 D-4- 1”x 1 ½” rectangles

 E-1-1 1/2” square

F-8-1 3/8” squares cut in half once diagonally-* see note below…… If using TP to make HST you will still need 4 of these cut in half once to make Flying Geese with C unit.

G-4-1 3/8” squares cut in half once diagonally-*see note below

H-4-1 3/8” squares cut in half once diagonally

*F&G could be made using triangle papers ½” finished—remember 1 square of triangle paper makes 2 HSTs.

 Happy Stitching!

NOTE: Do not attempt to make these 4” squares unless you have saturated your fabrics with heavy starch…let them dry naturally…and then… iron them with steam to get them ready for cutting.

  37. Loved seeing you on Friday. Sorry I didn’t see the Sisterhood book. Will always buy from quilt shops first over Amazon.

  38. Hi Lisa:

Where do we apply to win the book? It looks a great one to use up scraps.

    Thank You,

  39. That video!! Love all the quilts. I have Lissa’s Oh!Scrap book and would love to add this one to my collection.

  40. I resort to the internet Giant, only after checking my local shops and requesting that they order the item in for me. If, and only if, they cannot order for me (due to a minimum quantity required or something similar) I then resort to the internet Giant. In Western PA, we’ve lost at least SEVEN shops in the last few years. I’d rather wait a few days and go pick it up, (who knows what else I might find while I’m there…!) than watch my local shop go under and contribute to it!

  41. Oh, my, gosh, every quilt is a stunner. Adding to my to do list! (which is already several pages long 🙂 ). I would be honored to win this book. Thanks for offering the giveaway! fingers crossed…

  42. Loved seeing you Road to California and picking up patterns for Indigo Gatherings my oreordee arrived when I got home! Love scrappy!

  45. Looks like I’ll be using triangle paper on this block. So much fun! Did the other two BlockHeads and looking forward to seeing this one finished. Thanks for the chance on the Sisterhood book.
And, LOVE the bi-monthly Wool Boxes; and the holiday box – Excellent! Two caramels are never enough. Guess I’ll have to order some from your website or chew slower as I make my way through all the fun things in the box.

  46. I love the block you made switched pieces and all!
Would love to win the book the quilts all look so great!

  47. I could not agree more with your assessment of ordering on line. We need all the wonderful things our local quilt shops offer and we need to support them. Thanks for the chance to win the book. It looks like another winner.

  51. I would love to win the book! The quilts featured are just awesome…. thank you for the chance.

  52. To me a quilt book is a treasure to enjoy over and over again. A SIGNED copy is a cherished keepsake to be passed to the next generation. I remain hopeful…..

  53. Sisterhood of Scraps… what a wonderful name for the book!
I didn’t see this book in your booth at R2CA.
I did purchase a book though in scraps.

    Thank you 😁

  54. The video was wonderful – thank you for sharing all that inspiration! Of course, I would love to have a copy – will wait and see if I have to order it???

  55. My favorite quilt from the cover is the top row right, the pretty pink one. I love it! I like all the quilts, that one just reaches out to me. Do you sign books that you have quilts in? I have a blue and white quilts book with one of your quilts in it, and wanted to know if I sent it to you, would you sign it for me?

    Thank you,

  56. The book looks like a good one. I love your B3 as you made it- the blue is just perfect! I need a blue quilt in my life now.

  57. Love your block! The dark background is really striking!

  58. great site! new to Moda Block Heads and so excited! Would absolutely love a copy of this book 🙂

  59. Love it! One way or the other, I’m getting this book! Scraps are like people, they CAN work well together even when it seems they don’t appear to agree.

  60. I agree with you about putting the shops out of business. I have had a struggle with notions since the “J” store is 14 miles away. 67. Thanks for the chance to be able to win such. Great book! You ladies look like you havw such a great time together! Jmh

  68. I love scrap quilts!! One of the most amazing quilts I have seen is one made by a friends aunt It was tiny nine patches all stitched by hand with the tiniest of stitches and had been stored unfinished for forty years I encouraged her to have it quilted put the binding on for her and she now has a quilt that gives her joy Can’t wait to use some of my scraps to make any of those quilts either by winning or buying Thank you for all you do

  69. I love the group shot from California! Thanks for the opportunity to win this new book — looks great!

  70. I enjoy sewing and quilting for my family and friends. Never have done entered anything in a contest or fair. Just enjoy for myself and friends, and family. Thanks for all you do.

  71. The Sisterhood brought to my life by shared love of quilts and fabric has truly blessed me. My “Sisters” are “scrappy”…different colors, styles, values and tones, some quiet, some bold, some orderly, some asymmetric. Some love applique, some piecing, some art quilts, and others traditional. Yet, we are bonded together with a common love of quilts. And now a love for each other…Sisterhood! I would be delighted to win the book!

  72. I’ve had my eye on this book since I first saw it. Scrap quilts are the ones that get used and loved the most therefore I NEED this book! I have the scraps!

  73. Such amazing inspiration in this wonderful book. Thanks for the chance to win! Also, I love your variation on Blockhead III–block #3.

  74. Lisa, I have a question on Blockheads 3, this weeks (Betsy’s) block. I am making the 4″ blocks, and am following your color placement. For this weeks block, should the dark I use for the background be a different dark then one of the darks I plan to use for the settings/sashings? From the picture you posted it looks like we will use two different darks and a light for putting the blocks together. Thanks….

  75. Beautiful quilts for my eyes. Cannot pick a favorite. Would love to win the book. Thanks for sharing a sneak peak.

  76. I would love to win The Sisterhood of Scraps by Lissa Alexander! There are so many quilts in this book that I would love to make. Thanks for the chance to be in the drawing. I appreciate all of your hard work and generosity for us all. Thank you.

  77. I so enjoyed seeing you at Road. The display of The Sisterhood of Scraps was a great chance to see the quilts in the book. It was also fun to see the master at work. All of those sheep you were stitching couldn’t be cuter!

  78. I’ve been eying The Sisterhood of Scraps book as a birthday present for myself. But my birthday isn’t until summer. Amazon can NEVER replace a visit to a good quilt shop.

  85. Scrappy quilts are the best! It would be a nice book own. We have to support our local quilt shops whether we shop in person or their online website. If we quilters don’t support our quilt shops – who will?? It’s a must – hands down. I just love your website but I have to confess that I first go to my local quilt shop and if they don’t carry what I’m looking for then I resort to online quilt store shoppping. Thank you for the opportunity to win this lovely book.

  86. Looks like a fun group to hang out with. The book would be awesome to own . Thanks for all you do!

    Pam K.

  90. First off, thank you for making 4 inch block information available for those that don’t already have them!
This book has been on my shopping list since it came out. I love scrap quilts, yet find it sooo much easier to accumulate the fabrics than figure out how to use them.

  91. Fabric scraps make me happy. Scraps quilts when finished always make me want to sing and dance. A chance to win a signed copy of this great book has me doing a happy dance. Thank you for a chance to win!
