Well, stitchers… here we go again! My love affair with tiny quilts continues with Round Three of my Monthly Mini Quilt Series. This next bunch of mini quilts is sure to keep you stitching something new every month, at least for the next year! If you’ve been along for the first two rounds, you already know how this mini series works. If you’re new to the series, don’t worry — I’ll give you the rundown before we get started!

For anyone who hasn’t joined in before, the Primitive Gatherings Monthly Mini Quilt Series is exactly what it sounds like — one new mini quilt pattern every month for twelve months. Each round gives you twelve different mini quilt projects to stitch, with patterns releasing on the 23rd day of each month. The projects vary a little in size, but they’re definitely all minis, making this a fun way to build a whole collection of little quilts without having to tackle one giant project at a time!

Like all of my quilt-alongs and ongoing series, you can find the full details for the Monthly Mini Quilt Series on lisabongean.com under the “Quilt-Alongs” tab, including Rounds One and Two. Each pattern is available as a downloadable PDF for $5 during the month it is released. Once the next mini comes out, the previous pattern remains available, but the price increases to $12. Printed patterns are also available for $8 upon request.

So now that we have the series details out of the way, let’s talk Round Three! Pixie Dust kicks things off with traditional Shoo Fly blocks, but on a much smaller, MINI scale. Each one is pieced with teeny 1/2″ half-square triangles that are the literal definition of small but mighty.

Color-wise, Pixie Dust dons a cool, earthy palette of blues and greens pulled from one of my most trusted go-to solid fabric collections — Moda’s Bella Solids. Not a fan? That’s ok too. This little beauty will look fab in whatever colorway you choose.

At just 18 1/2″ × 18 1/2″, this sassy little thing will undoubtedly require a certain amount of patience and precision, but don’t worry — that’s where my custom-designed Primitive Gatherings Triangle Papers come in! Sew cute, isn’t it? Anyway, in other news — have you been outside today? I really meant to get out and walk earlier but the minute I stepped out to go over to The Gathering for lunch, I knew that was going to be enough for me. Don’t get me wrong — I LOVE the hot weather, but this… this is a special kind of muggy. When the humidity gets to 99% like it was this morning, I don’t care what the temperature is. It’s just HOT and sticky and it makes me start thinking that a pumpkin spice latte on a cold autumn morning sounds suuuuper nice right about now. Ha — soon enough!
