Christmas Carol Mystery Quilt Block:The Holly & the Ivy..
Welcome All to our Mystery Stitch-Along…Rhonda always throws a fabulous party!! I hear you are all buying kits like crazy!!!! WE love that you are so supportive of our Mystery… This is block 2 in the series…there will be 12 total and then Rhonda will have a finishing layout for you as well…
I chose to stitch the Christmas Carol…”The Holly & the Ivy”…and I had so much fun…designing and stitching this block…click the link below and after the ad, it will start in five seconds…
#8 wt. O775 and 3Strand floss in O775– using only one strand…I used this on the letters…so they #12 wt would not make the letters “chubbier”. The one strand of 3SF covers the edge but doesn’t take over..
We do not have an endless supply of threads…we have picked out some subs that will work just as well…so if you do not get the exact thread listed know we picked a sub. I
I will post a STEM STITCH video in our Facebook group…
If you missed the first block or need the schedule for the remaining blocks they are listed here…
It will be hard to top last year’s Crazy Quilt, but we think this year’s quilt is PRETTY SPECIAL TOO!
Beginning April 1st, we will share with you free patterns from some of our favorite designers to complete a Christmas quilt. Each week, one designer will post the free pattern on their website. All you need to do is go to the website on the date indicated below to download and print your free pattern and order kits to complete the block. Printed patterns will be available to purchase for those of you that can’t download the free pattern.

The Holly & the Ivy is one of my favorite Christmas carols. This block is beautiful. Love the felt letters. Order just placed for the kit, thread kit, some supplies and your wonderful wool book. Thanks for being part of this wonderful mystery quilt. Who doesn’t “need a little Christmas” these days.
