Memorial Day weekend…

It was a nice weekend….the weather wasn’t the greatest but we made do…Nick caught lots of walleyes off the dock…the boys got to ride a little bit and I did some cooking, picture taking and some stitching…nothing to intense…just nice to be by the water even if it was just 60 degrees…

Quilts in flannel gatherings…spring market booth photos

I thought I might show you some of the quilts from the booth…they all are going to be in my new book called Flannel Gatherings…for a total of 12 quilts in all…sorry these pics are not that great…my camera battery was dead so i had to take them with my ipad…they are so awesome in person….some are very simple with quilting to die for from…Linda Hrcka, MI, and Val Krueger, NV…some of these quilts can be made in a day and will make great graduation and wedding quilts as well as christmas gifts… Some have wool appliqués..

Now do they have to be made in flannel? NO! You can make them out of regular cotton prints too, I have used the flannel to promote my Wool & Needle flannel lines from Moda, with the newest line coming out in late July/ August …I was told there was going to be a bit of a delay because they are improving the grey goods that the line is printed on and that set the release date back a bit..so hopefully not as many defects..i guess it is hard to print well on flannel and the better the grey good the easy it is…I don’t want the book to come out way before the fabric arrives because I want you to use the Moda flannels!…if it comes out earlier some may be tempted to use other flannels….you get my reasons right?

So that’s my story for today…I have a fat 1/8 bundle of my Wool & Needle II to give away with all 32 pieces…if you leave me a comment on which of the quilts you can see here is your favorite? I can see 9 of the 12 …some are kind of hidden…and you can’t see them very well…but I promise the book will have lots of great photos! If you PIN any of these photos make sure they are properly labeled! Thanks….

Tree of Life

Just want to share this quilt which is fresh off the long arm frame of Linda Hrcka…. ( pronounced Hersh-ka) of thequiltedpineapple.com. This quilt will be overnighted and will arrive tomorrow for me to hand stitch the binding on…this quilt is actually very easy to make, I stitched it in a day…it will be in our newest book FLANNEL GATHERINGS coming out in July along with our wool & needle flannels from Moda, a July release also…hopefully your local shop owner will order our book at market or you can always pre-order from us…

The main reason I am giving you a peek at this quilt is….how AWESOME is that quilting! I can’t wait to hang it in the booth for all to enjoy….the Tree of Life… Is so Man-ly yet pretty at the same time…how did that happen?…the quilt is 100ish,x100ish…can’t remember if it is 102 or 106, but anyway it would be a great big quilt for a cabin or a young mans room…especially an “outdoors man” like our boys are…

My quilters work extremely hard to get me the quilts finished for shows…it always comes down to the last minute because we are always pushing to get more done, lots of next day shipping and late-nite binding sessions….thanks Linda and Val and Pat!

I will be posting more of the quilts from the book and other things…during the show…

Hey all…. I just thought I would share some of my new wool designs with you ….First..Snowflake Garden is a remake of an old Backyard Quilts pattern before we became Primitive Gatherings….Carole made this mini version with Snowman Gatherings with wool appliqués!  Everyone who saw this quilt wanted a kit and pre-ordered it!! I love the mini version some things are worth an update!!!

I love this farm girl, watering her flax flowers and tending her sheep…She has a girlie barn too…I want a yellow barn!  Sorry the picture is not real great on this one…hopefully I can get a better one and switch them out…
