Oh my. Seeing the red fabric line reminds me when I was “retreating” at the retreat house you used to operate. The bed I would try to get had a lovely quilt done in red! I still want to some day do a red only quilt. That quilt, and the “gathering ” always made me feel so warm and welcomed.

When I first started quilting in the 80’s, my #1 fabric choice was primitive prints. And, the love of primitive prints has not left me. I just finished a quilt top with primitive prints while we are all in this quarantine. As I was trying to figure out what I’m going to do for the back of my quilt, low and behold I remembered I had a box of 12″ blocks I made when I first started quilting…..yep, from the 80’s! So I think I’m going to have a “2-fer” quilt – can use both sides. Hope you, your family, and business associates are all doing well. Thank you for all your patterns and fabric…..keep them coming! Love them!

Truly beautiful red fabric for a truly heartfelt but somber Easter this year with all that is going on. My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone and their families. We have a three month old great grandson that we have not been able to see in person since the beginning of March-thank goodness for electronics!

Oh I definitely want some of your newest line. I am working on your design in the new Moda book. I am using a bundle of your blue and red patriotic from a few years ago. VERY different from your shades of grey. I am thinking of using one of your designs from the patriotic block of the block for the center. I haven’t ordered a bundle of the red yet. It has been a crazy month and hopefully it will get back to normal soon. I miss going to the shop and getting inspiration every time I walk in the door. We are going to have an outside Easter basket hunt for my granddaughters instead of our usual plan. You have to make the best of it all. I can’t wait to see the new line in person it looks great.

The red colors are just what I’ve been looking for to make a red quilt! Most of the colors I’ve seen are washed out and faded but not these! They are fresh and bright but not ‘red’. I would love to win these and start my next project.

My great aunt, Aunt Wealthy, taught me to do redwork when I was 6 years old. Here I am, 73 and have never tired of doing it. By the way, I teach wool appliqué and recommend your book, Wool, Needle and Thread to beginners. It’s very detailed and beats taking notes during classes.

Happy Easter to you and your family! So far Easter has been mass via Facebook. Thank you that we are able to live stream. Daughter and her 5 children sent homemade Easter colored caramel corn to their god parents and grandparents. A daugher-in-law and 3 boys came to pick up sticks in our very large back yard. Social distancing. Will see how creative the other 3 kids are. We sent cards and will video chat.
As far as the fabric love the reds. My focus is finishing some projects from wool subscription and donating sewing time for various causes.
Will hang our flag “He is Risen Alleluia” tomorrow. Much to be thankful for and hopeful.

I spent months embroidering, staining muslin and then cut and made quilt only to find out that I over cut and nothing lined up like it should have. I was so upset that I have not made another red work quilt since. But after seeing your fabrics and patterns I am excited to make one of your quilts with your new fabrics!!
