Month: April 2010
Well I have been home almost a week now and I think I might be getting all of my stuff together…I bought a little mini computer to travel with me to the shows and I left the cord in Chicago…they just called me today to tell me it arrived in Metropolis today…so hopefully they will be sending it home soon..so I didn’t get to blog while I was gone, but I have to admit after how busy we were in Chicago and then the 12 hour days at the Mall in Paducah…til 9pm…I really don’t think there would have been much…so my house is picked up, my bills are up to date and now I can sew…here is what I did last night…the Civil War Tribute Blocks- I know this is month 3 I will get 4 done by this weekend and be current…I saw this quilt in someone’s booth at Chicago…so I must get working on it…I also have a deadline for teaching projects that need to be completed…did you see me working on this in Chicago or Paducah? I will be teaching this Christmas Mat in July at Primitives of the Midwest….look for quiltersstation.com for info if you want to take some great classes from primitive/folk art teachers…I am leaving this pic big so you can see what is going on….Here is another thing I will be teaching at Road to California January 2011 and the Georgia Quilt Show in Duluth GA Original Sewing and Quilting Expo…in October 2010. This is a cute little basket of tulips…It will make a wonderful 3 hour class. Check your calendars and come take a workshop and learn more about wool applique….On Thursday morning Nick let me out of the booth to go see the “Pavillion” I have to say it didn’t look too bad… Maybe we will be there next year? While out of the booth I made a quilt purchase…from the Cotton Shop in Muscatine IA…Look at my kit. Hopefully I will get to put it together sometime soon...sometimes a girl just has to buy a kit even though she has every fabric in it in her stash…well time to get back to work…LB
Well Preview night went very well…we only forgot our brochures in the truck and our order forms…we have to restock a bunch of things tomorrow, so we will be in early…thanks everyone for the nice comments about the booth and book and everything else…more later…
Look… some new patterns for Spring!

Here is another Scrap Basket block…I know I have stretched my creativity to come up with this one, but i still like it. I have recieved a few requests for more blocks and I feel guilty that I have not been able to get one done lately, but do not worry…after Chicago and Paducah they will come and then some…
I am stressing out because we have discovered that the tongue template is not in the book for the Prairie Rose Table Rug and the robin in Nest does not have a belly…. I know not all of the books are printed yet so I have contacted them to see what can be done. If they can insert an 8×10 in the center of the book…we will see what they come back with…So in the mean time if you were one of the first to purchase our Summer Gatherings book…here are those templates Prairie Rose Table Rug Tongue Just click on this link and you can print them out right from here. Technology is nice sometimes…It is very disheartening when we try so hard to make sure everything is right before we print…We never thought we had to proof the graphics, but we learn a little more every book we do. We will put the templates in any of the kits that we sell also to make sure that they get them. Good night…LB
