Last day of warehouse sale… and another cool event for you to attend!

Just want to let everyone know that today from 8-12pm is the final chance to get great fabric, patterns, books, kits, wools and so on…at awesome prices and I am sure they might be a little lower today!  We will also do some web warehouse sales (pattern/books and such) as soon as we get organized and get it all on the site!

Thanks to all who attended yesterday both in warehouse and on the site…we appreciate helping to lower our inventory while building your own!  It was nice to see those I saw the short time I was there yesterday…Linda (thequiltedpineapple) and her family are here with us at the lakehouse and I am not supposed to be working this weekend, so you will not see me at the warehouse today…here are some photos from yesterday…IMG_9732 IMG_9720 IMG_9727

I also want to let you all know about a super fun event you could attend…my friend and fellow pattern designer Stacy West is hosting a weakend on the WI/MN border.  I wish I could take the time to escape…If I did this is where I would be going…Below is her beautiful brochure here:

Happy Saturday! LB

a post about french fries….

Do you love french fries?  Dumb question, right?!!! We all love them…I have basically given them up because they just are way too fattening…so with that in mind I want to share with you my newest discovery…I am at the Lakehouse with Nick and I wanted to try out one of our Christmas presents…here it is…a Hot Air Fryer…have you seen this?  Hot Air…not dumped in oil!!!photo copy

You can make a bunch of things in it…I not only bought it for the fries but also for all the fish Nick catches…I like baked and  broiled fish but there is nothing like a good ol’ Wisconsin fish fry…but again…too many calories in that oil…so I can’t wait to fry fish too…I also got a new french fry cutter…Shown here, UnknownI have 1/4″, 3/8″ and 1/2″ blades….then I had to soak my fresh cut potato fries in water for 30 min…pat them dry…toss in a tablespoon of oil and then place them in the air fryer…here is how they turned out!!!

Let me just say….they taste as good as any restaurant fries from all those good places we eat out at on the road…when I steal a few of Nick’s of coarse….The only downfall I can see is I may need another one so the fish and the fries can be finish at the same time!  I also can’t wait to try homemade onion rings and cheese curds…are you hungry yet?

I purchased all of this from William Sonoma in case you feel the same way I do about the sinking your fries and fish in the old “hot tub”method.  Plus all the gallons of oil we used…No guilt now…Thank You God for making people so smart that they can figure these things out so we all can enjoy  fries now…have a great Saturday…I am going to stitch now while enjoying the sunshine coming through the windows…LBphoto

I need your imput…

I received an email today…I can’t stop thinking about it…and need some advice…that is what a blog is for right? Interaction….I am in the process of switching my email messaging to Mail Chimp which will allow me to send beautiful emails with pictures and such…it is costly…about $150 per month because I have 9000 addresses on my account already -(yes I know some of you cannot sign up because I am at my limit and this is why)…and would have to enlist for 10,000+…this is a good problem right…lots of people what to know what is happening at PG….then I get this today…

Just got off the phone with you(meaning the store-she did not talk to me) and will now write to get me unsubscribed.  I have made several failed attempts the last week to unsubscribe from all 3 websites:  Lisa’s blog, Primitive Gatherings, and the store.  I’ve not had any problem with any other website and I know I’m doing it right.  I have loved the store, products, and everything Lisa has done.  There are way too many postings and it’s starting to feel like when we have a famous speaker at our guild and she spends too much time pushing her products.  I don’t think Lisa is in this just for the money, but trust me, it’s starting to look like that and turning me off from the store.  So many more stores in SoCal where I live now sell wool and stuff to go with it, we now have several local choices plus many other websites.  Many of my friends are now feeling the same way and from being your biggest supporters we sometimes look elsewhere.  Please just get me off of these 3 sites and consider sending less for those who still are on them.

Now here is the issue…I sent out 1 email this month..which was yesterday…3 in May and 1 in April and so on…I have blogged 4 times this month so far…2 have been about our family wedding…that everyone at the last two shows and classes have been asking me if I was going to post about the wedding… now the shop sends out little blog posts about shop stuff…there is a lot going on right now and we want to treat our web customers just as well as our walk-in customers……before today I was thinking I was not posting/emailing enough…then that email showed up…
Please tell my your honest opinions….before I spend 1000’s of dollars a year to send out emails……should I schedule emails and blogs… like once a week?  We are starting to work on my new studio where we will be able to do YouTube videos…is this not necessary either?  Is it all too much? I was thinking I was slacking compared to some quilt shop that I am subscribed to….
well… maybe now I will be able to sleep a little better now that I shared this and will get your info…Please be honest…I know I cannot please everyone all the time but need to know if more of you feel this way.  LB

2012 in review…here are all the stats from my blog!!!

If you need all the details…click review this report on the bottom…if not skip it…

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2012 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

About 55,000 tourists visit Liechtenstein every year. This blog was viewed about 750,000 times in 2012. If it were Liechtenstein, it would take about 14 years for that many people to see it. Your blog had more visits than a small country in Europe!
