Happy hump day stitchers! Here we are in the middle of another week that will be over before we know it. If you watched me LIVE on YouTube last Thursday you know that I’m taking the next couple of days to get out of Dodge for a bit before we start to get busy again. I was glad to arrive at Val’s house (my home away from home) in Nevada yesterday afternoon after a long day of airports and flying. For whatever reason, no matter what I do traveling always seems to take a lot out of me both mentally and physically. I always feel like I need another week off to recover after it’s over… I’m sure you know the feeling! You’d think by now that I would be a seasoned pro at the whole travel game and that it should come easier for me than the average bear. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not that I find it difficult, it’s just such a long and drawn-out process that usually turns out to be more of a hassle than anything else. Bottom line – I would rather not deal with it at all. It’s 2023 for crying out loud. Can’t we just teleport? LOL! Needless to say, no matter how much fun we might have, it will be nice to get home to my own bed, my sweet pup, and my sweetheart Captain Crab Ass next week, who I’m sure will all be lovingly waiting for me with open arms. I am indeed a lucky girl.
I am also lucky to have my good friend, and fellow stitcher Darcie with me as my travel partner on this trip. Not only is she good company, but she always adds a huge element of fun into anything we’re doing – even if there’s work involved. Speaking of work, to our credit we did spend some time working last night and this morning on a few things before treating ourselves to a spa day this afternoon. We plugged away at finishing up a new project that will be making its debut during my Love is All You Need retreat coming up in February, plus a few other odds and ends that needed attention. As usual I have a lot of irons in the fire right now and many of them are starting to come to fruition, with only finishing touches and final details remaining. How exciting! These little jam sessions of ours are sometimes just the nudge I need to finalize a project or idea that’s been sitting in stasis for far too long. Obviously brainstorming is way more fun and productive with more that just one person involved!
Many of the projects that were discussed over the last couple of days are those included in either my Wool Box or Quilt Box subscription boxes, which I am super excited about this year. Many of you have commented that you’re on the fence about joining these subscriptions so I thought I might help bump you off by talking a little bit about what a fabulous opportunity they are. Let’s start with the Wool Box Subscription. Our Wool Boxes are released every other month and focus primarily on wool and stitchery. They contain as close as we can get to $100 worth of wool-based goodies, and are made up of all new projects that have not been previously released. Projects include at least one major project kit and pattern, a pattern for an ongoing project, novelties, and more! Our Wool Boxes consist mostly of Primitive Gatherings products and patterns, but we may also have guest designers and products as well in future boxes. Interested? Here are the details…
- Projects are 40% OFF retail value!
- PG Wool Boxes will be charged the 15th of the month and will be shipped after the billing cycle.
- The price of each box will be $72 which includes shipping (international orders are required by customs to have protective shipping materials and will be charged at $83 per box including the cost of shipping).
- Boxes will ship every other month starting in January. Subscriptions will continue until you email us and request to cancel.
- PLEASE NOTE: when canceling your subscription, you will still receive the next box in the line up. After that box your subscription will be canceled.

If wool isn’t your thing, no worries. Try my Quilt Box Subscriptinon instead! PG Quilt Boxes are themed boxes that re-create some of my antique quilts into similar smaller versions or mini quilts. They include small hand-piecing or EPP, quick and easy cross-stitch projects, a bit of hand appliqué and embroidery, pin cushions, pouches, totes, pillows, and an on-going block project that will grow into a larger quilt over time. Boxes also include projects by guest designers along with a variety of fabric types to bring you a wide range of fun and creative opportunities. My main focus in these boxes is smaller quilts, but I also want to stretch the possibilities to include other patchwork and sewing projects in the future. Details are as follows:
- Projects are 30% OFF retail value!
- The Subscription Quilt Box will ship 6 times a year, every other month starting in February.
- The price of each box will be $45.00 including shipping.
- Boxes are billed automatically on the 15th of each month.
- Boxes ship at the end of the month after all billing is cleared.
- You may join anytime as long as the subscription is not full to capacity. Subscriptions will continue until you email us and request to cancel.
- PLEASE NOTE: when canceling your subscription, you will still receive the next box in the line up. After that box your subscription will be canceled.
- Signing up is easy! All you have to do is click the link below…
These boxes really are a great deal when you consider how much you’re saving in the long run. If you’re still having doubts all you have to do is ask someone who’s taken the plunge before and they’ll tell you! In fact, let me know in the comments if you’re a current Wool or Quilt Box subscriber and if so, why you would recommend it. Let your fellow stitchers know what they’re missing out on – there might even be a prize in it for you!
Alright gang, enough with working for today. I’m getting the signal from the girls that it’s time to hang it up and go get dinner. Twist my arm! Tomorrow we hope to get some hiking in before heading to UT to visit with another friend of ours from the quilting world. It should be a great time! I’ll try and post some photos if I think of it. Don’t forget, even though I am out of the studio we will still be going LIVE tomorrow at 1:00 CST on my STITCH with Lisa Bongean YouTube channel! Jess will be starting the show out with details on how we’re handling BOM’s this year, along with a bunch of other important details and information, so you really don’t want miss that. Then I’ll be stealing the show for a minute as we patch in all the way from out west – as long as the internet Gods agree anyway! You can tune in for all the shenanigans by clicking the link below. See you there! ~Lisa
