Hey gang — Heidi here. I honestly didn’t expect to be hijacking the blog again so soon, but duty calls so here I am. It turns out the craziness of running a quilt shop/retreat center doesn’t slow down just because the boss is off living her best life 4,000 miles away. Believe me, I’m not complaining, but I should have known better to think we could go a full week without needing to make an announcement or two. That being said, I have a few additional tidbits to share with you before I can hang it up for the holiday weekend, which is a-ok — mon emploi est bien assuré!

First thing’s first — I need to apologize. In my last post I talked about how our Monthly Mini Quilt Series has officially come to an end, and that there would not be a mini quilt release for the month of May. Well… come to find out, that isn’t exactly true. Somewhere in the blur that was April, a memo went out regarding the series schedule which I obviously missed… not sure how that happened but it did, and I am sorry for the misinformation.

The true story of the matter is, there is in fact a Monthly Mini Quilt Series release coming out for May. Due to Lisa’s travels, the last quilt in the series, Cousin Mary, will just be released a few days late. The new release date is May 27th, 2026, so watch for her then. After that, we still plan to take a break for a couple of months to get caught up on some things around the shop, so there will be NO Monthly Mini Quilt Series release for June or July. Round three of the series will begin on August 23rd, 2026 — NOT July 23rd as I previously mentioned. Since we’re on the topic of delays, I should also mention that due to a fabric delay, the May release for Val Krueger’s All About Quilts Fat Quarter Series is also not quite ready to go yet. Aside from that, all I know is we’re “expecting it soon” and that I will post it at www.lisabongean.com under the “Quilt-Alongs” tab as soon as it arrives.

Moving forward, a lot of you have been asking for details on Lisa’s “Antique Quilt and Pillow Series.” I just wanted to mention that we do indeed have this series in the works as we speak, including an official name. As soon as we have everything squared away I will be adding all the details to Lisa’s Quilt and Sew-Alongs page, which you can find at www.lisabongean.com under the “Quilt-Alongs” tab.

Lastly, I have a couple of quick reminders for you before I go. The first one is that due to a rare cancellation. there is ONE remaining opening in Lisa’s Red, White, and Blue Retreat coming up this Summer. The opening is for the second session, which is Sunday, June 14th through Saturday, June 20th, 2026. If you’ve ever wanted to get in on this retreat but haven’t had the chance, this is it! This retreat sells out every year, which is why this year we decided to go with three sessions instead of one. Guess what — they all sold out too! In honor of Memorial Day we have special hours this weekend. The retail shop and The Gathering will be CLOSED Sunday, May 24th and Monday, May 25th, 2026. We will reopen for our normal business hours on Tuesday, May 26th, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. CST.
