Twilight Stars Quilt-Along – Block Release Thirteen

Hi again! I hope everyone is doing well. I’m great but man, what a week! Between working on new project ideas, plus three different quilt-alongs simultaneously, a double session of Sit & Stitch, several filmings for upcoming videos and tutorials, and of course – attending the Great WI Quilt Show down in Madison, it’s been nothing but go-go-go since Monday. I’m always glad to see Friday roll in, but this week it feels especially nice. Even though I’m pretty sure the heat waves that I love so much are over for a while, I will enjoy a break from the hustle and bustle rain or shine.

The good news is, even with all the craziness I’m on track and exactly where I want to be with my block progress in the Twilight Stars Quilt-Along. Hopefully you’ve been able to keep up and are right there with me because it’s time for two more blocks to hit your to-do list. This week’s blocks are #6 and #89!

I’m having a lot of fun with this QAL and hope you are too. Since I’m forever working ahead, I have quite a collection of finished blocks starting to stack up, and I can already see that this quilt is going to be a real stunner once it’s all put together. I basically already love it!

Still thinking about joining me on this quilt-along adventure? Patterns for these blocks are located in my book, Triangle Gatherings (required to participate in the QAL along with a few other items), which can be purchased on our website by clicking HERE. Totally new to the quilt-along? A blog post I did explaining the full details on Twilight Stars can be found by clicking HERE. The full list of details and required supplies can be found at the Twilight Stars Info Page by hitting the button below!

I think a lot of you will agree that one of the best parts of this quilt-along is the PRIZES! I hope you’ve been remembering to post photos of your progress for a chance to win one of Heidi’s famous care packages. All you have to do is post a photo of your completed blocks each week before the release of the next batch, including the required book Triangle Gatherings and Primitive Gatherings Triangle Paper in the picture. Please also include the hashtag #TwilightStarsQAL in your post! We will choose a weekly random winner until the end of the QAL and a grand prize winner at the end. I announce the weekly winner during my LIVE show every Thursday, so make sure you post before then.

You might have noticed that due to being out of the studio for the Great WI Quilt Show on Thursday, there was no LIVE show. Because of that, I wasn’t able to spill the beans on who the winner was from last week like I usually do on air. That being said, I’m happy to announce that Debra Cross is our lucky week 12 prize winner. Congratulations Debra! Heidi will be contacting you via Facebook Messenger.

Now that we have Twilight Stars covered, I have a few more things I need to wrap up before I can call it a weekend. One of those things is a quick announcement regarding the next Black Star Flower Farm (BSFF) block release. As previously stated, BSFF block releases are scheduled to come out the 10th day of each month. When planning this, we forgot to take the fact that the 10th falls on a weekend a handful of times through the duration of the SAL, into consideration. Because it takes several villagers to raise a well rounded stitch-along, as you can imagine there are several hands involved in the final product. To make things easier for everyone involved, going forward: if the 10th of the month falls on a Saturday or Sunday, the Black Star Flower Farm blocks for that month will be released on the next business day. In other words – don’t panic. They’re coming! 🙂

Next up… Weekly comment winners – woo hoo! It wouldn’t be the kick-off to the weekend without throwing kudos to those of you who faithfully read my blog and leave me comments week after week. In today’s world – as weird as it is – a “like,” “share,” “tag,” or comment is one of the best ways to support our online presence by helping to ensure that the internet algorithm likes us. I’d try to explain what exactly that means, but it’s a lot of nerdy language and quite frankly, I’m not sure I know how. I guess you’ll just have to take my word for it and do all of those social media things I just mentioned. Bottom line, at the end of the day it helps us out which is why we love to reward those who do it on the regular. This week, my appreciation in goodie bag form is on the way to Julia S. and Matthew C. (if you think you are one of these lucky winners please check your email for a confirmation email from Heidi. You can also reach out to her at heidin@primitivegatherings.us)!

Ok, I think that’s it! Have a wonderful weekend and I’ll see you all on Monday. And don’t forget.. It’s the weekend – so be sure to make time to… STITCH EVERYDAY! Take care everyone! ~Lisa

I like getting a little bit of the quilt to do every week, makes it seem more manageable than to tackle it all at once.

Looking forward to cooler weather and wearing shackets! More time to stitch too. Twilight Stars is getting easier to do and I look forward to Friday’s announcement of the next blocks.
