Sorry to bother and repost this…but i noticed some of my text changed colors? ย It was white and invisible…go figure that one out?
Hello, I’m Lisa, from Primitive Gatherings. ย If you are a regular visitor, or here for the first time…I welcome you to sign up to browse through earlier posts to learn more about me and my company… ย If you like what you see and want to follow me in my quilting adventures, just enter your email in the box provided on the bottom right of this site…If you are an “old” friend, Welcome back…and thanks for hanging out with me…
Are you here today for the Friendship Quilt Along sponsored by Moda?…the best fabric company in the world…Okay…maybe I am just a little biased….I want you all to know what a joy it is to be able to work with such an “over-the-top” company such as Moda, United Notions…They truly are the best at what they do and support “us” who work with them in many ways to help grow our “little” pattern companies.
NNow on to the Quilt Along… My Friendship block features our newest line of fabric: Snowman Gatherings. ย It is to arrive in our stores in April 2013. ย What I love about this line is that it has 2 cute little primitive snowman prints, but then all the other prints are little “reproductions” of vintage fabrics in 5 color ways, a wonderful deep navy, a union blue, and then three tones ranging from cream to dark tan. ย The prints consist of motifs that remind me of snow, swirling snow, stars and such… ย Another bonus is the fabric “goes along” with my other lines…One of the union blues in my block is from “Old Glory Gatherings”. ย It is nice to be able to collect fabrics…remember you do not have a “stash”…it is a Collection. ย You never have to feel guilting of having a collection. ย Collections are valuable!
Are you collecting all 28 blocks? ย This next link contains the PDF directions for my signature block, ย you can click and print…
I want to share some photos of Snowman Gatherings that were taken by Camille Roskelley for advertising purposes…They are so sweeeeeet!!! ย Thanks Camille for your camera talents!
Warm Winter Blessing is a BOM that will be starting in April/May…depending on when the fabric arrives…I would love to post a link to my store site where you can sign up…but at this moment our site is currently down due to an upgrade….This is a real bummer when there is so much going on right now…The new site will have lots of nice features…but right now half of our pictures and prices are not there and it looks like we were hijacked…no logo and a bunch of random stuff going on…another issue is we didn’t realize our company that is upgrading us is in England! 6 hour time difference…so Please come back and visit when all is back up and running, we have lots of nice samples and wools and inspiration…and keep your fingers crossed it all works our and we don’t have to go back to our “old” site and rebuild it… ย If you want to be sure to get a spot in this BOM you may call us…920-722-7233 ย Sorry for this inconvenience this may cause…I am going to share the link here but it may not work for you right now…but you will come back and visit later, right? ย Warm Winter Blessing
Now back to the Signature Blocks….
I just love signature quilts. ย This is a signature block that I had framed and it hangs in my studio. ย Back in the day…they had signature stamps. ย I would love to have stamp created for me…I guess this is a lost art. ย This was not a “rubber” stamp like we have today…I believe they were made of metal…and could be very finely etched… ย In the second picture you can see how fine and detailed they were… I have attached a few signature quilts, that I have found, some are antique and some are new…some are little images but just so you can get another idea for a signature quilt.
What is a Blog Hop without a GIVE AWAY!!! Moda has generously donated some goodies…Two Layer Cakes and a Dessert Roll….Do you know what a dessert roll is? ย It is a 5″ strip of 20 fabrics from the line….These are NEW to the Moda Bakeshop offerings………If you wish to have a chance at winning one of these “pretties” please leave a comment in my comment section!
If you missed any of my fellow designers posts or need to know where to go next here is a list of the dates and sites….
We also have a Flickr groupย for you to add your quilt blocks to the gallery.

Would I wish to win some Snowmen Gathering….well, that is an understatement. I love it!! I think Lisa did a fabulous job quilting the one with the feather border….and fabulous may not be expressive enough. I am looking forward to seeing you at the show in Cincinnati this spring. I am bringing a friend who is a blue fanatic (like I am), and I am sure she is going to love this line…..she is just at the beginning of her quilting journey. It is such a delight to share it with her. Kristy
I’m new to your blog and I love it. Thanks for all the ideas for friendship quilts. My mind is awhirl as what to do first. I love your new line, too, wintry but warm. Looking forward to more posts.
ooh, your Snowman Gatherings line has such great basic colors. I made a baby quilt once in those colors, and it took me a long time to gather the fabrics I needed – I could have used Snowman Gatherings if it had come out earlier!
The signature quilts are wonderful! I wish you had done this one earlier in the year when I was looking for ideas for a wedding signature quilt. I will keep these ideas in mind! Thanks for a chance in the giveaway, these Moda fabrics are so beautiful, can’t wait until they are in stores!
After wondering what colors I am going to use to piece all these great blocks in this hop, I knew the moment I saw yours what fabric I would use that I just love! I have some gorgeous teal-ish paisley fabric with several other colors slashed into it! That would look so good with a white print and black! Maybe a little red here and there! Thank you so much! I love your snowman block of the month and need to sign up for that! Love, love LOVE those snowmen!
Lisa, The stamped, framed block is a treasure…I also love signature quilts. Your Snowman Gatherings line of fabrics is delicious! Those Moda layer cakes and desserts look yummy, too!

I have also used numerous ones to finish my primitive needlework projects. Also, enjoy your contributions to the “Primitive Quilts” magazine. The Snowmen look like another fun “collection”.

I love snowmen and the color blue, so this fabric line is just up my alley! I must tell you that I visited your shop a 2+ years ago…all the way from Delaware. I told my husband I would probably “be in there for awhile” and he wandered in almost 2 hours later wondering what in the world I was looking at….and I still hadn’t seen everything. Needless to say, my purchases airline pound restrictions, so we had to mail some of it home. Thank you for your wonderful designs and shop.
I love your new line of fabric: Snowman Gatherings and my favorite color is blue. It would be perfect if I won the giveaway. My friend told me about your site and I have been a fan ever since. See you in Lakeland soon!

Lisa, I absolutely love your Warm Winter Blessings BOM and your Snowman Gatherings!! If you haven’t had the opportunity to meet Lisa, you need to make a point to do. She is wonderful!! I met Lisa in Lakeland FL last year at the Quilt Expo. I asked her to teach me how to do the blanket stitch. I had a hard time getting the hang of it but she just kept encouraging me and was so patient. I really appreciated it.
Love the new fabric line and your new BOM !! Saw it on the back of Primitive Quilts and Projects. Heard something wonderful about you this past week during my cruise with Rose Ann — that you’d be back in 2014 !! That’s wonderful !! I hope I get to go once again !!

I love your block, thanks for the link and pattern. Your Warm Winter Blessing BOM is too cute! I love snowmen. I clicked on the link for more info, which is there but the price says $0.00. Thank you and Moda for an awesome and generous giveaway and a chance to win.
Love the new fabric line . . . it’s great that it goes with some of the other collections that you’ve produced! Thanks for the great block too! Would just love some of the new fabric before it’s out in stores . . . I’d have to guard my stash from “sticky-finger fabric friends” :o) What can I say . . . my SFFF’s have great taste in fabric!
Laura
Lisa…. I can’t ell you how happy I am that the new line is coming out so soon! I absolutely adore snowmen, and <3 your designs, so have been going crazy waiting for "Snowman Gatherings"! I also wanted you to know that your Primitive Muslin in Tallow, is my go to fabric for everything! Florals, primitives, country… It looks wonderful with all of it! Just orered 2 more bolts from my LQS!
I follow your blog and happily this is of the usual and expected quality – consistently inspiring with some thought provoking surprises. I would love to win some fabric to add to my stash of your other collections and follow some of the inspirations that you regularly share.
Yum, your block is very nice, really nice.. I could make a whole quilt out of that block and fabric. Your Snowman BOM makes me just melt, it is so dang cute, count me in. Thank you again for all you do.
I am loving the Snowman Gatherings fabric! The blues in the line are just what I have been looking for. Also love the BOM . Will that be offered as an individual pattern to buy on your site? Looking forward to stopping by your booth at AQS show in Lancaster. Have a great day!
Wanda
I am in love with wool and using wool with cottons. Your fabric collections are awesome for that type of project. Your antique quilts are wonderful, I loved that you shared them. We often get caught up in the new techniques and tools available for the modern quilter, and forget the beauty of the great heritage that exists in antique quilts. I marvel at the beauty that these women created without any of the tricks and tools we have today. They were true atrtists!
I love your fabric and I love your patterns! I have some of your wool table mat patterns that I have made up, and now your snowmen BOM and tablerunner are on my wishlist!
Lisa, these are the cutest fabrics EVER. We never get snow in lower Alabama, so we can’t build snowmen for real, but with these snowmen fabrics, we can build some fabric ones. You have a knack for designing the cutest fabrics. Pam
Thanks for the post about signature quilts and the friendship block. I really do love your fabrics, designs and one of my favorite parts of looking on the internet is reading your blog and looking through the on-line catalog. I’m thankful that I encountered Primitive Gatherings at International Quilt Festival in 2010. Thanks for the block.
Lisa you are truly a “shining Star”—you are an amazing designer, talent and person!!!! Moda is very lucky to have you on there ‘team’….keep up the wonderful work !)
Hi Lisa, I always enjoy your blog, patterns, wool, and flannel. It looks like you are going to have another busy year, and that’s a good thing. ๐ Can’t wait until your new fabric line is in the quilt stores. Thank you for the block.
warm regards, Debby (Dousman, WI)
Hi Lisa! Thanks for all of your inspirational ideas! I really like your fabric designs/choices you have available. I’m just glad I live in the same hometown as you do, so I can take your great classes & get projects to inspire me! Your siganture quilts are giving me an idea for my son & his finance’! Thanks for all the hard work you do to keep us educated & inspired to become the quilters we want to be!
Just love this fabrics…and you’re designs! I’m already dreaming that I’m going to win…well at least its a sweat dream. Thanks for sharing all those nice quilts Lisa…
Love, love, love the snowman quilt! Even though I’ve promised myself to finish up the projects I’ve started, this quilt is very tempting! And I’ve never done a BOM before. Sounds like fun!
Thanks for the wonderful block pattern. I so excited about your new line of fabric coming out. It is so darn cute. I’m having a hard time keeping up on all your great patterns and kits. How do you get it all done?
Karen M in Nebraska
Oh yes…please, please enter me for a chance to win some of your lovely fabric! I love the colors of your new fabric line ๐ And the snowman quilt is awesome!
Smiles, DianeM
Hmm is anyone else having problems with the images on this
blog loading? I’m trying to find out if its a problem on my end or if it’s the blog.
Any feed-back would be greatly appreciated.
I am new to this blog. I was looking for a quilt block using snowman gatherings and found your signature block using that fabric. Are there other blocks or does this one make the whole quilt? I have signed up for your blog but am a little confused right now. Love the fabric.
