Patti’s coconut cream pie

On Monday night we ate at patti’s 1880’s settlement for supper…it’s an annual ritual…the best food have to make reservations…this was my dessert… I need not say another word…it was great…but I have to be honest.. My mom’s is better… I think because I like whipped cream on the top of coconut cream not meringue…Monday is the only nite we can all go out to eat….and Patti’s is the place to be….it is about 30min from town in Grand RIvers

Well, finally a moment to blog….we are doing well here in soggy KY. Lots of things are moved around but luckily we have not been affected by any of that…we are seeing lots of return customers and meeting many new ones…we had 10 day old Corbin visit us with his Mama yesterday… Isn’t he beautiful….we are starting to sell out of things at the booths so if you have not made it to us, come early today…yesterday was very busy!
I am blogging for the first time on this iPad so I hope it all goes and I am not wasting my time only to not have this post not work so it will be short…it took me an hour to figure out how to upload from my camera…so I am going to send this now…talk to you later

45 and life to go…and April Farmer’s Wife

I got up early the last two days and finished…45 and Life to go…I will be 45 this year and there are 45 star blocks in this quilt, so I named it for me…you never know if my life gets any crazier if I will make it for many more…it is 55″ square the blocks are 5″.  I would love to make it 10″ blocks and to make a king size…it features the blacks and tans from my “Little Gatherings” line of fabric that just went out on the market for sale to shop owners this week.  So watch for the fabric in August and ask your quilt stores to buy it…It is a wonderful line of basic background colors…raven, time worn, paperbag, piecrust, honey, brown sugar, walnut…all with vintage little prints on them….I have had a great response from the shop owners who have already seen it…I will be showing more quilts as time progresses…

I think I am having a breakdown…i need a fulltime house keeper…where is Alice (Brady)?…I need a full time personal assistant to keep all this stuff answered, organized, and me sane and so I can have some personal time in a day…I have not excersized in over a week…I’m not asking for much…maybe an hour to two to rake the garden…go grocery shopping or take down my Christmas decorations!…I need some expert “piecers” to make quilts…and do it quite quickly as there are always deadlines.  I miss just having a somewhat normal life…so I think I just need more people…so when this happens…they just seem to somehow come my way…I will be waiting…patiently….

Now that I unloaded all of that you…remember you wanted to know this stuff…

By the way…here are the April Farmer’s Wife blocks…so I think I have it right now…sorry for the mix up…the last post’s were May’s…see someone is ahead that would be Sue,..wish it were me!  LB

May- Farmer’s Wife Blocks…the last bunch

These are the May blocks…sorry…see next post for April…

Here are the last of the Farmer’s Wife blocks.  Sue is busy putting the quilt together and quilting it.  I can’t wait to see it.  Sorry I didn’t get these on right a away…but where does the time go…

I am back from Ohio, were we met a new bunch of great quilters!  It was nice to meet all of you faithful blog followers…now if I could find more time in the day to blog we would be a perfect match.  We have unloaded and started putting up one of the booths for Paducah..then today will be the next one.  Oh…I may have forgotten to mention..we will be in two different locations in Paducah…we got a last minute spot in the Finkle building on Kentucky Ave…where AQS holds their hurt and overstocked book sale.  We had already paid for our spot in the Mall so Nick and Nancy will be at the Mall and Jake, my son, and I will be in the AQS location…so next year if all goes well we will not have to work the mall hours, which is the only downfall of being in the mall.  So after today…I need to get back to designing…and get my things ready for Quilt Market, which will come up fast.  The Gathering is full again this weekend…we have a group of girls coming in from FL and I don’t know where the rest are coming from, but we will be doing a wool weekend…so that will be some much needed wool stitching time…I am piecing with my new line called “Little Gatherings”,  I was told the sales of it are going well and they are very please and have already given me a “new” assignment….The strike off of the  flannels have arrived and I have sent them back to see if we agree on the 40 out of over 100 sku’s that came in….bummer…they are so great, I wanted more, but we have to be a little conservative with the cost of cotton these days…so I will be chatting with you about what I’m working on, what treasures I found at the show and just what’s going on…more to come…LB
