Another give-away!!!

Hi All…Did you miss me? It has been what… 2-3 days since my last post?  I wish I could post on a regular basis more often…but I’m not Martha Stewart who has a person(s) in charge of her blog…only me…

I want to share something with you…Do you use Instagram or Facebook? FB owns Instagram so when I post to IG it automatically posts to FB..I love this…one stop posting…What I love about IG vs. blogging is thats it so easy to IG…it’s photos and a few words!!! we all love photos!!!! I Instagram almost everyday… so much more than I blog…so come on DO IT!! Use that smart phone of yours and sign up for IG go to the APP store.. its FREE, you will have 2 chances to WIN…I promise to still blog…when we have work to do and lots info to share…like our 12 Days of needful things…and give you more info…like directions here that I cannot do there…But I am there more than here…sorry if I’m confusing you…

Did I mention a give-away… I think this one is an awesome give-away!!!  Fabric that now one else will have…well maybe one other beside you and me…so that’s three of us…IMG_5147 (1)

Do you have any Snowman Gatherings 1 or 2 fabrics? Or both??? Remember I am moving…you seen the pics of the lakehouse… So I’m slowly going through my fabric collection…

Do you know that when we design MODA fabric we get about 100 different pieces of fabric to pick 40 out of?  So there are about 60 fabrics that never make it into the actual line…so what I’ve done is I cut up a bunch of snowman gatherings 2 that were technically never made… See these prints cut up here?IMG_5146 I bet they are not in your FQ bundle or other precuts! I cut these rare fabrics into 5″ and 2″ squares that I have added to this snowball quilt! I have two sets of about 60 5″ and 240 2″ squares to give away…I know this isn’t enough to make this quilt, but I want to give it to someone who has purchased these fabric lines and wants to add this to theirs to make this quilt…

So the pattern here is easy…I actually used a layer cake of SG1 and SG2 and then Lakeside Gatherings & Woven (FQ or F8 bundles can also be used)…I cut 2- 5″ squares plus 8-2″ squares from stacked layers…I then proceed to make the light/dark snowball blocks by stitching across the diagonal corners of the 2″ square that were placed RSTon all four corners of the 5″ squares. Remember to stitch dark 2″ on light 5″ and then reverse to stitch light 2″ on dark 5″…Simple…I then make nine patches with the snowball blocks…I pieced 30-9 patch/snowball blocks…6 rows of 5 blocks each…Here is a picture of the rows…IMG_456267 1/2″x 81″ which will be a nice lap/couch quilt, if not a twin size quilt.  1-10″ square = 2- 4 1/2″ finished snowball blocks or 126-10″ squares …So you need 3 layer cakes place 6 more 10″ squares to make this quilt the same size I did.

It was not my intention for this to be a selling post..but I know some of you will ask…yes, we still have some precuts of these lines…you also can use charm packs and mini charms…252-5″ charms & 1080 2″ squares.(mini charms can be cut down to 2″ & 4 mini charms packs to every charm pack you have) .I don’t know if we have 10 or 50 of anything, so first come first served… I just really wanted to give-away some rare fabric here. I know I give away lots of mini charms in my workshops!!!  SG2 LAYERCAKE  & LAKESIDE GATHERINGS LC  You can also check the CA store.  Primitive GatheringsCA  I think they even have some SG1 still there, it may be easier to call CA  951-304-9787.  I didn’t give the stores a heads up here…so I hope I don’t start mass chaos!

One set I will give away on Instagram/Facebook.. The other here…

So tell me WHY I should send these to you! Remember to make it good…these fabrics are extremely rare and only you and I and one other person in the world will own them!!!

I love this time between Christmas and New Years…I don’t get to cook often and when I do I love to try something different each time…I tried this Mexican casserole yesterday…I made a few changes as for some reason I know what will taste better…so here’s the new recipe…

Mexican Chicken Bake

2 cups of cooked brown rice-  (measure 1 cup uncooked rice to make 2 cooked rice)

1 rotisserie chicken or about lb of cooked chicken breast cut up

2- 14.5oz cans of fire roasted diced tomatoes

14.5oz can of black beans-drained

1 red and 1 green pepper, diced up

1 cup of frozen corn

1 Tablespoon Cumin

1 Tablespoon Chili powder

4 garlic cloves, minced

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon pepper

2 cups of shredded cheese

sour cream-I like to use plain greek yogurt too.

taco sauce/hot sauce for garnish and extra flavor

Spread cooked rice on bottom of greased/sprayed 9×13 pan.  IMG_5124

Shuck chicken meat off of the rotisserie chicken.

In a large mixing bowl, combine all ingredients except cheese.  Spread over rice.IMG_5125

Cover with tinfoil and bake at 375 degrees for 45 min.

Spread cheese on top and bake for another 15 min at 300 degrees.IMG_5137

Serve with sour cream/greek yogurt and hot sauce/taco sauce.

my best…LB

I would like to enter the giveaway. I do have some of the line but not for myself. I have a friend who loves blue and is so giving that I purchased the line to make something for her. Now I know what to make and it would become even more personalized if it included fabric that was unique. My Friend, Becky is always doing for her family and friends but does not have anything hanging on her quilt racks for herself. I would love to be able to do this for her. Love your blog and love seeing your booth in Madison, Wisc.

Why should I win these lovely blocks? Well I am a Snowman Gathering HOARDER…yes, I have charm packs and some yardage of both but love it too much to cut! So I look and fondle…look and fondle…IF I were to win I would add them to the mix and SOMEDAY I would make a gorgeous quilt…like your SNOWBALL QUILT! Gorgeous quilt! This is the PERFECT QUILT to make using these fabrics!! Then I could look and fondle as as I snuggle under THIS quilt! Now that just sounds down right… naughty! Thanks for the chance! :o))

Okay. So now I have new cutting boards, lots of notions, a new light box AND a Juki. I think I am in “need” of this fabulous fabric .😄😊😌. Have decided that my crazy world of 2014 and 2015 shall give way to a more settled 2016 and quilting will be my anchor.. ( How many people do you know have remarried to the “greatest” at the age of 67!?
Happy, happy New Year to some of my favorite creative people!

    December 28, 2015 at 9:30 am

OK so here is my reason Please please please please please please please!!!!! I have purchased over 20 yards of the little snowman face and 20 yards of the snowmen fabric – everytime I make it to your store I purchase some and from the store around us (Ben Franklin). When I find fabric that I fall in love with I make sure that I have lots of it!!!! I never want to run out of it – yes I do use it I am not a hoarder (even though my husband thinks I am heehee). I love your fabrics!! Thank you. Have a wonderful Happy New Year!

    Hi Lisa,
Thanks for such a super awesome giveaway. I don’t have a ‘good’ reason why you should award me the rare fabric. I’ll just say I would be so honored to have it. I know this may sound ‘odd’ but. . . I just found out about your store, blogs, etc about 1.5 years ago. Since then, I’ve followed your ‘stuff’ because it is the primitive style I adore. Guess I was living under a rock – ha! Anyway, i would be honored to win. Happy New Year.

    December 28, 2015 at 9:33 am

What a special treat to share! You should pick me because I won’t pet it and just stick it in my collection, but will make it a priority in 2016 🙂 Then next December, when I get a few weeks off, I’ll quilt it. These are my colors! Pretty please?? Thanks for the chance, Lisa! Happy New Year to you and yours!

    December 28, 2015 at 9:33 am

Snowman Gatherings is one of my all time favorite fabric lines! I have four charm packs and various other half yard cuts lovingly stored waiting for that perfect project. Lakeside Gatherings was my passion last year and the yellow in that collection makes me swoon! Snowman II made me so happy to be able to add to my Primitive Gatherings stash (along with Holiday Gatherings and others)! And lastly you never make it to the Atlanta shows, you always send your fabulous team but then your southern fans don’t get to meet you! Thanks for sharing your time and talent with all of us!

  21. December 28, 2015 at 9:34 am

Why I should win these fabrics? Because I never win anything! I am sure others can say that too. I think it would be a rare treasure to own fabric that only 2 other people own. What an heirloom that would be! Someone will be very lucky. Thank you for being so generous.

  22. 24 Linda H
    December 28, 2015 at 9:35 am

Your casserole looks as great as the quilt. Am sitting at home watching a blizzard in sw Iowa and would love a new project to get these old bones moving even if I have a closet full of wool projects (am working on crazy table runners) . Have a great New Year.

    December 28, 2015 at 9:36 am

The fabrics need to be in Sunny California where we dream about the snowmen we can never have in our backyard. I would protect them..give them a proper label to honor their rarity… and even breakdown and join Instagram to share the photo of the final result!

  24. 26 Connie Spalding
    December 28, 2015 at 9:37 am

Because…the fabrics are beautiful, rare and it would be a personal gift from you! I already have some fat quarters and would be able to add these fabrics to a project! Thanks for the chance to win…awesome “gift-away!”

  25. 27 Cathy Rasmussen
    December 28, 2015 at 9:37 am

I do have your snowman line but not for myself. My friend Becky loves blue and snowmen but is too busy doing for her family and friends to complete projects for herself. She has quilt racks made by her husband with nothing on them. I would love to make a unique throw for one of those racks just for her. Her birthday is in March and with your easy pattern I could get it done. Wish me luck!!!

  26. December 28, 2015 at 9:39 am

Why me , well that is easy because I love these fabrics and right now the snow is blowing rather fierce outside my window and making a quilt with these gorgeous fabrics would be a dream come true 😉

  27. December 28, 2015 at 9:41 am

Because my birthday is Thursday ~ 31 December! Jackie Hale

  28. December 28, 2015 at 9:42 am

You should really send these rare & precious Snowman Gathering fabrics to me because they’ll be the only new snowmen I’ll see here in GA this winter. It’s in the mid 70’s & has rained for days on end. We needed flip flops & fans on Christmas day instead of scarves & gloves. Not that I mind warm weather, but mosquitos on Christmas day…really?

    December 28, 2015 at 9:42 am

Pick me, Pick me, Pick me! There isn’t a piece of PG fabric that I don’t LOVE! These rare PG fabrics need to get cozy with all my other PG precuts & yardage so I can make quilts & wallhangings for my family. It was only recently that I found your blog & started to follow you but I have learned so much about how to piece accurately & received lots of inspiration! Thank you for sharing your talents with us!

  30. December 28, 2015 at 9:42 am

PICK ME! PICK ME!!! Lol! I should have that fabric to make lots of one-of-a-kind, impossible to reproduce, jewelry! Then lots of people could have a little bit of it! Yep,…sounds like a good plan to me!

  31. 33 Diane Emanuelson
    December 28, 2015 at 9:42 am

I love your fabric designs and everything you do. I now find myself single working two jobs. I have very little time to see but I do when I can. I save my money to buy your fabric. I bought my self a light box you put on the 12 Days of Christmas as a Christmas present to me. Thank you for all you do to inspire so many including myself. I don’t have either of your Snowman fabric but I hope soon.

  34. 36 Nancy
    December 28, 2015 at 9:45 am

Welllll – I don’t deserve to win. I have too much fabric. 🙂 BUT, I used some up the last two months so I have a little hole. I love anything set on point, and that first picture of the snowball block is great. Now don’t give away too much for your move or later you will be looking for that piece you know you have and just don’t can’t seem to find. I find that’s a good time for rearranging so you REALLY can’t find what you’re looking for next time. 🙂

I love everything you do and would love to have something unique of yours. plus, it is freezing rain outside – I drove to work and my boss is on vacation calling me every five minutes to make sure that I have more than enough work to get done. He doesn’t have the holiday spirit.

WOW, Lisa!!! This is amazing!! I have some of your first two SG fabrics! This would be amazing!! And I would make up your beautiful snowball quilt! What a great give-away! I REALLY hope I can win!!

  38. 40 Carolyn M
    December 28, 2015 at 9:46 am

You should pick me because I am a collector of fine fabrics & antique quilts. I have been a collector of fabric since I was 7 & I would be very privileged to have this one of a kind to use with the rest of the line & I would make it my first project to sew on my new machine.🎄😀

  39. December 28, 2015 at 9:48 am

I should win because I LOVE your Snowman Gatherings lines, I have fabrics and precuts from both, AND I actually use them. There are two little finished pieces made from these fabrics that will go up in my house next week, and there are three more flimsies made from these fabrics that are in the queue to get quilted. My snowman fabrics are getting used and I’m needing to replenish the supply. Would love to include some rare prints in the mix. Besides, if I win I would send you some soap. There, is that reason enough? Except you probably know that I would be happy to send you soap either way, so it was a weak argument, I know. : )

I love snowmen. I love your fabrics. I have some that you gave us in class last spring. So I need this to go with the other you gave me. Please and thank you! Happy New Year!

  42. December 28, 2015 at 9:51 am

I follow you on IG. Now I need to look at IG each day. I would love to win rare Snowman Gatherings fabric squares to add to what I have now. When I win I will create a quilt. Maybe not the snowball quilt you show, but something else fun.

  43. 45 Donna Nelson
    December 28, 2015 at 9:52 am

I love the Snowman Gatherings fabrics, and I was thinking I should make my mother a lap quilt for her 90th birthday in February. I might be able to get that done with this pattern. (I’m a very slow quilter) Plus, since she lives in Florida, she never gets to see snowmen anymore. And it would be a great excuse to buy more. I think I will go sign up for Instagram now. Thank you for all your hard work.

  44. 46 Susan J
    December 28, 2015 at 9:52 am

I have both of your other fabrics-who could pass these up? You are so sweet to offer a give away-would LOVE to make this quilt.

Can’t wait to make your casserole recipe too, looks delicious.

    December 28, 2015 at 9:53 am

I would love to win this fabric. I have the mini charms, the charm (5 inch) pack ,a layer cake and a little bit of yardage. I have it on the top of my to do pile after Christmas and it is going to be a quilt for —-ME! So excited to make a quilt for myself in fabric that I love. I have made the mini charms up in hexis. I have been having fun trying to decide what I am going to do with them. I think this is my favorite of your fabric lines – not just because you are giving some away. That’s why I decided this has to be for me.
I really enjoyed the 12 Days of Christmas! I look forward to that every year.

  48. 50 Sharon A.
    December 28, 2015 at 9:54 am

I have quite a bit of both Snowman lines but had shoulder surgery on my dominate arm and have not been able to rotary cut anything since Late August. So I can only work with precuts so far and these fabrics of yours would be wonderful to get me started on a quilt that is pretty much ready to sew. Thanks for the giveaway, Lisa. Love seeing the pics of your new home!

    December 28, 2015 at 9:54 am

I am going to make that casserole with leftover turkey!
O.K. that snowball quilt is the perfect combo for my husband…. who loves the color blue and snow!
I would like to make it for him in gratitude for the comfort and love he has brought to my life. We both lost our spouses 6 years ago to cancer but have started a new life together. I made him the Gallery of Stars quilt with fabric from your store back in 2012… time for another one.
May all of your wishes come true in 2016.

You had me at Moda! Love fabric by Moda. My friends laugh at me cause I don’t care about label clothing but I am a fabric snob. You can see and feel the difference between good quality fabric. If you pick me I am.going to share with my quilting friend Chrissy. We will passed it back and forth to see what each of us will make. I use the fabric (nickname is zoom zoom) so I will.post up what we make.
Thank you for the recipe. Will sub the chicken with my leftover Turkey!
    Happy sewing

  52. December 28, 2015 at 10:01 am

Of course I should have these yummy fabrics! I made the teeny snowman quilt using the layer cake and have a lot leftover. Those itty bitty flying geese did not use up much! Happy 2016,

I have been collecting this line form a local shop and have fat quarters and would love to win more so I can make a nice quilt for next winter. I am always making things for others and don’t have any quilts for christmas, so this year I am going to take the time to make quilts so I have some for next Christmas.

    December 28, 2015 at 10:09 am

Always have room for new fabric. I would love to make this quilt so it would be a great addition to what I already have.

  59. December 28, 2015 at 10:10 am

I am a Southern CA girl. We do not have snow here, but my father, who passed away 2 years ago December, was from Minneapolis, so I have heard many stories of how life was growing up in the snow, and walking to and from school in the freezing snow. If I won this fabric, I would make a quilt in memory of my father and all of my Minnesota family. They are the best a family could ask for.

  60. 62 Marlene Leonardo
    December 28, 2015 at 10:12 am

Yes! I did miss your blogs. For a few days after the 2nd day I kept checking, even after the whole thing was over I kept checking. My should I win the freeby fabric…because I love the snowman prints…I bought the BOM Warm Winter Blessings and the extra fabric would be great for shams or pillows. How exciting to have that extra fabric that no one else (almost) has. Have a very MERRY and HAPPY New Year!!! That recipe sounds great! I’ll have to try it.

  61. 63 Nancy Gervais
    December 28, 2015 at 10:13 am

I am working on Mr. Snowman right now! My grandson name is Charlie… Which fits perfectly! That alphabet is amazing! ( directions were great and well written) I love these fabrics! The kit is very generous, so the leftovers will be good start for your snowball quilt! I have a snowball quilt in reds and creams…but I am a Blue Girl at heart! Even though we have moved to Northwest…least for awhile (husband is in Air Force), we are born and raised Minnesota people and will always love the snow! Nothing like cozing up on a cold winter’s night!

I have yardage, and jelly roll, and 5″ squares of both Snowman lines. My daughter is a Christmas freak – starts decorating in October. This is one line of fabric she loves (she is not a quilter, and very picky to make something for) So far I have made her a table topper, but would love to make her a quilt for the season. So, ok, my granddaughter is not here, but I will try the instragram ap – which me luck. (She got me a selfie stick for Christmas and has to give instruction. hehe). Wonderful Christmas posts – you never cease to amaze and educate me.

I am SUCH a huge fan of this fabric line. I have the snowman gathering 1 and 2 and have purchased all the wool for the warm winter blessings but haven’t started it. I have been waiting and asked myself, “why are you waiting?” NOW I know, it’s so I would have something different from everyone else, this extra special fabric!!! I love this fabric line. This would be soooo very special to win this extra special gift.

I have even added this fabric line in my other quilts because I love it so much. Like I said HUGE fan. Thank you for what you do. You give inspiration with your wonderful creations!

This is perfect timing! I am gathering fabric to do the Mr. Snowman pattern that you designed and didn’t buy the kit because I want to make it my own…I’m swapping the white fabrics of the snowman for tans for a more primitive look and these fabrics would only add to the personalization! Thanks for the chance to win!

  67. December 28, 2015 at 10:20 am

How about because I NEEEEED them! There are just some things that need to come and live at my house! And as I type this we are getting 12 inches of snow today…..so I guess I better make me some snow ball blocks….say that fast 5 times!

I did not know Moda produced more fabrics than what came out in the line. This is fascinating nod would love it if you shared more of your quilt/fabric design adventures. I do not have any of the snowman gatherings line but would love the mini charms to make a special little quilt. I do collect snowman. I just ordered the 21/2×21/2 ruler to do a small quilt with mini charms. Thank you for the fun opportunity!!

Hi Lisa, your gatherings lines reminds me of my Minnesota roots and growing up with the snowy winters. I don’t miss them now in Ca but I reminence (sp) of those cold winter days often. Love both of your stores and your fabric lines. I do have some of #1 line…❄️❄️❄️

Snowmen are rare in the part of the NW I live in so the only ones I have are in fabric or a doll. Adding these to my collection would be wonderful.

Gorgeous fabrics would inspire me to get creative in 2016 – always start the year with a fresh project!

Thank you Lisa for this wonderful opportunity. Love the snowman snowball quilt and would enjoy making it. I have some of the snowman gatherings first collection, haven’t collected from the 2nd collection yet. I also have some of the Lakeside gatherings fabric so a good start towards this beautiful quilt. I work on community service quilts every week but have to admit if I won some of this fabric, this one would be for me. Would fit perfectly in my family room.

You’re right IG is easy! I started following you before quilt market last year. I couldn’t be there but I could get a peek of what’s new through IG posts.
I just prepped my snowman gatherings 2 fabric before Christmas. I wanted to be ready for a winter project. I would love to win your “2 of a kind” fabric! Winters here in WI are long and the more fabric the bigger and longer the project can be. It helps the time go faster until warmer weather.
Thanks for the recipe. We’re big fans of Mexcian food in our house so I will definitely try your dish.

I bought the kit to make Mr.Snowman. It will be for my first grandchild who will arrive in April! I am so excited and have many other quilts to make for him. I actually have the snowball quilt pattern taken from a magazine waiting to be started. Love the simple design and all the blues in your fabric line. I also wanted to say that I love your accounts of the progress of your house, pretty colors and I bet it will be fabulous when you are finished.

I have made several of the patterns that came out with both the SG1 and SG2. I LOVE the lines. You always do such a great job with the pattern and scale and colors. I have been trying to straighten and really have no need of more fabric. But when has need ever played a part in what we buy and make. I have always enjoyed your talent and your patterns are very well written. You are an inspiration. Susan W. in Utah

OH MY! I would LOVE to win the fabric give-away because I have been collecting Snowman Gatherings charm packs since they first came on the market. I am saving up to make a queen size quilt and almost used them this year to make a jacket instead because it is taking me so long to get all the packs I need. I am up to seven packs now and the rare addition would be wonderful. If I do not win I will just have to keep collecting.
Who knows maybe I will be making the quilt with S. G. X-XI! Do you think I should arrange the blocks in chronological order????
Thank you so much and have a Happy New Year!

What a coincidence! A couple of days ago, I found some Snowman Gatherings 1 in my stash. I had bought it to make pillow cases for our bed but had forgotten about it. I made them up on Boxing Day and they turned out so nice. Now it would be great to make a quilt to match. I love all your fabric. Its hard to find here in Ontario, Canada.

I love the soft blue colors in Snowmen Gathering, line 1 and have a Layer cake waiting for an idea to use it. The pattern for the quilt you featured would make good use of the layer cake with the additional of the “rare” fabrics you are offering to giveaway. The part of the country where I live never has enough snow to make an outdoor snowman. Thanks, Lisa, for the chance in the giveaway.

I am a NY transplant living in Florida. Cute, quality snowman fabric is hard to come by. None of the quilt shops in my area carried snowman gatherings. I ordered some from your WI store and then bought more when I flew to WI this past June. I made my new daughter-in-law a quilt from it for her October birthday and I’d like to make myself one. You are beyond generous with your time and talents….thank you for that. And if I don’t win, it’s still nice to be able to try:) Happy 2016!!!!

I have a design for a winter quilt almost done. I have a snowmen family (or should I say snow people) tucked in for a winter snooze, but I have been contemplating what design to use for the quilt body. The snowballs would be perfect. It is a twin bed size so snowballs out of your fabric would be perfect. It is for a 7 year old girl who loves snowmen.

Ok you said you, I and only one other person would own this. I have the fabric line, it makes me happy. ( I think I have most of your fabric lines and used them in many of my favorite quilts. I like being one of few. I am a WAC, I served in the U.S. Army from 1974-1979 and am now a disabled veteran who quilts for solace and peace. I see your recipe is Mexican bake and I am 100% Mexican American. I think I have it all covered. I would love to win this unique collection of fabrics.

The ladies in my quilting bee have been collecting blue, cream and tan fabrics for years. We have yet to decide on a pattern, but keep collecting. This snowball quilt would be a perfect way to show them off. Having rare Snowman Gatherings included would be a huge bonus!!! Happy Holidays, Lisa!

Snowman gatherings is the fabric line I have used for two quilts recently. Blues being out of my color wheel but using them has inspired me to think out of the box. Both were gifts, both well accepted. I love these fabric lines as well as all of your fabrics/wool. I have leftover fabrics, not enough to make anything with so if I was chosen, I would put these fabrics to good use combining them with what I already have to make another beautiful quilt.

I love the snowman gatherings line of fabric. Two years ago I made 14 table runners for family using this fabric. I have some leftover yardage and have bought more from this line. I really love it. I can’t really say why I should have bonus fabric over someone else other than it would bring a smile to my face and cheer to my heart. and motivate me to get back to quilting. I am a recent widow as of October 4th, 2015, and I have too many tears.

With the last name Snow, of course I’d love to win the snow orphans. And I deserve something wonderful this Christmas, as I survived a knee replacement in September and managed to pull of a family Christmas while in the process of becoming mobile, so that my disappearing husband could see hjs kids and grandkids while he still just might recognize them. OMG I would be the luckiest quilter in the world to win these. I have two towers one of each of the snowman . Then we bought 60 or so of the candies last year and made table runners for our guild Xmas party. They were a big hit. The only promblem we forgot to keep enough for ourselves . So to have fabric that no one else has would make mine special. Then a lap quilt too, to lucky. You have a Happy New Year.

I’d really love to win these fabrics for my 13 year old daughter. She was so fond of snowman gatherings 1 that I bought her a mini charmpack last year. With that in hands, she started some stitcheries and framed them with the mini’s. Then she decided she wanted a full, bedsized quilt, so thanksgiving 2014 I ordered lots of fabric from your webshop. She worked hard and made a beautiful quilt. She entered it in the Open European Quilt Championship in Maastricht, the Netherlands, and she won an award of merit! I’m so proud of her!! We bought some SG 2 last month, but I’m sure she would appreciate such a gift!! If you like, we can send you a picture of the quilt.
Lots of love from the Netherlands!!

What an awesome giveaway! I didn’t realize so many designs were made for a fabric line. If I won I’d make a quilt for my son. He is in the Marine Corps and next May he will be leaving for his third deployment. I’d love to make him a lap quilt that he could take with him to snuggle under and feel our arms around him. I’d be using this wonderful fabric for my wonderful son. How perfect would that be!

Why should Lisa send these fabrics to me? Well, I love them. I wish I could tell you about all the tragedy in my life, sickness, death, pain and suffering. But except for some financial struggles due to the California housing market, I’ve been blessed with fairly good health and a great husband late in life. I will say that he goes to work every day to a job he hates so we can pay the bills. Love this man. If I won, in going to tell him its a sign that he will be able to find a job he loves, which I hope will encourage him. So maybe pick me as I can give my cutie husband a bit of new years encouragement. Thanks Lisa.

Blue is my favorite color so, of course, I have some SG1 and SG2. I’ve used some in a scrappy quilt but have plenty left to make the snowball quilt. And how special it would be to have fabric in it that only you and I have. When making the same quilt as my friends, I’ve always changed up something to make it a little different…to make it mine. Being able to include the fabrics that you designed but weren’t in the final line would make it just that. Thanks for your giveaway.

Oh, I really don’t deserve those beautiful fabrics, even though I haven’t really been naughty. I just really want them. Let’s be honest! But I do promise to make something nice for someone who does deserve them. I’ll just love them while I babysit them and cut them and sew them back together for awhile. Happy New Year!

    Lisa,
That looks like a wonderful give-a-way and I appreciate the fact that you are doing it in a way that I can also enter. We are seniors and do not really use face book nor do we even have a cell phone! I love your fabrics and all the tips, clues and ideas that you so generously share with us quite often AND I think that recipe looks SUPER. I can’t wait to try it for my wonderful husband. Thank you.

So I collect old and odd things – vintage machines, thread on wooden spools, scrap bags left by elderly deceased aunts, and the like. I’m just about finished with the wool appliqué blocks from your Words to Live By kit. Those rare and special fabrics are treasures I would love! Pick me! Pick me!

I bought the table runner kit with the snowmen on the ends because I loved the fabric. Since I haven’t done it yet, it would be so easy to add these extra fabrics in. Love the whole line. I have done a block of the week and am currently doing a block of the month. Thanks for the chance.

    December 28, 2015 at 1:29 pm

I would loved to be considered for this give away. I have purchased a lot of this fabric and am currently making a block of the month out of this fabric. I purchased more of this fabric when I was at a retreat in Wisconsin in September. I am always amazed at Lisa’s creativity and color palettes. I would love to make this quilt with original fabrics that very few people have. I make quilts for Christmas gifts for family members. I got my live for quilt from my Grandmother. She would have loved all the new quilting fabric and all the gadgets that you can now days.
I started a quilt with my grandmother years ago and did not finish it until years later. I gave it to my oldest daughter when she got married. I would love to use this fabric be able to make a one of a kind quilt for another one of my children. I have 5 kids so have plenty of need for many quilts for children and grand children. Thanks for sharing these fabrics for someone.

Lisa, I made a Churn Dash quilt for a friend and used many of the snowman gathering fabrics in the quilt. It was just navy and cream. I would love to have these fabrics to make a snowball quilt. I have not made one. I am even willing to split the prize with another lucky reader. I follow you daily, and love your work. Thanks for the delicious recipe and the chance to win. 🙂

OMG! I would love to get those! I have jelly rolls, charm packs and miscellaneous fat quarters of all of your lines! I love the creative ideas that you come up with. These extra pieces would be a great addition to my collection, and I definitely love the pattern you have provided!! Heartfelt thanks for all you do!

    Dear Lisa,
Why should you “pay it forward” to me? Well, wouldn’t it be wonderful if I then would “pay it forward”? How would I do it? I would make something lovely to keep my mom warm and cozy in the Primitive Gatherings tradition! She is moving in with my husband and me this year, and I have a room to decorate for her. She wants tans, creams, and blues! Seriously? YES! So what better to do with my large collection of Snowman Gatherings neutrals than to add your rare fabrics? Rare fabrics for a rare lady, my mom!
    Thanks for reading,
    Sincerely,
    Carol

  157. December 28, 2015 at 2:08 pm

What an awesome offering! I also have pieces from most of your fabric lines and have done quite a number of your patterns . . . I love them all :0)) As a pattern designer, I use bits and pieces of almost everything in all of my various patterns. Your color combinations are fantastic and they are quite often a jumping off point for a creation that is stuck in my head – thank you for inspiring me (and lots of others I’m sure!).

Plus, my home is very eclectic with antiques, and one of a kind creations. What a “perfect home” it would be for one of your one of a kind fabric collections that I would make into a special quilt to display with my other cherished positions.

Wow! What an thrill it would be to win this fabric. This year I have a plan to do 12 small quilts for my dining room walls after I paint it a I have already just about narrowed it down to snowflake gardens for January. This fabric would help out to complete this (I know you are saying why should I give her the fabric when she is going to buy it anyway) Just know, this would help me out and I would be thrilled. When I took a workshop from you when you came to Cincinnati in August I did win one of those mini charms that night when you visited our quilt guild. I was so excited. You would have thought I won gold. Here is one more thing I want to ask of you – I have asked numerous times and leave everyone stumped. YOu passed around a scissor keeper made of wool for the 5 in. Dovo scissors. I hollered out to you where do I get that pattern and you hollered back in my next book. Your next book has come out and it is not in there. I got a gift of the 3 1/2 in. scissors for Christmas and a gift card and I plan to use it for the 5 inch dovos. Can you help me out there. So if I can find where to purchase the pattern for that scissor keeper I will consider myself a winner. And yes, I do miss your blogs. Would love to read one every day but do understand. I don’t have a smart phone and we do not do facebook in our home so hope you can keep your blog going.

Lisa, just when I think “wow how can Lisa be more generous” you post this. I’ve been following you on Instagram for awhile but I haven’t really figured it out completely. I’ve got a little bit from both SG1 and SG2 because I love snowmen and I’ve been wondering what to make with them now I know a “snowball” quilt! I would love to add some of the ones from the original run to my collection. Also, thank you for the casserole it actually looks like something I can accomplish… Sending you hugs and I’ll see you at Road to CA… Liz

Oh this is the cutest quilt! Love the fabrics! I know that I don’t need another project, nor am I low on my stash of fabrics, but the idea of having some “one of a kind” fabric is super cool! I would be nice and share with a special quilting friend of mine. She would be very surprised. She is always the first to get quilting projects completed. I, on the other hand, take forever.

  167. 169 Cecilia
    December 28, 2015 at 2:55 pm

I should get this because I love snowmen and snowballs! Plus, after babysitting 2 of my grandchildren, I came down with strep throat and was sick over Christmas! Doesn’t that make you feel sorry for me? 😊

  168. December 28, 2015 at 2:56 pm

Why should I be one of only three people to have these? Let’s see, I’m an extremely rare person as I am only one of twelve people to have my rare birth defect. Being such makes me as rare as these fabrics so I think they would be a perfect fit with me. I have purchased both Snowman Gatherings collections and am hoping there will be a number III. Can you tell I fell in love with them the instant I saw them. I am also currently working on the Fat Quarter Shop’s 2015 Designer Mystery BOM that features Snowman Gatherings II and have enough left over fabric to combine with these for a quilt.

I’m a huge Snowman Gatherings fan and having never released fabrics would be like a Star Wars fan getting the original prototype of the Millennium Falcon model that was used in the first Star Wars or a Marilyn Monroe fan being gifted the dress she wore when she sang Happy Birthday to JFK.

I do love your blogs but understand your time restraints. I don’t know how you get done what you do. I would love to have your fabric but I know I’m not any more deserving than any one else. I did make a hunters star with the snowman gathering I and put a flying geese border on it. It is hanging in my local quilt shop. Everyone liked it so much they did a class and now they are doing another class. Have a great New Years and blessings in the new year.

Is there a reward for the most honest reply? The reason I should win it is because I absolutely love when somebody says “where did you get that?!” because it’s not something everyone has or could find. especially amongst my other primitive gatherings stalker friends. I would make them beg a little bit and then I would share.

I already have some of the line that I routinely pet every time I “reorganize” my sewing space after a quilt is done and the room looks like it was ransacked! If I won this I could actually roll around on the floor in all that loveliness. I would however need help getting up, LOL. Not very graceful, plus I have a balance disorder. Would give me an excuse to stay on the floor and not have to explain 🙂

Wow Lisa, you’re looking good ~ your quilt is a real winner. I have some of your SG1 and a bit of SG2, so it would be great to own these extras you’re speaking of to make a totally unique quilt! My younger son’s birthday is coming up soon and since he was a ‘winter born’ babe it would be so neat to make a proper snowman gatherings quilt for him to snuggle under after he gets home from work. That would be an amazing win/win for me.
Thanks so much and your lakeside home is looking so perfect!

Love both your Snowman Gatherings I and II lines – so much so that I have been known to hoard some even though my sisters and I have made your snowmen table runners and snowflake garden quilt. We would love to add some of the samples that didn’t make the cut (other than your physical cutting of the fabrics) to the stash we have left to each make a snowball quilt wall hanging. Your sample is gorgeous. Thanks for always sharing your imagination and creativity. Happy New Year – looking forward to new projects from Primitive Gatherings in 2016.

I am not a collector of many things, but a lover of rare, one of a kind things. I have never been one that had to have things just because others did. I have never made an entire snowball quilt—just parts for other designs. I am currently out keeping score on the golf course to spend time with Hubby. We are in Kona, truly enjoying a needed break from work!! Thanks for all the fun kits you design, have really gotten into wool applique with the last SBOW. The photo in your post caught my eye immediately, and when I saw that it was made with Snowman Gatherings II, I knew this was a project I have to do, I bought a bundle of Sniwman Gatherings II just last week. The special fabrics would really make my quilt special.

A fun quilt, a great recipe and a giveaway all in one post!!! I am lucky enough to visit the Wisconsin shop on a regular basis. This year was my first time at the warehouse sale. That will be on the calendar next year! I especially enjoyed the scrap bags and kits (I love the variety it provides) that I was able to purchase. These fabrics would be the ULTIMATE in variety since they are a very limited edition. Thank you for all that you share and a very happy 2016 to you.

I should definitely win the fabrics, they are the color scheme I like to always have on hand.
Being from Manitowoc and now in Tampa, I can’t come in as after as I’d like, so I shop at PG on-line and have blindly bought fat quarters and asked the girls to pick 10 or so in gray. I have always been so pleased with their random choices.
    I need more, more, more

Dear Lisa, I would love for you to award your wonderful, rare Snowman Gatherings fabric to my dear friend Felice Gokey. She lives here in Florida and has made me a new fan of yours. She told me how generous and talented you are. I referred to Primitive Gatherings as her “Mecca.” In June she invited me to join her on a “field trip” to Wisconsin to visit your shop. She & I were so overwhelmed, but had a great time exploring and shopping in your store. I just think she is a great, generous and talented person. Thanks for all you do=:)

I bought a Snowman Gathering fat quarter bundle, and made a quilt, which I love and is on my bed now. I did not use all of the fat quarter bundle, and would love to have more fabric to make another quilt! I would like to make a quilt for my niece, Amber, who cleans for me. I am disabled and cannot do the housework myself, so Amber comes on her day off and cleans for me. Thank you for the giveaway!!

Snowman Gatherings 1 was one of my all time favourites so I still have a box full it. I don’t need any more as I have lots but just wanted to say that I really like your snowball quilt and what a nice record of all those fabrics you have in that quilt. Very nice.

  226. December 28, 2015 at 8:15 pm

Well why wouldn’t a ‘fabricholic’ like me want these fabrics…especially the unique limited addition fabrics. Ian so curious to see the fabrics that didn’t make the cut.

Why me? Because it would be a beautiful reminder to me of where my quilting began. Several years ago I happened upon your site quite by accident. I started looking around and actually spent many hours on your site looking at everything. When I finally decided I better get to bed that night I couldn’t sleep because I was so pumped about making a quilt. I made my first quilt two days later and as they say, the rest is history. And all because of a chance visit to a site that I wasn’t even looking for. Thank you for all you do in the quilting world. You touch more lives than you know.

Oh my, what an awesome gift for someone… Well, lets see, I have all of Snowman Gatherings II and most of Snowman Gatherings (well, technically I have it all since I have several charm packs and 2 mini charms, but not yardage of everything) and most of Lakeside (all conversationals in all colors plus a few others in yardage & charm pack and mini) and all of the conversationals from Seasonal LIttle Gatherings, all colors of the sheep from Old Glory gatherings…..I think I have every conversational you’ve ever done plus lots of companion fabrics for most lines. I post about your lines on my blog , regularly–I also have them all on 3 X 5 inch cards: 2 1/2″ squares sewed on with line name (and pattern #), your name, Primitive Gatherings, Moda and year (I have to guess on some years.) Which brings to mind–could you print the years for each of your lines one of these days! What a treat to have some of these not actually printed for sale.
PS Christmas post on my blog has pics of many of the Seasonal Little Gatherings (but not all that I have!) and a couple of pics of Snowman Gatherings (both) http://ozinc.blogspot.com/

  244. December 29, 2015 at 2:21 am

So I think I will use the sympathy card now, last year my life changed dramatically, I was feeling great I went for a routine checkup with my oncologist since I had been treated for a lymphoma two years prior, and my cancer had reoccurred and my only option since I had received a prior round of chemo was to enroll in a clinical trial that will last for two and a half years, the first six months I underwent chemo every four weeks and had a three day course, now it is one day every eight weeks. I had to quit my job as a nurse, I have had to make dramatic changes in my lifestyle, I was very sick, tired and also had the shingles because my immune system is shot. I have always enjoyed piecing, I have dabbled in long arming but have decided that my passion is piecing and hand sewing, I feel like I have stalked you for the last couple of years, I love your designs, i love your fabric, I love the honesty and strength you exhibit in your blogs, I love every picture you post on Instagram, I love how generous you are with yourself and that your business is your extended family. I have jokingly mentioned in your needlefull blog comments that I would love to be a “stitcher” for you but second best thing would be to win some fabric from your rare collection that I could use. This is going to be my year to do some serious piecing since my treatments have spaced out and I am feeling better. I have decided I need to make all my kids a quilt and one of my kids loves snowman so this would be perfect. I also have some great new “toys” to use from your needful list. So thank you for this wonderful give away and for everything you do to make the quilting world a better, very fun hobby.

There is no quilt shop in my area. I must order any of the newer lines. This would be a TOTAL surprise as I haven’t seen any of the SG lines in person. Thanks for the chance and recipe😊

  252. December 29, 2015 at 7:41 am

I have fabric from both of the Snowman Gatherings lines, and having prints that did not make it into production would be a wonderful addition to a quilt that could legitimately be called “one of a kind”. What I love about the Snowman Gatherings fabrics is that I can make quilts that can be used throughout the entire winter season, which can be rather long here in Minnesota.

    Lisa,
Thank you for the Mexican chicken/rice casserole recipe. I made chicken tacos with similar ingredients just before Christmas so I can’t wait to try yours. It will be delicious!
While I do not deserve to win your fabrics any more than anyone else, I can honestly tell you that people who know me know that my favorite style of fabrics are mini prints and “snowmen”(I had even stenciled my extra bathroom a number of years ago in snowflakes with small snowmen quilts :)), my favorite colors are the blues/ grays, and I do have fabrics left from SG1, a bundle of SG2, and several of your snowman patterns yet to do. It would be amazing to win your “extras” to include in my next project. They would be very appreciated & definitely used with my other SG fabric. Happy New Year! Enjoy your beautiful new lake home!

When your post popped up in my inbox, I saw that quilt photo and ooohed and aaahed over it for a while before I read a word. I love how such a simple block can be so effective in the right fabrics. I have some Snowman Gatherings 1 and 2 in my stash and now have to debate whether to use it for this pictured quilt or the Warm Winter Blessings pattern I bought along with the fabric. Such happy decisions to make. Happy, happy New Year!

Well, you did say these fabrics are rare. So I thought – hmmm…you know what else is rare? I have been making quilts since 1997 and I have NEVER made a quilt for myself, ever. I have made them for family, shut-ins, friends and those who just needed someone to know they loved them. But not once have I made a quilt just for me. So that, along with those beautiful fabrics, is a double rare thing! (and did I mention, the colors match my eyes? Just saying!)

It would be great for me to win just because it would be sew fun. I do have some fat quarters from this line, so naturally it would be sew nice to add to them. The snowball block is always a sure bet to showcase great fabrics. Thanks for your generous heart and the giveaways that you do!

I’ve lived in Wisconsin 24 years without making a snowman quilt! Your big snowman quilt (the one that says Jace) is getting started right after the holidays. I have been planning this a few months and have some SG1 and SG2 for it. I’m still a little short – this would fit in great. Thanks for all you do for us – I really enjoyed making all the ornaments this year.

  281. 283 Pati
    December 30, 2015 at 2:35 pm

Several years ago, I made a snowman Christmas tree skirt for a friend, at her request. I hadn’t really paid much attention to snow-themed fabric adventures until that project, but since then, I’ve grown to love the wintry snowman theme so much, that every winter I decorate my sewing room with a snowman wall hanging, stuffed snowmen, tiny white lights and snowy garland. It’s beautiful, peaceful and happy, and I love it.

These special fabrics would be such a wonderful addition to my sewing room. They’d look great and they’d be so meaningful!

Happy New Year to you, and thank you for this giveaway!

I love, love, love snowmen and, well everything you do, but did I mention how very much I love snowmen – even here in GA, I decorate with snowmen – including my warm winter blessings quilt!!! I would truly make this snowball quilt from my Lisa stash. I still owe you a picture of my completed ‘Black and Tan’ quilt – woool on – snowmen and sheep and you!!!
I do so hope I win, because no one would love and treasure them more –

WooHoo!! What an awesome give away! I sure hope I’m not to late for consideration… I have a variety of snowman gatherings fabrics as I love snowmen and these guys are the best. They fit in well with a variety of wintery themes. I have the Snowflake and Snowball runner pattern but not enough fabric to do the Snowflake quilt. Boy these would be grand to put into that. Love your snowball quilt, looks big enough for 2 to cuddle under 😉
Happy New Year and great stitching to everyone.

I would love to have them to make a snowball quilt to match the snowman quilt I have in the similar fabric line! It will be so cool! Happy New Year to you!

I know I’m probably too late, but I was waiting for snow in Alabama so I could have some snowmen of my own and it never came! No, seriously, I have some Snowman Gatherings and would love to have some rare, special men to add to my snowstash!

What a great giveaway!!! I am in the process of making each of my 5 grand kids a Christmas quilt–I have two done. I plan on giving these quilts to my grand kids as a present on the first Christmas after they get married. The rare snowman fabric would make a great heirloom quilt for one of them to have for many, many Christmases with their new families.

I have no good reason other than I am a BIG fan of yours and would die to get your fabric rejects.
Maybe that would kick start me to finally make a quilt for my bed. LOL!!!

I would love to add to my Snowman Gatherings stash. I know there are many good reasons for others to get this special fabric. My reason is that I truly love to quilt….pretty simple. I do it every day now that I have retired and teach at my LQS for the last year and really enjoy it. I love sharing inspiration and techniques and have been a fan of PG for many years now. Thank you for this fun chance to win some awesome fabric.

As a quilt historian, I’d love to add these super rare fabrics to my collection!

Hi, I have some of the Snowman Gatherings line, love it! I have the snowman quilt in a bin that I thought I would start this winter, hopefully I still can. Trying to finish some UFO’s before I get involved with a big quilt. Copied your recipe, plan on trying. Looks delicious. Happy New Year!

I’ve been smitten by Snowman Gatherings since I first laid eyes on them! One quilt is done, but I still have leftovers and other fabrics that need a project, and what is more wintery than a snowball quilt? Thanks for sharing that beautiful spark of creativity with all of us!

I should win because you need to send some snow to Northern Wisconsin. You people in the south have gotten all our snow so I cannot even make a snowman. I guess that fabric would be the closest thing I would get to building a snowman (or should I say a snow quilt) this year. Thanks for the chance.

Because your fabrics make me very happy … they put a smile on my face and a warm feeling in my heart. You did give us a 2″ set when we took the tulip runner workshop and I used them to make a twister design fabric that I am making into a miniature Christmas stocking for my granddaughter. She had a wonderful time helping me choose the placement of the fabrics.

Oh my gosh I am such a fan of the snowman lines !!! Love love love scrappy so would love to be able to do a super scrappy project for my own bed. I have seven kids so my own projects get pushed off more often than not
but I have been working on and keeping up with the FQS BOM with SG2 and would love to make a companion project with my scraps from SG1 & SG2. Crossing my fingers and hoping 2016 will be a lucky year :)…Thanks so much for the chance !!!

Happy New Year Lisa & PG staff! Well I hope I’m not too late to enter for your wonderful give-a-way! If I won it would make me feel very happy! I have a rare bone marrow disease that requires daily chemo meds for the rest of my life. Research for cures & medications for rare diseases are very difficult to fund . . . as my Oncologist says, “Nobody will get rich from finding a cure for a rare disease” . . . but we will not give up! I’d love to use this fabric to make a quilt that could be used to raise funds for The Mastocytosis Society. They support patients, caregivers & research. They are really awesome . . . and so are you! Thanks for considering my entry!
    Many blessings,

Because I do already have some of the PG Snowman fabric and because I am from snow covered Green Bay but am spending the winter in Florida and I’m missing the snow just a little bit and a little snowman love would fix me right up.

Oh my goodness – I love your PG Snowmen fabrics – I have a quilt in progress and I made your small snowman wall hanging. The kit had enough fabric in it so that I could share with a few of my friends. It’s adorable. I also have a jelly roll and a layer cake that’s waiting to be made into something special. I would love to have some of your fabrics that are not available elsewhere. Thanks Lisa for a chance to win.

Am I too late?????!!!! I would love these to use in my merry merry snowmen quilt (bunnyhill pattern). I’m making it in a blue colourway so am using snowman gatherings throughout! The quilt will be pretty precious when finished because it’s my first venture into applique but these would make it even more so!!!!
