Ring in the Weekend with Primitive Gatherings!

Hey, everyone. Happy Friday to you! Is it just me, or does the week after a holiday always feel completely messed up? Tuesday feels like Monday, Thursday feels like Wednesday, and by Friday, you’re still not entirely sure what day it is. But hey, we made it! Whether you spent the week playing catch-up or just pretended to be productive, it’s officially time to embrace the weekend… And what better way than with the latest release from my Weekend Edition Quilt Series!?

I’m going to tell you right off the bat that December’s weekend quilt is probably one of the easiest you’ll ever make, but don’t let that fool you! Despite its clean black and gray palette and understated design, Shadow Quilt creates a stunning visual impact that’s anything but boring. It has a simple, yet elegant look without using overly intricate patterns or flashy elements. Instead, the design relies on the subtle contrast of black and gray to create an interesting effect. In other words, Shadow Quilt doesn’t scream for attention, but still visually draws you in with its mesmerizing geometric style.

Need a fast and easy gift for that special guy in your life??? Shadow Quilt is the perfect solution! This manly yet cozy flannel quilt is designed to be 72″ x 81″ when finished, but you can always customize it by adding extra fabric or ordering two kits to make it larger. And speaking of customization… If darker colors aren’t your thing, change it up! This pattern can work for an endless number of uses depending on how you make it look. Whether you want to keep it gray and black, or make it pop with vibrant color, Shadow Quilt will look stunning, no matter the colorway. Ready to make Shadow Quilt your next weekend project? Of course I’m going to make it “easy” for you to get your hands on… EASY is the whole idea, right?!? Patterns and kits are available on our website by clicking the button below!

Don’t forget… Each Weekend Edition Quilt has a video tutorial to go with it! Videos are posted on my STITCH with Lisa Bongean YouTube page on the day of the pattern release, and can be accessed under the “Quilt-Alongs” tab at www.lisabongean.com by clicking the “Weekend Quilt Series” icon.

Ahh, the weekend. I’m always glad to see it back! My plans for this one are… Nothing! The older I get, the more I embrace having no plans other than to Netflix and chill. I did hear that the ski hill Heidi spends her Saturday nights at is open for the season so I have the idea of skiing on a slow simmer in the back of my head, but – I think I’ll let Mother Nature put a few more inches of natural snow on the ground before I dust my gear off for the year. Maybe next week – LOL!

I’m on my way out of the studio for the night but it’s been a minute since I’ve picked prize winners for leaving comments on the blog, so let’s do it! Jill A. and Janet K. – check your emails! You know now I love it when you leave comments, so guess what! You win a prize for doing just that. Thanks again! Have a wonderful weekend everyone, and I will see you all next week! ~Lisa

Hi Lisa, yes it’s definitely been a crazy week and trying to figure what day it is. The only thing that helps me to know what day it is, is that I go to boxing three days a week for my Parkinson’s disease. I haven’t made a quilt in several months but am finally finishing the binding on the last quilt that needs it. I have noticed that hand sewing binding and cross stitching seems to help with my tremors. I never thought I would ever enjoy sewing the binding on but it’s actually been very therapeutic for me. I don’t want to take up all your time but I just wanted you to know how much I appreciate your videos, newsletters and everything you do for all of us. You are truly an inspiration!! Thank you again for what you do!!

Love this! Can’t wait to see what you and Moda come up with in the red department!
What red Kona and Bella coordinate the best with Dear Santa red fabrics? ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Hi Wendy! Not sure about Kona as we don’t carry that. As far as Bella goes, Country Red or Christmas will both go great with Dear Santa!
