Black Star Flower Farm Update

Hey everyone! I hope you had a great weekend! It was a bit on the windy side here, but my grand boys and I didn’t let it stop us from enjoying an afternoon at Bay Beach in Green Bay on Friday. If you’re not familiar, Bay Beach is a tiny little amusement park that has been operating in Green Bay, WI for over a century! It features all sorts of activities and old-timey amusement rides such as the Big Wheel, the famous Tilt-a-Whirl, bumper cars, and a giant slide. There’s even a a wooden roller coaster called the “Zippen Pippen” that was re-created based on the same plans of Elvis Presley’s favorite ride at a theme park called Liberty Land in Memphis, Tennessee! It’s pretty cool and definitely worth a visit if you’re ever in Green Bay!

The weekend was so nice I sure didn’t want it to end, but as always – the grindstone calls! I was at The Gathering bright and early yesterday, preparing for the annual Moda Designers Week, which I host here at The Gathering every other year. Basically, my fellow Moda sisters and brothers gather together for a week of brain storming, sharing ideas, collaborating, EATING, creating, and just simply catching up with each other. It’s always a blast and something I look forward to every year!

Needless to say, we’ve been keeping busy but I wanted to take a break for just a minute to pop on and update everyone on the Black Star Flower Farm Quilt-Along. If you’re participating you probably already know that the thirteenth and final block – the center – was released over the weekend and is now available to download FREE until September 10th. 2024. You can find it by either visiting http://www.lisabongean.com and selecting Black Star Flower Farm under the “Quilt-Alongs” tab OR by visiting our website at http://www.primitivegatherings.us and putting “Black Star Flower Farm” into the search bar.

I know many of you already have your center blocks downloaded and are just about ready to start finishing your quilts, so obviously you are probably looking for the finishing instructions! Finishing instructions for Black Star Flower Farm will be released on Tuesday, September 10th, 2024 by 5:00 p.m. CST! You can download them for FREE until October 10th, 2024 when they will go up for sale on our regular website.

I’ll be talking more about Black Star Flower Farm and everything else going on at PG right now on YouTube this Thursday at 1:00 p.m. CST during my LIVE show, STITCH with Lisa Bongean! Click the STITCH icon below to watch. Alright, friends! That’s all for now! Back to The Gathering I must go… See you soon! ~Lisa

Today, I think I finally figured out what “DL” represents in “Black Star Flower Farm” filenames. “Download.” This perplexed me for months. 😀

Oh my gosh, that baby has gotten so big already, either that or I’ve lost a few months. Your grandsons are so very handsome. It does my heart good to hear you are taking time to spend with them. One blink & they’ll be all grown up! Thanks for sharing the pics.

Lisa, I honestly don’t know how you get so much done, but still have time for those beautiful grands. I love your skating clothes and socks. Have fun with your moda sisters and brothers.

Seeing pictures of you and your grandkids at Bay Beach brings back many memories. If those grandkids wouldn’t grow up so
fast. Enjoy them while you can.

Glad to hear you and your grand-kids enjoyed Bay Beach! I grew up in Green Bay and loved going there; we had high school dances on Friday nights in the pavilion there during the summer! My kids and grand-kids enjoy going there too!
