Ann, Carol and I made our yearly trip to Honeymoon Acres in New Holstein, WI. They have such wonderful plants at the most reasonable prices….Look at the size of the hanging basket Carol is holding…it was only $21…click on the photo…to see how beautiful it is…the next thing I have to rave about is how we fit all of this into one vehicle..4 hanging baskets…two towers, and tons of perennials and annuals… Carol and Ann are the best packers….lots of practice from retreats…and coming home with way more than we started with. I have my new perennials planted already, but we had a frost advisory last night so the annuals are in the garage yet…I will have to get them planted before I leave for Portland OR, for Spring Quilt Market…Nick and I are setting up the booth in the garage today…to make sure we have everything and don’t take too much or too little of everything….I have 2 out of my three SUMMERTIME, blocks sewn. Many of you have called or came in to sign up…THANK YOU, THANK YOU!…It will be a fun summer I promise…
Month: May 2008
Drum roll…Here they are!
I know many of you have been patiently waiting for these…They are the start of my block of the week that we will be doing at our quilt shop, Primitive Gatherings this summer. They feature our own hand dyed wools and will be a little more primitive than what I have done in the past…go get on the phone, tell your friends and let do this together this summer…
Did you know I am going to only work part time this summer? Yes, probably only 40 hrs instead of the usual…But I want to do some fun things..and some not so fun things like lose some weight! Maybe by telling you all this I will have to stick to it!…You can keep me accountable or you can join me…I am not joining any group, I know they work, but I don’t work that way right now…I am dusting off my bike, rollerblades and going to buy another pair of tennies…I’m a tennis shoe junkie…every time I think about exercizing more I go buy a pair…I also have a Gold’s Gym membership, so I will try a few more classes this summer, I might even go buy a kayak with George B’s money he decided to give to me that I will have to pay taxes on next year, that’s a whole other conversation..back to the subject …I know how to eat “right”…I just love to eat…I don’t like to microwave so there a few more things that won’t work for me…so its just to get moving….So maybe this blog thing will help me in more ways than I thought…Are you with me?
Goofing off!
I feel like I am sluffing off. I am so used to having packed days of work, whether is be, sewing, book work, ordering, planning, organizing our next show, working on patterns, printing…I have my work done before we go off to Spring Market in Portland. I promised myself that I would not do anything new before we go…you know like one last design…so I’ve been gardening, shopping, cleaning my pit of a house, organizing my sewing studio…maybe getting a new floor, a warm one…I am tired of being cold and my nose running when I am trying to work…or just bringing my work into other rooms of the house…So here at right are my beautiful pink tulips…Maybe I need to go get the annual petunias I plant when the tulips are gone, the petunias will be blooming…At our house this year..the color is purple…many purple wave petunias!…last year was pink…I will be showing off my new block of the week blocks soon…maybe I will take photos right now…even though they are not stitched!
Summer Block of the Week, yes week….
Yesterday and today I started drawing and picking out fabric for my summer block of the week…This will run the 12 weeks of summer at our quilt shop, Primitive Gatherings. It will be fairly simple, have a primitive look…I have the wools picked out, 3 blocks drawn and have decided how I will set them…Ordered fabrics, cross my fingers it will come in and we will have a successful summer. I will put the blocks as I get them done…later…
