Mr & Mrs. Gerald Bongean…50 Years Together…

Can you imagine making it to 50 years!!! WOW…Saturday night we had a small celebration with Nicks parents…We cooked them Steak and Lobster with all the other fix-ins and they talked about when they got married…They were married at 9 in the morning…The neighbors cooked lunch and supper in the Hall for them.  The neighbors kids were the waiters and waitresses…They had a dance after the dinner with all of their family and friends attending….things were a lot different back then…
Congratulations Mom and Dad…Hope you have many more…
PS…I hope I can get 50 roses someday, I know I will have earned every damn one of them!!! lol…
Posting about Christmas Open House tomorrow…can you wait that long to see your presents?   LB

its time to start making the wedding quilt!

My youngest Jake, (who some of you met in Paducah) has asked his girlfriend of many years(since they have been in high school) to “Marry him” last Saturday night…they met us on Sunday at the boat and told us…we then went out for dinner with them and Lauren’s parents, Bill and Gretchen to “celebrate”…it is so nice to come home to good news…here is a pic of the happy couple…other than this news, I have been cleaning closets and working on quilting my all wool quilt along with the BOW!

Keep Stitching! …now what kind of quilt am I going to make for Jake and Lauren…should it be “my style” or theirs…maybe a combination….but I better start now…there is no date yet but you know how fast it will be here…LB

TS

Do u know what TS stands for? Well here in MN it means Taylor Swift. SHe is here at the same place the Q show is at. Well sometimes when the opportunity knocks you have to open the door…so Nick and I wanted to see her concert. Me because I knew it would be a theatrical performance and Nick might be the only 43yr old who knows all the words to Love Story one of her songs…Stacy W got us some great tickets about 50 feet away from the stage about 10 rows up. The girl can sing, and change hair, and dresses faster than anyone I know….Her busses filled the loading docks and I mean lots of busses, I know it must be a small army making that show work… I was in foreign territory …. Never been around that many 8 to 15yr
old girls dressed like big girls and singing every word. It was a great show, glad I went…but don’t need to go again… It was great entertainment for the evening….here are a few pics. Today our booth was swarmed…THANKS for a great day Minnesota!!!!!!! I am really tired!!!!!

stawberry festival

It very early in the morning, I can’t sleep so I’ve read for a couple of hours and now I am going to blog…I need to start working out so I can SLEEP! Hopefully I will not be too tired today to go for a long walk/jog…as soon as I am done here 4am is a little too early to be out on the streets in a new town.  So guess what we did on Saturday…we went to Srawberry Festival at the Hillsboro County Fairgrounds…The place was huge…it ran into the streets of Plant City Fl.  As soon as we arrived we had to have the strawberry shortcake…and i couldn’t wait to try a bunch of the “fair” food…well after the shortcake, Nick didn’t said he wasn’t hungry so there i sat with my tongue haning out wanting to try this and that, but when hubby is not hungry he is letting me down because I could be having a bite  or two of what he is having…so he totally rained on my strawberry festival fun as far as the food…so we walked and walked and saw everything….the contests, the bluegrass bands, the “cracker” village where a woman made rope,  the blacksmith made nails, the woman was braiding a wool rug…it was awesome!  We saw the cows…their were no pigs, chickens, and lambs so that was a little let down, but it was something to do… I am not the relaxing type…My sewing is done that I thought would take me my whole time down here…I’ve read : The girl who kicked the hornets nest.  the last book in the series of 3.  We saw the new Matt Damon movie and now this is the second night in a row that I am up!  We have to go to the expo center tomorrow early and finish setting up the booth, so that will be something to look forward to.  I just love to work and that is the plain truth.  I will have to find a kit in the booth to make so we have a second sample.  Wish I would have brought more of my new stuff that I really need to get ready for Spring Market…Well it is 5 am now…time to get up and burn off some energy…Here is a slide show of the strawberry festival… I would have loved to buy about 4 flats of them, they were only 8$ a flat!.  Mom would have loved making jelly and freezing these berries!  In Wisconsin we have to pick your own and it costs about $15 a flat….LB

MENASHA WINS!

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE MENASHA BLUEJAYS DEFEATING THE (POWERHOUSE)APPLETON NORTH LIGHTNING.  8 TO 3.  THERE WERE 3 OPPONENTS ON THE FIELD MENASHA, APPLETON AND THE WIND.  MENASHA’S DEFENSE  SCORED A SAFETY IN THE SECOND QUARTER TO GO UP 2 -ZIP .  APPLETON NORTH SCORED AN ALMOST 50 YD FIELD GOAL IN THE THIRD QUARTER WITH HELP FROM THE THIRD OPPONENT (THE WIND) TO GO UP 2-3.  THEN MENASHA RAN THE BALL IN SCORING A TOUCHDOWN IN THE 4TH QUARTER TO GO UP 8-3 THEY WENT FOR THE 2POINT CONVERSION WITH ONLY 10 GUYS ON THE FIELD AND MISSED…THEN THE DEFENSE HELD A.N. IT WAS AN EMOTIONAL VICTORY FOR ALL PLAYERS AND COACHES.  MENASHA HAS NOT BEATEN A.N.
