. The entire business part of town shuts down and we have a parade, Lincoln look alike contests, rail splitting contests, a quilt show in a 200 year old church and the best food and crafts you can find. Yep, I like just where I am. ๐
HI Lisa, I love your quilt design. We are just coming out of winter here in Sydney Australia and the design and colours you have used create a warm and cosy feel. I do love winter!! My hometown is Sydney Australia and I just love it for so many reasons. Not just for the beautiful surrounds and the wonderful and sometimes crazy mix of people we have but for the simple fact that my family and friends are here and so is my heart!
My hometown is in East Wakefield, NH. We have built a log cabin on a small quiet lake where we live year round. I love walking my dog and taking my kayak out. In winter I love to go x-country skiing with the dog. I love it here, close to the ocean and the mountains, and wonderful neighbors.
I’m Joyce and I’ve lived here in Lee’s Summit, Mo for 37 years but my real hometown is about ten miles away. Thats where my family all used to live. All are gone now so I don’t go back. This is a good town, just doesn’t have my whole heart.
I live within 10 miles of where I grew up and wouldn’t have it any other way…. My hometown is Burdick, KS….a town of almost 100 with a rich Swedish heritage. Five generations of my family have attended the same church. Our roots are deep, but my cousins have scattered across the globe. A great combination of providing roots, but sprouting wings. You are absolutely my favorite designer!
Love the fabrics. I’ve only lived here. Smithville, for 12 years, but I felt like it was my hometown before I actually lived here.
It was my grandparents hometown. They have passed on, it’s not quite the same as I remember it, but I hope my grandchildren are making happy memories here now.
My hometown is Knox, PA. Very, very small, but when I go through town now, I don’t know alot of the people anymore. I only live 20 minutes from there. There really isn’t anything great or special about Knox, it’s just home!
I live on my brother’s farm outside the tiny town of Trenton, Florida, USA. It’s great for multiple generations to live in close proximity to each other so can help in times of need, and we celebrate together too. Thanks for the lovely giveaway and introduction to your home town.
I really LIKE my hometown, not sure LOVE is in order. What I do love is living on Long Island. I think it gives you the best of all worlds; the lovely 4 seasons, fall is fantastic here, the ability to go to beaches and also into the city very easily. Thank you for the opportunity to win one of those great prizes!
Hi! My name is Toni and I’m from a small town in Central New York – Yorkville. I found that i love working with wool and absolutely love the projects that you design. I only wish I had more time to play! I’ve lived in this town my whole life (50+ yrs) and am beginning to think it might be time to move on. Lots of decisions to make but I’d rather shop for wool and stitch ti together. Thought you would be at the quilt show in Philadelphia this coming weekend – was looking forward to meeting you. Maybe another time…….
I have lived in my hometown for 21 years and yet it still doesn’t feel like home. Sad, but true. It is Cottage Grove, MN a bedroom community of St. Paul, MN. A fine town of 35,000 but nothing real special about it that calls to me. Now, if it had a quilt shop, that would help! Thanks for the chance at your giveaway.
Hi Lisa!
I’m Leslie, I live in Kenora Ontario Canada. I like it here, but my heart is in BC, on Vancouver Island, Tofino area! But anywhere I can see water and waves! (Not the bathtub either, LOL!). I like we are about 2 hrs from our next biggest community, Winnipeg, Manitoba. We are also about 2 hrs from the Canadian-USA border and into Minnesota or North Dakota. Lots of fresh air, blue skies and blue lakes, pickeral fish and small town living!
Thanks for the giveaway for your little quilt, soooo cute! I”m looking forward to seeing your newest fabric too!
Take care, Leslie
I was raised in a very, very small community attending a one-room grade school in which I was the only girl in my grade school. I graduated from the only high school in our county. When I started to college, I attended the only university in our state at the time. Now I live 1,000 miles away in a suburb of Tulsa. This has been “homw” for almost 40 years. I lived my adult life here and my roots are my roots. I am a blend of the two. My daughter has moved to Albuquerque and has two children and I just cannot get used to the desert. I long for the hills and snow – not sand, although there is snow once ocassionally in the desert. Appalachia is rich is crafting!
Hi Lisa – I live in Grand Rapids, Michigan and love my town. We have some great quilt shops here. I was at the AQS show here in August and had the best time. I visited your booth and loved your quilts, your patterns and your fabrics. I came home that day and went to your web site, signed up to receive your blog and am more excited about quilting than ever!
My hometown for the last 37 years is the little town of Albin, Wy. My “real” hometown is Baggs, WY. I love to go home…..beautiful little valley. I have enjoyed looking through your blog and do love your little project. That would be fun to make. I like the addition of the wool. Great giveaway!
My hometown is in the deep south. I live in Central Florida, and even though I was not born here, I feel that it is my hometown. My parents both grew up here, but lived in the Big Apple when I was born. I’ve lived here most of my life, and would not change it for anything. Thanks for the fabulous pattern and amazing giveaway.
That is a really nice give away. I moved to my husbands home town when we got married 33 years ago in Hopewell Cape NB. It is the town that has the Hopewell Rocks. The world’s largest flower plots. I over look the river and have my quilt frames sitting in fron of the window to watch the change in the tides. It is very relaxing.
Hi Lisa! My name is Amy, and I love wool! I live outside Chicago now, but my heart is at the ocean. Loved reading about Menasha. ๐ I go there just for your store. It was wonderful being in your lecture on Friday in Madison. Thank you!
I live in Cameron, NC. I do not consider this my hometown. I do not know what I claim as a home town. I was born in Indiana moved when I was 10 to Pennsylvania. I married my husband a Marine at the age of 21 and have moved 9 times since then. My parents have moved away from where I graduated high school so I can not even claim where they live as my home town.
I live in Music City USA home of country music and The Grand Old Opry aka Nashville, TN. My heart is and will always be The Great Smokey Mountains (my family was one of the first families of TN)
Even though I’ve lived in SW FL for almost 8 years, I grew up in Michigan’s UP. Even though you usually only get winter and July 4 (well, not this year….), I’d love to live there again. I’m a sucker for anything red, white, and blue, so I’d LOVE to win some of your GORGEOUS fabric! Thanks for the opportunity.
Hi, I’m Jodi and I live in Northern California. I thought “honmetown” was where you are from, or where you consider “home”. Even though I have lived in California for over 20 years, I still consider Alaska home. I grew up on 40 acres in Sutton and went to school in Palmer. I miss Alaska and visit when I can. My best friend since 4th grade still lives there.
Thank you and Moda for an awesome giveaway and a chance to win. You are so genereous to have so many winners! Your kit is darling! You Rock! Woot! Woot!
Hi, my name is Terry and I live in Ohio. We live in the country, so I don’t feel like I have a hometown really, but I do love where we live. There’s farmland and natural areas all around us. It’s really a beautiful place to live. Thanks for the giveaway! :0)
I currently live in Warrenton VA and was born in Arlington VA — both suburbs of Washington DC…so I’ve always felt “at home”. Thanks for a chance to win – laurie
Hi I am Pam and I live in Chippewa Falls Wisconsin. Our town is known for the Leinenkugels brewery. I have many wonderful friends who share the love of quilting with me and also my children and grandchildren. Your shop is the most awesome shop I have ever seen and I am amazed how you keep creating more things. If I could I would make everything there. Keep up the wonderful work .
I live in a small Maine town call Jay. I guess you would have to say I am happy here, because live only about a mile from where I grew up. Am less than 2 hrs. from our beautiful Maine coastal towns and only 35 mins. from a couple of large cities for shopping. The only way I would every leave, is if I could afford a home right on the ocean….then I would be there only summers.
Great giveaways and hoping to be one of the lucky ones.
I live in New Berlin, Wisconsin, and there is nothing special about my city, ( there is no quilt shop). I also have to admit I have never lived anywhere else. So I guess my heart belongs here. Thank-you for the chance at the giveaways
My name is Rebecca and I live in Plant City FL. I don’t consider this my hometown and doubt I ever will. My heart is in a small town in VT .. I will always consider it home. Thank you for a chance to win the wonderful fabric.
tell me who you are– Ani Hudson, …..where you are from — Wilmington, NC…. and if you love your “hometown” or if your heart is really in another place….I ‘like’ Wilmington, do not love at all. It is an OK place but my heart belongs to the southwest, Sante Fe will do nicely thank you! =0)
I live in a very small village in the heart of the metro Detroit area. We are suffering hard times here with the recent hits the auto industry has taken. We are a little neglected and have scars and bruises around here but I can’t help loving my hometown. I love the down to earth people we have around here. The state of Michigan is so beautiful and has a little bit of everything. My heart will always be here even if my body goes to warmer regions in the winter.
I went to my first quilt show in Grand Rapids a few weeks ago. I’m a newbie quilter and your shop was my absolute favorite! I’m
Not just saying this cause I want to win a kit either! I loved the look and feel of all your beautiful projects. I think many others feel the same as your booth always had the longest check out line!
I live west of St Louis in St Charles. It is very much home to me. There are many quilt shops in a 50 mile radius. So always have inspiration. Lots of history and good food. Thanks so a chance to win.
I live in Devils Lake ND and we have a wonderful quilt store called Quilt Essential. I was just threre today in fact and enjoyed all the yummy fabric. Thanks for the chance to win some beautiful fabric!
I live in Waverly, Iowa, which is hometown to both my husband and I. It is a perfect mid-sized town to raise a family, yet close enough to get to a bigger city, if needed. We moved away for the first 13 years we were married, and moved back 20 years ago, no regrets! The new fabric line looks “yummy.” I’ll be seeing you, and spending some money, at the AQS show in Des Moines in October.
I live in my husband’s hometown of Sutton, NE. We’ve lived here for almost 4 years and it still does not feel like my hometown. I still consider my hometown as Prinsburg, MN where I grew up. It’s not a very big town but my roots are there. I love your Moda Candy Project. Hoping to win some of your fabric. Thanks for the opportunity.
My name is Diane and I live in Janesville, Wisconsin and the most exciting thing in my hometown now (2nd to our quilt shop, Life’s A Stitch) is Paul Ryan!
Home is currently Randleman NC, but “home” is Delaware. Enjoy not being on the road this weekend! I was glad you got to Raleigh this summer. Great booth!
What fun to read about so many home towns! I’m Norma from Granite Bay, CA (a suburb of Sacramento) half way between San Francisco and Lake Tahoe – a great home town. Lisa, I’ve finished block 12 of Summer BOW – love it – 2 of your kits, and am working on Jackie’s Album BOM all since learning about your site last Fall. Your patterns are great!
Hi – my name is Kathy Irwin & I live in a little bitty west Texas town Idalou, TX. We are located outside of Lubbock, TX. The quilt shop we love is Rachel’s in Lubbock. It’s fabulous. We sew, we hook rugs, we embroider and we love your patterns!
I’m an American in Australia from a small town in Michigan to a large town in Brisbane, Queensland. I do miss Michigan in the Fall. Here it is Spring – so strange to have opposite seasons.
First off I want to say ‘WOW’, what a generous giveaway and pattern! Thanks so much! I got to meet you this past spring at Int. Quilt show in Cinn. I just started an online etsy shop and carry a lot of wool appl. patterns, including yours! It is my hope/dream to someday own a primitive needlework shop and put our town back on the map. LOL (I used to own a cross stitch shop several yrs. ago).
I live in Ashland, Ky. (home of country singers -the Judds and actor/game show host – Chuck Woolery. I was born here, but lived in northern Oh. most of my life, lived several other places and came back here to my ‘roots’. It is beautiful here in the Spring and Fall and we actually have a huge park in the middle of town called ‘Central Park’ which gets all decked out at Christmas time. So yes, I have grown to love it here.
We are very fortunate to have several quilt shops in our area, but not much wool applique/patterns, etc. I am hoping to change that in the near future.

I’m Donna currently living in Panama City, FL. This is home. I am happy here; however, part of me will always belong to the graceful, serene life I remember from Columbus, MS.
I live in an average town right on then IL/IN border-Lansing, IL. Nothing really special about it except that it’s where my husband grew up, we raised our famil here and now they’re raising their families here….so, I guess it’s just become “home” because home for me is where my family is! We are conveniently located about 30 min. from always-exciting Chicago and about an hour east of the Michigan border with its beautiful beaches and wineries….so it’s not a bad place to live at all! Thanks for sharing ( loved your booth at the Grand Rapids Quiltfest…always a treat to see it!).
I’m Ellen and I’m from Westlake, OH, just outside of Cleveland. My husband and I lived in Maryland/worked in DC for a while, but I’m glad we came back to this area. So much to see and do! I love the addition of the wool to the quilt – the sheep is adorable. Thanks for the giveaway!
My heart will always be in my hometown of Sauk Centre, MN. Now we live in a rural Western MN community, I miss the lakes, hills, trees, and being near family.

Hi, my name is Kathy and I live in Greenwood SC; I’ve been here for 6 years and it’s starting to feel more like my hometown…but I lived in Portland Maine for most of my life and I know it by heart! I have to get a ‘fix’ every now and then and reconnect to all the wonderful things I love about that city!! Thanks for such an awesome giveaway! Be especially blessed!
My name is Christine and I live in Gilbert, Arizona. We jut moved here in January, but I feel like my heart is here. Wherever my family is, that’s where my heart is, so as long as I’m with them I’m happy.
I currently live in Thousand Oaks CA, and I do like where I live but my heart will always be in my hometown of Exeter NH, I still call it home, even though I have live in CA longer. Thanks for a chance to win some of your beautiful fabric.
I LOVE everything about Primitive Gatherings fabric lines. If you love “country” there is nothing better! We’ve just recently retired from a farming occupation of 40 years so it will be forever “in the blood”. To win one of your prizes for my quilting stash would be grrreat!
Greetings from Maple Ridge BC Canada where I have lived for the past ten years; previously from Oregon. . .Enjoyed your blog and thanks for the chance for the giveaway.
I Love everything about Primitive Gatherings fabric lines! For country decorating and quilting there is nothing better. To win one of your prizes for my quilting stash would be a “windfall”!

I AM FROM CALIFORNIA….I CURRENTLY LIVE IN OREGON. IT IS VERY PRETTY AND QUIET BUT, MY REAL HOME IS CALIFORNIA WHERE MY FAMILY IS…..LOVE THE PATTERN….GREAT GIVEAWAY!
I live in Palmdale , California and the thing I like best about it is that in 2 hours you can be
At the beach or in the mountains. We have one quilt shop with lots of Moda fabric, but no
Wool or reproduction fabrics. That’s why I have to go to read to california and the long beach
Shows to visit the Primitive Gatherings booth!
Hometown is Houston Tx I am one of those rare birds-native houstonian! I love love love your stuff & had lots of fun at your class in Alabama which I did finish. My favorite thing about Houston is the people b/c for such a big city we are a pretty nice bunch of people! Mexican food here is awesome!!! BBQ too
I grew up in Neenah WI, the other side of the tracks. I moved to Menasha WI when I was married in 1967. Eight years ago we moved back to my hometown of Neenah. No big moves in my life. I think WI is a beautiful state and I don’t plan on moving again.
I am from Kaukauna home of the original Kaukauna Cheese spread now actually made in your home town of Little Chute. Recently moved to the Town of Vandenbroek which is rural Kaukauna/Little Chute. We bought my mother’s house with a great private lot. Love the country! I love looking at your Pinterest posts on my lunch 1/2.
Tried a couple recipe suggestions. Pick me cutie pies! Did I mention my son is a Yankee fan.
I love your project for this post. It’s cute and the colors are perfect! I live in a suburb of Minneapolis, but my heart is in northern MN. I’m originally from the U.P. of MI, but grew up in the twin cities here in MN. I spend as much of my vacation time as possible “up north” and hope to some day find a little spot to call my own in the woods of northern MN.
I love your wool patterns-i have a few that I have made up already. I come from Covina, CA which is where I have lived the longest and I like it but I am ready to move to a small, quiet town near a lake and forest. Maybe when we retire!

Hi! I’m Tina and I live in Carson City, Nevada – a great town! The only thing missing is a great primitive quilt shop. I would love to learn how to work with wool but don’t have a clue! Maybe you guys could open up a Primitive Gatherings II shop out here?!!
Hey yall! I am from southern Alabama, a small town called Ozark. We have a great quilt shop, Front Porch Quilt Shoppe (has blog & website). I live now in a small country community near Ozark, – Bertha, Alabama. Located right in the middle of peanuts and cotton farming country. Cotton is king! We have great Autumn festivals, jamborees, pumpkin patches, corn mazes. You would love to visit here in the Autumn season.
I love -did I say love – your Moda project. If I am not lucky enough to win, (can I bride the pups with doggy biscuits?) – then I will surely order this kit when it is available.
Hope you enjoy the show this October in Duluth, Ga – you will be about 4 hours from where I am!
Maybe I will see you there!
Hi Lisa! I love your posts and follow your blog all the time. I met you and Nick this past February when you were in Lakeland and my friend and I bought lots of goodies from you. We love all of your fabric and wools. My name is Theresa and I live in Cocoa FL, yes we are near Cocoa Beach and the famous Ron Jon’s Surf Shop. I grew up on Merritt Island which is 17 miles from here and that is “home” to me and always will be. Merritt Island use to be a quiet area but now it is built up which is rather sad. I’ve seen so many changes since my family moved here on my eighth birthday. I went to high school with Tony Gayton who wrote and produced, along with his brother Joe, “Hell on Wheels”. Tony also wrote “Murder by Numbers” and Joe wrote “Uncommon Valor”. I also worked with Joe at Kennedy Space Center before he ventured out to CA. There are a lot of fun things to do here. We also have five quilt shops in the county. I hope to see you at another quilt show!
My home for the past 9-ish years has been Troy, IL. For about 25 years before that, my home was wherever the Air Force sent my husband. Truly, home is where your family is. I know this because prior to marriage, I considered my home to be Belleville, IL sort of because that is where my family settled after my Dad retired from the Air Force. My parents’ families are mostly in NJ … would that be my home? Or, strangely enough, should I consider Tripoli, Libya (that is in Africa) my home since that is where I was born — my Dad was actually stationed there years ago! Again, I feel that my home is where my family is.
PS I love so many of your projects and I actually visited your shop about 5 years ago when my husband had a fishing tournament at Winneconne!
I have been in New England for three years and find it beautiful .I am trying to make it my hometown, since it is where I am all but one week of the year…but a part of my heart will always love the Pacific Northwest, where I grew up.
Hi, Lisa

There is nothing exciting here except maybe the tide. As a kid my parents were missionaries, as an adult I am married to a now retired Navy Submariner. With that being said I have never really had a place to call home so we are trying to put down some roots here, so far so good. Do hope you get some,” you” time so you will have time to smell the flowers, sounds like you are REALLY busy.!!! This blog hop is really fun and just wanna Thank You for your time you put forth!
Right now I’m living in Las Vegas, NV, but I’ve never really felt like this was my home either. I am a east coast girl, born and bred and it is my hope to get back there in the next year or two. I miss four seasons and especially the great autumns that I grew up with! Love this pattern, it is so my style! thanks so much!
I live in the town that I grew up in. My hometown is the county seat and has a rich
“Oregon Trail” heritage. We have a summer festival that is a week long and
a summer of music concerts to entertain all that wish to participate.
Thank you so very much for the adorable pattern…I am a big fan of Primitive Gatherings.
I live in a suburb of San Francisco called Tiburon. It is a bedroom community for the city, and I love love love it here. I moved from smoggy old LA about 30 years ago, and the thing that drew me here was the clear skies. I hated being able to see the air I breathed, and after finishing school, I hi-tailed it out of there and have been up in the bay area ever since.
I love the look of your fabric. It is so right up my ally!
Hi! I’m Gwen. I live in a small, rural farming community about 7 miles from my childhood home. A couple years ago, my husband and I built a new home right in the middle of a 40 acre plot of land– directly between my Mom & Dad’s home and my oldest daughter and her husband’s home. Just up the road is the homeplace of my Grandma and Grandpa– who cleared the land to build their home many, many years ago. I love it here– sometimes at night, when I hear the distant whining of the transfer trucks as they travel down the nearby interstate, I go back in my mind to those precious times when my sisters and I would spend the night with our Grandparents… precious memories! ๐
Thank you and Moda for this wonderful blog hop and for the generous prizes!! ๐
I would love to visit your home town and your shop. I only see bits and pieces, appliquรฉs and patches, and awesome quilts representing it at quilt shows. Meanwhile, I am happy doing your quilts in my own hometown in South Dakota. Thanks for the never-ending array of new quilting ideas and projects.
Hello from NW Iowa! I’m a 30-something PhD student, quilter, wife and pet parent. Even though in the ten years we’ve been together my husband and I have lived in Nebraska and Ohio for graduate school and now Iowa for his job and my final degree, I grew up in a very small town in upstate NY. The area was very typically rural and agricultural, but surrounded by the Adirondack mountains. It is that environment that I miss the most – the forest and dampness because of all the lakes and swamps which also meant that the temperature was lower as well. My heart belongs to the area, but not my hometown per se (since it was so small less than 200 people). Thanks for sharing… and allowing all of us to do so as well.
My hometown is South Boston, VA….small and I thought it was a fine hometown growing up. But my heart is now in Staunton, VA…or wherever my family is…right now it’s the Shenandoah Valley. i love it here.
I love where I live now (Oregon) but my hometown will always be the small Northern California town I grew up in. It has changed so much that I treasure the memories of my childhood there even more!
Hi, I’m Debra and I’m from Ashland KY. This is my hometown, and my family is all around me which makes this great, but there’s always a piece of me that feels like I’d like to live in a beach town just to see if I’d like it or want to rush back home.
I am also looking forward to see what is new in Des Moines! I am finished with my free botw and most of the full size ones–Love them!! I live in Sioux Falls SD but grew up in northern Illinois just a few miles from the Wisc border so am a GREEN BAY PACKER fan all the way back to the 60’s!!!
I have lived in Lafayette LA for over 20 years but my heart still belongs in Wisconsin. I grew up in a suburb of Milwaukee and still spend summer vacation “up north” in Eagle River at the family cottage. I will have to stop at your shop sometime. Thanks for the chance to win.
I’m currently away from home studying at uni but my parents live in Townsville, sunny North Queensland, Australia. It has beautiful views of the ocean and a short ferry ride away is Magnetic Island. We’ve always lived near the sea so I grew up fishing and snorkelling the Great Barrier Reef on my holidays. Townsville also has some really great restaurants. When I’m at home I love going to the Japanese restaurant Gyo, they do the best fried chicken. I definitely love going back there.
Thanks for the giveaway!
My hometown is Blacksburg SC. I do love it because it is home. I don’t know if I would like better somewhere else because I have lived in this small town all my life,
Hi! I’m Patti and I live in Park Ridge IL, where I grew up and where my children are growing up. I wouldn’t live anywhere else in the world ๐ A small town atmosphere only 15 minutes from downtown Chicago, what more could you ask for ? Well maybe a good quilt shop!
Blessings, Patti
I have lived in Tempe, AZ, for over 20 years, but ‘home-home’ will always be Dubuque, Iowa. Dorthoy of Oz says ‘There’s no place like Home’. My heart always yearns and looks forward to trips home, however, over the years I have realized how much living in different parts of the country and being exposed to new places, people, and experiences has meant to me. I think we can all find a ‘little bit of home’ no matter where our lives take us!
I live in Vermontville, Michigan a small town south west of Lansing, Michigan about 25 miles. It is know for its Maple Syrup Festival in the spring. I love Michigan with it’s beautiful colors in the fall and the Great Lakes. Thanks for the giveaway.
I grew up as an Air Force Brat so hometown is a relative term. I graduated from HS in Albuquerque, NM and that’s where my folks settled down. Love the high mountain desert, but I’ve lived in Texas for the past 30 years so this is where my family is…spread across the state mind you! Lol
I live in Albert Lea, Minnesota and enjoy living here but my heart will always call Belle Plaine, Iowa (where I grew up) home! It just feels right when I go back to visit my parents!! Thanks for sharing
My name is MaryLou, and I’ve left my heart in my hometown, San Francisco. Believe it or not, the City is quite small in area, only 49 sq. miles. And it’s small enough to still have a hometown atmosphere.
Hi Lisa!!! I am an proud Air Force wife, and we were (by the grace of God) re-stationed back in my hometown of San Antonio, TX. We live out in the country near a small town called La Vernia, and there isn’t much here. So I would say my heart is in a different place…the Dakotas. ๐ We took a 4,100 miles roadtrip up north to see the prairie, and wow…I love the prairie, and anything primitive/country/old/Laura Ingalls Wilder, etc. So you see, my heart is to have 4 seasons (we don’t get that here), to have a nice plot of land and be more like they were in the old days…working on the farm and living the simple life. ๐ Thank you for your super generous giveaway! I love the little quilt you made!!!
Hi, I’m Karen. My original hometown is in Northern California, but my new hometown is Albuquerque, New Mexico, and I like it very, very much. I like to say California is a good place to be from! Although I definitely miss the quality of the quilt shops in California. But 350 days of sunshine — who wouldn’t enjoy that! Love your little quilt. Thanks for the chance to win.
Hi, I’m Helen and currently live in Smithfield, NC. I grew up in northwest Missouri and feel like that is “home”. With my husband’s transfers and new jobs, we’ve been in NC for 16 years so this is “home” to my sons. My husband took a new job in St. Louis so will now be moving back “home” to be with him after 6 years of being separated because of job situations and company bankruptcies. I love your quilt….my mother used to make stuffed sheep that looked like your applique. Brought back fond memories! Thanks!!
HI!! I was born in a house on the hill in the little village of Galena, Ohio fifty some years ago. I now live just a couple of miles from that house, still near that little village and near the greater part of my paternal family and I love where I live! Thanks for sharing your story and for the chance for some great Moda candy!!
Hi, although I have lived in Lansing, Michigan for 40 years, I still feel that my hometown is where I grew up in Grand Rapids. My parents and siblings still all live there and “home” is where my heart is. Thanks for a chance to win!
I love living in West Jordan, UT. It’s a suburb of SLC and rural enough for my likings. One of the best features is the historic Gardner Village with all it’s cute little shops. Archibald Gardner was commissioned by Brigham Young to build a flour mill at the south end of SLC. Probably 25 or 30 years ago, the owners relocated small cabins to the site and converted them into little shops. Of course, my favorite is Pine Needles, the cutest and most inviting quilt store this side of the Rockies. I absolutely love Primitive Gatherings fabric and patterns. Thanks for sponsoring the great fabric giveaway – one can never have enough Primitive Gatherings!
I live in El Cajon Ca where we are 15 minutes from downtown San Diego. I love it here but I still miss living in Denver Colorado where I was born and lived until I was 30.
Hi – I’m Mary A and my hometown is Houston, TX. Have lived here almost always in one part of the city or another! I would really like to live in the Texas Hill Country though …. So pretty and quiet!!
Hi, my name is Jayne and I live in Keller, TX, a northern suburb of Fort Worth. I love living here, we have lived here for 28 years. It is the perfect mix of “country” and big city. Thanks for the chance to win.
I will always call my hometown the town where I grew up, a very small town in ND—Powers Lake. I have lived in many other places but never call them my hometown. I love all your patterns and fabric designs!! Thanks for the chance to win!!
I live in a rural area in Woodson County, Ks and I do NOT feel like this is my hometown, even though I have lived here for 28 years. I would really like to live in the town where my grandchildren live.
My home is in Burlingame, CA and I miss it, even though I’ve lived 400 miles south for the last 36 years!!! I teach 5th grade in Southern CA and I want to thank you for the chance to win something from your fabulous shop ๐
I am from Oz, but my town is not really my hometown. I don’t really have one, we moved lots when I was a kid. So which town is really incidental so long as it has great weather, and is quiet. Lovely prizes.
I live in rural Ames, Ia. this is home. I lived in Loveland, Co. at the foothills of the mountains-my favorite place that I have lived. Have a cabin in northern Mn. on Leech Lake -love the lake. Can’t wait to see you at the Des Moines AQS show!!! Thanks for the cute freebie pattern and giveaway.
I live in a nice quiet place now, but my heart is back where I grew up near Hailstorm Creek. But it would have to be the H.C. from the 1800’s, not now, that I would like to go back to…..
Honolulu, HI. I haven’t been back to my hometown in 20 years. I miss it so. The easiness. The beautiful weather and the good food. I have to find a way to get back soon.
I live in Lino Lakes, MN. I am just north and east of the 2 towns I grew up in. But my favorite place is living in the heart of the city in St. Paul. I love old houses and living by the Mighty Mississippi.
I live in San Diego. At first I didn’t really like it here, but it has grown on me over the years. I love the beautiful weather and all the beaches I can choose from
Hi Lisa,
I’m Karen M from Omaha, NE. I’ve been here my entire life (almost 50 years:-). We have some awesome quilt shops here. The College World Series is here and we have great places to eat. I have to admit I’m one of the women who traveled to Wisconsin just to see your shop and take a class. One day was not enough time to spend at the shop. It’s the best. Love your cute pattern with the sheep. Thanks! Karen M
I think the little quilt is adorable. I have lived in Idaho all my 50+ years and I love it. We have lived in several towns which all became “Home”. We have a special place now which God has blessed us with ..I never thought I would live in such sweet surroundings near Notus, Id. 29 years married to a good man also makes home where we are with our two special dogs. The only place I long for more is heaven itself!! Thanks for P.G. I love shopping it-what a creation.
Susan J from Omaha NE-born here, and will stay here, love the changing seasons, although this summer was trying, this evening cool and w/ a nice breeze is lovely. Thanks for the chance to win!
I live in Ketchikan in SE Alaska and have for over 30 years but my heart is in SW Washington. Ketchikan is know as the salmon capital of the world. We get over 150 inches of rain each year.
Hi, I’m Caroline and live in Royal City, WA. We’ve lived here almost 4 years and I’m trying to “make” it my hometown since we plan on being here a while:) My hubby grew up here and now farms here, but I grew up in the city and am still trying to fit into this “small” town.
Hello! I live in Vestavia Hills, AL (right outside of Birmingham). I have lived here my whole life, but will be moving to Mobile early 2013. While I am sad to leave my family and friends, I am excited to begin my new life at the coast!
I’ve only live in Davis, CA for 11 years but I love it better than any other place I’ve lived. Home is where you feel good. I love your answer–so different than all the other bloggers! But that’s one of the reasons I like you so much–you’re not a cooky-cutter quilter–LOL!
I live in Lake Stevens, Washington. We have lived here for about 23 years and we do like it here. We love having the lake, Puget Sound and mountains all around us. The area has grown quite a bit and I sometimes I would like to move to a smaller place but our kids and grandkids are nearby so I guess we will stay put. Thanks for sharing your Old Glory Gatherings design.
Hello, Lisa.
My “hometown” is Merced, CA–Gateway to Yosemite National Park. I’m originally from St. Louis, MO. This part of California suits me better…the weather is more pleasant. The town is surrounded by almond orchards but the farms grow so many fruits, nuts and vegetables that the local farmer’s market is a great stop on a Saturday.
Love the project you made for the blog hop! Thank you for the opportunity to win some of the Primitive Gatherings fabrics.
I am Martina and live in Switzerland in Basel since 11 years and I love this place. It has like small town charakter but all the facilities of a city. Still it remains small and cozy. But before that I lived nearly 8 years in Istanbul in Turkey which was absolutely the opposite with 15 Million people and very crowded. But I really miss this place too. Especially the streetmarkets. But most of all the people I got to know and love. So I think you are home there, where you can connect with the people around and just feel at home. If this is a place with 15 Millons or just 200’000 people,it does’t matter. Thanks so much for sharing and just love the little project!
I live in Vinton Iowa and it is a swell little town. I grew up in the country about an hour from here and wouldn’t mind being out in the country again someday.
I live in Anchorage, Alaska and considering that I have lived here over 20 years it is home. It is the longest I have ever lived anywhere. I am an AF brat and a Navy wife, so for most of my life home was where ever I hung my hat so to speak. We settled here when my youngest was 3 turning 4 and it is home to us now.
Hi Lisa! I live in a small village near Delft in the Netherlands, but I’ve always been happy to live so near Delft and all of it’s history. There’s so much to see and do there and we always go by bicycle. So I guess I feel more related to Delft than to any other town I’ve ever lived.
Love your pattern for this blogtour! Of course, I love your fabric too!
Good luck on choosing winners!
Greetings from the Netherlands!
Hello, I’m Carla and I live in Prince George, BC, Canada. I was born & raised here. Some days I love it and some days I’m ready to move… But I do love being close to the beautiful mountains. Thanks for a chance to win your wonderful giveaway! ๐
Love that little sheep in the middle! I live in ร small town near Valkenburg in the Netherlands . It is not my home town and I only lived here for three years now but it does feel like home to me. We have lived in lots of places but this is the most like home
Hi, Lisa. I’m Lori Neisler and I’m the gal who got you a hotel room at Country Inn & Suites last year in Paducah so you didn’t have to drive 45 min. to Paducah ever again. My quilting buddy and I always stop at your booth first thing when we arrive in Paducah, and then stop every day we’re there. We probably set a record for the best Primitive Gatherings stashes. I love everything you create from quilt designs, wool projects, needlepunch, and fabric designs. I live in a very small town in El Paso, IL though our address is Gridley. What I like best in our town is we’re surrounded by corn fields which help support my quilting and handwork passion. I’d love to have one of your kits because it combines patriotism and country, which I love.
Hi, I live in Shelby, NC and yes I love my town, but I have never lived anywhere else, I still live in the same apts. except a different one, that I grew up in, we have the Best BBQ, and Livermush, made in this county, If you have never tried Livermush you should, its a breakfast food, or we make sandwiches out of it and we even have a Livermush festaville each year…..we also Host the World Series of Little League Baseball game….beautiful in the fall also when the leaves change colors…..
Hi. I live in my hometown of Minlaton, South Australia, Australia. I moved away for 15 years, then settled back here with my family 3 years ago. Minlaton is a small country town known as the “barley capital of the world”, named for the high yielding barley crops on surrounding farms.
I live Sterling Heights, Michigan but you’re right my heart is at our cottage up north. I love being on the water, curling up next to the fire and just relaxing. Thanks for the chance.
Hello this is Jenny I live in Australia in a little country town in the state of Victoria , this isn’t we’re I grew up I grew up in an outer suburb of Melbourne, the Capital of Victoria. I have taken on Allansford as my home town, I don’t want to return to the hussle and bustle of the city but a quite town.
Hi Lisa and Gang – I’m Susie and my current hometown is Lakewood, OH. Lakewood is a suburb of Cleveland which means you have both “big city” life with a small town atmosphere – the best of both. And being next to Lake Erie is the icing on the cake. Haven’t had the opportunity to visit your shop, but did see you at Chicago and now Cincinnati – love your stuff!
Hi and good morning from Pentwater Michigan- along the shores of Lake Michigan. I love love love this little village. I am from Grand Rapids Michigan but i live here 7 months of the year and return every 2 weeks during the winter. The colors are beautiful in this fabric selection. Thank you!!! Fingers crossed. Pam
Hi, waving at you from the sandy shores of Lake Michigan, in Muskegon. Favorite place in my hometown is that large lake between us. It is the destination year around for many of us. Tho the ice fisherman like the inland lakes in the winter time when they are frozen over thick with ice.
P.S. Do I love my hometown? Of course! I grew up in LeRoy, IL which is identical to El Paso, only 45 minutes away. It’s the same town only the names and faces are changed. One thing I love about LeRoy is the circle park with an old time bandstand, lots of memories driving around that circle park downtown as a teenager. The park even has a statue of an Indian chief donated by my great-grandfather many years ago. So, guess my heart is still in LeRoy because of family roots, though I’ve lived in El Paso 43 years.
Hi, I’m Cathy Victor, I live in Rusagonis, New Brunswick , Canada and I love being here I am only minutes away from my mom who is my quilting buddy. It is so nice being close to family!!!
Hi Lisa: I’m originally from Iowa, but have lived in Overland Park, KS for 17 years and do feel like this is home. It’s a friendly town, I love our church so much I work there, and we have tons of great primitive shows and a few wonderful quilt and wool stores in the area! In fact, I met you at one of those. Thanks for the giveaway and hope you keep breaking records at your upcoming shows! ~Roberta
I love your pattern, so cute! My hometown is Nottingham, England. I suppose I do love it, but my heart remains in Warsaw, Poland where I was lucky enough to live for 2 years.
Hi Lisa! I’m originally from Philadelphia, then Boston, New Jersey and now have been living in Cary North Carolina for 11 years. I love N.C. but this town has been so built up over the past few years that it feels more like a city now. I met you at the quilt show in Raleigh this summer. I must say seeing your work up close and personal was one of the highlights of my year! So beautiful! -Lori
I live in a small town in Northern California, but grew up in Minnesota which I still consider “home”.Thanks for the giveaway and the cute pattern idea.
Hello from Adelaide, South Australia. I have lived here for 26 years now, nice city and the longest I have ever been in one place….. but home is still Africa, where I grew up. Cannot work it out.
Hi! My name is Linda and I live in Bakersfield, CA – born and raised. I would love to live some place else where the summers are cooler and receives more rain but my husband won’t budge. He is also a Bakersfield native. Thanks for the opportunity to enter your wonderful giveaway!
My hometown is little Copperas Cove, TX. It neighbors Ft. Hood-the largest (and best!) army base in the country. I’d say that is what we are best known for. My heart is in the New England area where I would move to if I had the chance to go anywhere.
Hi – My name is Grace. I was born in Brooklyn, New York, but I have spent most of my life living out on Long Island. I live on the north shore, in Saint James. Long Island is a beautiful place – we have beautiful beaches, great malls and, on the east end, we have fantastic farmstands and wineries. And, of course, lets not forget Montauk Point.
such a sweet little project! Thank you. Yes we love MODA! I live in Oskaloosa Iowa . We always think of the place we grew up as our hometown. That would be a very small town two hours away from where i live now. No matter where you live “HOME ” is always the best place in town.
I had to think hard on this one, but it’s because I’ve lived in so many wonderful places. I was born and raised in Fort Worth. I have also lived in Waco, Lubbock, Dallas, Tulsa, Houston, Denver, Scottsdale and now in San Antonio……I have to admit that I’ve left a little piece of my heart in every one of those cities. I guess I’m just a girl from all those cities and to the next city where I land. Sandra
Thought you’d be interested in a book I came across in a 2009 magazine. Wisconsin Quilts History in the Stitches by Ellen Kort….1848 until present…by Krause Publications, http://www.krausebooks.com
Looks like a potential block of the month from your home to all of ours….
Born in Texas and currently making our home in West Virginia. I have lived in LA, GA, PA, AR…home is more about family than location to me.
LOVE< LOVE< LOVE PG!
Well, by the looks of things ( 500 plus posts already!) Your site might be the best of the Hop! At lease I think so! I’m new to quilting and I’ve attended one quilt show in Long Beach California…that’s were I “met you” your booth and your wonderful line of wool! I had not cut one bit of fabric or made anything but I bought one of your books, Summer Gatherings, love it! My home town is Oxnard California, I was born here and looks like I’ll be here forever and that’s fine with me! Love all that you do! Thanks for the change to win!
I live in Casper, Wyoming – and love it. I raised my children here and they have an appreciation for wildlife. The winters can be quite cold but beautiful. This is home to me. Louise
Hi Lisa, I love wool and love all of your creations. And I’ve made a few, including block of the months and this year for the first time – The Block of the Month. I live in St. Charles, IL which is right on the Fox River. I’ve lived several places, but really enjoy this small town – not too far from the big city of Chicago.
My heart is in another town as well! We married and moved to Kelowna, BC but I always loved my previous town – and when we go back that way, I miss it even more.
Thanks for a chance at the giveaway. I love your touches of wool.
Love the wool and the primative designs. I live in Daytona Beach, FL want to do more wool things, It is hot here a lot of the year. New to quilting… still pretty much a wannabe..I love all things fiber… and belong to a little fiber arts guild, we meet each month and the vibe is so good, just live to go… we bring things to show and share, The skill levels are amazing .. we have quilters .. I admire their work.
I hope I win your stash.. I would use it to make my first quilt.
Thanks for your blog today… insiteful…. and inciteful… LOL
P.S. I must add, I am from Winfield, West Virginia originally. And we have a wonderful quilt happening…there, it may be famous, even… Cabin Creek Quilts. it is a way quilting has been able to stay alive in WV and elsewhere, and a way for quilters of the region to make money, their quilts have sold worldwide. They display and have a contest annually at the WV Cultural Center, Charleston, WV. The movement started in the late ’60’s and Sharon Rockefeller and APPLERED ( Applachain Regional Development Agency) were the prime motivators at that time. My heart is a hillbilly.
How great that your shop is the best thing in town!! I am a Cajun girl who now lives in NW Alabama in the area known as “The Shoals.” While I miss the good seafood and family back home, I love it here in Alabama! The scenery is beautiful and we have so many choices when it comes to shopping, etc. We originally lived in the largest city in this area but moved to a small community at the start of this year to be closer to our grandson. It’s a longer drive to work, but so worth it!
My name is Sandi and I live in Henderson, MN. It’s not the town I grew up in but I love living here. We came here after living 33 years in a Minneapolis suburb. When I first visited Henderson, I was amazed at how much it reminded me of my hometown of Lehigh, Iowa. We were looking to move to the country so I told my husband he had to come and see what I had found. In just a few weeks we bought a lot out here and a few years later built our house. My heart is here most often but also often in my hometown of Lehigh where my mother and brother still live. I love it that I can enjoy times in both places. ๐
Hello…. my name is Danelle and I live in Livermore, CA. It’s great!! We have an annual Rodeo, which is a blast for all. The downtown was just updated and it is so much fun. Nice places to eat and even a fantastic quilt store which I can’t seem to stay out of. Weather can’t be beat either!!
My name is Marsha and I live in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho and I’ve lived here for 32 years, so it is my hometown. I love living here, for 6 months of the year, during the winter I wish I was somewhere warmer by the ocean. Thanks for the giveaway
My name is Diane and I live in New Hope, Minnesota just outside of Minneapolis but my heart lives in Vermont where I grew up. I am going there soon to visit my sisters! Yea!!
Hi, My name is Colleen and I live in Draper, UT which is on the outskirts of Salt Lake City. I’m like you. I’ve lived here for 20 yrs now but I still feel that my real hometown is Huntington Beach, Calif. Draper is a very nice place to live, but when you’ve lived most of your life by the beach, well it’s hard to let that go.
I moved to Bluffdale, UT last year, 12 min (exactly) from my old home in Draper. Kicking and screaming the whole way, crying every night, even sometimes now. Even though I am so close I don’t see my friends on a daily basis, and I am trying to integrate into my new neighborhood, making new friends, helping the kids make friends. After a year, I just brought out my sewing machine – I lost my sewing room when we moved. That’s another reason for my mourning! But having a house and a happy family is what’s most important!
I live in Manchester, NH – only been here about 25 years so I’m a newbie. The Merrimack River runs through Manchester and I live on the west side of the river. The area I live in was, until fairly recently, primarily French Canadian. We used to joke that we were the token non-French people, weren’t related to anyone on the West Side and didn’t go to school with anyone. Most of my quilting friends grew up in the neighborhood, married local fellows and still live here. They can trace their families back to France and their Manchester roots back to their Canadian ancestors coming to work for the Amoskeag Manufacturing Company, which designed the City. My family moved a lot when I was a kid because of my Dad’s job (he built roads), so Manchester is my home – where I’ve lived the longest.
Wow!!! 704 comments already — guess this is a popular blog hop. I live in Lansing and I enjoy being close to the capitol of Michigan, as well as “in the neighborhood” of Michigan State University. I like the midwest weather changes — and we are getting ready gor the colors of fall. I’ve lived in this area most of my life and have family living close. Thanks for your project!
My name is Joyce, I am a mother of three married sons and have seven grandchildren. I was lucky enough to be a stay-at-home mom until my youngest went to kdg. and I went back to teaching. My home town is in the Lake Geneva area which we share with most of Illinois during the summer. We moved four times as my husband was also a teacher/coach and he took different jobs. Our final move brought us to Edgerton,WI. We are only 35 miles away from our original home but don’t get there often.
Edgerton was a bedroom community for me as I kept my job and commuted for 23 yrs. I didn’t get to know people other than at the football games. My boys talked about friends that I didn’t have a clue who they were.
Needless to say I was not a happy camper. Luckily someone asked if I would be interested in helping on the
Relay for Life Commitee. That experience changed my life around. I not only met new friends but the best was a group of quilters. I never had quilted before but really had a lot of fun learning.(still do) It took a long time to feel “at home”here but I do and now I enjoy my home because it feels like home. My two dogs are rooting for me and want yours to know they will help with the project if I am lucky enough to be a winner!
I live in Green Bay and I concur that the best part of Menasha is Primitive Gatherings!! I love to visit there. I love your little project. Please tell Moda to hurry up and get Old Glory on the shelves.
My name is Jeanne and I live in Michigan .We have family in Wisconsin, not far from Menasha, . On my next trip to visit them, I’m planning on stopping at Primitive Gatherings. I met you in Grand Rapids and you kindly allowed my to take a photo and post it on my blog. ๐ Thank you for your project and the opportunity to win fabric.
I’m Donna from Texas and I live in Houston, home to the wonderful Houston Quilt Festival !!
My hometown is Memphis, TN (home of Elvis and the blues !) but I’ve been in Texas so long, I’m truly a Texas girl now ! Would love to see Wisconsin someday. Thanks for the chance to win !
My name is Martha and I live in Oklahoma City. I was born and grew up in a mennonite community in Belize Central America. I don’t really miss it much, since I was a teenager when we moved away. I still feel like Belize is my home country, but am happy I’m not living in a 3rd world country. I’m proud of the many beauties of Belize, and love Belizean food (more or as much as the German mennonite food I grew up on–since I lived another 5 years in Belize outside of the mennonite community), but I’m happy to live in Oklahoma City, where I have lived for the past 12 years. My passion for quilting is definitely from my Mennonite heritage. I’m not passionate about this hometown of mine, but more so for my family, my church family and my quilting. Thank you for this chance to win some fabrics.
Though I’ve lived in ND, MN, and now WI – I’d have to say that home really is where the heart is. I’ve been happiest here in Eau Claire WI. I think it’s in large part to my sweet husband of 7 years. Thank you for such a beautiful giveaway. . . .Luke and Jake did a great job helping out in Madison!
Hi my name is Sandy and I live in Western Iowa in the Loess Hills. The soil came from wind-deposited loess soil and extends from Missouri along the western-most part of Iowa following the Missouri River. The history of loess soil is very interesting to read about, I think. The small town I live in is the County seat of Harrison County and we have about 1500 residents. Thank you for the chance to win one of your give aways.
I live in Hutchinson, Kansas. I love your fabric and I receive your newsletter. We are the home of the Kansas State Fair which is going on now. We also are home to the NJCAA National Basketball Tournament. I love my hometown but would like to be living in Mesa, Az where my grandchildren live. Thanks
My name is Anita and I live in Edmonton, AB Canada which I consider to be my home town. (I live just outside the city actually on a military base but I used to live right in the city.) I have lived in Vancouver BC, Calgary AB, Oromocto NB and a couple of small Alberta towns. I have actually moved more with my Mom’s job growing up than with my military husband. But Edmonton is where my heart is. I love the project. The sheep is adorable. Thank you!
I am a quilter from Western New York, and have not lived in my hometown of Middleport since high school. I try to drive through a couple times a year to visit a friend there.
I live near the small town of Howell, Michigan. It is a pretty area with many small inland lakes and of course we
are not far from many of the Great Lakes. We have lived here a long time, but I think our hearts are still in Iowa
where we were born.
Hi LB, my name is Patti J. I live in Homer, Michigan. I took over the family farm from my parents and live in the same house I grew up in, which is not always a good thing. I took up quilt making when I received a quilt for a wedding gift 18 years ago. I have then turn my BFF into a quilter. Actually she is a longarm quilter. ๐ And now she is teaching her sister to quilt. I feel like a Grandma passing on the tradition. lol I am not a huge red, white and blue fan….however, I love me some Old Glory Gatherings. I have already made a Schhibble using charm packs and it’s one of my favorites. And I look forward to making the project offered on your blog. Thanks for the giveaway. p
I live in the beautiful NE corner of Iowa. Loved your booth at the Madison Expo and can’t wait for the AQS in Des Moines. Hope someday soon to visit your shop.
I live in Corralitos, Ca. I love where I live out in the country but 20 minutes away from the ocean!! We live in a beautiful place!! I hope someday to visit Primitive Gatherings.I love your style & quilts!!
Thanks, Colette
Hi Lisa, I live in a little town called Monson, MA. We were originally about 8,000 people until we experienced a very desistating tornado last year. It was amazing how our little town “pulled-together” and helped each other out!!!! Made me very proud to be live in our town and have our children grow-up here ๐
I was raised in Chinook WA a little town in the southwest corner of the state right at the mouth of the mighty Columbia River. Nearly 40 years ago I moved to the Portland OR area and currently live jusrt across the Columbia River from Portland in Vancouver WA. I love this area, Yes, we get a lot of rain but that makes everything nice and green. it’s rarely super-hot and we get little, if any, snow. We’re a couple hours from the ocean beaches, an hour or two from Mt. Hood for snow sports and a couple hours from high desert country. I can’t imagine living anywhere else! I’ve visited your shop and loved it!
I love the iron stars and I’ve got one too! I’m Kd from NW Montana outside of Glacier National Park and I love living here. I really can’t think of anywhere else my heart would be. Lots of great wildlife and wonderful scenery! Thanks for asking and for the great giveaway. ๐
My name is Ginger. I grew up in Las Cruces, NM. Now, we live in Roswell, NM. I have lived in Roswell for 35 years and it still doesn’t feel like a “hometown” to me. But Las Cruces is not home either. Roswell is however, famous for a 1947 incident involving a “flying saucer” and the US Air Force cover-up of the “incident”. It has been fun over the past 15 years to learn all about the people who were involved and the specifics of the “incident.” Information about the flying saucer crash/the aliens/and the cover-up were all kept secret for 50 years until 1997. Many little “industries” have begun based on this story. One that I have enjoyed has been the fabrics and patterns that have been created based on the “aliens” and “flying-saucer”..I don’t know what really happened, but some of the people who were involved were very credible and honest people. Fifty years of silence created a great bit of mystery. So. that’s the story of the town where I live. I do love Moda fabrics and think they are great! I Love the Primitive Gatherings fabrics very much! And would love to win one of the prizes! Thanks so much for the project–9-patch and wool is a wonderful combination!
I live in Elmira, NY and as beautiful as this area is, I still have a special place in my heart for my hometown Allentown, PA and my pennsylvania dutch heritage. I love your combination of wool and fabric in your candy pattern. Thanks for making it available!
I live in the country outside of a town called Oak Grove. I hope to never to leave the country as I love nature, and it is so peaceful. I was born in Independence, Missouri (President Harry Truman’s town) and it was a great town to grow up in. Someday I am going to make one of your wool quilts, as they are beautiful. Thank You!
Hi, My name is Kim. I am south of you a little ways. I grew up in Campbellsport, WI. It is about 30 miles south of Fond du Lac. My husband and I have a small dairy farm just 5 miles south of Campbellsport. I have never been to your store. I am going to have to look it up, because I love your fabric lines and your ideas. Sounds like a good idea to take a road trip north to Primitive Gatherings this winter.
I’m Linda and I live in a small community near Athens, GA…home of the University of Georgia, but I was born near Newton, Iowa and my favorite place I’ve lived is Ames, Iowa. I love the winter in Georgia and after 25 years, I’m used to living here but my heart is in Iowa. I’ll be in Des Moines for the first day of AQS show so I’ll check out your booth. Then when I get back to Georgia I’ll see you at the Georgia Quilt Show where I can buy and not have to ship! Hope you’ll be in the booth at one of those shows.
Born and raised on the outskirts pf the Illinois city of Rockford. Currently

I’m Bonnie and live in Fitzwilliam New Hamsphire for about 20 years. I was born in Conn and when I got married we moved to LA and stayed there for 10 yrs where my 3 children were born. We didn’t want to raise them there and did’t want to go back to CT so we moved to New Hamsphire and love it!! I love your projects and fabric. Thank you for the little project..you never disappoint.
I’m Judy and I live in Gaylord, MI. I’m a Michigan gal and have lived in this state almost all my life. We lived in Florida for 2 years and I couldn’t wait to get back to Michigan and Gaylord. You have beautiful fabric and patterns. I work in a quilt shop and women are always asking for your fabric.
I live in Columbia, MD and I do like it. We have small town and big city going on. But my heart will always be in Youngstown, Ohio (my hometown). I get back as often as I can.
I’m Gretchen and I live in Stone Mountain, GA, which is 20 miles east of Atlanta. The best thing about here is my house. I just love my 1912 bungalow. My heart is somewhere I haven’t lived yet. Is that possible? I’ve lived half my life in Michigan and half in Georgia but would like to be somewhere else.
I live in Redwood City, CA and I love it here! I’ve lived here about 10 years. I was born in San Francisco and have been slowly moving south ever since. This has been my favorite town. Thanks for the chance!
I’m Barb and I have lived in Racine WI all my life. Now that I’m going to be a Grandma it’s been requested that we move to Minneapolis MN. It doesn’t sound like too bad of an idea. Just might be fun.
My hometown is Independence, Mo…Harry Truman’s hometown. I cannot say I love Independence as a place to live now but it was a good place to grow up. I live in Maryville, Tn. now and I have to say this place I love! Thanks for the chance to win great stuff!
I live in the country on a farm that has been in my family for 108 years. This is HOME. We have rolling hills, whitetails, turkeys, coyotes, eagles and more. The seasons are beautiful and inspire all kinds of quilting ideas.
If I could send Jeter and Presley a little Eau de sirloin I would. Alas! It doesn’t send! Keep up the inspiring work, Lisa!
I am an army wife. We have a motto, “Home is where the Army sends us.” Home is currently in Honolulu, HI, but my heart aches to be back in the Cincinnati Tri-state Area. There are things I love about each place we go, but to me none of them compare to Cincinnati, Ohio. Thanks for the chance to win some fabulous patriotic print fabric.
My hometown in NV only exists because it is on Hwy 395 between Reno and Vegas. It used to be better tho. I’m in beautiful WA now , but my heart is some place else. I still haven’t worked with wool (except to knit), but did recently buy a little bundle and I just might use it on your project. Cute. Thanks.
We live in Chiba, Japan. We moved here at the beginning of May and are here for 3 years for my husband’s work. We love it here and are thoroughly enjoying ourselves, but yes, my heart hometown will always be back in Adelaide, Australia where my family and friends are. It’s especially hard at times as we found out only weeks after moving here that my sister is due next February – our first niece/nephew! I am so grateful that I’ll be able to go back soon after the baby is born, but it’s so hard not being there to help her through pregnancy and in those hard first few weeks/months after birth ๐
I am Katie and I live in Monroe, CT. I love living in New England (my husband and I both grew up in CT)–I love the changing seasons and our proximity to both the mountains and the ocean.
My name is Jude. Some people know me as Rock Climbin’ Jude- which is my other passion. I am currently living in Gilbert, AZ so that I can help care for my 2 grandsons. However my heart is in Mead, WA. I love the 4 seasons and Eastern Washington has it all! I recently picked up your pattern, “45 and life to go” as well as th Seasonal Gatherings FQ set at a charming little shop in Salt lake City- midway between my 2 homes! Can’t wait to get started! Thanks for the chance to win!
My hometown is Douglas, WY were you can be in hurricane wind and not get wet…..local joke is if you don’t like the weather just wait 5 min. and it will change. It is a nice little town sits down in a bowl with the North Platte river running thru it…. how can you not love a river town.
My current hometown is a small community Holly Lake Ranch 45 minutes north of Tyler, Texas. However, my heart is really in my previous hometown of McKinney, Texas where my granddaughters and grandson are. That’s where my family is………. I really loved your summer block of the week this year.
I live in a place called Cedar grove in Australia. I love here because it is a semi-rural area where we have a bit more room to move than in the city. Thanks for the chance to win your prize.
I’m Linda from the N Georgia mountains, this isn’t my home town, but I do love it here. My heart however, is where ever my daughter and grandgirls are. I would sooooo love to win this kit – my home is decorated in Americana and it would fit me to a T!! We have a lake here but I don’t live right on it. Thank you, Lisa.
My name is Anita from Brentwood, California, i absolutely love my hometown! Wouldn’t want to live anywhere else ๐ Thanks for the giveaway and pattern!
My name is Paulette and I live in a little town called Cobble Hill just a short hop from Victoria, BC! I love it here…gorgeous ocean and temperate climate and lots of trails for hiking!! We could use a Primitive Gatherings here but aside from that…it’s pretty near perfect!! :o)
Thanks for the lovely Give Away!
Paulette
I wonder if you have read all these comments !!!! They all made me think of all the places we have lived— my hubby spend his career with the national park service– so we moved alot and every place became our new home town !! So we have alot of them . I live now in Gatlinburg , TN — everyone loves this town !! Over ten million visitors every year just to the smokies nat’l park ——– but i first discovered you when your shop was picked as one of the best in the Quilt Sampler magazine—– by then i was doing primitives and had my own shop — i have always been a stitcher and quilter and just love fabrics . But most of all I love your shop and all you do—– I think I must have every pattern you have !!! I cannot wait to see you when you visit the northern va area in oct and to meet you ! ANd i agree—- the best thing in your home town has to be your shop !! I love moda fabric — and have more than I will ever use !! Thanks so much for all your blogging and getting us inspired like you do —–
My name is Sharon and I live in Tampa, Florida. We moved here from Rochester, NY, when I was 7yo. I love it here and never any snow to shovel. I don’t care for that white stuff. lol It is warm most of the year, but a little cooler would be nice right now. Love you project and your fabric.S
My hometown is Poughkeepsie, NY. an hour or so north of NY City along the Hudson River. Beautiful and rich in history, you will find a Vanderbilt Mansion, CIA (Culinary Institute), FDR Presidential Library and Vassar College, to name a few. Lush and green in the summer, it’s breath-taking in the fall with intense reds, golds and oranges!
I love the cute new fabrics and love your design. I live in Franklin WI but my heart is at my cabin in Warrens WI. Being there is so relaxing and inspiring. The area is so pretty in all the seasons.
Hi my name is Ann and I live in Potosi, WI. I just moved back here after being away for 39 years so there must be something that I love about it. It is great that I am that much closer to Primitive Gatherings.
My name is Sue, and I live in a little town called Evans City in PA. Aside from being in a beautiful rural area, the best thing about my hometown is that it’s within driving distance to many quilt stores. It’s all about location, location, location ๐ This makes for some great day-trips, workshops, and even better weekend retreats for my quilting friends and myself. Moda fabric is one of my favorites…just finished designing and making a quilt from the Sentiments line by 3 Sisters for Moda. Turned out beautiful!
hello, my name is christine I live in a small village called Labbas, near Clermont Ferrand, in the midst of volcanoes, it’s beautiful. I like what you Lisa, I am for a while, through the blog, and I like it a lot (especially the fabric with small sheep that I seek in France and I do not, too bad! !) Kisses of Auvergne or it rains, but it is still beautiful! (Yes, yes, yes, I have pictures!)
My name is Aurora and I live in Deventer in the Netherlands, I grew up on a farm in the north of the country. I have lived in many places and in different countries and luckily I can feel at home in many places. i would love a chance to win one of the lovely prices from Moda.
Greetings From Downunder!
Yes!..that means I am in my Hometown in Australia, down south actually………. Who am I?…..love to stitch, love to patch, love to quilt and love to use wool in my projects.
I am about to start “Wool Flower Pennies” from your “Summer Gatherings” book.
Also love to dig in my garden and grow stuff!……….. and knit the occasional jumper.
Do I love my Hometown????………of course!….lots of gardens, great shopping, not bad weather and good friends!…what more could a person want??……………Oh! I know………would love to win this give-away!
Lisa, Just got home from the Madison show. Did some shop hopping afterwards which took us to shops in WI and IA. Visited your booth, like always, and it was awesome, like always. I live in MN but my hometown is in KY and I will always consider KY my “home”. Like they say “there’s no place like home”. Thanks Lisa for all you do to make us quilters happy. Pat
After 20 years of following my husband around, we decided to plant our family in Wisconsin… And after being a fan of Primitive Gatherings, I am so happy to have your shop so close for all those frantic ‘gotta quilt’ moments!!!!
My hometown in Bountiful Utah, I remember sitting on the curb waiting for the ice cream man, playing kick the can with the whole neighborhood, running through the sprinklers…the good ole days!
I have lived in the same town most of my life. It’s a small town, quiet and what makes it great are my kids and grandbaby also live here to. Many special friends also live here. My home town is Corning, Iowa.
I live in Strasburg, Pennsylvania, which is in Lancaster County, otherwise known as Amish Country. I am originally from Long Island, NY, but have been here for 20 years. I love it here, though I do miss the food in New York (especially pizza!). Despite the fact that many of the Amish quilt and the area is known for Amish quilts, there are not an abundance of quilt shops here.
My name is Pat. I live in Hollis, NH about an hour north of Boston. It is a nice place to live: 1 hour to either Boston, the ocean or the mountains. But my heart really is where my children and grandbabies are: PA, IN and TX.
Hi Lisa – I’m Lynn from Madison, Wis. I was born in Appleton but have lived in Madison for most of my life and just love it – love Wisconsin. Been to your shop many, many times and am thankful that it is an easy drive for me. Thanks for all your creativity and ya, I saw you at your booth at Expo. Looking forward to your lecture next year.
My heart belongs to Tjรถme, a small island off the coast of Norway. Lots of salty water, winds coming from everywhere, mountains nearby and it’s where I grew up – my parents still live there. And then I ended up on the plains right in the middle of Sweden – not a salty drop to be seen, just farms everywhere and not even the tiniest of mountains on the horizon… Needless to say, I wouldn’t have lived here if it weren’t for my husband! ๐
I’m Lil from Luxemburg in Europe, I live in a tiny town in this tiny country and will always be my home but sometimes I have to break out and discover the world, I need that
I have already been in wisconsin, but not that far up north where you live, hopefully next time
I am from a small town in southwest kanas and really enjoy this blog hop It has been fun to see all the places around. I love all of your patterns and fabrics.
I’m Diane from rural Tiffin, Iowa, a small town just outside of Iowa City. It’s my husband’s hometown where we enjoy raising three children. I used to travel some with my husband on business trips and always focused my time on checking out quilt shops along the way. I found my way to Primitive Gatherings once and brought home quite a collection! Although I haven’t managed to get back to the store, I did share my love of your products, especially your fabric lines with friends. Believe it or not one of them is more addicted than I! She once told me she needed to stop visiting the website because she’d been ordering too often and her husband was noticing all of the packages in the mail. I believed her last fall when she was at the quilt show in Des Moines at your booth paying for her items and she received a call from Primitive Gatherings called from Wisconsin about another order!!! The kids are young and keep me too busy now, but eventually my friends and I will get back there. In the meantime, looking forward to seeing you again soon in Des Moines.
I live in Cedar Rapids Iowa now. My husband and I are both from the West Coast, but less that a week after our wedding 30 years ago, we moved to Madison Wisconsin, we are midwesterners to the core!
Hi, I’m Lisa from Mountain View, CA. I love where I live. Lots of interesting things to do, great food, and the most perfect weather in the world. Thanks for the great giveaway.
My home town is Marion, Ohio and I now live in the South. But I lived in the Bay area for twenty years and my heart belongs to San Francisco. Thanks for the chance to win some of your awesome fabric!
I moved to ketchikan, AK in 2003. i am California born and raised and love the sun. It rains here ALOT! I must say my heart is here, it is beautiful and when the sun does finally shine it is amazingly beautiful! Thank you for your giveaway…eat lots of wild caught salmon!
I live in Maryland and we had a stinky lake summer too – I can sympathize. I think I only swam 3 times this year. I am not from here, and while I love it, to me Canada will always be “home”.
I live in St. Louisville, OH. I don’t consider it my hometown, I’ve only been here a year and I love it already. It’s still not quite the same as home though.
I live in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada and yes, I do love this city, province, and country. I grew up on a Saskatchewan grain farm and had what I believe to be an ideal childhood before I moved to the big city (maybe not so big at the time but it’s rapidly getting bigger now). My heart and my family is all right here, though honestly, I could do with a little less winter.
I live in Victoria BC but my heart is in Ottawa Ontario. I do miss it especially the colourful autumns and the crisp sunny winters. But home is also where your family is, and mine is here.
Hi! I was born and raised in Racine WIsconsin. I married and moved to CA when I was 20. Then we moved to Houston to work with NASA. We have lived here for 23 years now. Houston is home now as our sons and grandsons were born here. Still miss the winter sports in WI.
I’m Kathy and I live near Des Moines, IA. I love it here because it is the Midwest and the people are terrific. But a big piece of my heart still resides in Hales Corners, WI, near Milwaukee, where I grew up cheering for the Milwaukee Brewers and the Green Bay Packers. (still do!) Hope to see you at the quilt show coming to Des Moines in October! Thanks for the giveaway opportunity!
I live just outside of Smithville, OH–as my kids would tell you: People population 1,800-cow population 6,000! There is ONE traffic light, which is set to blink only, at 9PM at night! (you can tell we’re a big town!) There are beautiful views of the OHIO Valley, and some very nice quilt shops in this part of OH! I was born & raised in MN, so have driven through Wisconsin many times–in fact, spent some time on my honeymoon in the Eau Claire County jail for a speeding violation–that’s another story! I love MODA fabric & thank you for a nice giveaway!
Oh my goodness, that quilt is ADORABLE! It will be perfect for my kids’ room… Thanks!
My family and I are originally from Fort Worth, Texas, but we’re in Michigan right now for school. In all honesty, I LOVE Michigan and I’d be happy to stay for a while. The weather is gorgeous! ๐
I love the little quilt with the sheep in the center! You always come up with great ideas. I live out here in SE Connecticut near Mystic. I’m originally from Wisconsin, BUT we love New England. Come out and vend the Vermont Quilt Festival soon!
I currently live in Littleton, CO and it is very nice but my heart is with my three kids- in Edinburgh, Scotland; Orlando, FL and our hometown in CT. Love the kit! Thanks for sharing.
I live in Lomira which is just about 40 miles south of you, but my hubby and I so want to move to the northwoods. I absolutely love your shop and stop in every time I get in the area!
Thanks so much for the giveaway and the adorable pattern!
Who am I? A frustrated quilter who has to be happy stealing a few minutes here and there, when I would rather be sewing all my waking moments! My hometown is a little harder to answer, seeing as I am in limbo between two different houses on opposite sides of the river. The old house and town… Hate it. The new one? absolutely <3 it! I've got a sewing studio that is bigger than any other room in the house! YAY! Hyde Park PA, is where I will call home until I win the lottery or leave this earth. If I win the lottery you will find me in the Smoky Mountains!
What fun!! No surprise to see how geographically diverse the responses are. I am lucky enough to live in central wisconsin where a visit to primative gatherings is less than an hour away. I travel quite a bit and of course, have to check out as many quiilt shops as possible. It is always fun to see something from PG somewhere else and think ” I know them”. I am going to follow Sandie’s lead – If i won the lottery – you would find me in the pacific northwest!
I am Gloria Bruce and I live in Winston Salem. i am from Chicago and have live in 5 others parts of the USA as well. this town is perfect for us at this stage in our lives. big enough 225,000. and small enough to be anywhere in 15 minutes. loving having lots of time foe quilting.
I love all the fabric lines you have put out, You are my all time favorite Moda designer, honestly!! I too have to agree my heart is not in my hometown, it sad to say but my poor little town is dying. Every second store in the downtown core is closing it’s doors, it seems that soon there will be nothing left.
Hello from my adopted home town of Prince Rupert, BC, Canada. I am originally from the prairies, but have lived here more than half my life so I am almost from here now!
I am Carrie, I haven’t lived in my hometown for 36 years, Cottage Grove, Oregon. It is a small town and my mother lives there. It is a town that I know like the back of my hand and I think that counts for something.
My home growing up was a old home with very cool woodwork, dad thought it was to expensive to heat so he lowered the ceilings. I understand now but I sure was sad to see the woodwork get wacked.
I think family makes home feel like home.
Home these days is in Bend, Oregon. It has wonderful quilting and quilters. It is a beautiful place and maybe some day you will visit. hint, hint!
Someday my dream is to come to Primitive Gatherings with my mother and sister. What fun, I’m saving for the party, we would love to spend time in your new quilt home.
I do love your quilt, nine patch with wool, perfect. I appreciate your generous spirit, sharing your creativity, You are a talented lady!
We live in the center of the USA, Missouri and we live near the center of Missouri too. We love it but are so excited to sell our home to a family and hit the road with the pooch, cat and rv. Thanks
Hello, I live in my home town of Budd Lake, NJ I love it here the lake is beautiful and doesn’t smell at all! I am so looking forward to going to your booth at the Oaks Pa quilt show but I am sad I won’t be able to meet you in person. I love all of your creations. Enjoy your day,
Nancy Murphy
Budd Lake, NJ
My current town is Suntree, Florida, located on the Space Coast. I like it here most of the time except in September/October — I get horribly homesick for fall! There is no fall here, no one decorates for fall, no leaves change color, no apples, etc. Try explaining fall and winter to a 5-year-old who has never seen either! When I was selling my house, I had a group of realtors come through and they decided that my house wasn’t selling because of my quilts and stitching and I had to take it down. “No one does ‘country’ in Florida!” they said. I packed it all away, repainted, and put up cheap, tacky, tourist-y decorations and it sold. At times like that I wish I was back in North Carolina!
I am Gloria and I was born and raised in Ypsilanti, Michigan and I now live in Charlotte, NC. My husband and I have lived in 5 other cities but we love living in the South. I love all the trees in Charlotte and that we have something blooming every month. I don’t miss the Michigan, Iowa and Ohio winters! I would love to visit your shop, who knows…..I may travel your way! I hope to be at a show where you are vending so I can see your wonderful booth!
I have lived in my current town for one year, and my heart is definetely elsewhere! But I am not sure where… actually I do: we lived in Seattle before, many miles away now, and only for two years, but I do miss it. I have moved a lot, between countries, so hometown is a hairy issue.
I currently live in Scandia, MN, but i can still so easily call my parents farm by Woodville, WI my home. Evn my kids say they want to live in WI when they grow up, and i am pretty sure I will be back there some day too. My roots run daap!
Sweet home Chicago is truly home for me. There’s just no other city in the world quite like it. I do love to travel, but it’s always nice to come home! Love your fabric and the sweet little project, Lisa!! Have been a big fan of yours from way, way back!!
I am in the Des Moines area and a big part of why I love it here is the great Quilt show in early Oct each year with AQS. Lots of quilts, lots of great vendors, including Primitive Gatherings, and lots of fun times! My heart is at Tablerock Lake near Branson, MO where I grew up, but for now, I am happy here!! Thanks for the chance to win!
My hometown is Cedar City Utah. It’s a small town in Southern Utah. I wasn’t born there but it is my hometown now ๐ I wouldn’t dream of being anywhere else ๐
I am Judy and I live in Morris, Illinois. My favorite part of my town is family and friends. Home is where your heart is and my heart is with the ones I love. We have lived many places and that always rings true.
I have been to PG twice in the past two years and plan to make it back next year. Love, love, love your stuff and this current pattern is awesome.
Cindy here. I live in a small rural east Texas town named Emory. There is not much here, but I love it. I don’t see myself living anywhere else. Some people don’t like small towns because everyone knows your business. I like going to the store and having kids say “Hi Mrs. C.”. Even though my kids have grown and gone, their friends and their siblings know who I am and will talk to me. The UPS guy is great…he will deliver my package where ever I am at. One year he kept up with my part time schedule and knew what job I was at on what day or if I was at home. Maybe I order too much online if he actually noticed??? Love the chance to have some candy or a whole “baking kit”.
Hi Lisa, my name is Amanda and I live just outside of Indianapolis, IN which is where I grew up and went to school…so I guess it’s safe to say I love my hometown! I can’t imagine life anywhere else at the moment ๐ Thanks for the chance to win.
I live in Elizabethtown, PA. My heart has never been here. it has really been hard to answer some of the giveaway questions on this blog hop. My heart is in a place I have never lived, but heave spent a good deal of time there…..Budapest, Hungary. If I didn’t have three adorable grands living in Pittsburgh, I would move there in a heartbeat.
I live in a small town Xenia, OH. My heart is really with my first home town which is Butterfield, MN which only had a population of 600 when I was raised there. It was a great little community to be brought up in where everyone knew everyone and looked out for each other. Doors were never locked and coffee was always brewing. Would love to live in a town like that again. Love your pattern and am so hoping to win!
I love your block! The stars are so true to the fabric design. I have an addiction to everything red white and blue and Moda have really nailed this collection. I moved away from my ‘home’ Manchester,UK over 7 years ago to be a country girl in the Wye Valley. It took years to feel like home and adjust to country life…but I did. I couldn’t imagine anything else now. At first, to cope, I used to get my ‘fill’ of Manchester, its nightlife, its shops, family and friends almost bi-monthly and now I have trouble stopping them visit me! They have come to love it here too. Ultimately, Manchester is still ‘home’. its my roots, I can’t imagine moving back but I will never forget it. They may take the girl out of Manchester, but they will never take Manchester from the girl.
Hi Lisa, I’m Linda from Lawrenceville GA, northeast of Atlanta. Can’t wait to see what wonderful things you will have at the Expo in October! My hubby and I have moved 14 times since we were married (in Ohio), all job related, so I have lots of hometowns! I think my favorites, so far, have been the Philadelphia area and Summerville SC, near Charleston. I have loved working with wool for some time now and just finished one of your snowman framed pictures. Too cute. Can’t wait to hang it for the winter and hope it brings a little good luck for some snow here in Georgia. Thanks for the chance to sew with some of your yummy fabrics!!
Hi Lisa, My name is Judy and I live in West Seneca,NY – outside of Buffalo. Snow Country! I originally came from Northrwest Indiana. Thank you for the wonderful pattern in your Blog. It looks like a fast and fun project and I am going to bring it to our Quilting group…seven of us get together on Wednesdays and we sew in a friend’s rental home. We have a geat time learning quilting and griping about our problems – it is truly therapeutic! Judy R
I grew up in a place in Ontario with only 7500 people. We moved away when I was 10 so my heart is somewhere else for sure. I live in London now – a small town girl living abroad in the big city. Wouldn’t change it for the world! Super giveaway – thanks for the opportunity!
Well, I was born in Maracaibo, Venezuela but the closest to a hometown is where I am living now, beautiful Galt-On-The-Grand, Cambridge, Ontario. This is such a charming town, founded by Scots so lots of stone buildings with the Grand River running right through the middle of the historic city centre – love it!
Thank you for this opportunity to win some of your lovely work – and yes, your quilt should have been on the cover of Fons & Porter – what were they thinking???
Hi Lisa, I’m Pauline and I live in Canton Michigan. I’ve had 13 different address in 42 years and I love it here in Michigan but my heart is back in Canada, in Waterloo Ontario. Some day I will be moving back. I’ll be Wendi’s neighbor. Waterloo is a hop, skip and a jump from Cambridge. Wendi left you a comment on Sept 13 @ 4:05 p.m. Thanks for sharing in the blog hop. I love your pattern, there is just the right amount of wool for a first wool project. I agree with you…Linda is an amazing quilter. Thanks for the chance, have a fabulous Friday!!
I live in Merced, CA and I would not call this my hometown. I really would love to move somewhere smaller, a town from an earlier time when things were simpler and safer.
I’m from Huntington Beach, CA and love it, for its beachy beauty but mostly because it is home. I live in rural Oregon now, and like the rural life, too. Here, our house feels like “home” but HB will always be home.
Hi Lisa – I always love to see one of your posts in my inbox, and I can’t wait to see you in Houston! I’m from Barry’s Bay, Ontario Canada – population 1200. The nearest quilt shop is over an hour away, thank goodness for internet shopping. I love my hometown, it was a great place to raise my 5 children, who all moved to the city to pursue their education. We have a lot of beautiful lakes and scenery – not much else going on though. Thank goodness for quilting!!!
These fabraics are so-o-o beautiful! My adopted home town is beautiful Fountain Valley, California. I have been living here for over 15 years. I love the town and all of the people here. It is close to the beach (3-1/2 miles!), yet close to get to see my wonderful family members. It is hard to think of living anywhere else.
I live in Armidale, Australia, but was born in a coastal town about 500km away. Where I live now is in a rural setting, high in altitude, with spectacular waterfalls between here and the coast.

Hmm it seems like your website ate my first
comment (it was super long) so I guess I’ll just sum it up what I had written and say, I’m thoroughly enjoying your
blog. I too am an aspiring blog blogger but I’m still new to everything. Do you have any tips and hints for inexperienced blog writers? I’d certainly appreciate
it.

Hi, my name is Vickie and I live in Louisa, KY. Louisa is a very small town who has lost most all of it’s local business. How do I like my home town which I have lives in since I was 8 yrs. old, it’s OK a little to close for comfort. I would love to live close, very close to the ocean. I have been enjoying you blog and all your tips which are very helpful. I do so much like your quilt with the lamb. I have just started working with wool and love it. Thanks for all your help.
Right here is the perfect site for anybody who wishes to find out about this topic. You realize so much its almost hard to argue with you (not that I actually would want toโฆHaHa). You certainly put a new spin on a subject which has been written about for many years. Wonderful stuff, just excellent!
With havin so much content and articles do you ever run into any problems of plagorism
or copyright infringement? My blog has a lot of exclusive content
I’ve either created myself or outsourced but it appears a lot of it is popping it up all over the web without my permission. Do you know any techniques to help prevent content from being ripped off? I’d definitely appreciate it.

One thing which you may find unique in this city is the change

for ensuring that only one contract was in
effect. Gen X’ers likely buy homes earlier because they have a higher proportion of two-income households.
