Moda Blockhead No. 19

Whoo hoo…rollin along…today block is Lynne’s from Kansas Troubles Quilters…Click HERE to get the pattern from Lynne’s blog…

While Flying Geese are not my favorite to make this block was fun and easy!!!

This weeks question…Do you display your quilts in your home?  If so, how?…Don’t we all surround ourselves with what we love?  There I go…answering a question with a question?  But really I don’t know any quilter who isn’t covering or planning to cover all the horizontal or vertical flat spaces in their home.  In my home there are soooooo many windows, so not a lot of walls space to hang quilts…so I have to think of creative ways to get them out of the cupboards & closets and into the rooms…Its an early stormy morning and I’m on my way to walk through the house to see where the quilts are…We had a wonderful day with two sewing groups with a total of 45 quilters meeting here last night so the house is nice and clean!

Starting with the my sewing room as that is where I currently am blogging to you…ok…I could have picked this room up a little better…but I know you all understand…

Then the rest of the upstairs…

Upper outdoor living porch

Guest bedrooms
The king size quilt hanging in the stairwell…Jeter..photo bombing probably wondering why I am doing this so early in the morning…lol…

living room…sorry there is not a lot of light in this room

kitchen..

master bedroom….Nick was still sleeping so I didn’t take a pic of the bed…

lower outdoor living porch

quilt closet- most of these are antiques I have collected over the years…You could literally spend a day in here…

Thanks for staying this long and hanging out with the quilts current in my home…

my best…

Lisa

Go see everyone blocks!!!

Oh Lisa, I am loving that big king size star with the anchor in it. Is that your pattern or is a commercial one that I could purchase? you have such a beautiful home and to be right on the water is a true bonus. Thanks for the tour.

We had the winds and rain about 2:30 this morning but woke up to sunshine. I love your quilts about the house and I’m really impressed with the hangers! Can you give us more info on those beautiful hangers? Are they metal? They seem to be very sturdy. Also the wall with the little quilts is soooo coool! They look to be hung by old yardsticks. Can you tell us more about that? All our efforts seem to go into the quilts with little thought about how to display them when they are done. Your home is lovely and I think you have a good balance of quilts displayed along with the gorgeous views. I vote big windows every time! Thanks for sharing your great ideas and beautiful home.

Since you asked, what about an old-fashion wooden ladder that you could make with widely spaced rungs to hang your quilts on? Thank you for the beautiful tour of your quilts and the way you have them displayed. Hello from Iowa.

Hi Lisa, your home is gorgeous, and the quilts fill it with an aura of warmth and beauty. I like to lay my quilts over the furniture too, so one can grab and cuddle with them if desired. Though no where near as many as you, partly because I need to finish several of them, lol. I like where you hung your king Anchor quilt. Your quilt closet is a quilter’s dream. Nice to see them being enjoyed. Hugs, Jakey.

HI Lisa, what lovely photos!! I have an antique apple ladder where I change out, seasonally, smaller quilts and holiday table runners. Fortunate enough to have a balcony and usually hang 3 quilts at a time, also changing seasonally. Could you please tell me what you call those neat wrought Iron rods that swing out from the wall from which you hang some folded quilts? I would love to find those to purchase. Are they custom curtain rods? Thanks in advance for reading and answering!

Love all your quilts thru out your home. And your quilt room is to die for. Wondering if the wrought iron mini quilt rack on your table is something you sell at the store? You are such an inspiration. Wish I could get half as much done in a week as you do. Wish we were doing the retreat in November again this year at your retreat house with Vickie and Gloria. North Carolina sounds wonderful but I can’t make it work this year. Thanks for all you do.
