Moda Blockhead 3- Block 6

Block Heads Square Logo - Gray

Happy Block Heads Wednesday!

I am so glad you stopped by today to visit and print your Block 6 block pattern…now if you just want to print the pattern I have added a button for you to download the pattern…but if you want to stick around and see how I make 1/2″ finished HSTs so easily I will explain…and…I will be hosting an awesome give-a-way for those who hang around til the end!

For my Moda Block Heads 3 I am using Urban Farmhouse Gatherings and Indigo Gatherings

Lisa Bongean/ Primitive Gatherings

Click HERE to print your block pattern!

I am stitching 4″ blocks and I also want to share my layout…you will notice that some of my blocks have light background and some have grey and blue…that is because my layout will have bands of colors…so where it is white, the backgrounds will be white…where they are grey, the backgrounds will be grey…and blue, blue backgrounds…this quilt will only be 40ish by 55ish…I may put a another border on after but I will have to get to that point first!  I love seeing all your blocks on the FB group!

Now back to those little HSTs-(Half Square Triangles)…I use a product called Triangle papers…now this is not paper piecing because the paper comes off right after the HSTs are pressed…not after the whole block is stitched… Now because we are making 24 for this block this method makes it super fast and accurate…and it doesn’t matter what size blocks you are making…

Here is a little about the Triangle Papers…they come in sheets…or in sizes ready made for 5″ charm squares.

Here is what size Triangle Papers you need for each of the block sizes for Block Heads..

4″ block- 1/2″ finished

6″block- 3/4″ finished

8″block- 1″ finished

12″block- 1 1/2″ finished

We do offer the Triangle paper in variety packs as well that is like 15 sheets of 4 different sizes…

If you need to browse our Triangle papers click HERE

Now here is a quick couple of videos on using the Triangle papers…they are not the best but you will get the idea…

I moved the videos to a different post… with so much traffic today  I think it will be better…if you cannot watch them…wait until the site is not so busy…and I have added them to Moda Block Heads Facebook

All my blocks so far…

Moda Block Heads 3-Block 5

Happy Block Heads Day!  Today’s pattern is found here:

I can’t tell you how much fun this was to make…I had a blast…you have to rewire your brain but when it turns out it is exciting!!!…I suggest coloring the background with something so you know the different when paper piecing it…

I have been in California for a couple of days now…and when ever I go to the shop always has lots going on…. and they have lots of fun!!!

There is a group that meets on the 2nd and 4th Mondays…it is an appliqué/ hand work/ rug hooking group…they were lovely ladies and had some great projects…..if you are looking for a group to stitch with…these ladies were very nice….
