To Plant a Flower…Freebie Finishing…

It going to be sent away to Linda to be quilted so we can put the finished quilt on the pattern…The finishing kit includes, flannel for center, borders and binding…with all the wools and pattern for $22.50…If you only want the pattern that will be $10…order here…they will not be shipping out until September, so no charges until we ship. If you want to get the Freebie blocks…all you have to do is purchase $17 per week at either WI or CA shops and you can collect 15 blocks free…if you missed out on the earlier ones…they are $5 each kit/pattern.

Summer Update

I hope you are all having a great summer….I am trying to do some fun stuff along with all the deadlines I have to make!!!

I have been to SeaWorld in SanDiego…IMG_2684I have been hanging out at the Lakehouse with my Family..and friends and trying to see as many Sunsets as I can..IMG_2768IMG_2761IMG_2749I have been teaching ALOT also…At the WI studio..IMG_2740IMG_2745IMG_2743IMG_2744I forgot to take pics of the 2 Day Crazy Mat class…sorry Ladies…

I also want to share some of the samples that were brought in to the CA shop over our Grand Opening!!!

Here is Linda’s Timeless Rose quilt…IMG_2665and then we have Marsha’s Dashing Through the Snow…IMG_2666then some wool pumpkins on Midnight Harvest made by Cindy…IMG_2670It is so awesome when I teach a class and then the next time I’m at the shop someone brings in their finished project..here is Trina and her sample from our Punchneedle class…IMG_2671Then Jo shared a couple of things…little Thimble quilt…see how she placed her colored thimbles?…along with a SEW pincushion..IMG_2664Again…so much going on…I’m stitching ALL the BOW’s.  Both from the WI shop and the Little Bow Ties from the CA shop..IMG_2797 IMG_2833IMG_2821

We also are planning a wedding for the end of summer for these two…I think they were enamored with ‘little man” and want one of their own even more now!!!IMG_2796also last but not least I finished the FREEBIE…I will show it as soon as they get it on the website…lol…so coming soon!  Enjoy the nice weather and get those BOW fused down or cut if you are doing the pieced one…and then when you have little moments of time you can use it well!  Make the best of everyday….and STITCH!  LB

Colfax with a border…

I just HAVE to share Gretchens quilt with you…I have edited her email to me…she is entering it in a show and needs permission, so I took all of that out…This is probably the BEST thing that someone has added to one of my designs and it is made from my fabric also….I love the border…thought I’d share it with you…Enjoy this beauty!!!! so I was purchasing some additional fabric from you last summer. I finally have the quilt finished and have attached a picture.

Summer Breeze Week 2…and a little note on the Little Bow Ties..

 

 

 

 

 

Here are week 2 of Summer Breeze blocks and parts…I designed this block to be 6″ but I guess with my scant 1/4″ seam allowances the blocks are 6 3/4″ instead of 6 1/2″…I did not even notice because I was in such a hurry to finish them that I never measured any of them..but this will not be a big deal as we will just adjust the sashing to 6 1/4″ when we set the blocks in the quilt, and after the quilting they will measure 6 again!!! lol…What do your blocks measure?  Is this just me? Is my scant too scant?  IMG_2600

This has been a smash hit!…we have way more orders than expected…we were not ready for this and I must admit I think a little overwhelmed…soooo…We have ordered more backgrounds and are waiting for them to arrive…we will send week 1 and 2 together if yours did not ship out this week.  Also we have emailed or contacted you that a few of week 1 went out without the pattern…this will ship with week 2 if this was your case…thanks for understanding, as my CA staff gets aquainted to this type of program and pace.  Its been a (hectic) but FUN week!!!! Thanks for coming out…and today we have for our Grand Opening special…all books and patterns 20% off…as well as some nice kits…come in and visit…

It’s so fun to be here in CA!

I love being here at the new shop…I love to see what has happened in the in just less than 2 months, since I was here last…I love what they have done..I love the quilts starting to hang from the ceiling…I love the fabric shelves being full of fabric! I love seeing the CA customers who are so excited that we actually built a shop in CA!

But best of all…I love seeing my students bring in their projects…I love the shine in their eyes and the smiles on their faces that this stitching brings them…there is nothing like this feeling when you know you  have taught someone something they will do probably for the rest of their lives…Lori, a new friend and student from the Road to California class stopped in yesterday with her Mom and her class project…all it needs is the binding and it was fabulous!
IMG_2633Then there nothing like “old friends” too…I wish I could have gone to lunch with these two yesterday…Joyce and Rhonda…Geoffs Mom and Farmhouse Threads pattern companies…nice to see you again…Come see their patterns at the shop!!! NEW CALIFORNIA WEBSITE!!!

Hey Everyone!!!

I have waited until our Grand Opening Week to announce that the CA stores website is up and running!!!! It also uses Paypal!!!And we have awesome SHIPPING RATES….anything over $100 ships free! I also want to take the time to say that the two stores are NOT alike and carry different inventories!!! So please if you are a regular WI store shopper please stop by and visit CA!  Primitive Gatherings California site is HERE  This website carries realtime inventory.   Jared and Luke have worked hard to get it all together and to look like a Primitive Gatherings website we can be proud of.

PGCA-primitive gatherings california…We are also doing what the WI store does during the summer…we are giving away a FREE wool applique on flannel block kit and pattern…each week for 15 weeks there will be a different block offered, so you will want to collect them all…there is always a catch and that is you need to spend at lease $17 to get the free with purchase blocks….there also will be a finishing kit sold separately that will be offered about half way through so you will have plenty of time to decide and we will have time to kit them…this info will be announced when the project is finished and I know all the details…..one of the blocks shown here…IMG_2566CA also has a Summer Block of the Week, starting today, June 8…The wool version is the same as the WI store…but they have a different pieced one…Little bow ties is a 12 week program…We are cutting 72 charms…36 of 2 prints each for a total of 144 bowties each week…seems like a lot right? but they are so simple…easy cutting and very easy piecing!!! I know cause I am making them myself as well!!! This bow tie quilt project was inspired by Ardie Skjoad’s bow tie quilt shown here…Ardie…is Rhonda from Farmhouse Threads’s Mom!!! Ardie is also teaching at PGCA.  I fell so hard for this quilt we HAD to kit it and why not do it as a SBOW!  I just realized this is not the whole quilt…darn…will fix this when I get a chance…the quilt is 6 blocks by 8 blocks…each block has  36 bow ties!  We will be making 4 each week..72″x96″.  All fabric are civil war reproductions…it is a beauty…

little bow ties The cost is 18$ per week for 72 -5″ charms, plus you have to purchase the background from PG separately…We suggest 6yds as this will cover a small border and binding or if you want to use some of your scraps and make it king size…whatever you choose the background will be enough….We have chosen a Moda Bella solid or a Primitive Gatherings Primitive Muslin as your choice for a background at a special price.  The bella is $48 and the primitive muslin is $66.IMG_2617 (1)IMG_2624I hope these pictures inspire you to join me and the CA store in making this awesome quilt.  We will be able to ship these out as well and will have some special pricing options for a pay in full purchase.

This block of the week is 15 weeks for $17 and includes 16 blocks, 12 sashing and all the borders which all contain wool appliqué!!! It will be awesome…especially if wool appliqué is your thing…this SBOW is for you…no piecing except for basic sashing and borders. We also have a thread kit offered for $55, again a special price…reg.$63.  We suggest you purchase these threads as this quilt will use a lot of thread!  There will also be a supply kit of fusible web, marking pen, circle template, project case, needle threader and needles for $45.98, again this is a special discount because you are ordering everything.  We aim to take real good care of you…The best thing about this group is we are having a special members only(those who have signed up) Facebook group…where we will be sharing, giving tips, videos and lots of information while rooting you on!!!It will be like taking a class…so this is a great opportunity!
