How are you doing on your Christmas prep?  I did a some decorating on Sunday and the tree last night…Here are a few pics of what the Bongean house looks like…sorry these are a little dark…but its been rainy and gloomy.  God…Please send us some snow!!! Wisconsin is not good in December without any snow!  The snow is very pretty…this rainy mess is not!

I’ve tried to mix it up and use some different quilts this year…I love the scrappy Christmas block quilt that the shop girls made me for Christmas one year…The Christmas Reel quilt is from one of my first fabric lines and is made extrordinary with Linda’s (thequiltedpineapple.com) quilting. The Buggy Barn crazy tree quilt I bought at a benefit action because it was going to go for so little money that I bid a decent amount for it and took it home!  It was made by Nancy Dey, Kaukauna WI.

This is the first year I have not shopped for new Christmas decor…that might have something to do with moving in Feb.  I will miss this house…we have been here for almost 13 years…that is the longest I have ever lived in one place on my own…Nick & I purchased Northridge when we were still working in the paper mill and before we opened Primitive Gatherings.lisabongeanlisabongeanIMG_4649IMG_4653FullSizeRenderlisabongean

  1. My favorite part of Christmas is the family all getting together. That rarely happens any other time of the year. And I love all the lights. The pics of your home are lovely. Thanks for sharing.

  2. Your home is beautiful! I’m sure you will miss the familiarity of the old house, but all of the possibilities of a new one are so exciting. Wishing you and yours the Merriest of Christmases!

  3. I would be hard-pressed to have just ‘one’ favorite part of Christmas, but the candy making I do every year is really up there pretty close to first place! I usually make double batches of 6 or 8 different candy recipes for gifts. The house just smells wonderful! Your house looks so pretty and so festive. Thank you for the giveaway – AND all you do through out the year.
    Merry Christmas!
    Barbara in TN

  4. I have been wanting one of those books, thanks Lisa! Loved all your Christmas Pictures, thanks for sharing.

  5. Getting my my kids and grandkids together and buying their “Santa” gifts to see their little faces in excitement is my favorite.

  6. My favorite part of Christmas is being able to see Christmas through the eyes of my little grandsons. I just love their awe and excitement. When I am with them, I appreciate all the simple joys of the holidays.

  7. You inspire me at how much you get done at this busy time of year! Your home looks lovely! I have ordered both days needful things and have them on hold. Thanks

  8. The best part of Christmas is when I go home. My Mom and Dad are right there at the door – smiling, eyes shiny with tears, and hugs, oh those hugs, some of the best ever. It makes everything right.

  9. Our favorite family tradition is our stockings. The original red felt with holiday appliqués and sequins was given to me when I was a baby and I have made matching ones for my husband, children, children’s spouses, grandchildren and even dogs! They are totally kitsch but we all love them and remind us of family even when we can’t be together.

  10. Oh Lisa, your house looks beautiful. I really don’t know how you find the time for all you do. Best wishes on your move going smoothly. Yikes, I can not even imagine how much work it would be to move. Can’t wait to see photos of your new sewing space. Do you have a place all picked out for your fabric stash?
My favorite part of Christmas is time with family. I love going to church on Xmas eve and then after we all open one gift, always PJ’s or lounge wear, change into our new comfy clothes and sit in the family room with all the candles lit and tree lights and enjoy each other’s company and some cocktails. So peaceful. Wishing you a wonderful blessed Christmas and time to sit with the ones you love.

  11. I think the best part of Christmas this year will be having our 10 month old grandson with us. Not that he’s going to understand what’s going on,but just having him around is a joy. (And it’s been lots of fun shopping for him, too! )

  12. We’re in Florida this year so Christmas is a little different from normal. It’s not like Christmas at home in Michigan! Your house looks beautiful and I can’t wait to get my needful book!! Thanks for doing the 12 days again too!!

  13. The best part of Christmas is when everyone is back home where we all belong! My husband and I also just found out yesterday that we’re going to be first time grandparents!!! Best gift ever!!!

  14. I’m not having very good luck leaving a comment here. I bought one of these little books last weekend. It will be very handy, I should have bought another one as a gift for my friend in Minneapolis.

  15. The house looks amazing even in the gloomy, rainy weather!! We have an easy Christmas prep because we are traveling to see family this year.
The book looks like an awesome “needful thing.”

  16. The best part of Christmas is seeing the joy on my grandchildren faces and being together. This year my daughter and her family are stationed overseas but we will face time with them so we can all be together that way.

  17. What a great book for resource!! My favorite part of Christmas is family getting together. From my mom and dad who are 83 and 86 to my 2 year old grandson. Thankful for them all. They are my life’s blessings!

  18. This book looks awesome. The best part of Christmas for me is spending time with family and watching the excitement of my grandkids. Decorations are all up just need to wrap gifts. Your home looks beautiful!

  19. Love the tree quilt,I have made this and always wanted to make another one.family is my favorite part of Xmas.

  20. I knew you always used valdani threads and am curious to maybe start using them as well, but the cost of them has always kept me from them. Your book looks great and would maybe help me get a start on the threads!

  21. Love your website but especially you Christmas Decorations, looking forward to having family gather for the holidays.

  22. Your Home is always so Pretty this time of the year! Love the new book, it is a Must To Have! My favorite part of Christmas is doing something nice for Christmas for others so they will also have a nice Christmas. This is a Very Nice time of the year, but also a sad time for a lot of folks….

  23. For me, the best part of Christmas is family. We were an Army family for years and often didn’t have family around. Friends can be a wonderful way to celebrate, but now that my husband retired, it is awesome to live close to family. I love seeing you quilts and other decorations. Like you, other than the two ornaments I collect each year, and maybe a new quilt or two, I haven’t bought any new decorations. Thanks for the great info and for the chance to win.

  24. Your home looks wonderful, especially with all the beautiful quilts hanging all over 😉 I love it when our son & his family come for Christmas (every time they come is wonderful) and the youngest always says…”Grandma, we can stay for 4 days” or however many they can at that time. Grandchildren are wonderful at every age and make Christmas even more special. I have a wool project to make for Chrstmas gifts, I better fly. Thank you for all you share with us, your fans. Merry Christmas.

  25. Good morning Lisa, Your home is lovely. I love the quiet warmth of the quilts and colors. I try to use winter themes as we travel to see our son and grands over Christmas week. Snowmen, quilts, greenery, pinecones and since our name is Wood lots of birch-look candles. Our new and skinnier tree is decorated with pinecones, red berries, handmade icicles and birds. Next year I want to use Downeast Thunder’s wool birds. Have you seen her site? Amazing! I have not seen this book before but I definitely need it!! I am the one who always buys something I already have and forget the one I need. Thanks for all the fun!

  26. The best part of Christmas now is obviously the grandchildren, 4, 2 and 2. But it is also seeing my children interact with their children. I love being a grandmother!
This little book is cute and helpful. I’ll get one and get organized.

  27. I own this book and LOVE it! It has saved me money by NOT buying more of what I already own! Lol! Many times I would just buy more thread as I could not remember what I had at home – that’s not such a terrible thing but it gives me more money to spend on other things!

  28. Thanks to you, I am a confessed “wool applique-aholic.” (That’s a good thing – I think!) Of course that means I have to try a keep track of what threads I am using for which project. I have found your wool swatch booklet valuable as it lists thread numbers that go along with your dyed wools – very handy when placing an order. This book sounds like the organization I could use. Your home is sparklingly beautiful.

  29. The best part of Christmas is having my husband, sons, daughter-in-law and 1 year old grandson together. Any day we are together is the best day ! The fun of Christmas with a small child is beginning again !

  30. I look forward to being with family for the Christmas season. I am making the long drive from Colorado to south Texas(18 hours), but hearing a 7 year old grandaugter saying “Grandma you finally got here” makes it all worth it.

  31. Merry Christmas! The book is definitely on my needful things list. I’ve been needing to keep track of my threads. Jeanine

  32. The best part of Christmas are all the good memories of Christmas I am 80 years old so I have lots of great memories. And hopes for many more to come.

  33. Beautiful Christmas decorations Lisa! This is the first year that I have an artificial tree… takes a little getting used to. But beautiful. Now I want some snow.

  34. Merry Christmas! Your house with it’s warm decorations so tastefully done looks amazing. I still have much to do for the holidays and am currently knitting a Christmas stocking that needs to get done by the 20th! It’s my first sock ever and at the heel stage so am feeling very confused just now .
This book looks like it would be a huge asset for those valdani threads and other tidbits you need while wool working, thanks for the chance.

  35. I think my favorite part is getting together with family and friends and looking at their decorations. Having them tell me the stories behind them.

  36. Spending time with family and friends is so precious. Love, love, love the pictures of your home…beautiful!

  37. Lots of fabulous inspirational information and pictures. Thank you for sharing. Fabulous new book. Great idea.

  38. Oh LISA! We just moved before Thanksgiving after living in our little house for 17 years. We didn’t think we had a lot of stuff because we had not much storage. Moving (even with lots of help) is not for the WEAK! It is all done now and Christmas with our sons and their beautiful little daughters (we have 2 new granddaughters!) will be a chance to slow down a little. Good luck n your move! I love and need any type of organization–love the book!

  39. The best part of Christmas, after remembering the reason, is spending time with family and friends.

  40. Christmas is now so fun with 3 little grandsons Just old enough now to get excited. I too like you just moved from home we lived in for 13 years and was also the longest I had lived in ever. keep up all your hard work, we all love what you do.

  41. I love all Christmas!!! I have two granddaughters I wrap every one of their present, they get so excited they can’t wait for Christmas.

  42. I don’t think I could leave a house like yours..,.it’s beautiful! Still decorating for Christmas, and am looking forward to spending it with Family. I hope to have more handmade creations adorning the house in the years to come. The needle and thread book looks like a must-have!

  43. Another amazing tool… I have just this issue and lots of the same threads. Thanks for your creative solution. I’d love to win this!

  44. Moving is always Bittersweet, but with so much for the Bongean family to look forward to, a new house, new shop, new grand-baby, will turn into a wonderful 2016 for you all. I wish myself a great new 2016, as well, and a new magnetic bowl from Jake, and a new book would make it sweeter. Have a great holiday. Is the Cali part of family coming back home? Love to Miss Terri. Can’t wait for February!!!!

  45. What a handy little book to keep organized! Would love to have one of these. One of my favorite things about Christmas is sitting quietly in the evenings with the Christmas tree lit and reflecting on all the wonderful memories of Christmases past.

  46. The best part of Christmas for me this year is having my youngest daughter at home with us. She went through some difficult times the past year but is trying to get her life back together. Proof for me that God does answer a mother’s prayer. Also thankful to have two of six grandkids near. Merry Christmas!!

  47. Ah yes…. best part of Christmas is remembering loved family members that have passed away… as I prepare their favourite foods for our traditional Christmas meals…. sometimes teary but very special feelings that warm my heart

  48. Best part of my Christmas is hot chocolate and marshmallows with my grandchildren watching me stir until they can have some at their Gammy’s house. The warmth of the fire and the lights of the tree and then present guessing while the grandkids wait for Santa.

  49. I love finding some quiet time to sit by the tree and do my favorite handwork (wool). I would love to win your book as I’m usually an organized person but find I buy duplicate threads from time to time!

  50. The best part of Christmas is sharing the joy of the season with my grandchildren!! Your little book looks great! I need some organization with my threads!!

  51. Celebrating the reason for season and being with family and friends is tops on my list. Thank you for publishing the thread book, a great tool, which I need. Thanks for sharing your home with us, beautiful!

  52. My favorite part of Christmas is having all my family together. And I love all the baked goods, beautiful decorations and Christmas carols.

  53. Decorating is beautiful as always. I can honestly say I need one of these booklets. I have thread notes everywhere.

  54. With the creation of this book, you are reading my mind Lisa! I have enough valdani threads that I can’t remember what I have! Keep meaning to write down what I have , color and thickness, but I still haven’t! Thank you Lisa!!!

  55. The thread book sounds like a very helpful thing! Today is my last day of work as a School Nurse as I am having foot surgery tomorrow. I had my other foot done back in June so I know what I am in for. Long recovery, but I will be patient and realize the outcome is what counts! My goal is to be sprinting by spring so I am ready for Paducah!
Christmas preparation was fun but busy as I needed to get everything done by today. All my gifts have been purchased, decorating complete, gifts wrapped, and baking done. Now I am ready to just relax, and heal, and enjoy my family! I have blocks from both last year’s and this year’s BOW ready to work on while I remain unable to walk. I have a lot to keep myself busy! My four children will be coming home for Christmas- this makes me so happy!!! My youngest, who has been in Spain(studying abroad) is coming home this weekend! I can’t wait to hear of all of her adventures! Merry Christmas to all!

  56. How do I tell you that I want to add more things during needful things and I ordered the book but want to keep it in my cart until last day.

May the holiday season fill you with peace and joy, Sharon💒

  57. This book is my favorite. It is so nice to open to the number and see if I have the color and the correct weight. It will help me avoid dupicating colors, which has been so frustrating. So fun to see your beautiful Christmas decorations. I need a primitive decorater! This Christmas our 5 kids and 12 grandkids will all be here and we are so excited. It’s been almost 6 years since we were all together. It will be crazy and chaotic with all 24 of us under one roof for 3 days, but it will be heavenly! Thanks again for all you do and have a fun Christmas with your darling grandson!

  58. What a great way to keep up with the Valdani threads…. your home looks so festive. Merry Christmas.

  59. I can feel your house miss. I live in a 125 year old house that I completely renovated and it is up for sale. I know when it sells, I will be house broken, haha. I love this old house but it is way to big for two people in their seventies. Your pictures look cozy and inviting, filled with your personal touch, that’s why I love your shop so much.

  60. I have looked and looked for something exactly like this – what a great idea!!!! And your Christmas quilts are simply gorgeous!!

  61. That’s hard to say, but probably decorating. Sounds like it might be the same for you as well. I love getting out the quilts and woven things and cross stitch items that I have made over the years. This year I made some Santa dolls which were so fun to do and so unique. And decorating the tree with so many memories. I taught Seond Grade for many years many years ago and I still have the ornaments that kids made and gave me.

  62. The best part of Christmas is spreading love and joy and remembering the miracle of the Savior’s birth and His love for each of us.

  63. My favorite part of Christmas is the decorating and cooking for family and friends. This Friday I am going to enjoy some sewing time. Years ago my sister-in-law and I were always busy, busy finishing up making Christmas presents for everyone. It was so fun to chat on the phone or in letters each week to see where we were at with our gifts. Yes before email, text etc. I still make some presents..but not as many as I use to. Next year everyone will get the little wool trees on their presents.

  64. My favorite Christmas activities are baking cookies and going out to get a beautiful tree from the woods. We usually go as a family, but this year our oldest son is in the army over in Jordan and will not be home for Christmas. We will miss being together, but my younger two will be here! One with his new bride!

  65. What an awesome little book and I could surely use one. Lisa we just moved and closed on our house last Thursday. We had been there 13 years too. It’s the longest we had ever lived in one house. We gained 2 son-in- laws and 6 grand kids in that house. We have moved into a new duplex to live while we have our retirement home built this summer. I’m up to my eyeballs in boxes so not much Christmas around here this year. We will go find it when we make the rounds to see the kids.

  66. OMG that’s me trying to decide what thread I need in the store. How do I not know of this book? You should display it right next to the treadsď

  67. Yes, it would be hard to give up your beautiful home! Love your decorating, got a few ideas for myself. Love the idea of the little book. It would help me so much. Have to get one.

  68. This little book has been wonderful! No guessing about the threads I have, plus all the information in it are helpful. I love decorating my home and sharing the season with my family.

  69. This book looks like a lifesaver. And your home looks like you, warm and inviting. You must share pictures of your new house. I’m sure it will be beautiful.

  70. My favorite part of Christmas is keeping the tradition of making all the Norwegian goodies my family loves and sharing them with my 89 year old dad! Thanks for sharing pictures of your beautiful home. You’ll make any house a “home”! Enjoy your new one!

  71. What a great idea, and nice way to keep track of all my valdani threads. This year my favorite part of Christmas is my brand new 1st grandchild born 2 weeks ago. “Little” Madeline only weighed 11 lbs, but that’s okay, more to love.

  72. The little book will be useful to record the threads I have. I write it down on a piece of paper and lose it. The best part of Christmas for me is when my son comes home. He is a pilot in the Canadian Forces. He’ll be going overseas in a couple of months so I really want to enjoy every moment with him.

  73. The Valdani book is a great idea. I buy duplicate things so often because I don’t know what I have…my bad!

  74. I love working with wool, it is so addictive! And Valdani is my all time favorite thread, along with your needles! !

  75. Your home s so polished! I love the look! My favorite part of the holiday is just hanging arou d house with out daughters here to enjoy. with, theres nothing better than that!

  76. The best part of Christmas is sharing with family & continuing traditions that have been passed down through the years. I have fond memories of waking up Christmas morning to see what goodies Santa left under the tree. Yes, I still believe!

  77. Sorry, my ipad seems to be skipping letters! It is meant to say, “hanging around the house with our daughters here to enjoy it with!

  78. My favorite thing about Christmas is spending time with family and seeing the all the kids so excited. Decorating is done and enjoying them. This book looks awesome and your home looks beautiful

  79. The thread book would be such a great resource…i’m just starting to get into some woolie things:) The best for me is to see our kids and grandkids since we are all spread out from NYC to Nashville to MN! I agree about the snow too……bring it on!!

  80. My second favorite thing about Christmas is getting my Christmas quilts hung. Some of them I forget I have so they’re ‘new’ all over again! The best part of Christmas will be sharing the day with my 3yo grandson and 5 month old grandson. Little Davis is full of energy and loves to show me all of the decorations he’s hung on his little Christmas tree. The little ones are so important this time of year.

  81. The very best part is being with my kids and grandkids but before they arrive the best part for me is getting all my ornaments out and enjoying all the memories. I buy ornaments on trips and collect snowman ornaments and Texas Capital ornaments.
I got to visit your Wisconsin shop in October, it was amazing. Thanks for all your wonderful creativity.
Merry Christmas to you and your family and your staff!

  82. The best part of Christmas is the part of being with family and celebrating and doing our little traditions. It is such a festive time and it seems to draw each other just a bit closer.

    Cathy ♥

  83. This looks like a very useful book. thank you for sharing, if I don’t win will definitely order one for myself

  84. I love getting Chrisrmas letters telling me what everyone has been up to, especially the people I don’t get to see often enough. I need that book!

  85. Christmas is my favorite time of year. Sitting by the lighted tree, rocking in my Great Grandmothers wooden rocking chair, covered up with a quilt…the time for self reflection and thanksgiving for my family and how blessed I am. It is a peaceful time for me that I am so thankful for.

  86. I love the smell of the house with Christmas cookies baking , and my DH waiting to eat a few warms ones :0). I spend more time at my machine during Dec. now that the kids have grown. We get to see them after Christmas but we still share the fun and joy of Christmas together when we can. Thanks for the chance to win this useful book and for sharing your lovely home all decorated for the winter…..I hope you leave everything up for a good long time :0). Merry Christmas and Happy Sewing

  87. My favorite things about Christmas is that I get together with friends and do fun things, like go for Christmas tea, or have people over to celebrate. I also love to get Christmas cards, particularly from those far away, and hear about events in their lives in the past year.

  88. My favorite Christmas tradition is taking my grandchildren shopping for each other and shopping for their Mom and Dad. Love to watch how excited they get while learning about Giving.

  89. The best part is being with family and now having two healthy grandchildren that can run to us with huge smiles and give us snugly hugs. The thread book would be a wonderful addition for my thread collection.

  90. I am unable to pick out just one thing since the whole season makes my heart happy – the smells of baking, the sounds of singing, the sounds of laughter of family and friends, the bright colors of red and green adorning our home, the homes and lawns decorated in our neighborhood, and after the light of day is over, sitting with my hubby in the family room by the woodstove, always with my woolie needlework in hand. He snoozes, I stitch. I have made many of your delightful patterns. My favorite Christmas one is your Joy To the World banner. THANK YOU LISA!!

  91. One of my favorite things about Christmas are the lights.. on houses, the big trees at the mall, and the Mission Inn in Riverside.

  92. The best part of Christmas for me is just having my adult kids come home. Of course they love certain foods I make and that is one way into their hearts.

  93. Christmas day is the best part. Each year one of my three children plays Santa, just like my Dad did, By the time we open all the gifts in my small house, my six grandsons are covered with Christmas wrapping paper and are barely visible. Everyone one is laughing like crazy. Then we sit down for the traditional Christmas meal. So much fun!

  94. This year has been especially nice because I have three friend that I spend time with and stitch, quilt, applique, eat, always eating good stuff, and going on road trips to find wool and fabric to make not only your wonderful patterns but others too. I am so excited because I am making each gal as special gift. I have made many of your little stacked trees and had a great time. You have the best ways to use up scraps of wool. Thanks for making your lovely designs and making my Christmas a colorful one this year. P

  95. I love your Twelve Days of Christmas. I like to see your needful ideas. Such wonderful ideas they are. Thank you

  96. I think the best part of Christmas is looking at the joy through the eyes of a child, how excited they get and how happy they are. I love my wool book, I already bought four of them in Houston, for my woolie friends. Merry Christmas to you and yours.

  97. Your house looks so festive and cosy. My favorite part of Christmas is spending time with the two granddaughters, two and five. It is such a magical time for the little ones.

  98. I love spending the time with my grown children! I love all your decorating. It looks so pretty and cozy! Hugs,

  99. I love giving my friends hand made Christmas gifts, especially made out of wool. Your adorable patterns are my first choice and I try to fit the pattern to the right friend. Thankyou for sharing your talent with all of us.

  100. My favorite part of Christmas is my
Whole family coming to my home on
Christmas Eve – I make a nice dinner
And we all eat and then the ripping and tearing of Christmas packages begins – so fun to watch the kids – this is the 2nd generation of Christmas Eve’s at my home.

  101. I love all the memories that decorating and baking bring back for me. My Mom is here with me in spirit as I bake and share with friends. When hubs and I put up all the decorations we remember all the times with our children who are now grown and on their own. Happily, our daughter and her husband will soon be here with us to make more good memories! Really, I love it all!

  102. The best part of Christmas are the memories and the making of new ones with family and friends. The wonder and magic of Christmas through the eyes of a child is probably the most wonderful thing. I love bringing out all my wool projects from years past especially the old fashioned Santa mat that you designed many years ago. It always brings a smile when people see it. Love your decorating and the book is a great idea.

  103. We get together with our children and their families. It is great fun watching the granddaughters all playing together. Since we all live in different states, this year we will all be together in Arizona…. we understand that we will see the largest tumbleweed christmas tree… what a thrill.
Merry Christmas to you and your family

  104. My favorite part of Christmas includes Family, Friends, and Creativity – my creativity, and the creativity of others. This definitely includes Primitive Gatherings! Great job, Lisa, Nick and team!

  105. The best part of Christmas for me is being with my children and granddaughters. Since we all live in different states, we will be celebrating christmas in Arizona this year. We understand that we will be seeing the largest tumbleweed christmas tree.. what fun.
Merry Christmas to you and your family…..
    Your home is beautiful…

  106. Love your house and the decor. The quilts are amazing. This is the first Christmas in our new home. It was fun and challenging to find new places to put all the decorations that adorned our prior home of 35 years. We do have snow, lots of it, also a new concept for us since we had lived in So. California for 44 years. Right now I’m loving it; come March, I’ll probably be ready to ship you some. In the meantime, I’m going to go broke buying all your needful things — I’ve loved everything so far. You don’t disappoint!

  107. Love this idea of a thread book! Your pics of your home decorated are so lovely! Merry Christmas, Lisa! Thank you for all you do for the quilting community!

  108. Watching young grandchildren’s delight with everything that is Christmas–lights, music, live reindeer, presents, etc.

  109. Christmas is always a special time of year for our family. We celebrate each other, spend time together and love watching the grandchildren shriek with joy over the gifts they receive! Your book is a “must have”, I already own a copy and went through my little, but growing, collection of threads. I actually have one duplicate, not bad !! Merry Christmas Lisa!!

  110. I love the soft light from my Christmas tree, lighted villages, and candle lamps in the windows. With the days getting shorter it warms my heart and brings me peace.

  111. The best part of the holidays for me are the memories. The second best is enjoying this Holiday in a “mindful” way…..enjoying each moment as it happens.

  112. The best part of Christmas for me is going to Tennessee to be with our grandkids, baking, crafting and all the holiday fun! I love this little book, have one already, but sure could use another one! Merry Christmas to you and yours!

  113. Love the little book. I must have one to keep my Valdani threads in order. That will help alot to avoid duplicates. Christmas is my favorite time of year. It’s going to be really special this year, when my granddaughter, Emma, finally gets the dollhouse that my husband made for her. He is finishing it up today-putting the doorknobs on the front door! He bought the kit for her mom, Lori, when she was eight, and never did it. That was in 1985! Ha! Well, better late than never. It’s beautiful. Merry Christmas!

  114. Merry Christmas! The book looks like exactly what I need to keep track of all my thread. I’ve been wanting to get a list together for when we travel and I stop at different shops. Will be putting it in my needful things. Thanks!
P.S. Tried posting earlier but the comment never showed?? Trying again.

  123. After reading so many of the posts, the consensus is that family together makes our holidays so special.! My son was not able to be home with us for Thanksgiving as he was on a deployment over in Turkey. He made it home last week safe and sound and all is good with the world….at least my world. Merry Christmas to you and yours!!!!

  124. This book is a wonderful idea! Hoping to do a road trip your way with some hooker/quilter gal pals in January or early Feb. 9 1/2 our drive so we’ll have to keep weather in mind. 129. I definitely need that book. You know I need your diagrams of stitches!! So I will be ordering if I don’t win! : )
What ISN’T the best part of Christmas? I love it all–the lights, the music, the warmth and good cheer, and even though I am not a shopper at any time of year, I actually enjoy the bustle in the stores at Christmas. Spending time in our homes with family is definitely a highlight, but most of all I love the reason behind it all–our Savior!

  130. I took a class with you in Bloomington last year and of colors don’t remember all of the info on the needles and thread. Loved the classes and your products!!

  131. This book is a great idea..I have been caught at shows not knowing what threads I should buy. My favorite part of Christmas is getting to spend time with out of town family that we don’t get to visit with very often.

  132. The best part of Christmas is being together as a family celebrating the reason for the season – Emanuel.

Since then, we’ve also lived in Georgia and now are in Colorado & I’ve taken my country look everywhere I’ve been. My favorite part of Christmas is Christmas evening, when everything has quieted down and I can relax, enjoy Christmas movies, stare at the tree & eat more goodies!

  135. The best part of Christmas this year will be seeing my son home on leave before he heads to South Korea for 1 to 2 years.

  136. Please hold my items until the end of the days of Christmas
Christmas in Australia we all ask for a cool day not to be 40 degrees C!
    No hope of snow here

    1. Lynne, you will need to contact the Shop for items to be held. This site yes done off site at our studio. Please contact them thru email or put in your Comment Section of your order that you would like it to you held. thank you jessica

  137. I love the celebrations with family. Even small things like going to dinner and the movies together. Having people we know n love.

  138. The best part of Christmas for me is seeing the excited faces on my grandchildren when they open their presents. Nothing better the the excitement they have. Maybe it’s because it reminds me of being little and remembering that excitement?!

  139. All parts of Christmas are special for the season. It is a festive time of the year. However, to me I cherish Christmas Eve church service singing Silent Night with candle light glows remembering Christmas pasts. Having received the essentials as a child had more meaning than the “buy it all” times we see today.

  140. Love how cute the little red truck i with the trees in the back! May have to borrow that idea… My favorite part of Christmas is when my daughter comes home. Because she is single and works in a mental health hospital, she works Christmas so someone else can have the day with their family. So she comes home between Thanksgiving and Christmas and we celebrate Christmas then.

  141. Christmas is always a special time at our house. Our family gets together including 15 grandchildren. A day of Faith, Fun, Food and Family. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all.

  145. Your house looks so warm and inviting, I love all the quilts.
I’m pretty set for Christmas, the house is decorated, shopping is done and I have some cookies to bake this week. I even bought some new games to play on Christmas Eve and day…we love playing games.
Your thread book is a great idea( I didn’t even know it was out there)! It sure beats that little slip of paper I put in my purse that I can never find and ending up forgetting at least one major color thread I need. Happy Christmas 🎄

  146. That little book looks like a gem, thanks for give away. My favorite thing about Christmas is baking with my grandchildren & daughter, the house is all decorated, we have Christmas music on and while we bake and sing we do a little dancing in between (grandchildren are 3 and 4). I printed out your cookie recipe and have it chilling in the fridge so later today we are going to bake your cookies, I will let you know how they turn out.

  148. Yeah! I am able to celebrate another year together with my husband. This will be 53 and I am so thankful God has allowed us these many years as one.

  149. The best part of Christmas is our Christmas Eve candlelight service. We are finally winding down and celebrating The Christ child’s birth. Every other year we have all of the kids here and enjoy homemade cinnamon rolls and hot chocolate on Christmas morning. This year we had them all for Thanksgiving and will only have our daughters family. Both kids are in college, so we will enjoy their Alstories. I love Christmas!!

  150. One of my favorite things about Christmas is getting out the decorations that have been in storage all year – that includes the tree ornaments, the Nativity set and the quilts. It is like I’m being acquainted with an old friend all over again.

Have a joyful Christmas🍪☕️

  162. The best part of Christmas to me is my kids coming home! What a helpful book this must be. I do need a way to keep up with which threads I have. 167. One of my favorite parts of Christmas is when late in the day my Christmas lights start to come on. Even though it gets dark so early in Iowa, it is a warm feeling when each timer comes on at its own time and within 10 minutes, the house is aglow in colorful lights!

  168. The best part of Christmas is spending the whole day with our children and grandchildren, and seeing the excitement in their faces when they finally get to open a gift that I made especially for them.

  169. Having family together is my favorite part of Christmas. Love Valdani for wool work. Could certainly use this. Thanks.

  170. So disappointed, tried to order the Valdani Thread Book just now for our Woolie Group and find that the offer had expired!! Sounded like a perfect gift!!!

  171. Christmas for me is not about the lights, nor the decorations, nor the awesome treats or beautifully wrapped presents under the tree. It is gathering with family and friends whom we love, to make special memories & cherish our time together; and on Christmas Eve, to open our bibles and take turns reading the scriptures about the coming to earth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Truly, it is all about Him!! HE.is the very best, most important part of Christmas!

  172. Your home is beautiful Lisa! The best part of Christmas is having both of our sons home at the same time. It doesn’t happen that much since they graduate from college and are out on their own with careers.

  173. What a nice book to keep all of our thread choices in order. I am one of those ladies that come in and not sure if I have that color! Thanks for sharing!

  174. The best part of Christmas is baking day with my daughters and grandchildren. Sour cream cookies and peanut butter balls are always a must with double batches of both. Your booklet is such a clever idea.

  181. Might be too late for a chance at a book but, here is my attempt. I can relate to not adding to the decorations, we just moved, again!

  182. The best part of Christmas is the anticipation our children have. From getting the Christmas tree the Saturday after Thanksgiving, getting out their advent calendars to be filled to countdown to the most wonderful day of the year. To checking the cupboard making sure there are enough sprinkles to decorate the cookies and drawing names to buy that special gift for their brother or sister. And we love to sing all the Christmas songs and watch our favorite Christmas movies, (we have lots of movie nights). Our children make Christmas the best part.

  183. Ah, Lisa — you must have heard me wishing for just such a book! Definitely on my list! All of Christmas is special to me, especially that sense of well being when all the family is home. Can’t beat it!

  184. The children are the best part of Christmas watching them and seeing eyes light up with all. Your book is on the list.

  185. The best of Christmas is through a child’s eyes. I give my grandchildren a nativity piece each year in their stocking, and recently a granddaughter smiling with delight, was wondering which piece she would receive this year. Makes all the work of the season worth it!

  186. What a wonderful book to have! I’m getting ready to start a wool applique project and this would be handy to keep up with my Valdani fibers. I love seeing my boys Christmas morning. They get so excited!

cocoa or coffee…love your fabrics and patterns. This little book would be wonderful to have! Merry Christmas!

  194. We always take some vacation at Christmas to go and visit our daughter’s family. It’s great to be there with the grandkids on Christmas morning!

  195. I love everything about Christmas, making gifts, baking, wrapping, watching the grad kids open their own special gifts with the gleam in their eyes., but I love most is when we all sit down at our table for dinner. I love the feel of us all together…….. Happy Hoildays! Thank you for your designs. LOVE them.

  196. I love everything about Christmas! I do have to say though that gathering with family and friends is the best. I wish you, your family, and the Primitive Gatherings staff a very Merry Christmas! Thank you for all you do for your customers! Hope you will share pics of your new home once you get moved in.

  197. I’m sure I will NEED this little book! Of course, my family is the best part of Christmas. One of our “traditions” is my husband and children “laughing” at me, because I always cry (happy tears) over some gift I receive.

  198. Family and Friends that is what I love about Christmas … and … Sugar….I love Sugar!!
Merry Christmas Lisa, Nick, your family and your wonderful, wonderful P.G. staff!!
I cherish this little book – thank you!

  200. Love the holidays with my 2 children and 3 grandchildren—and my 85 year old mother, who taught me everything I know about sewing and quilting!! Have been contemplating getting into wool applique so I think your book would be a great start!

  201. I love that green and red applique quilt. And Linda has an awesome talent with her quilting!! Beautiful decor, and I know you hate to move, but looks like you have plenty of design plans for the future. I like that you have chosen the new lighter tones of greys and blues, with a touch of that old yellow. I think you will be pleased!!

  202. Love all of your quilts and decorations. Those stockings are so cute. We had our family Christmas and our annual cookie-bake yesterday. My brother and his family go to their Florida home for Christmas, so Christmas day will be quiet and probably a day for stitching!

  203. This book looks like a great way to finally keep track of the Valdani! My favorite part of Christmas is having family together as that doesn’t happen as much as we would like.

  204. My favorite part of Christmas is having my whole family attend church with me on Christmas Eve. But seeing the wide eyes of my little grandchildren (ages 1,2,3) when they see the presents under the tree for the first time is a close second. Thanks for this opportunity to win a good way to keep track of my stitching.

  205. I’m looking forward to receiving this book. I would love to see a book where you illustrate most of your stitching techniques.

  206. The best part of my Christmas always starts on Christmas Eve when we go to church and celebrate the Birth of Jesus Christ.

  207. My favorite part of Christmas is being with my two teenagers! I wish I could stop time….I don’t want them to grow up.

  208. I am a very beginner stitcher, I bet these books would be very helpful. Thanks for the opportunity to win.
