It’s Friday…why not celebrate…just a little…at least!
When was in Houston I talked Dana, from Valdani to let me give-away a #5 wt thread pack… since we just ordered a sick amount of balls from her recently!
And early this week we got in a HUGE order at the warehouse… so we are busily putting away all those balls and boxes and if you have not used the 5wt Valdani thread yet… you will if you are doing anything Primitive Gatherings…. I just LOVE using them for my embroidery stitching… They make the stitches look so gooooood!
HOw to Enter the valdani thread pack giveaway:
So… pretty simple here…If you would like to get your name in to win this Valdani pack…Please leave a comment and let me know how many total(any weight)ย Valdani thread balls you have…10, 110 or 410! ย You can kinda guess if you don’t really want to count them…and the winner will not be based on if you have a lot or none… I promise… be honest and let see what everyone says!
I am just starting my collection of ValdaniโI have about 18 balls. I love wool appliquรฉ and have many projects on my โ to doโ list. Thanks for all of your wonderful designs!
I have about 80 spools in all different weights. I’ve been getting the wool boxes so I purchasing threads for those kits!! I love Primitive Gatherings. Thank you for all the wonderful things.
I don’t have a lot of Valdani threads, but once when doing a specific project where I needed one color throughout, I ordered 6 of the gold/yellow (don’t remember the number). I have close to 20 balls of Valdani thread and it is one of my ‘go-to’ threads for surface embroidery.
I think I probably have over 200, of mostly 12 weight, but many 8 weight also. I have about 20 of the 3strand thread also. I carry your Valdani thread book in my purse just in case I find a color I donโt yet have in my collection. I just found my first #5 ball a few months ago.
Oh my…I only have three balls. I have over 70 of another brand and just recently noticed how nice the colors are in Valdani. Today is my birthday so maybe I will treat myself to a box with the yummy soft colors.
I have only recently started working with wools and can’t wait to start that really cute little sheep wool project that I saw on your blog. I really don’t have many of the balls of thread yet but I am sure I will be adding to my collection soon!
I would love to try the #5. I have 8 and 12 only, love stitching your patterns and seeing you in Houston at quilt show! Oh, I probably have 40/50 balls all from primitive gatherings.
I have 3 of your boxes full plus so I a guessing about 250 balls love it and all the projects you have for us to use it!!!! I do not have any 5 so I need this box!!!!!
Working on your beautiful wool block of the week from last year now – so my stash of valdani thread multiplied with the thread pack that went with it – so probably 50ish
I Had my first experience with Valdani thread when I did the Moon flower BOM. I have loved using that thread and have already accumulated 67 balls of thread. Most of mine are size 12 and 8 and I need to try out the 5 size.
I have 15 balls of size 12 but none of size 5! I just found the Valdani brand on your website last week! Hopefully , your contest will help be build my size variety! Thank you so much for this opportunity, Lisa!
27, I have number 8 and 12 only. Would love to have the number 5 set offered.
Really missed the Primitive Gatherings booth at the Daytona AQS. Wasnโt worth the cost of admission without you!
What a lovely treat it would be to have more of the #5 threads! I too discovered how much better my stem stitching looks with the heavier threads. Plus I invested in your stitching book so now my stitches look more like they are supposed to. I did have your book spiral bound so I can avoid destroying the binding .
I have the thread kit from the primitive garden bomb, plus 2 more of your boxs full of more!
I have about 50+ balls, but I always add to this number when I start new projects. Just love the thread!
I enjoy working with the different thread thicknesses.
I have around 50-60 balls of Valdani threads from over the years โ and I can proudly say that I have even seen the end of some of them (as in I have used up entire balls!) I did two of your early-designed large quilt projects – Primitive Garden and the one that followed … I am currently working to finish Moon Garden while also working on a couple of small bowl fillers (I have ADD! Ha!) I am on the last block of Moon Garden and doing the setting squares in the sashes! Yay! Even though wool can sometimes make me sneeze – I can’t stop working with it ๐
Only about 10 – so far! – but growing! I do have a ton of floss though from way back in the counted cross stitch days, which I understand is making a comeback too.
I have 100+ Valdani threads, mostly #12 weight, not a lot of #8, and only a smattering of #5 and 3 strand. I would love to add these beautiful shades to my collection.
I am sad to say I have only two…a beautiful cranberry and a green size 8. It is NOT because I donโt desire MORE; but, because I have been trying to use up my grandmothers pearl cotton and floss.
I only have about 3-4 balls for a wool project I havenโt gotten to yet, but Iโm sure winning would inspire me to get busy doing some stitching. ๐ Thanks for the chance.
I have 135. I started stitching last year after I was inspired by the beautiful projects I saw on the cruise to Rome. I subscribed to the wool boxes and have been building my collection by ordering the suggested threads every other month. So much fun!
I have 27. All 5 weight and a few stragglers. I know this because the shelf where they were stored ,fell and sent them and the bin down to the floor. Cracked the bin, they rolled every where along with a gallon jar filled with buttons. Needless to say, they are now tidy in a new bin, on a new shelf.
I have 31 valdani threads. I have a lot of Emb. Floss so I use that a lot also. I love valdani the best but try to use what I have. Also want to say I love being part of the PG wool box.
I carry mine in a large clear plastic bag in my wool sewing tote that I take to my hand sewing group. It was bugging me to know so I had to go dump it and count, 143 all 12’s and 8’s. NO 5’s so would love to try them.
Well? It does not matter how many Valdani threads you have —-Cuz a person can never have too many! But I do keep mine in Primitive Gathering containers that hold 48 ish balls. We know the ROYGBIV Color Pallette consists of 7 colors with Black and White not included. Most of my 10 containers are full and 10 times 48 is…..Oh Dear not enough!!
I have at least 150 balls of valdani thread. Probably more but Iโm not counting. I use them for punchneedle, embroidery and stitching wool projects. The colors are so yummy and I love them.
I am one of the deprived people who do not have any Valdani threads. I have been using DMC embroidery floss, and while I have wanted to try Valdani, I haven’t yet. I would love to try it.
Hi, I have about 40 spools of Valdani. I have tried other brands but I use Valdani most of the time. I love the finish and variety of colors. I am in love with variegated colors. I would be thrilled to ad add to my stash. Please pass along the tip you shared on the cruise a couple of years ago about putting the thread through the label. It has saved me so many times from not knowing what color or weight I am using.
Well that’s easy! I have Zero. But wool stitching is something I’m interested in. I did embroidery as a young girl and loved it. So this could send me on my way.
My count (exactly) of Valdani threads is 93. You can never have too many. The colors are so luscious and rich, I’d never consider stitching with anything else.
I only have about 70..ish. maybe a few more since I ordered your quilt kit with the sheep…love love this thread… and will be wanting to order and try the new 5 very soon!
I started collecting valdani after you visited my guild about 10 years ago and I took a class with you. I probably have over 200 balls…..just recently started using the heavier weights on a more regular basis.
I currently donโt have any, but Iโve wanted to try them. I wasnโt even sure what to start with, so a small assortment like this would be fantastic ๐ฅฐ
Hi Lisa.
I have about 30 valdani balls of thread, mostly #12 and #8. Only 2 #5 balls so I would love to win some. ๐
Went to the Mountain Quiltfest in Pigeon Forge and bought some Indigo Gatherings and Urban Farmhouse fabrics plus a wool kit of baskets with red flowers. I love it! Amy and Jake were helpful and the booth was very busy. I hope you will be back next year and maybe even come with to teach. Love your designs! ๐ค
Please everyone say a prayer for those here in middle Tennessee who lost loved ones, were injured, or lost their homes or businesses from the tornadoes Tuesday morning.
God bless.
Gayle in Tennessee
Recently bought your book WOOL, NEEDLE & THREAD. I bought some thread and am on my way to a new love. Have 6 colors and would love more. Thank you for the opportunity. Love all your work.
I think I have about 150 balls of valdani. I just love all the colors! Size 5 threads are what I need most…the majority of what I have are size 12. Crossing fingers!
well around 163ish and still have room for more. I love working with this tread it makes every stitch look good. I love the book I received I think in the Christmas box that has a place to keep track of your thread. That way I can just open the book and see if I have the color. Thanks Primitive gatherings .
Due to the wonderful SBOW I have just under 100. #12 & #8. Don’t think I’ve tried any #5 yet. Those thread boxes are so cute. Need to get back to some evening slow stitching, I have basket blocks to finish!
i’m a bit late to the valdani world and have 43 total so far. most all are 12 weight with only one 5 weight, so this giveaway would be wonderful to win. i do enjoy working with them and love the rich color and varigation choices. thanks for the opportunity!!
I have only a very little few! I have only completed a couple projects and have several more kits that Iโve bought in the past year.
Thank you always for your contributions to the creative world!
Carol
I have about 250 balls of Valdani thread. I had not used these much until I โstumbledโ across Primitive Gatherings and the really cool kits for table mats. My collection of Valdani thread grew when I joined the PG Woolbox subscriptions. Love working with wool, needle and thread.
Oh Lisa, without counting, just considering how many projects I have purchased from Primitive Gatherings, Iโd say around 100 or maybe even a few more, I love working with Valdani, sews like a dream.
Wow what a nice Friday Surprise! Just counted, and I have 37. Wished they had a grey/grey…Lovely colors in the โgive-awayโ box. Thank you for sharing.
I have about 75 but most of them are #12 and #8. I do have some #5 due to last summer’s block of the week! It was nice trying a new weight of thread on that project! What a great giveaway!
embarrassingly probably more than I should have, but I always need more….I have five or six of those Primitive Gathering boxes (the ones that came with the SBOW when you ordered thread) full….so maybe about 185! By the way, I need more thread. There are always colors I don’t have.
I just started this hobby a year ago, and I have only 5 Valdani’s, but I love them and totally see the difference in quality between them and other brands. I plan to gradually build my collection of colors, but would love to win this box of Valdani thread.
Love love Valdani!๐ Iโm at a quilt retreat so will estimate 200, but guessing more. Keep adding all the time. My preferred pattern company to go to is Primitive Gatherings. Must have Valdani colors to give me satisfaction of desired look for projects completion. Youโre wonderful!๐ love your Blog.
I think I have about a dozen balls of Valdani left, I am not stitching as often as I used to, but still love to look at my threads and wool. The colours are wonderful!
I have roughly 70 of the valdani threads, mostly in the 8 and 12 weight. I would love to gather some of valdani’s floss weight (6 strand) for cross stitch. I just recently picked up cross stitching again after 20 years! Don’t know why I ever stopped!
I hate to admit but probably at least 200! Iโve been collecting a long time, but itโs all I will use. Just started last year w #5, and I love it for the embroidery wrk!!! You have taught me soooo much!!!
I’m so glad you ordered more, I just ordered some from you during your sale for my projects I got with the Christmas wool box and you were out of two of the colors I needed! I think I might have 12 – 15 balls. I’m just getting started so I don’t have a lot. I did get your wool stitching book and it is fabulous. I’m retiring soon so I hope to really dive into this world of wool applique!
Valdani is beautiful thread, and I LOVE working with it. Have not tried the 5 wt yet, so I would love a box. I counted and I have 17 balls in my thread holder and another 10 stored with kits. Thanks for the opportunity and your enthusiasm!!
Started collecting the Valdini thread with your Moon Garden BOM and now I’m hooked on wool and the thread! Just finished a big quilt that is being hand quilted with Valdini #8 … its going to be just beautiful. So, that means several boxes of thread are on my shelf … at least 125 balls of all sizes and colors and of course I am willing to have more! Thank you so much for the giveaway and all your beautiful work and sharing!
I have about 170 Valdani thread balls and love all of them. I do have to keep mine put away because my cats think the pretty balls of thread are their toys.
I have some 3 strand for punch needle and a few colors of size 8 for big stitch quilting, but havenโt tried size 5. Sounds like I need a new project.
I love to use Valdani threads. I have about 65 balls, mostly 12 at. I usually buy as I need them. There is not a store around me that has a great selection so I order from you.
Lisa this is a fun contest. I have often wondered how many Valdani threads I have. Because I have your Valdani thread book it was easy to find out! I have 297! And I must admit, room for more! Itโs the only thread I use โค๏ธ
Lisa, I have about 100 Valdani Threads. I would not have any if it was not for you.l
took my first Wool class with you in Hampton Va.I have used #5, as it was in the SBOW 2019. To be honest I love all Valdani thread. The colors are awesome .
We have many!! Many as we use them in your projects!! We keep them in the containers you sell which we love!!! Would love to add these to our collection!!! Cindy
I have no Valdani threads as they are not sold in my area (Louisiana.) I am currently working on the white tulip Welcome banner from Primitive Gatherings and have been wishing I had some of your thread to complete this project!
I am a new follower and love your tutorials, books and everything embroidery! I was able to purchase a couple of valdani balls locally and an anxiously await the arrival of my shipment from Primitive Gatherings of 7 more beautiful colors of valdani thread. So I will have 9 colors!!!!
I’d have to go through two drawers and count them all – but I can tell you it’s a LOT. I love Valdani thread, and have from the very beginning – years ago. It’s my “go-to” thread when I work on wool projects and the best around. I prefer size 8 or 12 for what I do, but would love to try #5. Great stuff !
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Valdani for my wool stitching! I didnโt count, but Iโve gotta have at least 50 balls. When I consider that Iโve only been stitching for 2 years, Iโm well on my way to 400+! ๐ณ๐คฃ
My first wool appliquรฉ I made with your Lisa,s Flowergarden, and since than I was falling in love with it. My stash on the embroidery thread is not so big I only have 33 , but I hope I will buy more because I was falling in love with it.
I have 56 Valdanti. I agree with Cindy I keep then in the plastic containers you sell and love them. I can always know when to find them, and they are kept nice, need and clean.
I have over 100 different spools of this thread. When I see it somewhere I buy it like I am buying a box of Sees chocolates and individually pick each piece. I use them in all my projects. It is the best thread ever!
I just started using Valdani threads and I discovered what Iโd been missing! It is beautiful thread with a wonderful luster and feel. I have about 20 mostly #12 since I joined the Valdani club through Primitive Gatherings. Would love some #5 to try! Thanks!
I have about 30 colors in a combination of 5,8, and 12. I tend to purchase colors when working on a particular project. The threads shown are besutiful.
How many skeins of valdani thread do you need???? Just one more pack! I have appx 200, some duplicates because I like the colors I like and never have had a list of what I already have when at Paducah or at your shop in Wisconsin traveling through to Minnesota. Hoping you bring a couple of your thread journals to retreat in April so I can finally get organized.
I have never used Valdani threads, but those colors are beautiful! I have been wanting to try hand stitching on my quilts with your templates. This is on my wish list. Thank you for a chance to win!
I live in Omaha, Nebraska and I think I have about 25 balls of beautiful Valdani. We just got new carpeting & they are packed along with my entire sewing room in the basement! I would love to add more Valdani balls to my bin! Thank you, Lisa! โฅ๏ธ
Hi Lisa, love Valdani! I have about 60 #12 and only about 10 #5. Made the mystery crazy quilt so am really getting into doing more decorative stitches!
So how many valdani threads fit in your thread case? Ha-ha! I have 5 of those thread cases filled up and more not in a case. I just separated the threads by color, which cuts looking for the color I need in half. I am liking the thicker threads for embellishing stitches! So fun!
I stopped counting at 50 balls! I have mostly size 8 but also I have several 3 strand balls for punch needle. I have used Eleganza size 8, 5 and 3. So Iโd love to try Valdani size 5!! My Valdani is all kept in the nice flat containers you sell so I can easily find the color numbers and they store great!!
I have 0. However, my wonderful sister, Lois Wilhelm, graciously shares her supplies with me when she helps me with a small project. I can see why wool workers love this thread. I do a lot of quilting, just not much with wool—yet!
I have about 60 balls. Slowly building up since the PG wool boxes. Only 5 #5 weight because it is hard to get here. I agree just love the 5 wt. Certainly would love more.
I love stitching with Valdani Threads and I’m thrilled you’re doing a give-away! I have approximately 80 balls of Valdani, of which most are size 12 with only about 6 being size 5. Thank you for thinking of us!
Hi Lisa, I have about 100 balls now of Valdani threads. I would not have any if it wasnโt for you. I took my first Wool class with you in Hampton Va. I have more 12 and 8 then 5, but my SBOW 2019 had #5. To be honest I like all of the Valdani threads. The company makes awesome colors.
Hi. I think I have about 35. Slowly building my collection of gorgeous Valdani threads. They are the ultimate choice for me when creating my stitchery projects. Lisa provides so much inspiration and support for our needleworking community! Love her patterns and using Valdani threads make my projects so professional looking. Love the quality and colour selections. Keep up the good work.
I have been itching to take one of your wool stitching classes – this could be just the incentive I need to give it a try! (As if the sight of those beautiful shiny threads isn’t enough!!)
Wow, I just added them up and I have about 110 balls of 12 wt. yikes! And that is not counting the 3 wt balls or some that are tucked away in project bags. But Iโm alway up for more!
I hate to say. I have a five drawer cabinet filled and about 8 of your storage boxes full. My goal was to have one of every color. i use mostly 8 and 12 count for my wool stitching. My motto is that you can never have enough.
I believe I have about 50, but hope to increase my inventory. Never knew why people liked it so much, until I tried it myself. Now I know why…..it is the best. Thank you Lisa, for this chance to get more.
I have just started doing wool projects, and I only have 4 valdani thread balls so far. I know, pitiful. But I am planning on getting more. Thanks so much for the opportunity to win this give away!
I am fairly new to using perle cotton and all that was available was DMC. Now I have about 7 Valdani and love the textured color they give a project over the solid. I will buy Valdani from here forward.
You are so correct. This thread is the best. I’m just beginning to switch with wool and I love it. I have about 6 balls. Would love to win more. Thank You Nancy Huggins in St. Louis, Mo. where the sun is shining today. Happy Friday.
My collection is only about 45. There is always room for more and every project seems to require one more that you don`t have. It is always so fun to read the comments in these give alway. Thankyou Lisa for all you do for us.
I Have approx. 105. I love them all! Love how cute they are! The quality! The affect they have on stitching! Love my threads! Hope the Valdani angel is with me and I win more!!
I think I have more than 100! I need to write them in the little โjournalโ from PG so I can keep them straight & not duplicate too many!! Have them in the special wool box from Christmas!!
Hi: I try to buy these threads when I can afford it. I must say often I try to do the work with DMC and to make it look the same way but I see that the better threads make a difference. I do a lot of hand work and it’s not always possible to use the best .
Hey there, love Valdani thread….I came to a retreat in the Outerbanks as a quilter, and have become a stitcher. I have approx. 200 balls of thread. #12, #8 and 3 ply. Love it, Love it, Love, it!
I was surprised to count that I have 67 balls of Valdani in my Primitive Gathering boxes! I still consider myself a novice at wool applique, but my thread stash shows how much I love it!
35 beautiful colored balls 12 weight Valdani are in my collection and used when stitching some of the Woo Box projects. I need to try the 5 weight for accents. Thanks for a chance in the giveaway.
I was turned on to Valdani thread after taking one of your classes in Hershey PA a few years ago. I love am working at building my tread stash. I currently have 10 balls ๐
I love how you inspire me to do things I never thought I could do!! You videos are amazing a your new book Wool Needle & Thread has been so much help. Thank you.
I have about 40 Valdani ๐
I love valdoni…just starting to replace my life supply of dmc with valdani threads … adding #8 #12 …..have about 30 and ADDING! Thanks for the chance to win more๐๐๐Melinda in Montana
I love the 5wt you introduced me to with the Halloween pillows and the Dad and me reindeer pillow. I have about 50 balls total but only about 10of the 5wt. Thank you for doing this giveaway Lisa.
Sandy
Hello! I am embarrassed to say zero – I’ve been meaning to order some as I do wool and do not like using floss – with multiple threads it is always tangling! Thank you for the giveaway!
My collection of Valdani thread numbers 35 balls of 12 weight. I’ve used them to stitch on the Wool Box projects. The 5 weight would be a good addition. Beautiful colors in the giveaway box. Thanks for the chance to win.
Would love to add these #8s to my thread collection of over 300 items, including the Perle cottons and the embroidery and wool floss. Love their products since I placed my first order in 2009!
need to try the #5 have about 10 in the #8 I also need to take the classs at Murrieta so I can feel better about my stitching. Have done a lot of embroidery but not a lot on wool.
Black sheep, black sheep, have you any Valdani thread? Yes, oh yes, about 4 PG boxes worth (150), I said. โฆโฆ.and I would LOVE to add more 5 weight!
Ohhh! Thanks for the chance at the Valdoni! I have 125 balls right now. I have a list on my phone of ones I have and another list of ones I still need. This way, I’m prepared whenever I see PG at a show.
I lovelovelove the Valdani threads! I probably have about 40 and they are all #12 weight. Got my order today for 2more fun projects from you. Thanks for your hard work and passion for all things quilty.
I have 193 Valdani threads and that is a rough count! Finishing up Moon Garden last border and will need to order more and that is so much fun! Getting pressies in the mail is delightful…..
Based on my unofficial guesstimate it would be 333. I have 4 of your storage containers full. Plus a bunch in the projects I am working on. I love Valdani and so does my kitten. She is constantly trying to get it!
Not sure what weight the balls are, but I think I have about 9-10. Iโm somewhat new to sewing with wool, I have a bunch of patterns and kits. Iโve finished a wool table mat from a Primitive Gatherings kit, it came out great for my first project. I wish I had more time to stitch, itโs so calming. Happy Friday!
As of last count I had around 250 various sizes! I love my Valdani threads! I have just started collecting some #5โs and getting quite a few 8โs now to!!i also love the look of the 5โs& 8โs.
OMG! I am afraid to admit but I probably have close to 300. I would purchase the packs for quilts of yours that I was doing then of course just add to my collection because you never have just the right shade! Lol! So why not add to my collection!! Thanks for the opportunity!!
I have about 15 or so balls of Valdani threads. I LOVE how lovely they make my applique work look………nothing better than country and cozy handmade creations for my home!
I don’t have any! I have used DMC Snow White for my Hardanger for years, because it is available in town, but there’s no Valdani to be had locally. I would love to try some, especially after my recent foray in wool applique during the Sewing Bee!
I have 134 – mostly 12 and 8, very little 5. Every time I get a box, I just add more to my stash of Valdani!
I canโt wait for the next box – I am almost finished with everything from the January box – a first for me!
Just getting started! I’ve been collecting them for my mom who is getting ready to start her 1st ever project of this type. She’s been quilting for over 50 years!! So, that said, I think we are now up to about 30 balls and searching for more. They are not easy to find in store and she’s not much of an online shopper. I also think she’s enjoying the hunt! LOL
I have enjoyed using the Valdani threads I own which is now 28 balls, they are beautiful. I hope to get more soon, but as I am on a fixed income, I can only buy a few at a time. Thanks for offering the giveaway, maybe I will be the lucky one who wins them.
Not sure how many valdani balls I have. I have 3 Primitive Gatherings thread boxes full and need to start a 4th. So, close to 100?? But you can never gave enough and it seems you are always missing several for the next project.
Thank you Lisa for the chance to win this beautiful box of size 5!!
I have 84! And can you believe that almost half of them are various shades of green! (My favorite color, of course!) I’ve tried other brands but Valdani is certainly my favorite.
Hmmm, I have 3 Full (42) PG thread boxes and 1 box with a few more. Math tells me that is 130+. Heart and mind say that is not enough. Size 5 is so great for colonial knots in my Wool Box, 2019 SBOW and all my other projects. Thank you Lisa for the chance. ๐ค๐ป๐ค๐ป
I didnโt even know there were 5โs! Wow! I have about 25 8โs and 12โs which I love to use. I so enjoy wool appliquรฉ, it would be wonderful to see how these 5โs look.
I LOVE Valdani thread! I probably have around 100 balls of thread currently, but thanks to you, Lisa, my collection of threads keeps growing all the time. I love what you do and your creative use of colors in your projects. Keep up the great work!
I have probably around 50, mostly #12. I have one #5 that I got in a wool box, so that is the only of that size I have. I do love wool & I do love Valdani, so I would think I had died & gone to heaven if I won. Thank you for a chance to win.
I have about 75 but like fabric one can never have enough Valdani thread no matter the size. I always need a color I don’t have when working on a project. Thanks for a great giveaway.
Just counted, 12 of those pretty balls, in a pretty old jar on my coffee table. I keep them there cause they are so pretty to look at. I remember the first Primitive Gathering I kit bought, in Reno, at Windy Moon Quilt Shop. Those beautiful fall colors of the wool. And the gorgeous ball of thread. A treat for my eyes, for sure. And so began my love affair with primitive. Thank you so much
Fun giveaway! I have about 20 but would LOVE to have every color and size. I love the texture and color of these threads but they do not sell them close to me.
What a fun idea! I have probably around 150ish valdani. Mostly #12 but i have been collecting #8 and #5 lately. My collection has grown since subscribing to the PG wool box! I have made so many projects and I can tell my stitching is getting better.
I am proud to say I am a Valdani Collector! I have at least 75 balls of 12 weight and am now getting in to using 8 weight. I love it and look for new colors at all the Quilt shops I visit!
Please pick Me, Me, Me, Me, Me, Me, Me, Me….. I have #12, #8, #5 and #3, probably about 50 altogether. Love these threads, so Please pick ME! Thank you very much for the giveaway.
I have own 20 balls of Valdani threads. I have a weakness when it comes to fabric and threads–I like to own the “whole” series but try to limit myself. Hence I have been doing a good job with the threads thus far! Owning more would be fantastic!
I have about 300 balls of thread nearly 50 of 8 weight and a dozen each of 5 and 6 strand. I started with all 12 weight but am moving on more toward the heavier threads. Thanks Lisa for all your patterns and the enjoyable SBOW S.
Oh my. I started collecting when I started buying your wool kits then BOWS , so for the last 10 years or more. Iโll just say I have 10 of your thread boxes and 8 are full. I have some of all sizes. I love them
I just bought my very first valdani when I visited your booth last year’s Paducah! I only have about 15, but wanting more. I just started wool applique, and not only do I absolutely love your patterns and kits, but the Valdani thread, especially the variegated, really bring the applique to life! I am looking forward to visiting your booth again in April at Paducah! I am loving your blog, and get so inspired seeing all the photos. Have a wonderful day
I just got started with embroidery using valdani threads because I thought I was allergic to PG kits using wools but found out that Lis’a wools DO NOT CAUSE MY ALLERGIES TO FLARE UP. Yippee. So I have about 50 threads and I love the handwork on wool.
I wish I could say I have some. Sad to say- I have not experienced the pleasure.. However I would love too.. Shelby Boris- in the beautiful Upper Peninsula of Michigan.. Where it is very White..
I must have close to 100 threads. I keep them in a matchbox car case you recommended years ago at a crazy quilt Christmas stocking retreat. Would love some #5 thread. Only have a few from Moom Garden. Barb
I donโt know the exact number, but way over 50. I keep the #12 in a large beautiful straw basket. I put them in little plastic bags so it wonโt be a tangled mess. In another basket I keep #8 & #5 thread. They are mainly from the summer block of the month last year. In my basket I keep my thread book you recommended. It was such a good buy so I know what I have. I have saved much money by not buying thread when I already have 2 balls. I often choose different threads than the pattern. Then I go through my basket choosing the right ones.
I have 24 total with some almost gone. Those are my favorites which happen to be in the green family. Plus I use those most for greenery and leaves. Valdani is my favorite go to thread for embroidery. Love the way it looks and holds up.
I would guess at least 150 but so many are in different projects that that is an estimate. Love Valdani and the needle assortments you offer. Cloudy today so great day for stiching.
At last count, 185 balls of Valdani, divided amount 12s, 8s, and 5s. Varied amounts of floss, 3 and 6 strand. Making a list for needed numbers to order now!
Wow! What beautiful colors! I don’t have any but I do want to try using them to embroider. I just watched a utorial on roses yesterday and now I need to make them!
Hey Lisa! I have 3 in different weights for special projects. Would LOVE to have a collection like I do w/regular quilting thread! Thanks for having this giveaway and the opportunity for ur fans & customers to add to their stash & Perle collection
I have 15 Precious Valdani thread balls size 12. YES my stitches are more consistent. I actually have them stored separate as I try to use my plain colors of pearl cotton.
Hi Lisa, I subscribe to your Wool Box and love getting a ball of valdini. I have about 40 balls on 12 weight. Boy they add up quick!! I don’t have any of the 5 weight so would be very excited to win the box and try them!!
Thanks to belonging to your wonderful Valdani Thread club I have a wonderful assortment of colors in 8 and 12wt. Now I need to get on board on the 5wt!!! I bet I have at least 350 …the best threads ever!
This was an eye opener! I have double sided thread storage boxes that hold 48 on each side. Plus I just bought a new one that that has 24 in it at the present time. So 504 not counting the ones that are in projects waiting to be stitched and I have an order arriving soon for the up coming wool box!!! I have the majority in #12 …one box( both sides) in #8 and one side of box in #5 and a sprinkling of 3 strand! Love Valdani threads!
Wow so many replies. I have whatโs left of the thread kit from my Urban Rose quilt and maybe 10 more that Iโve purchased. Love working with their variegated thread๐ฅฐ
I’m sorry to say I have no Valdani threads. The first of your projects I have done is Square Deal and I love it. So I am looking to do others. My friend introduced me to your blog and I enjoy all the emails and seeing the projects everyone is working on.
I have to confess, that I don’t have any. I used to embroider a lot, and am thinking about teaching my granddaughter too. So I guess I will have to try some. Thanks for the opportunity.
I love Valdani threads! Since my threads are usually hanging out with the works in progress and not in my carrier, I checked out my Primitive Gatherings thread book……I have 35.
This wonderful thread was new to me until about 2 years ago when I purchased one of your patterns in a kit from a local fabric store. Since that beginning I am hooked. I now have about 45 combined spools of #10 and #12. Need to find a larger and better storage container. Beautiful thread.
Hi Lisa! I have to be honest, I have never tried Valdani thread . Always used DMC floss. Would love to try Valdani thread, as the colors are beautiful!
I love Valdani threads and have around 60 balls of assorted weights. I just showed my students how to use it in their machine for bobbin work. I love Valdani for my wool applique and embellishment work on my quilts.
Love Valdani thread. I have approximately 130 balls of thread in #12, #8 and #5. Love them all. I use them on my BOM and BOW from your wonderful store.
I have about 100 balls of Valdani. Very few size 5. The only time I used size 5 was on my Urban Heirloom Rose. Really like the texture it gives. Valdani is my favorite Perle Cotton.
Valdani is my favorite , when I have to substitute because I am out of the right color, I am not happy. It is just so great to work with, especially with wool applique. I have about 50 in the 8 and 12 gauge and would love to try the #5. Thank you for all the hard work you do and don’t ever quit designing.
I tried it for the first time while at a retreat just this January and just loved it. I only have 2 balls but there will be more in my future. It’s such a dream to work with.
I loved counting my 55 balls of Valdani thread. The name alone evokes exotic richness. Thank you for all the things you share with us that make our quilting adventures so rewarding.
I have a whopping 53, I say in jest, as itโs seems rather meager when I see all thatโs offered. With my $25 Christmas Wool Box bounce back coupon and your 25% off Valdani threads recently, I ordered about 25 more balls, and your little book for keeping track of threads! Also..vanilla caramels… shhh! Weโll say nothing of that! I canโt wait until they arrive, and I didnโt ordered #5 weight so itโs okay if you send me some me freebies! ๐

Wow, I never saw so many comments! I have four drawers full with over 50 in each of mostly 12 wt. and some 8 wt.
I think I have a few 5 wt., but have not tried yet. Quite a few 3 strand for punch needle, which I am giving to a good friend of mine, since I cannot punch anymore.
I must have around 65 of mostly 8 & 12 wt. They are just so wonderful to work with and come in such beautiful colors. They are my favorite for wool projects. Thank you for offering this giveaway!
I have 50 balls total of mostly 12 wt with a few 8wt. I’m fairly new to wool work so my collection is still growint. Have not tried the 5 wt yet but would love to win this prize so I can give it a try. The colors are beautiful.
Hah! I was just at the Menasha shop yesterday and saw all those balls! I bought three to add to my collection of about 20. Happy to support the beautiful people and country of Romania and Primitive Gatherings!
Gee didnt realize until I looked that I may have around 75 of various sizes. Used to use DMC 12 wt. but there is no comparison so I gave those all away.
Iโm at work but I would guess about 30-40. Valdani is my favorite thread as I started using valdani when I ordered thread kits for my block of month from PG.
I have well over 250 12# valdani and at least 30 8# valdani. I love the choices of colors and weights. It really helps enhance the quality of my wool applique.
Iโm out of town so canโt count what I have in my boxes. But I have on my phone a number chart so I stop buying the same colors all the time. It says I have 69 but Iโm sure that is not right I will have go back and check my chart. I love this thread and have used it for years. I store my threads in your wonderful thread boxes.
Iโm fairly new to gathering Valdani thread so I have about 50, but gathering more to use with each new PG kit! Theyโre (kits and thread!) so beautiful!!
I’m right around a couple hundred but less than 1/2 dozen in the #5. I think I’d like to buy more of the heavier weight. Awesome stuff. Like crayons, can never have enough colors. Love Valdani!
I am new to using wool and Valdani threads. I have only 1 ball of Valdani thread so far! Getting more of these beautiful threads is on my list for 2020!
Your little book makes keeping track of the colors and weight of my Valdani thread so easy. I am at the beginning of my journey with wool and presently have 66 wonderful colors and weights.
I got the Valdani Thread Book from PG for tracking my thread colors and weights. Out of curiosity I counted them while logging. I’m ashamed to say 274 balls of thread and I just ordered more. Oh well I use them all the time and love the 5 weight since I’ve learned to embellish my wool projects. Every time the PG Wool Box comes, I get out my thread book and see what I need!
I have around 100, the best book I have to keep track is your ” My Soul is fed with my Wool needle and thread ” book. I love it and highly recommend for anyone with a thread collection
I am new to wool appliquรฉ since I started receiving your wool box. I love Valdani threads and just have 13 balls. Thanks for this opportunity to win more!
I would say Zi have well over 150 in all sizes. I mainly have 12 but a few 8 and even less in size 5. I am just finding the size 5 works for the wording on so many of our projects from you! Would love some colored size 5 as think I only have black and cream. Thanks!,
Well…I hate to say this but I don’t have any Valdani thread. I am just getting into some wool stitchery and haven’t tried very many types of thread. Would really like to try the Valdani! Thanks!
Wow!! What a great giveaway!! Thanks for not asking us to count as some are tucked away in works in progress. When I grow up I want to be like you and complete a project when I start it!! =:). So my estimation is about 150.
I love Valdani threads, they are so great to work with and the colors are beautiful. I must have 60 to 70 balls of different weights. Thanks for the opportunity to win more.
Love Valdani threads; I have ……120 with about 2 dozen coming from PG, hopefully any day. Looking through my “My Soul is Fed with My Wool, Needle, and Tread” book size #5 is the what I am lacking. What an amazing prize!
I must have 50-70 different Valdani spools. My favorites are the variegated. Seems like I am always in need of a color I donโt currently have. Love, love, love all of your wool projects and have made several.
I am new to Valdani thread–and to wool! Looking at all the comments, I am missing the boat by not having any Valdani threads. Thanks for the opportunity to win but I will, without a doubt, be buying some too.
Perfect timing! Just this morning I was looking at hand embroidery patterns. Itโs the first hobby I learned as a kid, and I still love it (but have never done much). I have some stuff my Mom did, and want to start doing more. I will need to add to my meager 17 balls of Valdani.
I am sorry to say donโt have any. They are so beautiful, love the colors. They are not sold where I live and it is hard for me to get around and go out to shop. I love doing wool. Thank you for the chance to win.
When I started wool appliquรฉ I bought a box of 12 colors thinking that should do. Little did I know. I now have three boxes that hold 128 in each not totally full and sometimes I still look for the perfect color. I probably have around 225 balls of valdani.
I have over 200 of the 12 weight balls. Iโm now using 8 and 5 weight more for embellishment of wool Applique. I have about 50 of the 8 weight. Not many of the 5 wt because I just began to collect. I wish that more shop thread kits would accommodate a choice to get the threads in 8 and 5 weight for those of us who like to embellish with embroidery.
I have 20 balls of wonderful Valdani thread. My grandparents came from Romania where it’s made. Maybe I have relatives making this thread everyone enjoys.
Good Morning… This was interesting. I have MANY…. I went in to count one of my Primitive Gathering thread containers and it had 67 and I have 3 of them full… I laugh as when I pack them in, it is like putting panty hose on ~ a tight fit….
I have about 50 balls of Valdani thread. I love working with it. I think I have a good selection until I start another project and I am missing a color or weight lol.
Iโm just getting started on wool embroidery and havenโt gotten any valdani yet, Iโll be starting out with a few colors to begin with and build on that. It is beautiful .
Valdani is my very favorite thread. I probably have close to 50 in different weights. Once you use this thread, you use it all the time. I would love to win this collection and I know it will be so much appreciated! โค๏ธ๐โค๏ธ
Hi Lisa, I did had 2 of my own (a black and a white) and just recently inherited my mom’s collection which is approximately 20. She passed away last month and previous to her illness, we would work on projects together. I would do the piecing up front, she would add the wool design and stitching, and I would finish with the quilting and binding. It may be a little while before I pick up the wool part but I have all her materials for when I do.
Thank you!
What can I say..No matter how many Valdani threads you have, it will never be enough! I only have about 40 but I am always looking at the beautiful colors they have!! If I were to ever win the lottery, I would buy one of each color…A girl can dream!!
Hello Lisa: I have around 120 in different weights. This thread is so nice to work with – especially on all of your wool applique quilt kits I have ordered from you and are in various stages of completion. Love your designs!
I’ve been doing the SBOW now since 2014. This last summer, the creative embroidery stitching made the blocks look just awesome and I loved learning the new stitches. I didn’t order many of the size 5 Valdani threads, especially If I had it in another size. HOWEVER after using them, you are totally right, the 5 weight threads look much better and are more fun to use in the embroidery! I have probably 50+ Valdani threads, only 7-8 of these are size 5 though. This is a fabulous giveaway, thanks for the chance to win!!
Love working with Valdani, I have over 100 but under 200 not going to try and count them. I don’t have many of the #5 floss yet but slowly adding them, this box would really help. thanks for all the great projects Michelle Devitt
should I be embarrassed to admit that I have kitchen storage jars filled with Valdani in all sizes? There must be about 300 plus but I always need more to keep my supply replenished.
I probably have about seven balls of thread. But, when I purchase the thread, I put it with the fabric I’m using to make whatever the project is. So, considering most of us have so many projects stored away for future…I may have more than seven. LOL!
Trying again thought I had posted a comment but seems like I goofed and it didn’t post! I have A LOT…. lol I’ve been using Valdani awhile now (yep you got me hooked). Most of my collection is 12’s but I also have a lot of 8’s with a few 5’s tossed into the mix. I would love to win the box of 5’s, thanks for the chance to win!
Lisa I don’t have any and really would like to try them out. I do a little punch needle and have heard they are great. I really would like to do some hand quilting on a top that I’ve got too. ๐
I have used Valdani for many many years. Actually it’s all I use-i have converted many in our group to loving Valdani also. I think I have about 250 spools in various sizes. I broke my arm in 3 places at quilt group on Feb 17th. my shoe caught on the carpet and I hit the base of a chair at an awkward position. I had a lengthy surgery a week ago. I am missing stitching at night so ver very much. Collecting dream ideas!!
I only have 180 balls, all sizes included except for not counting 3 and 6 strand colors. I have another 30 or so colors on order. I love this beautiful thread. Lisa, you made it easy to count because I had only to use my little valdani inventory book. I try to be consistent in recording thread numbers as they are received. Wish my days had more than 24 hours so I could spend more time stitching.
Since I just did the Wool SBOW last year, (love it!) my Valdani threads stash grew a little… I believe I have @30 colors in differing weights. Thanks so much for doing the giveaway!
I have 12 3-strand, about 15 12 weight, and 3 8 weight; no 5 weight. I am using the 12 weight right now to stitch out a pin cushion pattern I purchased from you that went on the border ends of a table runner (a class I could not attend at the time). I used my dad’s shirts for the table runner and it is looking pretty good, but taking me forever and I have to make a total of five so my brother and sisters each get one! Don’t know how the 5 weight would be for stitching due to thickness? I am intrigued though!
I have approx. 350 balls of Valdani thread. Mostly #12 weight but some are #8 and some are 3 strand. I love the variety of colors and how the thread makes my projects look. I’m always looking for new colors to add to my collection.
Well, I have a few. Maybe 50 of various weights, not nearly enough and not as many as you, lol. Love Valdani! Thanks for a chance to maybe catch up to you!
I have one but I’m not sure what weight it is. I’m really interested in doing some wool stitching this year so I bought a couple wool kits that I will take on our next road trip.
I just emptied a few drawers in my 6-drawer storage container on wheels to store my growing collection. I donโt have lots but My collection is growing and now I have a place for them.
I have 37 plus probably 10 more in project bags.
Total: Approximately โ47โ
I love Valdani threads. I use your handy dandy thread book to keep track of what I have. I’ve never counted before, kind of fun to tally them up – I have 285 – combination of #12, 5, & 8. Still lots of blank spaces and colors in the book.
I don’t have any thread balls of Valdani thread. I do have 97 spools of 50 weight thread! This is the Most Beautiful thread that I own. I use it for machine embroidery. I would still love to win a ball for hand embroidery.
So far I have 27 balls of Valdani. I love the color and texture it brings to a project. And I have your little booklet to keep track of it in! Everywhere I go, I tell people about that. Even got our local quilt shop to carry it :). So handy!
I have 18 balls of valdani thread in 8 and 12. Several of the 18 are duplicates because I was really unorganized about my thread colors. When I started a new project I would forget to bring my list of color #’s and would end up buying thread again. I just say that I was doing my part to keep quilt shops in business. I do not by my thread online but rather go into a quilt shop and oh the temptations. The giveaway does have colors that I do not have. I am now organized and keep my colors in note pad on my phone. Thanks in advance for providing a chance to win great products.
Sadly, this is the first time Iโve heard of this brand. I do embroidery all the time. I just use DMC floss. I love the idea. I hope I win, just to see what itโs like. Thanks for the giveaway and all you do for quilters and crafters.
I’m new to wool work but have managed to accumulate 28 balls which mostly come from the Heirloom Rose kit and the Like Father, Like Son kit. I had never used this kind of thread before and I am loving it.
I have 27. I tend to always go to the same few colors. The are my favorite. They are wonderful to work with and I cant wait to see what you are doing with them all.
I have about 4 balls of Valdani, and that is not enough! I tried it on a wool project and LOVED it, the colors, the weight, just about everything…..
I would be thrilled to win some more of this awesome thread.
I have just over 100 balls of 12 wt and close to 20 of 8 wt. They are in a special place where I can readily get at them to enjoy the colors. I love using them and love the projects I have created with them!!!
I have 76 balls that I have purchase since you started your wool box. 6 are 5 weight. It is the best by far for making your wool (Lisaโs wool box) stand out. I recieve many comments on it and have two friends now using your thread.
I have somewhere over 300 spools of Valdani assorted threads. Just recent,y realizing that they offer the #5, I have started collecting those colors too. I love the way that Valdani looks on all my projects. The colors are so rich, so primitive and have so much depth. No other thread compares.
I love valdani thread. I would guess I have 20+ balls of thread. I most often use 12. Sometimes 8 but #5 I have never tried for embroidery. I bet itโs beautiful. This is a fun giveaway. Thank you for doing it!!!
Hello! Thanks for giving us a great chance to win something wonderful! I have 22 real balls of Valdani thread and several snippets of different colors that come with different complete kits and the smaller balls from my Wool Boxes!
Hi Lisa, I count 89 balls of 12,8 & 5 wt. most of them are 12s. With the last summer block of the week I bought several and love the way they make my stitches look. Thanks!!
Karrie Dominguez
I love Valdani thread. I have 129 #12; 11 #8; 2 #5; 4 #3SF. A quilting buddy designed a storage area for my thread. She found an old metal card file that has 8 vertical drawers stacked 4 high side by side. Each drawer holds about 36 balls of thread. When I remove a ball of thread, I temporarily place a wooden marker with the thread number on it to mark the thread’s place. This way I can quickly return the thread to its home when I finish using it. Lisa’s wonderful thread organizer booklet helps me keep an up to date inventory of all my Valdani threads. The system is versatile enough to accommodate anticipated purchases. I love Valdani’s wide range of colors both solids and variegated.
Missed you at Mountain Quiltfest in Pigeon Forge today but I did visit your booth and bought three more balls if Valdani. All toll probably 50 balls. No a bad collection for a beginning woolen.
I have zero Valdani balls. Never even tried it so it would be awesome to win.
By the way, I met your son, Jake, at the Pigeon Forge quilt show yesterday! He was doing a great job! I told him how much I loved your house & how gorgeous the scenery appeared to be. When there was a slight pause in the customers, he went straight to your Farmhouse Gatherings book & found a picture to show me his favorite part about your house — the covered bench, loaded with your pillows! I thought that was so sweet! He’s obviously very proud of his mama! I think your booth was doing pretty good at the show, especially Wednesday, opening day! All the quilts hung on the outsides of your booth were gorgeous. Of course, the ones hanging inside the booth were wonderful too!
I didn’t count how many are in a plastic case, I have 1 PG plastic thread case with #5, 1 case with 3 SF, 1 case of #8 and 5 cases of #12 and then there are the stray ones with projects. I still need more LOL. Love the threads.
I love Valdani threads to stitch when making my wool projects! I have a small inventory of approximately 74 balls of wonderful Valdani threads, especially the thread kits on each of the special Primitive Gatherings BOWโs and BOMโs! I would love adding these beautiful #5 wt. colors of Valdani threads to my stitchery boxes.
I have 27 balls and they are all from Primitive Gatherings! I just got started on my collection… some are from the bi monthly boxes and a bunch from your store recently. I haven’t even tried any of them yet! LOVE the colors and looking forward to finishing some PG projects. I’ve really just begun!!
I bought my first Valdani from Primitive Gatherings! Started with a set of 48 #12 and have added another 48 – 50 balls. Can never have too many! The Valdani colors are luscious!
I have maybe 50. Iโve bought all of them from Primitive Gatherings for all the kits that I have bought from you. I hope I have a chance because I need more of a variety of colors๐คช๐คช๐คช๐คช๐คช
I absolutely love threadsโฃ๏ธI have a thread cabinet with 26 drawers and at least 10 balls of thread per drawer. But only one has #5 weight and it only has 8 balls. Sooo I need more! I would love to add these to my collection.
Total count is over 300. Because of the little 3 strand balls drawer can hold moreโฃ๏ธ
What a wonderful giveaway. I only have nine different colors of Valdani thread that I bought for a particular stitching project. I love Valdani thread though and wish I had more of it. Thanks for the opportunity to win!!!
I love stitching with Valdani thread. I’m currently up to 109 balls (61 – size 12, 41 – size 8, but only 7 – size 5). Looks like I have some catching up to do on my size 5 collection. Thanks for this great giveaway.
I love stitching with Valdani thread. I’ve amassed 109 balls over the past 5 years or so (61 – size 12, 41 – size 8 and 7 – size 5.) Looks like I have some catching up to do with my size 5 collection. Thanks for the chance to win!
I am fairly new to wool appliquรฉ but already major Valdani fan! I have 9 size 5 balls of thread with several more on their way from your store. Would love to add to my collection – aiming for all the colors!!! ๐โค๏ธ
I probably have over 200 balls of Valdani. I believe I have bought them all from you!
So very disappointed that you wonโt be AQS Grand Rapids this year. This is where I usually stock up on wool and thread. I understand your reasons but just wanted you to know that you will be missed. I love all you do and thank you for continuing to bring us so many beautiful designs. Your latest book is the best!
Oh my these are gorgeous!! I have mine in the boxes that you sell. I’m guessing around 75 balls of different sizes. I really need to get more number 5s.
First let me say how great your new look is! I easily have 300+ spools of Valdani, all weights. I would count them if I knew where they all were! Why spend all that time embellishing if youโre not using pretty thread???!!!!
I have 75 or so, I guess! I have ones that are not in use in one thread container, but the ones I received for special projects I keep with the project so I donโt get confused! I am happy to report I use my Valdani thread book, and try to remember it when Iโm at a quilt show. We are in Pigeon Forge, TN and raided your thread drawers while I was here!
Unfortunately I don’t have a single one! I dearly love the mouthwatering colors, but I’m on a very limited fixed budget, so I get by with my trusty dmc stash. I’d love to experiment with some of their lovely variegated shades, and truly experience what stitcher everywhere rave about. Someday I’ll have an extra few bucks and try some, but not this month. Ty for your generous giveaways!
OMG! I have 204 balls – hate to start a project and not have what I need – recently took advantage of sale to purchase for patterns waiting to be done.
I have about 136 balls and I swear I never have the color I need!! I need to go get more! I’m addicted and can’t use anything else now. Best thread ever for my wool projects. Thanks for supplying it in your shop.
I have 77. Mostly #12, some #8, and a few 3 strand. I donโt have any #5 colors yet. The Hello Spring Table Runner kit I purchased from you lists #5-H205 and #5-H203 โ one of which is pictured in your post. What a great win this would be!
I have 8 Valdani balls for a new quilt project I got at last years AQS Daytona show. I was using up my old DMC floss on wool projects but felt I needed to finally break down and get some Valdani. Glad I did but could use more. Thank you!
Hi Lisa
I only have the ones that come in my wool box subscriptions. I love the surprise of which color I will get.
The picture of the ones in the Valdani were beautiful!!!
Thanks,
KD
HI, I have exactly 4. I am just getting started, and I am afraid to start using them. I want to admire the colors just a bit longer..I tried to keep my choices neutral so I could make them adaptable to any project. I have 2 variegated and 2 solid.
Iโm away from home for the month of March so I canโt count how many balls of valdani I have. I do know I have two of your containers full of thread and a few moves that just donโt fit. Most of my collection is variegated and all of them are number 12
I have ten balls of Valdani, most of what I have came in the wool subscription boxes! Love the thread, my son accuses me of over embellishing everything, but what is that beautiful thread for anyways!!!
I am blessed to have as many as I do have. That being said I’d be happy to add these to my thread box. I had never used the 5’s till last summer’s SBOW. Now I’m hooked, love the way they look with embellishing stitches!
I order all my Valdani from your store….the best selection! I have a few 5, and 8 and 12 Close to 80 altogether. Plus I have the best accessory ever….your book with all the instruction and stitches for wool. Oh and don’t forget the little book where I log in all my Valdani thread to keep up with what I have and don’t have…..this lttle gem was bought from your store also, of course! Love everything Primitive Gatherings. Love your blog and thanks for the opportunity to win some Valdani!
I am out of town so canโt count them. Itโs crazy though how addicting the wool appliquรฉ is and of course the more projects the more Valdani you need. I would guess that I have around 150 balls of Valdani. Most of it being #12 weight. I think I have around 5 balls of #5 weight so this would be an awesome gift to win.
My first opportunity to try Valdini came during our travels last summer. I stumbled upon a great quilt store that carried this wonderful thread. I only have about 6 to start, but I love them for stitching wool projects.
I likely have around 100 balls of thread. 3 Primitive Gathering plastic boxes full and a zipper bag or two with thread for projects in process. Maybe more in process.
I could give an accurate number because I have an accurate inventory in my little PG thread inventory book. I love organization in my chaos!!
I have 3 Primitive Gatherings boxes full plus more in project bags – i have them all categorized in your book though, if I could only find it in my quilt room!!!
I donโt have that many Valdani threads, maybe 1 or 2 dozen. But I would love to have more. Then I would need the projects to go with the threads, right?
I have approx. 190 balls of thread. This includes two Primitive Gatherings #12 Valdini collections (48 each) and I just recently ordered/received your #8 Valdini collection (another 48). I have not tried #5 weight yet.. but would be very interested in how it looks on one of my projects. Happy Stitching!
Hi Lisa! My Valdani threads are in size 12 mostly. I also have 6 strand and wool, but alas no 5wt. So lacking!!! Thanks for the chance to win these Valdani threads.
I was kind of curious to find out how many I have….I try to keep them organized in the plastic floss containers (was what I started with). I have 6 boxes with 24 sections per box…..but I squeeze in 2 or 3 of the light weight balls in a section…..so I am guesstimating about 175 balls of various weights. I love the #5 weight and the depth it brings to the stitches! (Started with #5 weights with last year’s SBOW) And honestly….the richness of the Valdani colors are the absolute best!
Oooooow Valdani threads! I think I have around 25- some are with their coordinate kits so, Iโm guessing. I have not tried #5. Most of mine are #8 or #12.
I have approximately 73 balls of Valdani that I use exclusively for my Primitive Gatherings Wool projects! I usually order the thread kits that are available for each project and I still have a few that are waiting on me to stitch! The Valdani thread colors are fabulous and enhance every project I have made with them – my only wool stitchery thread!
I have 25 balls of Valdani threads, in all different colors except for the red which is for a specific project (Life Is Beautiful) that I have been working on for 10 years…….
Opps. Forgot tot leave the weight. All my 25 balls of Valdani are #12. That is the weight sold at my quilt shop and coincidentally, the weight my wool teacher recommends (who works at the quilt shop….).
Hi Lisa! Thanks for being so creative for all of us to enjoy your beautiful art! I love working with the Valdani, and I have 243 balls. All are beautiful!
I have 8 balls of Valdani thread. I purchased these for my first 2 projects. Since then I have been practicing different stitches and making little pincushions and pouches. Something small for on the go. I find handwork very soothing and relaxing.
I counted 154 but that doesn’t include all the balls tucked away in various projects! Mostly 8 and 12but looking forward to using more 5 now that I’ve seen the results produced..
Sooooo many…….and they are so fun to touch but I have to admit that I haven’t used very many of them. That’s my goal for 2020 – stop collecting wool and thread and actually do something with it! I think I have at least 50 balls.
I have 4 large divider boxes – must be 80-100 valdani 12 weight, then another 40 or so of #8 #5 and a few #3 weight pearl cotton. I do enjoy my stitching – especially PG patterns! ๐๐
I just cleaned my sewing area and now I canโt find my threads! I believe 30 or so- not including the 6 for the crazy quilt that I am still working on from Primitive Gatherings. Lol. Love this thread and I have all weights.
I love Valdani threads. I have 26 #12 weight and 2 #8 weight. I have not used #5 but would โค๏ธ To use it in some of my projects. Hope I will be the lucky winner. I am excited to be in the area of Primative Gatherings at the end of the month so of course a shopping trip to your shop in Menasha is on the agenda.
Just started working with wool and collecting the valdani threads. Sometimes hard to find weights other than 12. But I have managed to add about 150 skeins to my collection.
Love that Valdani thread! Have in all the different weights and lots of colors! One can never have too much thread – or that is what I tell my husband….
I think I have a little over 30, but they are differents weights. I have some for hand embroidery, as well, as some to do needlepunch. Love the colors!!
I just counted 65 that I can get my hands on! Many more are hiding in various projects that are still currently boxed up from our move in November. My new sewing room should be finished soon so can’t wait to get organized!
Help. I have zero. Have always used DMC. Think I need to try Valdini thread. Next time at the store. I will need to buy some or maybe I will win to start my stash ๐
Unfortunately I must admit that I have none but theyโve been on my wishlist for quite a while so who knows? This might be the time. If not, someone else undoubtedly will be over the moon having been the lucky winner of this gorgeous giveaway ๐งถ๐คฉ๐
I have 48 wonderful colors of Valdani threads!! Every one of them purchased at Primitive Gatherings. I love that you put together thread kits for your quilts.
I started to use the thread and have not stopped. Over 200spools. My grandson wants my quilting room after the fact,
, but not for a long time he says.๐
I probably have around 30 balls of Valdani at the moment. I recently ordered 10 more during your BIG sale. Canโt wait to get them and add them to my collection. Happy stitching ๐
I started the woodland whimsy quilt about a year ago and itโs turned me into a monster, Iโm in love with wool appliquรฉ! I have 20 balls right now and theyโre all so pretty.
I first saw this thread at the Houston quilt show. It looks like candy! Such beautiful colors, I donโt have but about 10, but do plan on getting more.
I am guessing I have about 40. No #5 wt. I know that! I have more greens than any other color. I also have about a dozen little Valdani floss balls. Do those count? ha
I have about 24, but none are #5! I have 12 Primitive Gathering books/patterns plus BOMs. I have visited the WI shop and can’t wait for the new one. My PG finishes are among my favorites. Love the new fabric lines.
Well, I have two top 48 cases so that’s about 100 right there. Then I usually buy the thread kits to go with the wool applique kits, plus all the colors I see at quilt shows and quilt shops, so I’m going to go with 250+. And now I’ll skulk away to my corner and think about what I’ve done.
โค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธ Love these colors immensely!!! I have 1 variegated green valdani thread ball. Would love to win this wonderful giveaway. Thank You for the opportunity!!! โค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธ
Sadly, I don’t have any Valdani threads to use on my wool embroidery projects. I’ve been using dmc pearle cottons because that’s what I happen to have on hand. I would LOVE to try these threads out and become addicted to them like most everyone else seems to be! Thanks for the opportunity!
I have about 55 which includes the entire series for the Primitive Garden wool quilt kit that your son help gather up for me as I purchased the last kit in your Cali store. So excited to get started. Along with several other kits.
I think I have about 60 balls of valdani. It’s kind of like an addiction. And each new project seems to end up with a whole new set of balls. I have valdani thread for cross stitch and balls for wool applique. Their colors are amazing!!! My favorite threads
I have around 50… give or take BUT never enough colors or balls of Valdani. It is my “go to” for all my embroidery projects. These beautiful shades and the texture it adds is just what I am looking for!
My container is full this would help me start a second! And I know how many I have because of Lisa’s Valdani book… 148 of all sizes. Thank you for the giveaway!
I have approximately 36 balls of beautiful Valdani threads in two different weights. Such gorgeous threads! And thank you for this wonderful opportunity!!!
Love Love Valdani. Thanks so much for all that you do!! I have a lot of the 12 and 8 but only a few of the 5. My guesstimate is that I have over 200 as I have several PG thread boxes full.
I’m new to wool applique so my collection of Valdani is limited. I actually won a contest several months ago and acquired my first Valdani’s. I have 8 balls but would love more. Thanks for being so generous ๐
Oh I love these threads. Stitch so nicely and wonderful colors. Just found a big box full yesterday, my guess is about 65 different weights and sizes. Happy stitching to all.
I think I have close to 50~~they are recorded in my PG book. I am always ordering more….and I just signed up for the Wool box. I am pretty excited about that! If I am not working on my wool it is sitting in a basket calling me…..
Zero. I have zero! I just purchased a lot of wool and now I need to get some quality threads. So excited to start this new hobby. I have several projects picked out already!
I started trying to count, got to 112, but know I have some in project boxes, so I would say probably 120+.
But, I do not have any 5wt, only 12 and some 8. Do you use 5 on wool applique? Or for big stitching? Love Valdani, I actually love to display them!
I have yet to own any but would love to!!! I love hand stitching, itโs such a peaceful, inspiring, creative means to share the gift God gave me with my hands. ๐
None, this is the first time I heard of this brand. I definitely need to look into buying some because I use wool in my quilts and would love wool thread. I am in the middle of making my first grandchildโs quilt and was looking for wool thread!!!!
Wow… loaded question. Letโs just say that I have a lot. I am in a mode of collecting these threads as part of preparing for my retirement. It is part of my โfundโ so to say. I have 14 of the thread boxes, some full, some not, sorted by color and size. The 5 weights are newer for me, just now starting to use them in Lisaโs projects. Anyone that wins the thread collection will be very lucky, indeed!
I have somewhere in the 30โs. I have emptied a whole bunch. Now that you asked I wish I had kept a balls in, balls out count. Working on using up a ball today. Thanks for all your inspiration. Canโt keep up!
Hi, Lisa- I have 292 cataloged in the My Soul is fed with my Wool, Needle and Thread book! I know that I have a bag that I have yet to write down! I would love to try this new weight! Thanks for the chance to win!
The colors in the give away Valdani threads are beautiful as well as the wool. I have 50+ balls of the thread and use for wool appliquรฉ and punch needle.
HI Lisa, 54 balls and more to come!–all kept in an awesome PG case. I am awaiting a second case with more Valdani from the recent sale. I have fun with my balls. My husband teases me because I lose them all over the car. In turn, I have fun teasing my sisters-in-law (whom I’ve introduced to wool applique) when they tie off with such a tiny end of thread. I tell them, ” Yes, I know they are $5.50 each ball. Yes, they are lovely variegated colors. Yes, they are hand dyed from Romania, BUT, you have to leave yourself more to tie off with:) Thanks for the chance to enhance my collection! I’d probably need another case!! Have a great week!
I have 108 total. It was an easy count by using my PG Wool, Needle and Thread book. A few years ago I purchased a three drawer thread cabinet to store all my Valdoni thread. Itโs like beautiful eye candy every time I open a drawer!
Not totally sure, but itโs in excess of 50 balls of Valdani. That doesnโt count the Valadani floss for cross stitch. I love the amazing colors and variegation!
I only have about 10 balls. 12 weight. I bought a 5 at Quilt Fest but havenโt tried it yet. I love love love this floss! Iโm making my quilt label right now with some in purple.
