Yep! I’m turning 29 once again today, and as promised I have a gift for all of you to help me celebrate! In honor of us October babies – and anyone else who LOVES to decorate for the scariest night of the year – I’d like to introduce my latest little Halloween treat! Inspired by a stunning piece of wool my super talented wool dyer Tyler recently came up with, is this ultra spook-tacular and crazy adorable wool appliqué haunted house project.

I don’t have an official name for it yet, and as much as I love pillows, I’m not quite sure if I want it to be that or a framed piece… What I DO know is, it’s adorable and I love it! Simple as that. And speaking of simple – this project is not only both fun and festive, it’s super easy too, making it the perfect Halloween-themed pick for beginners and seasoned pros alike. If you’re new to wool appliqué, my best recommendation is using a white liquid chalk marker to mark the stitching details. It’s really not hard… You can pretty much just eyeball it – it doesn’t have to be perfect. It’s a haunted house, after all!
The pattern for this project will remain posted as a FREE download through October 31st, 2023 by clicking the button above. It will then be available for purchase under its official name on our website thereafter. I’ll let you know what we decide on for a final name once I’m back in town from TX. Until then, happy birthday to me and to YOU – enjoy! No printer? No problem! You can purchase a paper copy of the pattern by clicking HERE.
We can’t forget that I’m not the only one sporting a birthday this month. PG is also on the b-day pedestal celebrating 20 years in business, and two years here in our new Larsen, WI location. To keep the party going we’re adding to the goodie basket by taking 20% OFF all fabric pre-cuts and yardage in stock NOW through Sunday, October 29th, 2023 (sorry, sale does NOT include Tilda or pre-order items).

Also, a quick heads up… If you didn’t already hear, there will be NO CommentSold tomorrow, Tuesday October 24th, 2023. Kali and the girls will be gone out on location at Heritage Hill State Historical Park in Green Bay shooting photos for the American Gatherings II Project Book (available to pre-order now by clicking HERE!). Exciting, right!? Hopefully they’ll remember to grab a few snapshots between quilt photos so the rest of us can be flies on the wall. It’s always interesting to see the process… Anyway, to make up for it there was a special Monday episode of CommentSold today, which you can still watch through the Primitive Gatherings CommentSold app, or in the VIDEOS area of our Facebook page. If you’re stash needs a little help, I highly recommend checking it out!
For those of you who already saw today’s shenanigans, The next CommentSold will be at the usual time (appx 2:15 p.m. CST) this Thursday directly following STITCH with Lisa, which airs at 1:00 p.m. CST on YouTube. I will do my best to hang out in the comments so I hope to see you there! If not, I will see you all next week when I’m back on WI ground. Bye for now! ~LHB
