Are you ready for the hustle and bustle of the holidays to start? Shorter days and the chill in the air are definite signs that the magic of the season is about to hit like a ton of bricks – and I couldn’t be more excited about it! This year, in addition to an Advent calendar or an old fashioned paper chain to count down the days til’ Christmas, I thought it would be fun to do a quick and easy stitch-along to help get our minds into holiday gear. So, without further ado, I’d like to introduce my latest stitch-along, “Countdown to Christmas!”
“Countdown to Christmas” is a Christmas-themed stitch-along that is designed to be fast, easy, and fun. Perfect for beginners and seasoned quilters alike, this project includes minimal piecing with no small pieces, and offers festive blocks featuring a variety of both stitchery and wool appliqué. In other words, you will be both quilting and stitching to complete this adorable quilt!
HOW IT WORKS:
“Countdown to Christmas” will run from December 1st, 2024 through Christmas day – December 25th, 2024. Patterns will be released each day by 5:00 p.m. CST throughout the duration of the stitch-along, and can be found by visiting www.lisabongean.com under the “Quilt-Alongs” tab. PLEASE NOTE: We are offering this pattern as a downloadable item ONLY at this time. Once the stitch-along is complete, we will be releasing it as a full printed pattern.
KIT OPTIONS:
• COTTON ONLY: The “Cotton ONLY” kit option is a great choice if you already have a healthy wool stash and only need to purchase the cotton portion of the quilt. The “Cotton ONLY” option will only include the fabrics for setting your quilt blocks. It does NOT include any wool or background fabric. When ordering, you will have the choice between solids or a scrappy version. The solid version will be made up of two Bella Solids (one red and one green – background fabric is sold separately), while the scrappy version is a bit more on the wild side with 24 different prints (background fabric is sold separately). This option is also great for those of you who would simply rather opt out of doing the wool appliqué portion of this project all together. The choice is always yours!
• WOOL ONLY: Literally opposite of the “Cotton ONLY” option, the “Wool ONLY” option contains all of the wools needed for the appliqué blocks. It does NOT include any of the cotton needed to complete the project.
• FULL KIT: As the name implies, my “FULL Kit” option includes both the cotton and wools needed for the entire “Countdown to Christmas” quilt, including the background fabric! When ordering, you will also have the choice of either a solid or scrappy version.
• BACKGROUND ONLY: You will need 8 yards of background fabric (Porcelain) to complete your quilt. If you only need to order background for this project and no other fabric, this option is for you!
Remember: If you purchase a kit from us, we’ll provide the pattern for FREE! Patterns will be sent in a downloadable format to the email on your Primitive Gatherings account each day. Sorry – printed patterns are not available at this time. Printed versions will be available once the stitch-along is complete! Please stay tuned to my blog and weekly LIVE shows for current updates and information about the “Countdown to Christmas Stitch-Along.”
