Garden Mystery Block Blog Hop!!!

Today is my DAY!!!  The blocks will be posted on FRIDAYS..until you have collected them all…Have you been following along already or is this the first you have heard about it?   I did post awhile back saying it was happening…but no worries you can still go and capture those 3 previous blocks…Here is my block…GROW

I love being part of a blog hop!!! Yes, it is another thing I have to do…but when you see the finished quilts made from these events it makes it all worth while, I just helped someone (Kathy) with their setting for the Patriotic blog hop we did last year…her quilt is going to be amazing!!

I  truly loved Rhonda’s Potting Shed block and wanted to design something that would go along with her block…so GROW is what I have come up with..lots of flowers and a cute little lady bug enjoying them…the spouts on the bottom have not yet blossomed so thus the name…grow…not all gardening is about the bloom…it is the process and the excitement of watching it ALL happen…those first few sprouts are just as celebrated as the blooms! Even though the blooms get all the glory…kind of like quilt making right???  The finished quilt gets all the glory but for me it’s all about the whole process…

Click here to order GROW KIT  Kits are $12.

Here are the Valdani Threads I used…Check which ones you have… the ones you don’t order them along with your block…

#12-  0775, 0575, 1 or 0511, 1641 or 0513, 0154, 180, 841, 86 or 086, M30, 0562, 0534, 8111, V3

#8-  0575, 1

Listed below are the other designers participating in the blog hop…make sure you go to each site…download their pattern and support them by buying their kit…if you cannot do this for everyone or you are doing your own wools/fabric…please try to support them in other ways…things like making sure you comment or LIKE/ Share their posts on social media platforms- buy from their websites- share with your sewing group/guild what you are working on… just by being excited is contagious and some of them will possibly buy from us as well..post in your FB groups what you are working on and who’s design it is….and so on…you get it…right?  Support doesn’t alway mean with your money …just make sure you follow the rules involved with copyrights and do not give anyone another designers work…show or tell them where they can get it themselves…

THANK YOU for Blog Hopping with us ALL…We sure APPRECIATE you as our customers!!!  Without you events like this would not be happening!!!

Normal…

Things are starting to get back to a comfortable “normal” for me…not rushing to go here, there…do this…have to do that…So here are some of the things that have been going on…

Our WI Sit & Sew group…(we are working on a better name) Had our first of nine get togethers this year…Here are the show & shares….If I know the sources I will give them..if not..I’m sorry in advance.

Judy shared two of her quilts she made for her grandchildren…
Vickie comes from us all the way from Madison…she shared her finished  quilt and fabrics, this quilt/pattern is from years back…so I do not know if it is still available but if you click on Sandy’s name her site will come up…Jean shared two Heart trivets for Valentines Day…Kay shared two projects…a table runner kit was from Primitive Gatherings…Pattern is in a Kim Diehl book.I managed to finish this little binding on one of my class samples…Squash Blossom quilted my Karen Miller from Red Bird Co.   Karen quilts on her domestic sit down machine and is starting to teach professionally. Then I saved the best for last…

Remember the Wooly Block Adventure??? This was our block….remember???  Can still be purchased HEREI wish you could see this in person…We have also picked this as our WINNER for our Primitive Gatherings Shop…Kathy Decker from Fond du Lac WI…

This is the corner you cannot see behind her…Just STUNNING!!! I was hoping she would leave it here but…somehow she remembered it was up on my design wall..darn it!!!

She has used my black MODA FLANNELS , we have just received a new shipment…look for color…blackbird….The MODA flannels are the best look at how that quilting shows up!! They are super soft and by FAR the best out there!!!..thank you Kathy and thank you MODA for giving us such great fabrics!!!

Here are a few more close ups..Kathy has done all the stitching and the quilting…she has taken some classes from my famous quilter..Linda Hrcka..aka  thequiltedpineapple.com  Kathy said she loves Linda’s curved rulers…they helped her get this quilt to look amazing!!!  We think Kathy should win the Grand Prize Wooly Block Adventure…If and I hope there is one given!!!

Hope you enjoyed WI Sit and Sew Day!!

Block 24…

I am home recovering from a girly surgery…I will be the first to admit I haven’t been myself these last 4 months dealing with this…all went well and hopefully I will get back to my regular self.  I will have plenty of recovery time as I do not go anywhere until the middle of January.  So lots of time…

I want to also let you know we have 3 different settings we are working on for the Magic of Christmas blocks!!! They are all cool…I will be posting them in a few days when I feel better…Nick is watching me like a hawk and I am sneaking this post in…so short and sweet little message…

I will also be picking a winner soon for the MOC postings…I didn’t forget…so keep showing your progress! LB

I have starting on decorating the house for Christmas….got some of the big things done so I only have to put bulbs on tree and other small things…I had “little man” overnight last Fri/Sat…he helped my find all the Christmas treasures…you can sure tell he is a boy!!! He wanted only to play with MiMi’s truck…So when its all done I’ll share some christmas photos…How is your progress on Christmas going?img_8987

the magic of christmas…22,23,24 & 25…all the rest..

Happy Last Day of November!!!

Here you go..I promised them all before Dec.1…now get them all downloaded…as fast as possible…if you are missing blocks…use the search button on the right hand side…you will have better luck on a computer than your phone…or tablet…

These blocks will be coming off in about a week..this is your warning to get them all printed out…they are all in my blog posts…so if you can’t find one you are not working hard enough…so please look through all the posts…the links are in RED. Can’t be easier.

If I used triangle paper in these last four blocks I showed it in a picture…so please read everything as I explain if  you need to cut anything else…and what it takes the place of…some of these blocks have 1/2″ HSTs in them!!! Trust me you can do it!!

BLOCK 23

magic-of-christmas-block-23

Now here is the triangle paper I used to make the block…img_8809-6

The triangle papers will eliminate B and C- light and then E and F-red

BLOCK 24

So block 24 was designed with light triangles in the middle like the country block here…well I decided real fast that this needed to be changed…so I did not have time to change my block but Teri magically photoshopped it so you wouldn’t know if I didn’t show you the evidence here…

BLOCK 24

magic-of-christmas-block-24-bw

magic-of-christmas-block-24

Here is the triangle paper you need for this block…ignore the first draft of this block…don’t let it confuse you..

So you will need to still cut 6 D’s of light and 6 F’s red for the single triangles.img_8810-2BLOCK 25

The triangle paper replaces C-light and H-red

This is a big post already so I will not be adding more…I will be posting some layout diagrams soon…so look for them in early December.  But in the meantime get your blocks finished!!!  I hope you have enjoyed your 25 blocks and look forward to seeing them all done…will be in touch!  LB
