Now this post is the same as it has been for the last couple of years….but by far the most IMPORTANT Needful Thing there is…without this machine I would not be half the Quilter I am today…read why…
Every year so far people askโฆWill you please do the Juki again this year?โฆ. so here it is AGAIN!โฆ..by popular demandโฆAND you could win yours free!!!
Now I know we pretty much all have a sewing machineโฆor two or three or even moreโฆBut I just have to talk about the sewing machine I use 99% of the timeโฆIt is my #1 Needful thingโฆMost of you probably have never heard of Jukiโฆso let me just say they are not new to the marketโฆJuki is well known in the garment industry and are mostly industrial machines. I think I have had a Juki for about 10 years nowโฆI also own 2 Berninas, 1060 and a 1530, and a couple of featherweightsโฆone black and one white. I confess this to you so you also know what I am comparing to and you all know I teach all across the country and have stitched on many machines.
I bought the Juki with the intention to use it as a second machine to have set up for machine quilting my little quilts, and also so I didnโt have to change the walking foot from my regular foot on my Berninaโฆthat would have been nice, right?โฆJuki has entered the quilt world with a semi-industrial machine for quilters. Here are a few of the features that the Juki machines haveโฆall metalโฆno plastic bobbins, no plastic feet, comes with all sorts of feet including 2 free motion feet and a walking foot, a larger 9โณ opening between the body and the arm, so machine quilting would be easier to handle. It has a nice extension table, this is nice for retreats, I have it embedded in my table usually. The machine ONLY stitches straight. Now this might be an issue for some, but I was only going to use this for machine quiltingโฆThe fact that it only stitches straight is actually a plusโฆnice tension all the time, single hole throat plate . It holds large cones as well as regular threadโฆIt has an automatic thread cutter, automatic needle threader , knee lift and stitches 1500 stitches per minute or something like that, in other words it is FAST. It comes with a walking foot and other feet for doing free motion quiltingโฆI use the regular foot and stitch up against a bumper to get a scant quarter inchโฆ Here are all the particulars from the manufacturer:
The Juki TL-2010Q is a high-performance sewing and quilting machine. The TL-2010Q is a single needle, lock-stitch, portable machine, constructed of aluminum die-casting to ensure industrial-quality sewing.
With advanced features, such an industrial sub-tension system, variable speed control slider, and bright white LED lighting, this machine is built for precision sewing. With a large work area of up to 23 inches (with auxiliary table attached), the TL-2000Qi can handle large quilt, sewing or home decor project with ease.
Advanced Thread TrimmingJuki_TL-2010Q_FootController
The New TL-2010Q allows you to trim top and bobbin threads using the Exclusive foot controlled trimming system.
Just rock your heel back on the foot control, and thread is quickly and precisely cut.
Automatic Thread Trimmer Juki_TL-2010Q_ThreadTrimmer
The machine is also equipped with an automatic thread button that simultaneously trims the needle and bobbin threads at the sewing end by lightly pressing the push-button.
Both the Trim Button and the Foot Controller engage the advanced Juki industrial style thread trimming mechanism.
No More Twists or QuiversJuki_TL-2010Q_SubTensionUnit
The Sub Tension Unit ensures thread feeding to the needle is smooth, even and twist free, no matter how thick your thread is.
It also keeps the thread from quivering when sewing at high speeds and provides accurate, fine tuned thread tension.
Thread Tension ScaleJuki_TL-2010Q_ThreadTension
The machine also has the thread tension scale, which allows you to adjust the tension according to the thread and material to be used.
Maximum Speed ControlJuki_TL-2010Q_SpeedControl
The new speed control lever gives you complete control over sewing speed.
Set the speed from 200 to 1500 stitches per minute, or any speed in between for free motion, and precision sewing.
heavy
Materials are sewn with Ease
The microcomputer controlled, speed control mechanism, allows the machine to sew materials at low speeds. This provides for accurate feed and perfect stitching when sewing heavy weight fabric, quilting and multiple layers of materials.
PresseJuki_TL-2010Q_PressureFootr Foot Pressure Adjustment
Presser foot pressure can be adjusted according to the fabric being sewn by turning a regulator located on the top of the machine.
Needle Up/Down ControlJuki_TL-2010Q_StopPositionWhen you stop sewing, the machine will stop with the needle in the down position to allow for pivoting or more accurate free motion work.
To move the needle up or down as desired, simply press the needle up/down button.
Truly IlluminatingThe new, bright-white LJuki_TL-2010Q_LEDLightED lighting, provides an illuminated view of the sewing area and allows for more precise sewing.
Automatic Needle ThreaderJuki_TL-
2010Q_AutoNeedleThreader
The push lever automatic needle threader easily threads the needle without eyestrain and allows you to start sewing quickly.
A new bobbin case latch and an enlarged bobbin case area make it easier to remove and replace the bobbin.
Nothing Free Motion Quilts Better Than ย Juki quilting feet
Jukiโs rich tradition in quilting continues with the TL-2010Q.
The feed dog can be raised and lowered simply by depressing a switch. When quilting, the drop feed allows you to sew curved stitches with precision and ease.
Juki 1/4 Inch and 1/5 Inch Quilting Feet
The quilting feet are designed for free motion quilting and free-hand embroidery. Just lower the feed dogs and stitch away.
Juki Even Feed Foot Juki_TL-2010Q_FeedFoot
With its reliable feed, the even feed foot ensures the machineโs ability to produce beautiful seams when sewing difficult-to-feed fabrics such as georgette and velvets, as well as heavy weight materials such as leather.
Knee Lifter Lever Juki_TL-2010Q_KneeLifter
The knee lifter level allows you to lift/lower the presser foot without using your hands. The presser foot can be raised as high as 12mm.
After stitching on this machine and using it. I did not want to stitch on anything else. It โpiecesโ beautifullyโฆI didnโt have to hang on to my threads at the start, the feed dogs are nice and close together and fed my little pieces in nicely. Having the single hole meant my piecing wasnโt sucked down into that oblong holeโฆ and againโฆI could stitch, cut my thread with my foot(or there is a button, but I like my hands free to hold on to my patches) knee lift my presser foot and be on to the next thingโฆI especially love piecing triangle paper on the Juki for all the reasons I just statedโฆNow I know being fast really should not be an issue, right? We want to be accurate! But let me tell you, if I am stitching strips, borders or you name itโฆfast is handyโฆI tried going back to my โregularโ machine to piece onโฆit was almost painful!!! Just shoot meโฆI loan this machine at The Gathering, but it comes with a warningโฆif you stitch with it you WILL be going home with it! I think only one person didnโt buy one after she stitched on it for a weekendโฆlolโฆThey also have updated the Juki recentlyโฆI have a TL98Q (old model at home) and the new modelTL2010 Q1 I have in the studio, they have updated to an LED lightโฆthey have added a Turtle and a Hare button, if you want to control how fast it can goโฆand they changed the foot pedal, a bitโฆI love both of them and even though they are slightly different I can stitch on both on them with no problem even though they have slightly different foot pedals and controls.
So if you are ever in the market for a machine, please check out the Jukiโs and you can read all the technical words I should have used to explain it. I sell only the Juki 2010Q1 at my store in WIโฆI could sell other machines but remember what I said, I only sell what I useโฆtherefore I sell the Jukiโs. I am placing the Juki 2010Qi on sale now until the end of the year at a special of $899-(yesโฆnot a typo $948.95 if you are in WI we have to add tax) which includes shipping too. This is a great deal. We will order more for this same price as long as you order before the end of the year. JUKI In 2017 they will go back to $999.00 still a great price when you think about what you all get with this machine! Please allow a few weeks for deliveryโฆ. ย Your card will be charged as soon as you place your order with out new compliant cc processing. If you are the winner we will be crediting your card back.
SCANT 1/4โณ FOOT
So for those of you who have a JUKI already andy maybe missed this last year when JUKI finally made a SCANT 1/4โณ foot. Here is my article about itโฆ
I have to admitโฆI was skepticalโฆbutโฆI was happily surprisedโฆI stitched a mini quilt..and it was amazingโฆI tried to derail it by trying to run over a dog earโฆno wouldnโt do it!!! I first put my foot on and it was perfectly lined up with my usual tape bumperโฆso off came the tapeโฆI happily stitched this whole mini and was very pleased! ย The only thingโฆyou have the put the other regular foot on when doing triangle paperโฆI managed to do TP with it on, but it was very difficulty to seeโฆand I will not do it againโฆย we have them on sale for $45.OO .
This year we also have added an FRONT OPEN TOE FOOTโ This is for machine quiltingโฆwe all love this foot because there is no obstruction of view while quiltingโฆmuch nicerโฆ
We also have a bunch of Accessories for our machine…they are..
Bobbins- set of 10
Magnetic Bobbin Holder
Oil Spout
They are under the same category as the machine…so they are easily orderable.
Last year we sold over 50 machinesโฆ If we make it over 50 this yearโฆone of you who purchases will get theirs FREE too!!! Those odds are pretty good!!!
I will be posting the winner for the machine AND all the other winners here on NEW YEARS DAY โฆ
If you are the proud owner of a Jukiโฆplease let comment and let everyone her know about it!!! ย So I donโt look like a just a salesmanโฆI do not have time to be a sewing machine storeโฆbut I know the importance of have a great machineโฆand one you do not have to sell your soul for, so I only advertise them once or twice a yearโฆ.I will give an FRONT OPEN TOE FOOT- or a 1/4″ FOOT to a Juki owner if you take the time to tell us about it hereโฆI know we are all so busy…but I appreciate your imput…

Thank you Lisa. I have this machine, it is everting you say it is. I got it after I watched you sew when I attended a wool class in Wisconsin. I never get frustrated with this machine, it is so easy to maintain, sews love a dream. I highly recommend this gem. Merry Christmas from Texas CB
Lisa, I no longer have my Judi because I bought a long arm. It is by far the best work horse out there. That is a great price you are offering.no need to send me anything, just want to urge fellow quilters to jump on this.
I love my Juli. It is the only machine I piece. Itโs perfect every time. My favorite is the thread cutting. I could not be without it now. Its a great feature. Now you ha e a chance to maybe win on. Good luck
Geri
I bought my 2010Q Juki last year as did my friend and her daughter after hearing me RAVE about it!!! I love, love this machine for all the reasons Lisa mentioned, even sold my Bernina 1260….one of the best machines Bernina ever made. I have another machine for fancy stitches, but the majority of my stitching is on the Juki!
This is a wonderful machine, so user friendly!!!
I ordered my Juki from you a few Christmases ago and love it. Did not get rid of my other two machines, so friends and family can use them when we get together to sew. But the Juki is my choice over the others. Will order the scant 1/4โ foot to make life that much easier! Thank you Lisa and crew…Merry Christmas!
I have this machine and it sews wonderfully. I use it mostly for quilting my small projects. I wonโt publicly admit how many others I have and use! I do have a little trouble with the needle threader and would appreciate helpful hints on this. Once this machine is set up it never gets put away.
I bought my Juki the first year you put them on sale at Christmas and I love it. Once you are used to the thread cutter alone, it would be torture to be without it. I have the 1/4 inch foot but not the open to one. I bet it is handy. This machine is a workhorse and fast and I’ve never had to monkey with it. Oh, I did have to fix the needle threader once but used a You Tube video and did it myself! You will never regret buying this machine.
The Juki sounds wonderful. My question is can you easily carry it to classes &/or retreats? I have a Janome that I love but itโs big & can be awkward to tote around. My sister told me she recently saw a used Juki in a shop & was told theyโre rarely traded.
You have convinced me that the next machine I get will be the Juki. I love your designs and all you have to offer. Your booth at Quilt Festival is a favorite. You set up amazing displays and I always find new projects. I look forward each year to your events-SBOW, and both of your Christmas web events. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
I totally agree–sewing on the Juki is great! If anyone is on the fence, don’t worry–you will love it! I also have a Bernina and a featherweight and use my Juki exclusively when I am at home. My Bernina is packed up and only used at retreats because it is easier for me to move around, but I am seriously considering taking my Juki instead. I’ve had it for over five years and it’s one of the best investments I’ve ever made.
I am the owner of a Juki and I love it!! I treated myself to a Mother’s Day Sale Lisa had a couple years ago. I had been in the market for a new machine and had been trying this and that out, but this won hands down and the sale made it even sweeter. I use straight stitch 99% of the time and this is perfect for this. It is a workhorse.
I have a Juki! Lisa is completely right! I got mine for quoting and it is my all time favorite, the one I’d grab if my house was falling down! Love the 12 days of Christmas every year! Wish i could get one of everything! Thanks Lisa!
I love my Juki!! I took a machine quilting class this past year, and was one if the few people not fighting the tension! My friend has a super expensive computerized machine. We took a class together, and there was a lot of fusible to sew through. Her expensive machine jammed over and over again. I insisted she try it on mine. She left my house wanting a Juki. I would not trade my Juki for any other machine.
I’ve had this Juki for 4 years and love it. I first bought it for machine quilting. My Bernina just didn’t have the ability to quilt like this machine.I used my other machines for piecing but the more I used this one, the less I used the others. It’s my favorite over my old Bernina, my featherweight and the other old Singers I have. I might have to get that 1/4 foot?! Merry Christmas and thanks for offering us these great deals!
Just wanted to take this opportunity to wish The Primitive Gathering Family a Merry Christmas and A Happy, Healthy New Year. Thanks for all you do for the quilting and wooly world.
I have a Juki & love it! Picked it up based on Lisaโs article from last year. If youโre in the market for a new machine you wonโt be disappointed!!
I have had my Juki for about six years. I love, love, love it for piecing and quilting. I just wish the toes on the even-feed foot were a little farther apart … I’m fanatic about actually being “in the ditch.” I’m planning to order the scant quarter inch and the open toe free motion feet. Happy Holidays to all.

Last year on Needful Things Day 12, after considering for several years, I finally purchased this sewing machine. I love it! Both a steady workhorse and a race horse! I have a Bernina, a Pfaff and a featherweight. And I will keep them but the Juki has become my go to machine. Using the scant quarter foot. Time to add the open toe foot.
Thank you Lisa for the inspiration, advice and guidance that you so generously provide throughout the year. Wishing you the best.
I have sewn, pieced, machine quilted on my Juki 98LQ almost exclusively for years. Love the speed. Also purchased mine for machine quilting. Quickly realized it is the bomb at piecing. I have a top of the line Husqvarna Designer 1 that I use for applique and mending stretch fabrics. Everything else I choose the Juki. On this older model the needle threader is worthless. Glad they improved it. I double knot the thread and pull it through so seldom need to thread the machine. Love the 2nd motor for bobbin winding. And the 2 thread delivery wires tall enough for cone thread. One tip, take the metal thread cutter off the end of a spool of thread or dental floss and tape to top of machine to quickly cut newly wound bobbin thread. This machine does require oiling. I sew alot!! So oiling weekly or so is necessary. I had my prized husband cut and file one of the 2 machine quilting feet to make it open toe. Funny, I thought it odd to get 2 of the same foot. Didn’t know til reading your post that they were different sizes. Overall I love this machine and would recommend it in a heartbeat. Great value for the price! Former Accuquilt designer and consultant and retired owner of Noble Needle Quilting pattern company. Now I quilt for pleasure.
I got my Juki from you last year… & what a difference it has made! I love it so! Thank you so much for introducing so many of us to this wonderful sewing machine.
I was lucky enough to get a Juki last year from my husband and kids. I had talked about it so much from all your reviews that they just had to get me one. ๐ It is just as amazing as you say. I have a couple of other machines (Vikings) and I haven’t sewn on them at all since I got my Juki. Thank you so much for all you do for the quilting community! Have a Blessed Christmas!!!
My Juki is my go-to machine. Although an older machine it just keeps sewing along. Oiling it on a regular basis will keep it in tip-top shape. A feature I really like is turning it on and it is set where I left off. No more resetting the stitch length, etc. My Bernina is mainly used for the zigzag stitch on machine applique. That scant 1/4″ foot is on my wish list. Merry Christmas to you and yours.
I have sewn on my friend Joanne Wechlo’s Juki machine, and it sews like a DREAM. The tension is precise and even every single time, it doesn’t pull the little pieces down into the machine. I can chain piece and it is smooth. The cutting feature is something else that I really like. When my machine takes a turn for the worst, I will purchase a Juki
Merry Christmas to you and your wonderful staff! I have been wanting a Juki since you first raved about them. Maybe this year is the year! I really appreciate everyoneโs testimonials.
Love my juki. I piece, and machine quilt on it, even bed size quilts. Would love the 1/4 inch foot. Will add it to my list. You and your staff do a marvelous job of working with us. My friends say I am a primitive gatherings fanatic. I just think you have all the wonderful thingsummer I want. Merry Christmas to all of you.
I purchased my Juki from you two years ago, hoping I would win one, well that didnโt happen but what did happen was I got the best machine ever. I have a Bernina 1090 and a Featherweight, but my Juki is my go to machine. It goes to retreats and workshops with me, but I also use it now as my primary machine. I love the needle threader, but itโs a little tricky til you get the hang of it. Thank you Lisa for another fantastic year of quilting adventures and needful things. I wish you, Nick, your family and staff a Merry Christmas and good health in the coming year.
I have the Juki 98E and so agree with you, it is a dream for quilting. I have used it for king and queen sized quilts. It makes such lovely stitches and the quilt is so easy to maneuver under the large throat. I also want to thank you for your quilt patterns and your blogs. It is so fun to see your patterns and to follow your active family. Best wishes to you and your family.
Ohmylanta!!! Love love love my Juki! My friend started me in quilting three years ago and I went to the Chicago Quilt Show that year and bought one. So easy and spot in for this newbie. Now Iโm addicted to quilting and love it more every day. 2019 I will be learning to quilt on it instead of just piecing and I cannot wait! Merry Christmas to all! ๐๐๐
Looks like the Juki would be a good choice to replace my aging machine. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of you! Thank you for all that you do!
I bought my Juki from you Lisa the last time you ran this promotion. I do love the machine! One of the main reasons that I bought it was so that I would have a good machine for quilting. I really appreciate how easy it is to move from straight stitching to putting your feed dogs down and quilting. I needed a strong sturdy workhorse machine and this is it! The only thing I missed from my other machine was the quarter inch foot and now they have one which is nice to know. Thank you for discrete promotion! Merry Christmas !
Merry Christmas to you and your staff, you are so generous sharing both your business and your personal life. I truly appreciate all you do. Thank you.
I don’t have a Juki, only Bernina’s, thank you for the great information about the Juki, it may be something I would be interested in purchasing in the future and like that it only does one stitch! Wishing you and yours a Merry Christmas and happy and healthy New Year.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Lisa, Nick and all your staff. Thanks for all you do.
I love my Juki!! Finally got one this year and I just am thrilled with it. My daughters keep wanting to come over and sew on it and they are saving up to get their own some day. In the meantime, if Iโm gone on vacation they ask to borrow it!
I sewed on a Bernina for over 25 years and thought no other brand could be as good. Then I bought a Juki from PG and I absolutely love it and rarely touch my Bernina. My piecing is so much more accurate on the Juki! I recommend a Juki to all of my sewing friends.
I bought my Juki sewing machine a few years ago and I love it! One of my favorite things to Sew is Paper Pieced Blocks. It has the perfect cut off for each seam, no long thread tails.
Merry Christmas and a Healthy Happy 2019! ๐
I love my Juki! It’s like going back to a simpler time when I started sewing (don’t want to say how many years ago)! It’s easy to use – not too many knobs and buttons and no touch screen, YAY! Like Lisa said, it pieces beautifully. I ordered the 1/4 inch foot just now and am looking forward to getting it on the machine and trying it out. I love the thread cutter built into the foot pedal so that I can keep my hands on the fabric pieces. I am looking forward to learning to machine quilt with it. I also purchased the table extension – It’s awesome! I don’t have fabric hanging down over the side of the machine any more. Thank you, Lisa, for introducing me to this machine!
Love all of the great info on the Juki. Maybe I will gift my Bernina to my daughter-in-law some day and upgrade to the Juki as piecing accurately is what’s most important to me in a machine. Thank you for another great year of needful things. I placed my orders last night. So excited! I know it takes so much time to do these posts, plus all of the preparation from your wonderful crew to fill the orders. It truly is a gift to all of us. Wishing you, your family and the Primitive Gatherings team a blessed Christmas and happy, healthy New Year.
I have a Pfaff, Bernina and JUKI sewing machine. The JUKI was a gift from my husband because he knew how much quilting I do and wanted to make it easier for me. LOVE my JUKI!!!!!!! One can sew slow or fast depending on how fast you want to finish one quilt and move on to the next project. Easy to maintain and a must have for any quilter!
I got my Juki at last year’s 12 Days of Christmas and I love it. It sews like a dream and the table is so nice and big so you have a lot of space for your quilt. I got the 1/4″ foot last year and it makes it so much easier to piece accurately. I’ve been thinking I need the open toe foot because I’m doing more free motion quilting and I think it would make it easier. Thanks for another wonderful year of Needful Things! Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas to all at Primitive Gatherings,
I must say after reading all the comments a Juki would be a great machine to own. I have a Kenmore and a black featherweight and love them both. If I were to win I would want you to donate it to someone who lost their machine in. the Paradise CA fire. or the Carr fire in Redding CA, so many quilters lost everything they own because of those fires.
The Juki sounds like a wonderfilled machine! I am still using my Elna Air Electronic from 1980 and would love to upgrade to a modern machine with all the bells and whistles this Juki has. Wow!
I bought a JUKI 2010Q about a year ago to use in bag making. Now I use it for EVERYTHING! I love everything about it! It does such nice even stitches and can sew through many layers of denim, leather and other thick materials. Great for bag making! I have a quilt ready to machine quilt and am excited to try out ruler quilting with it. I have a few rulers to try out with it. I have the 1/4″ foot, but would love to win the open toe quilting foot! Such a fantastic machine!! The only thing I use my Bernina for now is when I occasionally need a zigzag stitch.
I agonized over buying a Juke MO-634DE serger in 1991. I was a stay at home mom and had a hard time justifying the expense of the Juki just to make my sewing go faster. The Juki has been one of the best investments I ever made! I use it infrequently but have never had a moment’s trouble with this machine. Go Juki! I am now a stay at home grandmom and wish I could justify buying Lisa’s Juki, but as the owner of two Singers, three Berninas, and a Viking, I’m out of sewing machine space! Ha! Ha!
I love my Juki bought 2 yrs ago after reading your blog post about your experience with machine. Wonderful for piecing and quilting. Was never able to get hang of free motion quilting with my other machines that are top of line babylocks. Sat down first time adjusted speed to slow and away I went free motion quilting . Did not look bad at all. Stitch is perfect everytime. Tension always spot on. Does not cost a arm and leg. Would not trade for $10.000.00 machine.
Sounds like a wonderful machine. I have only ever heard good things about them. And that they are built to last….Maybe if I am a really good girl and cross my fingers and toes and everything else I might win.
Can you imagine how many projects I could get done with the speed of a Juki?!?! I would love to win one since it will be many years before I can justify getting a fourth machine…. ๐ Merry Christmas to your family!
Lisa…….I am a proud owner of a Juki F600 and LOVe it! Like you, I also own a Bernina. I love the feed dog system with the Jukiโs…….it keeps the pieces together and feeding evenly. The machines sew smoothly and the stitches and tension is perfect. I highly recommend these machines. I love PG and hope to walk in your WI store one day.
Thank you for sharing your 12 needful things!!! I love to read each one!! I really hope to someday have a Juki, it sounds just perfect for my needs!!! Living right here in Wisconsin, I am determined to get to your store!
I have only heard excellent things about a Juki machine. Will add it to my wishlist. Merry Christmas! Thank you for all of the Stitch alongs and patterns.
i would love to win a Juki. I purchased a Brother several years ago, but only do straight stitch piecing on it, not much applique, yet. I still consider myself a beginner Piecer as I never quilt my own quilts. I’ve put together 2 large quilts, 1 medium size quilt and a couple of table runners. Thank you for your 12 days of Christmas and sew alongs, both Modal Blockheads and the Moon Garden. I hope your Christmas is warm and safe!
I LOVE my Juki TL2010Q. I too have 2 Bernina`s which I truly love. However, I, like Lisa, now do ALL of my piecing on my Juki. This is the only machine I take to retreats. I bought my machine from Lisa a few years ago and have never for one minute regretted my buying decision! If you are a quilter, you will love it!!
I am another happy Juki owner. I had a 1986 Pfaff that I used for sewing clothing. I started quilting when I retired about 12 years ago, and the Pfaff was getting beyond its usefulness. I started saving for a new Pfaff, but when I was ready to buy, l learned they were no longer the reliable mechanical machines they used to be. After a lot of research, I bought a Juki 2010Q and I have never been sorry. You mentioned all the features, but I most wanted the increased harp space, the ability to stop with the needle down, reliable tension, and its strength. Besides quilting, I have been sewing wallets, zipper pouches and a few bags– Miss Juki sews though everything! It is easy to keep clean and has only been serviced once. (If you keep up with the oiling, she will be happier.) The walking foot and the FMQ feet work well. I can’t think of one bad thing– and no expensive computers to repair.
Hi Perspective Juki Buyers, I own the Juki TL-2010Q and I LOVE it. Iโve had it for several years, itโs easy to use, portable, with a nice straight stitch. I personally think the price is great and well worth the investment. I bought the open toe foot last year, but have to admit I havenโt used it yet (as I noticed itโs still packaged). My other machines are a Bernina 200E, Bernina 1230, and an old Featherweight. You can never have too many machines! Itโs Christmas, treat yourself!! Jakey
Almost forgot… Merry Christmas Lisa to you, your family, and staff… thank you for all that you do and the joy that it brings. Fellow quilters, I have also enjoyed reading your posts… so touching… thank you for sharing. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all. Jakey
My friend bought her Juki from Primitive Gatherings around Christmas a couple years ago. She LOVES it and wonโt stitch on anything else. The sewing machine is my favorite part of this post – I have been waiting to see if it would be featured and it was! I canโt wait till I get mineโค๏ธ
Thank you for the fun during the 12 needful days. I appreciate all that you do and I know it takes great personal sacrifice to offer us all the things you do. My hope for you and yours is that you are able to continue the creatitivity and remain a successful business. I see lots of things I would love to have. Always have a wish list of PG items.
I’ve been considering a Juki for a long time, and will probably buy one now that it has a speed control. Question: how does the warranty work if I were to buy it from you?
Here’s to a lovely Christmas holiday!
I ordered my Juki last year. I love, love love it. Quilting with my Juki is a dream. I also, love the quarter inch foot. I highly recommend this machine. Thank you Lisa for introducing me to this great machine. Now my only wish is to have more time to use it.
Merry Christmas to Lisa, Nick, & entire family at Primitive Gatherings!
I still cannot believe that I was the lucky winner last year of this Awesome machine!!
I had been on the fence about buying one for over a year, & my husband told me last year to just order it, it was gonna be my gift from him. So,on New Yearโs Day, there was some noise going on in my house when I read Lisaโs post on the winners, I was screaming, & jumping up &down & rolling on the floor!!
I LOVE my JUKI, it sews so smooth, & fast, so easy to control, no complex buttons, love the thread cutter, I did buy the 1/4โ foot, couldnโt sew without it, & it is very easy to switch out, also, love the knee control!
My granddaughter sewed her first quilt with it this fall, first time sewing, & easily controlled it herself, & she got into sewing very fast, it sews like a racehorse!! And she wants to come sew at gmas all the time!
My Viking just kinda hangs out in the corner now, I get her out when I need to do some fancy stitching.
So, if you ladies are thinking about getting one, you will NOT be disappointed, & wonder why you waited so long!
Thankyou again Lisa for this WONDERFUL gift, & everything you do!! I appreciate all of it from the bottom of my โค๏ธ
I was in the market for a machine last year and was convinced Juki was The machine for me after your reading your recommendation.. However, the nearest dealers were two hours away. How much a problem is getting service? Or does it need service? Can a talented machine repairman usually get parts if needed? I even tried to convince two local quilt shots to carry Juki!
Iโve wanted to buy this machine for two years now. This year itโs finally happening!
I can hardly wait until itโs here! I canโt thank you enough for your beautiful products. I have a lot of wonderful things arriving in January.
I love my Juki. I bought it 2 or 3 years ago in Lisa’s 12 Days of Christmas for the same price. I rarely use my Bernina. At first I had a trouble learning how to use the needle threader. After watching a YouTube video, threading the machine is a breeze. I also love the Zoom Spout Oiler.
I have a couple of questions: It only does a straight stitch right? No zig-zag? Does it go backwards? I am really interested and have been looking around for a machine to do actual quilting, but this does more. I am especially interested in the scant 1/4″ !
I love my Juki! I have had it for 15 years. It is still going strong. I use mine for all my quilting. Tried to quilt on my other machines. They just don’t give me the look I love like my Juki! Also love that it is all metal!
Merry Christmas Lisa! Have a wonderful Christmas with your family. Thank you for all you do for us quilters.ย May God grant you peace and happiness for the coming year.
I love my Juki!!!! It is a work horse. It is the only machine I take to retreats. I love the large table, it allows so much more room to lay out pieces. Buy one, you wonโt regret it ever! I have two Pffafs and hardly ever use them anymore!
I bought mine last year and I love it. This machine is sturdy and the stitching is great, everything about it is great. I have an expensive machine but I havenโt used it since the Juki came home with me. I would buy another one definetly!
Thank you for sharing your insights with all of us – Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family and all the wonderful staff at your shops.
BY FAR THE BEST SEWING MACHINE I HAVE EVER HAD AND I’VE HAD MANY. I purchased my Juki from you at Christmas 2010 or 2011. I absolutely love it. It makes sewing so much more enjoyable. True straight stitch – a must for piecing quilts! I like that it is completely metal and it’s easy to oil. I like the bobbin winding and the metal bobbins. I like the bobbin placement being side loaded so I don’t have to remove my item from the machine to replace the bobbin thread. I like the foot control for sniping the thread when you are done with a seam. I like the ease of setting the tensions both top and bottom threads. I love the sound of it when I sew. It’s so smooth – it practically purrs. I have a Bernina 830 Record, wonderful machine but old so it doesn’t have some of the things, like threader, thread cutter, etc. and also it has decorative stitches and that doesn’t allow for a truly straight stitch like the Juki TL2010Q. I have had Elna, Viking and Janome..all good machines but not as true as the Juki. The one negative is it is very heavy. I do have a travelling Janome that weighs 11 pounds but if I can get someone to lift my Juki I will take that with me. They didn’t have the scant quarter foot when I purchased my machine and I’m glad to see they have it now. If you want a good sturdy work horse – this is it!!
Oops – forgot to mention the long sewing bed and the oversized table that comes with it. Both are great but I especially like the long sewing bed for quilting.
I have too many machines to count. With everyone downsizing these days I may be encouraged to buy a Juki and give my machine collection to my grandchildren. I know the grandsons will want to be behind the Juki sewing for its speed and accuracy. Pillow cases for charity, neonatal quilts and comfort quilts needed by tragic events are my main projects these days. Sounds like the Juki could speed up my production. The comments are really encouraging. We really do value the opinion of quilters. Time to stop procrastinating and get the right tool for myself.
Love my Juki from PG! I also have a $5K Bernina. The Juki already COMES with a BUNCH of extra feet….as well as a large extension table. Those were things I had to purchase extra with my Bernina. 99 percent of the time I am using my machines for straight stitching, and the Juki wins hands down over my Bernina. So not only does it do a great job of stitching, I think you get a LOT for you money, too!
I have been following the comments for the last few years about the Juki. I have a Viking and it is about 25 years or more old and wanted to purchase a new machine before I retire. So this is the year. I ordered one and am excited to start sewing on it. Merry Christmas to Lisa and her family and staff.
I bought a Juki from you, too! It is a prized possession – like if my house was on fire I would stop to grab it on my way out. I’ve sewn on lots of different machines – check this, line up that, make an adjustment over here, and so on . . . none of that with the Juki; it sewed a perfect 1/4 inch seam right out of the box!! I couldn’t wish for a better machine. Thank you for offering it – it’s definitely my #1 Needful Sewing thing, too ๐ Merry Christmas to all of you!!
Lisa is right…you will love a Juki! I bought one a few years ago and it is the machine I use the most – 99% of the time. Added the scant 1/4 inch foot this year and itโs the best!
I would love to get one of these Juki’s to use for quilting. We have industrial Juki machines at work, and they are the best! Unfortunately, I had to replace my car recently so can’t afford to get a new quilting machine right now.
I bought my Juki in your Christmas sale three or four years ago, and I love it. I also have other machines that I kept, but only get them out when I need to zig-zag. It’s a great machine and so easy to use.
I love my Juki TL-2010Q! I too just wanted it for free motion quilting, but itโs my โgo toโ machine for piecing as well. I have 2 Berninaโs, which I use, but not as much as my Juki. That new 1/4โ foot sounds amazing. Iโm glad to know that it is accurate.
Merry Christmas! And thanks so much for featuring our Strip Sticks for one of the โNeedful Things,โ Lisa!
I have had a brother..a Singer, a NEW HOME and still own two really great Berninas. But I LOVE my Juki. It is a beast…goes fast. Saves time. โRight tool for the RIGHt JOB!!โ I love it. The needful things each year is a great opportunity for everyone to love one too!!! Thanks Lisa and Nick for all of your hard work. (And all of the elves at the gathering!)
I’ve been looking at the Juki for a while now. So…I did it…I ordered one. Merry Christmas to me!!
Thank you and I’m looking forward to receiving the machine. Can’t wait! ๐
I purchased a Juki from you last year and I am so glad I did. This is by far my favorite sewing machine and I have several different ones. It is so accurate and easy to use. Thanks.
I can have any machine An do own many of different brands An models And then I bought my juki. OMG. The only machine I use I sample for my shop an my booth an this machine moves a lot of fabric fast I get my work done I went back on my Bernina one day to do something an felt like I was going so slow I got impatient lol
So the juki is up all the time an never fails to make me so happy. The price is exceptional with Lisa unparalleled. Donโt think twice if you want the best. All metal machine that will be the workhorse youโve been waiting for
I have a question. Lisa refers to sewing on the Juki โup against a bumperโ, I have had a Pfaff, which was very similar as far as I can tell to the Juki, and also used a bumper. I donโt, however, see a bumper listed in the included or optional accessories. How would I acquire one?
Love this machine! Also have the open toe and the 1/4 inch foot as well as the Juki ruler foot. Love them all. They are all great accessories and very sturdy and good quality.
I have a Juki. Everything that Lisa say’s about it is true! I bought mine from Lisa 5 years ago at Christmas. It is my favorite sewing machine. I absolutely love it!
I bought the Kuki the second year that Lisa offered it and agree with everything she says about it. The foot pedal took a little getting used to but after I did I loved it as much as the knee lift. It is a great machine!
I first bought a Juki 2000 and loved that foot pedal thread cutter more than anything! And then I used the quilting foot and free-motion pieced a queen-sized quilt just on my tabletop … LOVED it! When you offered the TL-2010 I was pining away for the upgrades, so my sister bought my machine from me and I ordered the TL-2010 from PG. I justified the purchase as I’d paid $750 for a BSR (stitch regulator) for my Bernina that skipped stitches no matter what I did, or how many times I had it looked at. For just a little bit more, I bought the Juki that not only does wonderful free-motion quilting, but offers several speeds, has a fabulous thread cutter with the click of your heel on the foot pedal โ allowing me to chain piece like crazy, and requires very little maintenance. A year ago, I bought the quarter-inch foot at the Madison Quilt Expo … love it too. I wouldn’t ever be without my Juki. It goes to all retreats and the Bernina only comes out of the closet when I need to do appliquรฉ or a fancy stitch!
I purchased my Juki from you last year! I love her sew much, she is always ready to sew with me in my sewing room! I talk about her and how I got her as a โ needful thingโ ! Thanks for everything you do for us fellow stitchers!!!
I tried to order the machine and 1/4โ foot today (December 31) and the machine was back to full price. I thought the sale price was through the end of the year? Am I too late? I emailed the shop. Thanks and Happy New Year!
I have had my Juki 2010 for 3 years and I love this machine. I am currently working on Nearly Insane blocks and this machine is spot on! I was sewing making the last border of a 6 inch finished block using 40 half inched finished half square triangles. The Juki has pieced these tiny pieces together flawlessly…….no shredding of the fabric and perfect seams. Quilting on it is wonderful too!
